This exchange provide a good variety of products all at a single location making it super convenient for those who live or work on Coronados Island. Prices & identical to other NEX, but u high a higher chance of finding great deals here since less people shop at this NEX because of its on an island.

Amazing place, perfect for a family trip :)

Needs updating. One public electric car charging station for the entire base, and this is the state of affairs. Lame. Food court has been updated but they could do so much more for what should be one of the nicest bases in the US.

Big exchange compared to others. Well stocked with a variety of brands (both high and low end). Super clean and there was actually staff around to assist with questions, which is almost unheard of at other exchanges.

I love this place more than any other Base location. Quiet, clean, excellent customer service. A whole lot of selections. Great prices.

I havent been to too many Naval exchanges, so my view maybe a little biased. That being said this is a very nice store. They sell a bunch of stuff and toy can find pretty much everything you could need.

Your typical large 1-floor Exchange. its changed a bit since weve been here (if you call 4 years a change), but everything seemed clean and taken cared of, with sweet deals a-plenty throughout the store for both military and civilian alike. Worth looking into, with proper base access.

Nice clean space, customer service is great sometimes. Variety of items and great sales every now and then

The NEX was pretty neat, way bigger than most PXs Ive been to with wide selection.

Out of all the exchanges Ive been too, I would say this one is less than average. If youre looking for toys I wouldnt choose this particular exchange. The toy section (what little they have to offer) is in the garden section (which is confusing by itself). Took me about 15 minutes and a few employees to figure out the exact location. Also not much of an option for beach towels and blankets which is weird considering this base is literally on the beach....

Note: access limited to military/families. Well stocked for its size. Very helpful & friendly staff. Close adjacent parking. Adjacent food court & commissary.

Great selection. Tax free. Clean. Many helpful, hard working employees. A great go-to for all your essentials if you have access to military bases.

The best beaches! Loved the cottage perfect. Didnt want to leave. Cant wait to come back!

I went to Subway at lunch time. The food was good, but they need one more worker to speed up the process especially when you only have a half hour lunch.

Great day to shop the NEX! Needed a new pair of running shoes and while shopping an associate gave me a 20% off coupon as well as a $5 gift card. Score!!!

No surprise here. The Exchange is for all services and is always well maintained. No exception for North Island. Very clean and welcoming atmosphere. Kudos to all staff and management.

No KIDS CLOTHING, TOYS or Military supply section. They have all other basic needs. Men/Women’s clothing. Household goods. Electronics. FULL beer/wine/spirits section. Cosmetic dept. small shoe dept. There is a food court attached

Decent selection of items. Occasionally they run some really good sales. Nice food court

It could have more in the way of electronics, but a big NEX nonetheless with lots to offer

This is a pretty good size NEX with a lot of choices of all different kinds of things.

Electronics seems to be always lacking. Everything else is just a quick stop type of selection.

This post relates to every exchange, BX, PX, MCX, etc... that Ive visited in the last 30 plus years and does not reflect on the individuals working in the exchanges.Someone posted that the prices are a little high, and they assumed the navy service folk could afford it. NOT... Depending on how long youve had the benefit allowing you to shop in any exchange, you will get this post...1. Paying no sales tax is not a benefit provided by the exchange (its on federal installation). They should NOT be listing that as if the exchange provides that benefit.2. They price match at most of the exchanges Ive visited. Why is it they do that do you think...3. Their prices are based on a demographic that goes beyond the boundaries of the base. If they used the base demographic, prices would be much lower, and they could still do the other good things they do.In my opinion, today the exchanges only serve 3 useful functions.1. Convenience (proximity to those that work and live on base).2. They do put money into the base morale and welfare fund (or whatever its called today).3. Jobs for dependent spouses and children of working age, and sometimes even active duty personnel that need help to make ends meet. I still support the exchanges when I can because of reasons 2 and 3.Can they do more, absolutely, but then so could the VA. Theres too much compromise at the expense of those that earn these benefits.Im not bashing exchanges per se, its the system. It fails way to often, and most often when its needed most.

Not a good spot for infant and toddler stuff but a nice NEX.

Not as big as Navy Exchange 32nd st but still has good stuff tax free if you are a Government employee, it is on the Naval base so you need Government ID or retirement ID. They do have a food court, barbershop, and a few more specialty shops

Medium size exchange, they always do have some of the essential necessities.

A good portion of this store is simply illogically arranged and therefore it is often difficult to find what you need. A lot of the employees are not very helpful, not that they dont try. Sometimes I just want something cheap, but a lot of what they sell here is premium priced. Yes, the lack of tax helps out but other stores have better sales which more than makes up for it. Also, there are parts of the store which are still being renovated after well over a year of work. Having no nearby competition greatly benefits this business which would quickly close if located near near other stores that are more willing to fight for your business.

Smaller, less crowded version of 32nd st NEX

Well maintained and a large variety of items to choose from. The staff do not seem very happy and did not return hellosNot too big of a deal, but I can only imagine what an interaction would look like.

The NEX is great. Excellent quality items and nice variety. Helpful sales staff members too. The NEX was clean, organized, and updated nicely.

The NEX in North Island is smaller than the one in 32nd. Street Naval Base, but it depends on what youre looking for. All have the same prices and products. The Commissary is smaller and more cozy, way less crazy than 32nd. Commissary, friendly staff here at North Island. Check the times for closing hours, especially on weekends. By the way, movies on every Naval Base is free, check online for the movie listing of dates and times.

Theyve got a five guys. Thats amazing. The price of almost all items in this px are way more expensive than any other px ive been to. Youre better off trying to save money at retail stores.

No taxes! Convenient and it usually has what I need.

It was a good store they had everything. A little pricey, but I assume the navy service folk can afford it. It was a huge store, and like I said they had everything.

Watch out for the price they charge you at the cashier. Don’t assume that will automatically charge you the price they advertised.

The WiFi is the only suck part here. It’s very slow and hard to connect to it. What’s the point of having so many WiFi hot spots when they are barely working?

Nice that it isnt crowded but nothing for children and limited selection otherwise.

Engagement ring was suppose to be back in 15 days.. We were told after getting it sized.. Then it was oh no 15 business days so WE had to call them back and we might get it back 23 days later. Being in a military relationship is hard enough when your family misses special moments, much less when you dont have your ring for your one trip home you get to take after getting engaged. Completely ruined memories that should have been special.
