Pedro was very friendly, quick, and helpful. He knew exactly what my car needed, and fixed it right away.
Over the years I come to take my cars in here for basic services such as oil change and brake fluid. I usually book the earliest slot during weekends so the wait is minimal. I have been through 2 managers whom I find understanding. I dont expect my cousin friendly but they are friendly enough. But there are always scary stories on social media about car repair shops that make me think twice including this shop. I am going in again this Saturday and from the phone call I made ahead of time, I can tell they probably have a new manager. Keeping my fingers crossed that they continue to deliver decent service for the moneys worth.BTW, their website is very buggy. However, the service they provide about car maintenance is decent and trustworthy.
50% off most stuff in store. Bought windshield wipers at 50% off what a great price. Workers were great. They are keeping tires and parts everything else must go by Home Depot in San Carlos. Get everything while supplies last!!!!!
Only one tech, nice guy but I needed to find the manager! Too difficult!!
I just called the tire service... I was super poorly attended, I asked who was speaking on the phone he refused to identify himself. I will record the date and time in case the manager is interested in identifying the worker who is not happy with what he does... maybe he is dissatisfied with his salary, I dont know... I just hope to be better served next time.06/09/2021 5:30 pm
Worse experience ever.. will never return to this store.. and I wont recommend anyone to go there. I bought 4 new tires a year ago from them and went yesterday for a flat tire which cannot be fix so I bought a new tire, I was there before my appointment time as they asked and after checking in they told me it will take up to two hours.. I was waiting in the store, other customer come and get their service done and leave.. I waited for more than 4 hours just to chang install one new tire.. well I asked four hours later and they said they couldnt find my paperwork and give them 10 minutes.. pretty fast they put my new tire in 10m and rush everything and I dont believe they did that free wheel balance that come with my service.. very poor service.
Great place and very big. Got my intake there but unfortunately I heard they were closing.
Made appt online for an oil change and got a call back that they were running a bit behind. Thanks for the heads up. They finished my truck in a timely manner.
This is a great store. I have been a lite Shopper here for many years. I havent had the occasion to have any Services done on my pick up here, As I am accustomed to doing the work myself. But this time I just wanted it done. After the work was completed (the truck ran so much better), in looking over the invoice I saw a charge that I was not comfortable with. I presented my thoughts to the manager, Gary and he agreed with me and I was refunded the charges. My Toyota is due to be serviced soon and I will be returning to Gary and his professional and knowledgeable staff. Honesty and truthfulness always win.......
A lot of parking available. Store very cleaned outside and inside. I walked in and immediately someone offered help to find what I needed. I ask a couple questions about the product and all my questions were answer. That’s exactly what I needed. Thank you so much...enjoy 😎.*So sad this location will be closing down.
Very nice and helpful staff. Plentiful choices for your car needs.
Daisy is the best customer service person i ever met she helps me to get the tires i needed for my car.she is so helpful and nice.thanks daisy
I have never had good luck with this location. Recently I ordered online for store pickup. Without going into all the boring details, I was notified that my order was in. When I got the store, it was not my order. The guy at the counter cancelled my order which I still needed and did not ask him to do. When I said I needed it he said it was cancelled. I asked if he refunded my money and his response was you can wait here for and hour and ask my supervisor when he gets in. I went down the street to OReillys They had what I need in stock for a better price. I am done shopping at Pep Boys in San Carlos.
Full synthetic oil change is $79 plus military discount compared to jiffy lube $109
4 hour wait for new tires and oil change and no communications on updates or progress.
Went for supplies, but retail is closed. Now tires only.
Good service and selection. Prices are OK too. Someone said they are closing July 2021. That sucks.
Tried to look for shocks but ultimately didnt care enough to cross reference part numbers.
I love the store, but i wish your workers were more people-friendly.
Pep Boys San Carlos on Britton and Old County. Store was recently reorganized. Right hand side mostly unchanged. Left side is more closely like entering the PBoys cave.I was looking for a new gas cap. Decided to find by walking around. Nothing. Desk person was more interested in his desk phone and cellphone. I guess my presence and asking where the gas caps was displeasing. Used the inventory computer to check. Went through the history of the western world to Id the correct gas cap which of course was not in inventory.
Like getting ripped off for car service? I know just the place! My company had there fleet serviced here before I joined the company. Shoddy work, work charged for that wasnt done, theyve got it all! Worst part, the people inside the shop couldnt seem more sad to be working there. This is a strong dont suggest from me.
