Great little store, lots of different types of candy! Really friendly and kind owner.

Mr Sun is the best. Seems to really like getting to know his customers. Every neighborhood should be so lucky to have a bodega like this.

The man who owns this store deserves the world. when I was a kid I would take spare change from my house go down there and buy all the candy I could. and I’ve never seen someone so genuinely kind i hope he sees this and knows I’m doing good and I wish him the world.

My parents, Henry Vaughan McLennan and Lenore (Mason) McLennan, immigrants from Scotland and New Zealand respectively, purchased this duplex in 1936. Only the upstairs living unit had been completed at that time. The downstairs did not yet have rooms blocked out. Expatriate friends from England, New Zealand, and Denmark volunteered to finish the first floor. In 1940 my parents converted the living room into a small grocery to earn more income during the great depression. There were no supermarkets in San Carlos at the time the store was established. I have added pictures in the photo section of them and the building at the time they purchased it in 1936. My parents sold the property in 1942. (apparently the photo section has accepted only two of my photos)

I used to go here when i was a little girl to buy candy on my way home from school or to get milk when my mom asked 30 years ago!!!!!. I am so pleased they are still there.

When working in San Carlos hills this is the only store around you can be in and out. As for sandwiches. I wont order them again no meat.
