The shop is beautiful and full of fascinating little and not so little antiques. I feel like I could spend hours going through all the small things with the curiosity and imagination of the child inside me. Mark, the owner, has a passion for the place that elevates the experience of being inside there. The Box SF lives and breathes stories from many pasts, and I absolutely recommend going there.
We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Box SF and I cannot give a more glowing review or higher recommendation. Mark and his team consistently went above and beyond for my husband and I. I was oversees for almost the entire wedding planning process, and so our booking was quite short notice and a little bit chaotic on our part, but the team here was extremely supportive and helpful. No matter the crisis, they stepped up and made sure it was the night of our lives. I can say I am a bride that loved her wedding. This venue is absolutely gorgeous but what really makes it shine are the people.
Amazing vintage shop for all things paper. Labels, games, books, posters.......so much its like going to DW, you are gonna need a few trips to even absorb the vast amount of stock.
Incredible collection of printed material and ephemeral.
When our guest count dropped suddenly my client wanted to choose another venue for her husbands 40th birthday, and The Box delivered immediately. In particular, Leslie Smith was outstanding in her customer service and swift receptiveness. We came in right away for a site visit and she was provided estimate, revisions and a contract quickly. In the end, the clients were super happy, the venue was the exact right fit for a speakeasy theme and Leslie and her staff were top notch--even on hand to help with the setup and well through until the end of the evening. Loved working with Leslie. Thank you The Box!
This Meeting and Events Space is in the former William Randolph Hearst Printing Plant. It is a beautiful loft like space on the top floor and has 3 private meeting rooms on the second floor and the ground floor is a 1800’s Country Store and Letterpress Shop with Millions of pieces of rare and antique Advertising, Tins, Labels, Books, Posters and Toys! They also offer some cool classes and workshops, as well as a very cool monthly networking event called The Art of Active Networking. It’s not to be missed.
I am a wedding planner who had a wedding here. This is a very historic and elegant venue to design your dream wedding. The amazing food, the awesome service as well as the romantic and intimate ambiance impressed our guests a lot. We all enjoyed the wedding here! Love it and highly recommend!!!
The space is Beautiful! This historic building has been utilized in such an amazing way with great staff. It also houses the best networking events Ive ever been to (The Art of Active Networking).
Leslie, the Event Producer and Venue Manager at The Box SF was an absolute dream to work with leading up to our wedding reception and during the actual party! She went above and beyond, assured us everything would go as planned, and not to worry about a thing - she was right! She took great care of us and all our guests. The venue was beautiful and so us - we couldnt be happier of how it all went. Thank you Leslie and The Box SF!!
Amazing! Ephemera collectors fantasia, from 19th century pharmacy labels to Linotype master type drawings, 1800s iron hand presses (aka letterpress) vintage movie posters, and much much more.Events and classes held upstairs.
Horrible space. I literally watched a guy urinate outside. He peeed like a pony! Went on for about 3 minutes. Right outside the door.Inside, the space is cramped and not very friendly. The staff was inept and the owner a monster. For every downfall they had there was an excuse. We regretted coming here from the moment we walked in.
Wow what a great space. The Box SF has it all great food, attentive staff and well organized! Great spot for an event. Definitely 5 stars
Odd location, as it’s totally unrecognizable from the street. There are no signs and nothing to indicate the space upstairs. However once you get in, there’s ample room and a cool ambience.
Quaint venue. Came here for a whiskey marketing event, which was cozy. Audio was terrible for the interviews, as the sound echoed immensely between the stage and the mezzanine, making it incredibly hard to hear if you are below on the ground floor. Interesting venue, nonetheless.
Was here for a corporate event. Very nice.
Elegant location for private events. Staff dis an excellent job.
OH MAN, this place rules. Late night fusion comfort food deliciousness. Love it.