They refused to honor the price that was quoted by an associate. The guy who “helped” me - his name is RC - was the absolute rudest, most disrespectful & unprofessional person I’ve ever encountered! When I told him that if this is how he treats customers then myself & my entire family (who have brought them our business for years!) would no longer be using them, he actually said “ya, that’s a good idea!”. The entire experience was horrible! You couldn’t pay me to go back there again! I hope a few bucks was with them losing a family of loyal customers 🤷♀️
Tire industry terrible service attention Pedro, for Gods sake, lets improve the way you talk to customers.
I had a good experience changing my car battery here. It takes roughly 40 minutes and the job is done cleanly. They might suggest some extra service but totally fine not to get those.
Got oil change, downloaded 25% off coupon. Staff very efficient and friendly. Pretty impressed.
Julio is great! I went in last minute during my work-lunch break for a flat tire fix/patch-up and he knew I had to get back so he made time for me and had it done less than 10 minutes. Always great customer service, and I def recommend this place over others. Julio Thank you!
Always great service. Super speedy and always great customer service. Only place Ill take my car for services.
No help told me store was closing
Stuff you need, still not meticulously organized.
The customer service was mediocre and the list of services to be corrected was incorrect with an estimate of $2000 for a brake job. I love how they did not show me the corrected actions needed but only by listing them on the monitor.Luckily my father had taught me about auto mechanics and I married an amazing Hubby that is also very verse in the world of auto mechanics. Plus I love numbers and I know that it did not add up! I knew that all rotors did not need to be replaced and that my alternator drive belt did not need to be replaced. In addition, I feel so very fortunate to live in the Bay Area that has many auto repair shops that are very honest and economical. I will not recommend Pep Boys to any of my family, friends, co-workers, or strangers.
They have been out of the oil filter that Im looking for her for the last 3 weeks
They refused to honor their own coupon. They charge more than Ive ever paid for an oil change. The manager said he didnt care if I stopped doing business with them. Completely unprofessional.
Tryin to stimulate the economy. Hoping for more clearance items
Great service. Nice people. Had an appointment at 8am for a regular check and it finished in 40 minutes. Had a loose rear light and got it fixed for free (saved $100 bucks!). Will definitely use it again.
All the one star reviews should’ve been an alarming sound to me. Unfortunately I was attracted by the half price quote they gave comparing to my dealership. After my car was towed there, guess what, they told me it’s a wrong quote! What I had to pay is doubled and in this case I clearly prefer my dealership.
I am still seething over the *unbelievably worst* experience I have ever encountered with any company (not just automotive service), which is preventing me from sleeping right now, so am writing this review to seriously warn others. I wish I could give negative stars!I had an appointment scheduled this morning to have a trailer hitch installed that I had purchased from the same company online. After scheduling our day around this install because they informed me they would need about 4 hours (even though we had an appointment), I receive a message after 1.5 hours telling me that they cannot complete the installation because it requires drilling and is too complex. Note that the part specifically indicates no drilling is required, so this is the first red flag.I go pick up the car and get a recommendation for a couple of hitch installers in the area. I ask if the part is in the car and the manager tells me that it is, so I go on my way - no drama, although internally I am annoyed because our familys day has been wasted and I get the feeling that the manager hasnt been straightforward with me regarding the installation. When I get in the car, I notice some packing material sitting on top of the new bike rack I had purchased, so I take a closer look and realize there doesnt appear to be a trailer hitch. I open the trunk and not only did I not find the trailer hitch that the service manager told me was in the back, it looked like an animal had torn open my new bike rack (see attached photo).First of all, why was someone going through the trunk of my car and tearing open a box of my personal property that had nothing to do with the hitch installation, especially when the hitch was delivered to the shop directly?! Secondly, why would you open a box in this manner (what if the contents needed to be returned?) and just leave it like that for the customer to take home?! They only taped it up for me after I came in to complain about the situation, but that was it - no apology, no regrets for our time or their mistake in opening up my belongings and rendering it possibly unreturnable, not to mention the possibility of missing parts now.And I wont even get into the issues I had with the order fulfillment process. As a side note, as I was dealing with this fiasco, I overheard another customer yelling at one of the associates, and even swearing, over some mistake or oversight regarding a shock installation, so clearly, I am not alone when I express how infuriated I am over this experience. The incompetence, irresponsibility and dishonesty - just shameful.
