Went there to put a remote start. The guys at first seemed very respectful, I trusted them to do a good job. What I got was not cheap. They told me 4 hrs to take it first thing in the morning, so I did. 4 hours went passed and I went to check on the car, but nope!!! They hadn’t even gotten to it! Plus I stayed there till it got finished and experienced the worse thing in my life! Men who didn’t respect a women was in the same room to disrespect another women. And not only that but my car came back not working right, the stereo doesn’t want to stay on, my dash flickers! I brought them a clean car and left angry and my car jacked up. Unbelievable. And unacceptable I expected better.

I was treated like a queen. The owner hooked me up. I got a very great deal on the Viper with engine startup back up camera bypass for my dvd player AMP Research mechanical running board detail seat cover application and discount upon discount plus usage of sic BMW for two days free of charge. Plus removal of limo tint from windshield. Just favor upon favor lavished upon me. So grateful for all who I encountered the last few days.

The worst place ever. If I could rate it a zero I would. I came in august of 2020 paid the same day for all my services, and here we are in February of 2021 and it’s not finished. They always gave me the run around and lied saying they ordered parts when they didn’t. They even broke my car door when doing my speakers, and my speakers that got installed from there blew out soon after. I was referred to as “the camero girl” (they were working on my camero) jokingly when I walked in to finish getting parts added to my car! So unprofessional! They seem to not care about their customers needs and they definitely took me as a joke. Worst experience I’ve ever dealt with at a car shop. Very stressful and inconvenient. Kevin is super helpful and he’s the only one who makes sure in straight at California sound. Don’t waste your money here I promise you’ll regret it.

I called 2 days before for an audio system for my can am, showed up the day of dropping off and they sold the audio system 😂 unprofessional. Don’t waste your time here people. Very disappointed.

The incompetence of this place is staggering. 2 days 9 hours and they couldnt install an amp correctly. I took my car in had THEM check out my system to determine the problem and they told me it was my stock amp. My car came with a bit of an upgraded sound system, nothing great, but nevertheless an upgrade; 4 door speakers, sub and small amp. 5 hours later my car was ready for pick up. My car sounded like I had nothing but 4 tweeters in it, my balance and fader were flip flopped, my sub had no response to adjustment AND a buzzing sound even as radio was off. Took it back in next day and sales guy Edwin trys to tell me that my sub can not be powered because they installed a 4 channel amp, ok Im confused, and tells me THEY didnt know I had a sub. How can you not know YOU guys inspected the system for the problem. I then switch my convo to Sammy the manager who says no problem we will fix the problem. 3 hours later they blame the buzzing on my wiring to my door speaker, says they have to rewire that speaker 85 bucks more, fine. Finally 4 hours later I drive off, still buzzing and now my sub sounds completely distorted. I call to speak to Sammy who has gone home for the day. Next day I call, after some researching I found out a car with 4 speakers and a sub requires a 5 channel amp, speak to Sammy who tells me my car is 1 in a million with a stock sub, bologna cus my suburbans have all had stock subs but OK, and that if I want to UPGRADE to a 5 channel to power my sub more money more money. Why, do I have to pay when you guys installed the wrong equipment to begin with. He says they did not, that my car is 1 in a million with a stock sub and that I would have to pay because I am the one wanting to upgrade to a 5 channel. He said my sub is working fine. I asked how is my sub working fine if its not being powered by anything. He said its being powered by your stock amp. I ask how if you guys said my stock amp was NO GOOD, he responds with, well my guys told me it was working fine. Bottom line if I want the proper equipment installed I would have to PAY MORE. Oh I took my car apart to inspect the upgraded wiring to my one door, NOTHING! From the amp to speaker wire splicing its the factory wiring! See pic below!

They were extant although they forgot if I bought something while putting in my station the fee would be free. As they put the stereo in I listened to it and wondered about the speakers I said it needed. So I bout the speakers and paid for there service I realized the stereo that was to go in it originally did work as it was brand new it just needed antenna.california sound fixed the lame installation the friend did with his own stereo that wasnt working either as there was no antanna.but now knowing my station was fine w/CD player..California sound is honoring there buy something dignotic check would be free.so there swapping devices with no charge...

I wife made a appointment on Tuesday or Saturday to install a new backup camera.. We live over a hour a way and when we showed up the young guys inside said I cant fit you in today. I said I made a appointment and showed him my cell phone call logs!! He said if you want to leave it I can probably get it done around 7 pm!! I SAID WHAT PART OF I LIVE OVER A HOUR AWAY DIDNT YOU HEAR!! I have done 3 high end car and truck systems with them in the past and never had a problem. I was a much better ran shop when Kevin was around!!!

Every vehicle I get I go straight to California sounds for whatever I need be it tent, alarm or beat they always impress me.I recently got a new car I let a Friend do my tent and its a mess, California sounds did the tent on my Focus in 07 and that tint still looks great its 14 years old and looks better than what I got 3 weeks ago.

