Obsessed with this store! Weve been going there pretty much since theyve opened this location, and try to buy from them as much as we can, especially during Covid. Amazing selection for any art lover. I had an item that I really wasnt pleased with, emailed them about it (not even expecting an answer) and Joni followed up and made it right, which makes me even more loyal to their service. Please come here - shop local - and be amazed.

Great selection of notebooks, paper, ink and paints. New go to spot.Got a gift for my girlfriend and they have tons of cute useful bits and bobs for sketchers/painters or people who are picky about their notes.

Under normal circumstances, I would give Flax 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, however COVID hit us and has changed everything. And with rent going sky high, for retailers, Flax moved to a much better place. Great parking availability, but the one glaring difference is the amount of variety, the stock, its just not the same. Before Flax moved, they had a gargantuan amount of stock in their store. It would easily take 3 - 5 days to take in everything. Now days, not so much. I will still visit and make purchases here. They carry some very unique items that I need to do my work with. I only wish I lived in San Francisco, this store would be easily accessible for me. But going to the city, once a year, makes accessibility a challenge.

Friendly, competent service. Found all of what I came in for and a few other great items I didnt know I needed.

This store sells many art stuff. During my visit I saw a workshop running inside the store for urban sketching. So, if you sign up for their website you wouod receive notification for future workshops (siad by one of the staff). According to her, the workshop could be in different topics.

I am in vacation in SF, and while I understand that people are scared about the plandemic, I did not appreciate a bit being attacked by the 3 sales associates when I was minding my own business in this store. I was the only customers, so alone in a corner, with my mask on, bellow the nose (health issues). The lady came to tell me to properly use the mask, I told her that I am alone with health issues and between us were more than 10 ft distance. Immediately the other 2 sales associates jumped at me, attaking me, telling me that I am rude for mentioning the CDC order. While SF is a nice city, the people living here are so brained washed by their mayor that is unbelievable. People, the life is only one, enjoy!

Cool selection of items! Some beautiful and fun design. Great place to shop for gifts. A bit pricy though.

My friend and I visit the SF store pretty regularly. If you can get over some friendly but slightly pretentious staff members, they have a good and broad selection of products, and their staff is knowledgeable (although they may give you some side-eye if you’re a beginner). I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area and want supplies.

Covid safe, and awesome products. A little pricey and most products have a focus on paper arts and stationary.

FLAX has a selection with good variety for all of your traditional art needs! The products come at a variety of price points, so if you feel like running in and getting something cheap, or shopping for something better quality, you can do so! What keeps me from giving four stars, the customer service was bare minimum. We werent asked if we needed help, and the cashier seemed distracted with another conversation. The stores a bit out of the way, but besides that a good art store in San Francisco.

A fantastic art supply store, and not just art supplies. Lovely cards, a large selection of varied wrapping paper, a good kids section and a helpful staff. This is my favorite shop in Fort Mason.

I came into this art supply wonderland on my birthday a few weeks ago. When checking out, the cashier and I ended up spontaneously dancing to Led Zeppelin for a few minutes.

This is a great toy store!Not only is it more spacious than most boutique toy stores, but the selection is incredible. Thankfully, no Bratz dolls or Hannah Montana here...just aisle after aisle of creative, quality toys.

I absolutely love this store. The staff is very friendly and relaxed, the selection is great, the layout is nice, and the environment is very welcoming and comfortable and for the most part, the prices are reasonable.

Its hard to replace the original. The space is much smaller so the selection is smaller. But its still a great selection. Parking is easy. The service is great.

Im no artist, so when I want to do something in the Art World, like frame a cherished note, I head right to Flax. They are so helpful and interested. And if youre hungry, Greens Restaurant is right there too!

I wish they had higher end art supplies. There are two art colleges within 100 yards of the store, but this Flax location seems to cater more toward the hobbyist. The people who work at the store are nice and knowledgeable. It is also clean.