The service went very well. Gary U provided really good customer service.
Had nails in my tire, again. I have 20 inch tires that are not really a stock item. Karen at Pep Boys reassured me that they could handle this. They did. I needed new tires after inspection and confirming what they saw as unsafe. Not saying it was cheap, but well worth the piece of mind as I drove off. Thank you Karen, you give positivity to the name!
DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS PEP BOYS. I went in for an oil change, head and tail light replacement, two flat tire replacements, and radiator replacement. I left with only a new headlight, a used tire I had to add air to, and an oil change. I had two flat tires after I left and cant drive my car for more than 30 minutes without overheating because the radiator was not repaired. I have to fill the air in my tires all the time. I went back before I left though and service desk leader GEORGE told his repairman that worked on my car the tail light was out after he saw it was not fixed. Then George just argued with me there was nothing wrong with the right front headlight which was nearly burnt out and two cops have stopped me for. I am renting my car and the service manager told GEORGE I was supposed to get a replacement car but GEORGE did not know how that would happen. The service manager went home and I never spoke to him. I never got a new car and I have not been able to drive for more than half an hour at a time for the past week. I am a delivery driver. I am getting late notices about the car payment but the center rep told me she could not help me because she had to go home. covid 19 caused them staffing problems at the rental office. I never got a new car to drive and I am getting late payment notices now but I have no money because I have not been able to work due toIto disrepair of car. I have paid 19k to rent this car for a year. I pay 1600 a month in rent for this car. DO NOT EVER EVER EVER GO TO THIS PEP BOYS.
These guys are so friendly! And I’m touched by how one of the guys working on my car was deaf but he had fellow mechanics that knew ASL and they worked flawlessly together. Also, Jason, the British man at storefront is such hearty nice fellow. I don’t get why the star rating here is so low, I hesitated when I first saw it, but this is my new local favorite. Prices are a steal and service is hecka quick :)
My boyfriend & I went to this Pepboys to exchange a bottle of oil we had previously bought from this store & were treated like we were STEALING. Instead of being greeted and asked if we needed any help, we weren’t greeted or approached asking what we came in for today. Instead, once we reached the back of the store in search of the correct bottle of oil we needed and saw it was not there, we were about to leave the store. Once at the front door of the store, the associate WHILSTED at both of us to return back to their cashier station. We were then asked a series of questions because the associate had assumed we were stealing the bottle of oil we had come to EXCHANGE. We had the receipt which we showed to the associate, that marked the date that we had bought the oil. The manager of the store confirmed we had bought the oil earlier this week. In response, we received no apology and completely unprofessional, unwelcoming customer service. Do not go to this pep boys location unless you want to be treated like thieves. The level of customer service and professionalism in this store needs to be improved upon immediately. This was a highly unacceptable interaction and we will not be returning to this location again.
Very very bad service
The attendant named Pedro needs recycling. he needs to learn how to treat a customer. I dont think he should be on the front lines. tire service 06/04/21.
This is the shabbiest auto service company that I’ve visited, and I discourage Bay Area residents from turning to Pep Boys in San Carlos for service. My friend took her car in for a simple oil change. Four hours later we returned to Pep Boys to learn that they couldn’t find the work order and the keys. They questioned my friend about when she’d come in, who she’d talked to, and whether she had actually dropped off her car with them. The insinuation was that my friend was lying to them. After several more searches, three employees got into a debate -- visibly and audibly -- about which one of them was going to break the news to us; that while the work order and keys had been found, they had not serviced the vehicle! They were smart enough to offer a free oil change but not an apology for wasting our time or questioning our integrity.Fast forward seven days... I chose to use the same Pep Boys location for my own car oil change. After all, they couldn’t be this bad all the time, right? I pulled my car up to the “Drive up service” lane, next to the service bays, but received no drive-up service. So I walked inside, and handed over my details and car keys with the promise of service within 3 hours. I gave them an extra hour to be on the safe side. When I returned to the Pep Boys lot I noticed my car sitting in the same spot in the drive up lane. With a little anxiety, I walked into the store and was dismayed to hear that they could not find my work order!! Could this really be happening? In frustration, the employee (a different one from when I handed my keys in) even muttered “we lose work orders here all the time!” Wow, that’s quite discouraging as a customer, and it is appalling that such failure is accepted within the store’s culture! A number of searches and minutes later, the employee even turned his computer screen toward me to demonstrate that my car wasn’t logged into the system -- as if to tell me that they didn’t believe I had come in at all. And the employee that originally helped me check my car in said he didn’t recall me and my car!Eventually they found the work order at the same register at which I’d been served; it had barely moved. “It’s alright. We can get it done in 30 minutes!”, he said. But no, it’s not alright, Pep Boys. None of this is alright. Two awful consecutive customer service experiences? Unacceptable. This store requires a complete upheaval; a customer service re-training and work process intervention. Without it, Pep Boys in San Carlos is destined to lose more customers like me.And yes, Ive emailed Pep Boys Customer Service about this.