This place is awesome. had my system installed a couple of years ago and about a week ago something started shorting out. They thought we fixed it drove it home shorted out again. They told me to bring it in first thing. They found the problem and its worked great since and they didnt try to sell me stuff I didnt need. I will definitely be taking my other truck there.

I have been a loyal customer of California sound since 2006 (when they first opened). California Sound installed speakers, subwoofers, amps, tint, capacitors and special customs on all of my vehicles. I moved out of the IE about 2 years ago. However, my loyalty remained with California sound. I recently purchased a German made vehicle. I called and spoke with Joe with hopes to have my tint installed, same day. Joe advised me to come in. He mentioned it will take a couple hours ( which is the normal time to perform tint). I returned to pick my car up and the tint looked great. I paid, got in my vehicle, pressed the push start and car did not start. My dash reflected Key not inside vehicle, when in fact the key was on my lap. I attempted this multiple times before I proceeded back into the store to advise Joe. Joe was as shocked as I was. He spoke with the tint installed who stated, I used the push start to drive the vehicle in here to do the tint. Once I was done installing I pushed it and it didnt start. So I used the second option and inserted the key to start the car. Im not sure what happened. Joe attempted to find a solution via youtube, after multiple attempts and about 20 minutes later Joe was unable to detect the issue. The technician who installed the tint walked towards Joe and myself and stated, I called my friend who installs tint and he said that happened to him before. These cars have a lot of sensors. You can take it to the dealership and they can fix it or reprogram the remote. I advised Joe that I do not have the time to take my vehicle to the dealership given my tight schedule. I requested a refund of $200.00 given they caused damaged to my vehicle and I am now required to take it to the dealership that will cost well over $200.00 to assess and perform repairs, not to mention the time it will take for the dealer to address the issue. Joe stated, I cant give you refund your windows are tinted. I expressed that my windows are tinted, however my vehicle now has damages/ defects that it did not have when I dropped the car off, in which now I must have corrected at the dealership. Joe stated, Take it to the dealership and bring us the bill. I advised Joe that live 2 hours away (in which is already knows) from California Sound, the dealership is 2 hours from California Sound in the opposite direction. I do not have time to drive two hours to the dealership, drive an additional two hours to California Sound, then turn around and drive two hours home. I advised Joe that I have been a loyal customer and spent thousands of dollars at this establishment for the past 14 years. If they were unable to perform the job correctly given its a foreign vehicle they should have said or disclosed the possible shortcomings up front. Joe shrugged his shoulders and said, Call Kevin (the owner) on Monday.I DO NOT RECOMMEND CALIFORNIA SOUND DUE TO THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM, INTEGRITY, AND CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY EXUDE WHEN THEY ARE AT FAULT. THEY TAKE ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THEIR WRONGDOING WHEN ITS A GREAT INCONVENIENCE TO YOU. THEY WILL ATTEMPT A JOB SIMPLY FOR THE MONEY, EVEN IF THE TECHNICIAN IS NOT EXPERIENCED. STAY AWAY... 14 years of service with zero appreciation.

Have solved all stereo related issues in my Lexus. I had taken my car to three other locations and only at California Sound did a group of professionals take the entire car into account. Together they discovered what the issue was and solved the problem, I am happy again.The gentlemen at CA sound are flexible, precise, and fair! I recommend them fully!

Zero stars! First of all my tent didn’t last a year and I went to get it fixed and they didn’t fix it because I lost my receipt! Like it’s been a year who keeps those that’s why computers where invented! There work sucks point blank period! Do not go there! Save your self I have to pay out the pocket now! And the guy that works there was a complete jerk and said some disrespectful stuff to me!!

I got my tint done a few years back at this place, which took about 7 hours! After 3 years the tint starts bubbling and looking purple. I went back to get it fixed and after hours of arguing with the manager or owner Joe he finally agreed to change my tint only if I paid for the labor $60 (even though the tint came with a so called lifetime warranty) I agreed to pay the $60 since I did not feel like arguing anymore. I took my car in Monday morning, I was the first car in. Joe told me it would be ready by 2 since they had to remove the old tint and replace it with the new, understandable. I came to pick my car up at 5 and was told that it would be ready by 7. I got upset. I had to be in Santa Barbara by 8 and was told it would be ready by 2. Only the back window had been changed by this time. I didnt understand what all they had been doing to my car for the last 9 hours. When I complained to the manager Joe he couldnt believe how upset I was and told me I could wait till 7 or take the car as is. I didnt understand how within 2 hours he was going to install tint in 4 windows but in 9 hours he couldnt get it all done. After arguing with Joe telling him how i couldnt wait and asking him why it had taken so long he became very aggressive and walked away throwing my car keys at me telling me he didnt owe me s*** and I should feel lucky he was even fixing my tint (even though I had to pay with a lifetime warranty on it) I dont understand how this place is still in business it greatly lacks customer service. Ive never had experienced this kind of treatment from a place of business. There was a guy standing next to me saying how he was there for the same thing, the tint job they did on his car was peeling off. Thats when I decided to leave, taking my business somewhere else. Im all for supporting small local businesses but places like these dont need to exist. They left all the trash inside the car but one of the guys who worked there was kind enough to take it out, you could tell he felt embarrassed for his boss. I told one of the guys there that the only reason I went there the first place was due to the good ratings thats when he told me that the 5 star ratings are from people that work there and some made up accounts. Smh

The guys here definitely know what theyre doing. Walked in there just wanted to get the windows tinted on my car and ended up coming out with windows tinted all Alpine speakers and two Phoenix Gold amplifiers and I have to say the car sounds great!