The first time when we scheduled an appointment for oil service and tire change 5pm, on arrival they told me that all mechanics are gone because they worked out all their hours. The second time, they took the car, the guy was promising to call me in 1.5h but after 1h50 I’ve decided to stop by and check the status and may be wait there. In order to check status I had to wait for 15m since the representative that I chatted in morning was busy but others didn’t give any status update to me. After 15m he silently did all paperwork 5m and finally said that car is ready. However, then mechanics took their role and didn’t do all that was discussed. It was asked to put new tire on the back but they didn’t bother it, so I had to go again and wait again. Edited. I waited another 30m but instead of putting front tires to back on both side, they put one front tire to the back. Those tire are different models and god heaven I spotted it instead of blindly trust them. I really think mechanics are the bad boys here. How it even come to them to change it on one side? Some managers are good here, Cole is not the one of them. A piece of advice: 1. Don’t trust they say about tire changes, expect phenomenal slowness 3h+ for oil change and tire replacement, check the status of your car regularly and better in person. I won’t recommend for my friends for sure, I do oil change in a different place usually, came here because it was part of hertz deal... at the end they put them back where they were, I just wasted half of the day.
Brought my car here to get a new battery and received very attentive assistance within the first five minutes. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Many thanks to Marcus at sales, and David at the service department. I even got a tour of the store while waiting for the installation of the new battery. The service areas are bright, clean and well ventilated. The store is well organized and offers a large variety of automotive products. Based on the quality of service that I received today, I will definitely consider bringing our cars here for oil change and other services in the future. Thank you Pep Boys Auto of San Carlos for a job well done!
Today I took my car to Pep Boys #827 on 1087 Old County Road in San Carlos, and it was the worst service that I have ever experienced at a car shop.I made an 8 AM appointment and waited in line and was not seen until 8:20. I finally get checked in for my oil change and showed them a $20 coupon that I got from their website. They told me to hold on to it until I come back to pay.For some reason, they said the car would take 1.5 hours to do an oil change. That is not acceptable when I had an 8 AM appointment and waited in line for 20 minutes before I was seen. I confirmed I would get a call back when it was done. 1.5 hours later I havent heard anything, so I walk back to the store to find out the car has been done but no one contacted me.I go to pay and am told my $20 coupon that was looked at when I checked in was not valid as they used a different kind of Mobile 1 oil. This is the most false and deceptive practice that I have ever seen and I think I need to report both Pep Boys and Julio for false and deceptive business practices with the State of California. Had I not shown an additional 30% off coupon, he said he would not have given it to me, though he looked at and confirmed these details with me when I checked in.I will never be back at this store. Do not shop here on account of their fraudulent bait-and-switch practices. Do not give them a dollar of your business.
Horrible customer service and slow service, especially when all the mechanics were on there phones and hanging out out. I went to Pep boys San Carlos with a 2 tire installation appointment at 2 in the afternoon. Walked in bout 1:50 and they set me up right away even showed me the tires were in the garage ready to be installed. Said it should be quick. I looked in the garage and no cars on any lifts and they were like 4 mechanics on the floor. There was no one else in the waiting room. So I sat down a waited. And waited I did. One hour went by before I asked whats the progress of my truck. Because I see the tires still on the floor and my truck is not even in the garage. I was told my mechanic just went to lunch and hell be back in half an hour. But theyll move my truck into garage. Yet there were other mechanics just chatting and doing nothing. So I waited another half hour and asked again because I see my truck in the garage and the tires still in the same place on the floor. The service rep checked and said ill look into it. Another half hour later I finally saw my tires moved and finally the truck was being serviced. This was 2 and half hours after I checked in. So another hour passes by and its now 4:30. And I had to walk up again and ask how is my truck. The service rep looks for work order and says oh here it is, its done. The whole time I sat in the waiting room obviously the only one there and I had to ask all the time the status of my truck. Horrible customer service and seeing so many mechanics on the floor and nothing being done for hours, pissed me off. The prices may not be worth it if your going to wait like 2 and half hours for service.
I asked to change the oil and screw on the bottom protector, but they did not even touch them and did not even put out the check light after replacing
Incredible service! My car needed a new battery, I took it in this week, and it was fixed within 10 minutes. The staff was knowledgeable and truly wanted what was best for my car. Highly recommend!
I needed an oil change for my Mini Cooper so we made an appointment online. That was probably the only positive experience we had with the service here. My fiancé brought my car in for a 6pm appointment, sat in the waiting area and 2 hours later was told the crew went home and they wouldnt be able o service the vehicle tonight. They offered a free oil change for the inconvenience (which was nice, but warranted), but now Im here 4.5hrs later after bringing my car in. They forgot to tell me my car was done and when I finally got it the check engine light was on. Rather then being helpful their first response was we only changed the oil, not offering to look into this. In short, the service here is really lacking, I dont feel taken care of and unfortunately I have no desire to return.
The best place to buy auto parts
After my temporary paper license plate fell off, I came in to pick up new fasteners - and then could not get them attached properly. Thankfully, Jason (service manager) came to the rescue and took the time to put my plate on for me - so nice! The service was definitely above and beyond. Thanks, Jason!
I wouldnt give them one star. The absolute worst. I went in Tuesday and the salesman said they had 4 tires in the size I needed. Showed up as soon as the store opened on Wednesday. They told me that they didnt have my tires but would upgrade to a larger size. After 1.5 hours I received a call and was told the tires didnt fit, but they would get some from San Leandro. I waited the entire day for the tires that never came.
This is a typical Pep Boys, relatively clean and well-stocked. Theyve got a service center, but also the usual vehicle self-maintenance going on in the parking lot. Theres a drop-off for used oil outside. Plenty of parking. Overall a better experience than the other auto parts stores in the area.
They damaged my pristine Ford Explorer on their lift. They caught the fender with the lift and pulled the fender out. I did not notice it right away as you have to have the drivers door closed to see the damage. When I picked up the Explorer the employee drove it around front and had the door open for me to get in and go. I went back the next day to report this. They said to come back when the manager was available. I did a couple of days later. A manager came out and took pictures. They reported it to their corporate headquarters who sent me a letter stating that they were looking into it. The letter is dated November 12th. They have not returned my many phone calls.or responded to me in any way since.Update: they will finally settle the matter at the end of February. It took four months but they made good on the damage to the Explorer. I am changing my rating from one to four stars.
My experience lies with being a collision estimator and running a service shop and body shop of my own. This place, is the epitome of everything I work for. They have a nice window where you can sit and watch then pulling your car 35 minutes after youve made an appointment online. Then they proceeded to not do all the things you requested... Ive had to go back to the account several times to remind them to check fluids! Pull my tire off and check my brakes like I requested!
Nico was great. He saw that I was looking for wiper blades. He assisted right away. He also went out and put the wiper blades on my vehicle. I was in and out of the store with new wiper blades on in less than 10 mins.
Have more then one person working the register when the like to pay is out the door. This is a consistent issue with the store and makes me shop elsewhere.
Ive been here several times for auto parts. The team is friendly and helpful. On this visit, I needed a replacement rear wiper blade for an older model Audi. Turns out its not a standard part replacement. One of the team members, Nico, solve this challenge on the spot, swiping out the wiper assembly from a new unit into the old frame. Problem solved on the spot. The team there also offered to help me add oil to my car, complete with paper funnel, and cautioning me against oil spills on everyday work clothes. In short, the team here on this visit was clearly delivering great customer service both with me and others customers visiting. It was a refreshing encounter in a big box store.
I bought a water pump from this pep boys. The water pump had some technical issues. I had 2 different people pull inventory for me to match parts description over the phone. Im writing this review because the pep boys stores in my area rarely ever give me this good service. Excellent job. 👏👏👍👍👊
Jason was helpful with diagnosing a car oil leak, recommended I replace the filter and saw me for a walk in when all other places were closed on a Sunday. 5 star service!
Every time I get my car’s oil changed here, there is something wrong with my car after and then I have to take it to another shop to get looked at/fixed. Thought it was a coincidence the first couple of times, but don’t think that anymore. Won’t be getting my oil changed here anymore.
I had an appointment at 3pm for a simple oil change. It is 4:15 and I am still here waiting for them to finish. What is the point of an appointment if it is so far off? It should take 15min MAX to change the oil, which means that they did the work over an hour past the appointment time! Great job Pep Boys, you lost a customer forever
The prices on tires are greatHad a 11am appointment, arrived 10mins early but it took them 2 hours to put 4 tires on. They had 8 guys standing around talking while 1 guy was doing my tires. Guess they dont know how teamwork goes.
Every time I come here, I end up having to wait about 15 minutes in line just to checkout. It seems like there is always only one person working at the register. Additionally, I often do an online order for in store pickup and I will get an email saying its ready for pickup. In reality, it is not there. Im not sure if this is a website glitch or an issue with the store specifically. I prefer AutoZone and OReillys instead.
Actually honored mfg warranty and replaced a battery within the 2 yr warranty for no charge. Wow!
Pep Boys San Carlos is now my #1 go-to for service and parts!!!They have beat out dealerships ... Which is not hard to do. But convincing a DIY like me to bring my car in for service is hard to do. They are knowledgeable, fast, reliable and above all ethical ... Especially Katie and her crew.
They were able to repair my car right away. Nice treatment and good communication about status. 100% recommended!
Dont get a modern car serviced here!Came for new tires, they used tires that didnt match the stock size despite initially confirming otherwise (BTW, the non stock size tires were also 33% more expensive than elsewhere). Asked them to redo with tires with stock size specs as they said theyd do originally, and they did so after some gnashing of teeth. Ok, problem solved, although a few hours wasted. Except...First time my car hit highway speeds after leaving, the entire ADAS (advanced driver-assistance systems; lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, etc) went down, and the parking break also no longer works.I brought it back to Pepboys who tried to argue it couldnt have been them, even though (1) car was fine for 48,000 miles before Pepboys, (2) car was not fine 10 miles and first time at highway speed after Pepboys, and (3) Subaru bulletin says ADAS failure is known problem after tire change. They said I should take it to the dealer to have it checked out. They eventually stopped arguing, actually investigated the problem, reset the computer in 5 minutes, and so far, all has been fine. Just silliness. Mistakes happen. No need for multiple rounds of arguing - just do it right the first time, or fix it when youve made a mistake.
Great customer service
You know this is the Pep Boys across from Home Depot in San Carlos. This place really used to suck. They never had enough people, the people behind the counter couldnt tell you the difference between a window and a tire. It seems to have gotten quite a bit better over the last couple years.. Cashiers need to stay cashiers and parts people need to stay Parts people, and thats where it seems to be. You can tell right away on the guys who know cars and the guys who should be cashiers. Had some of the best service today Ive ever had in there with a very knowledgeable young guy his name was either Nick or Rick I will search him out in the future.
Really poorly run. Had to go in 4 times to get my car fixed because they ordered the wrong part the first time. When they finally had everything they needed to fix the car they didnt text me when they completed the repair (as they said they would) and had I not checked on it after 2 and a half hours of waiting Im convinced Id still be at the starbucks down the road.Dylan and George were entirely unprofessional. A truly painful experience.
The clerk at the desk Helped a customer in front of me, and then when she was done went to eating a cookie and left me standing there. I had to get her attention in order to get her to look up some parts. This is the second time that I have received poor service from her, And I was so appalled by her lack of even unremarkable service, where I decided to do it will be when I don’t normally do them.I would hope someone from management side would attend to this poor quality in-service, and do something to improve it. I’ve been going to the store for a while years and this is the worst experience I’ve ever had there. I hope you Pep boys are listening.
I bought my battery there a year ago. They said I didnt need my receipt it would be on their system. I went to exchange it under the 30 month warranty because it leaked and was bad. They said it wasnt in their system that i had bought it there and that they had installed it and wouldnt exchange it. Also before hand one of their employees looked at it and said it wasnt leaking. I took it to Auto Zone and they were the ones that told me it was leaking and needed to exchange it where I bought it.
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Start if rainy season manager by the name of Julio was walking around parking lot helping everybody Installing wipers and lights.
Never again. Never never ever again. Even with an appointment I was quoted an hour and a half to swap 4 tires when I got here. Its been well over two hours and the cars still not done but I cant leave since theyve got it on a rack with the wheels off. Im being held hostage by incompetence and poor staffing. Never again. Avoid.
My first choice for minor diy car and truck maintenance
Went for an oil change with appointment. Waited for two hours after which I was asked to come the next day since they dont have a technician. They offered me a free oil change the next day which was quick. Since this shop was closed to my work location I gave this a try. If you are in a time constraint i would not recommend this place.
Nico did a wonderful job. Super helpful and all around great guy.
MAT, NEEDS MORE TRAINING IN CUSTOMER SEVICE OR HE SHOULD WORK IN THE BACK.
Awesome place even better ppl thank you cole and for sure the manger they really helped me out and fixed my car with reasonable price and good timing 👍👍😊
A couple of months ago, George at this location helped me find the right battery. A different pep boys had recommended the wrong battery. So helpful!I came back this past week because I had an oil leak, taillight out, and missing screws. They were able to fix everything in 30 minutes and even made sure there was enough oil before I left. So awesome, thank you Miguel!
Made an appointment for a basic oil change for 9:00. Checked in for said oil change and they said that it would take around 2hrs to complete. I cancelled and went to Jiffy Lube. Was out of there in a half hour. What is the point of making an appointment if you dont service at appointment time? Nobody seems to give a s*** about there job here.
Went for an oil change. Before that, I called to make an appointment. The person who answered said it usually takes 30 - 45 minutes, which sounds fair. When I showed up, the service person said we do not quote anything less than an hour. Ok... So it took about 1h 20m to get out of there. There was supposed to be other things done but were not.
I would like to congratulateJúlio Estrada☆☆☆☆☆ for exceptional service. Pepboys San Carlos.
Nico was so helpful and informative. Will always work with him for a pleasant and useful experience. Thank you!
I had scheduled appointment for change cars battery. Its told me to wait 45 minutes what surprised to take so long for a simple work. It took them 3 hours to take my car. Probably they first take car of friends. No excuse. In fact they was kind of angry when I complained for so slow unorganized work. Never again!
Good friendly staff
Ive had to return several times for the same job. Their deal for brakes and oil changes is cool and all but not worth the hassle. So many issues.
Poor service.
Went for an oil change with appointment. They asked me to wait for two hours. So appointment system doesnt work. Dont waste your time here.
Went in for an oil change today and was told it would take an hour. Came back 2 hours later since I didnt receive a phone call to find out they havent even started on the car. This was after I called to try and make an appointment for them to tell me that was not necessary. George behind the counter was unapologetic. I should have known since he completely ignored me for about 10 minutes staring at his computer before he even acknowledged I was there.
Service staff spent more time playing around than working on vehicles. Not a single technician was even touching a car while this was going on. Additionally I had to point to screw in my tire three times before the service advisor realized which tire needed to be repaired. I loved my pep boys in Denton, TX, this one does not impress me.
Do not bring your car here. Called the day before, scheduled an appointment. Got told after driving an hour here, oh sorry we only have one ase mechanic and he left early today. Maybe we could schedule some other day. So if you bring your car here, be aware that it will most likely be looked at by someone not certified, and thats if they decide to honor your appointment time at all. Will never be back.
Jason and cole and pedro really went out there way .to help me get a set of tires on and a alignment on my car ..last min but dont worries this crew went out of there way to help me get back on the road ..thanks again guys
I spent 90 dollars for engine diagnosis but only told to do recheck in dealer store. Rejected to request refund. Totally wasted my money and time.
AVOID PEP BOYS SAN CARLOS FOR ANY KIND OF CAR SERVICE! I needed my battery replaced because I had to be jumpstarted at another location. A work order was created for me and the battery has been pulled from the shelf. My car was pulled into the carport and I was asked to sit in the waiting room.I waited for an hour and only for me to be told that they dont have the special tool to start the job. Seriously? This was total BS because as soon as my car pulled in, the mechanic was already complaining that this would be a 2-hour job. If they didnt want to work on it because it was later in the day, Im okay with that. Just dont make a customer wait for an hour then give a lame excuse! I couldve gone to another place earlier and be done with it.This place has TERRIBLE customer service! Dont waste your time and save yourselves the headache!!!! I went to Wheel Works in Belmont immediately after I left Pep Boys and they practically rolled out the red carpet for me. Go there instead! Wheel Works is awesome!!