On 8/15/19 I took my truck to install tailgate backup camera. I already had license plate camera that was already installed very unprofessionally by stereo city on E street. But lets talk about this first. I specifically told them use all the wires I brought with new tailgate camera but after 1 hour they told me they cant use these. What I found later because there were not running the new wires and trying to hook with old wires. So these guys use the old wires and and installed the old camera as well. Now i have camera buth no full view and very disappointed with the service. What I learned do not go to E STREET no more.

I came in here wound up tight, and freaked out on these guys when everything of a big job didnt go-in the first evening perfectly. Unrealistic expectations they did do a lot thats bad ass. Was escalating the situation, still they were kind natured and stuck with their work until it IS perfect. That makes all the difference =] Thank you.

This is Bruno GMC Sierra 2016 I just went to California sounds and got hustled they sold me an amplifier that will supposedly give more bass to my system .I actually had a better amplifier than I do now I took my daughters car in also and for the amount of money that they charged and the things that I got does not equal since the beginning that I trade in my two subwoofers that I had before supposed to be the sound quality was going to be better and since the beginning he has not .All California sounds cares about is how much money they could take out of your pocket not how happy the customers is, Most important be careful with the manager he’s the one that tries to hustle customers more than any of them

Asked if they can bypass dvd on my bmw and they said yes. They didn’t let me go with out a $150 down. They said give them 3 days but never called me back to install item. I came and called several times with no definite answer from owner Kevin. until I demanded refund a month and a half later.

One of the worst and shadiest places Ive been too. I was driving around to get different prices on car alarms and after them telling me theyll put a viper brand system they switch it up before installing and say the alarm was actually vision branded. I had to call another stereo place (a guy I personally knew and was comfortable with) and ask California Sound for my keys back (which they would not give back AND KEPT DRIVING THE CAR IN THEIR GARAGE AFTER I SAID NO/NEVERMIND MULTIPLES TIMES) for them to drop down the price to what they originally agreed on. I still wasnt happy and wanted to leave and just I said Id think about it and come back later. They just guilt trip me by saying he already has his guys on it (three of his guys were standing around/or inside my car) who were previously sitting around doing nothing and now were just staring at us talking. After feeling extremely uncomfortable and Joespeh getting visibly irritated/angry with me wasting his time (no customers or other cars in-sight that they were working with) I dumbly said yes. The system they put in my car cost $40 on amazon and they charged $140 for it (originally wanted $200)(labor is not worth $100 when youre following instructions inside a box I couldve followed and done myself). To top it all off they told me itd be ready in 30-45 minutes but ended up taking 1 and a half hours with them constantly telling me four times it would be ready in 5-10 minutes when it wasnt and.....one of the employees literally brought out and started talking with a customer about the weed brownies that they cook up (right in front of me while Im waiting for my car). The replies theyre giving these bad reviews and these other full reviews that are five star have to be fake. Ive never felt so pressured to buy something and my belongings not returned when I asked for them back repeatedly. This place is a scam, a lie, and will overcharge you for every item you want to buy (as I observed with every customer walking in while waiting, they overprice an item and then give them a deal, which is still insanely overpriced). Im fully aware of labor costs but this is a whole new level of awful business. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Had my windows on my 2013 Corrolla tinted with limo tint on all. This Nov. Will be 3 years since they did them they told me Lifetime Warranty no fading, peeling, or bubbles. If this happened they would replace at no charge. This same day I also bought a Amp and speakers, I asked the guy if the Amp will work with my radio because I wanted to keep the original have no plans to buy a after market radio. He says of course! Ended up having to return several times they tried to tell me that my stock radio wasnt compatible???? I ended up just finding a video on YouTube and made the adjustments my self its worked perfectly since. Am 100% for sure they just wanted me to buy a radio from them, Continuing on the window tint I took my car in with my receipt and the guy quoted me $160 and said they couldnt do it at no charge. I told him I paid $120 orig. This is more than I paid be for??? Why have a lifetime warranty if your not ganna acknowledge it. I paid $620 total they probably ripped me off big time. Will never return.

Ive taken 3 vehicles here to have decent sounds installed...good price...no problems. I do a service too...plumbing...people want me to fix old plumbing fixtures. Mostly... thats putting good money after bad. Just replace it with new...then...I can warranty it. I cant see through walls so its difficult to diagnose whats leaking....electrical must be even more difficult at times...and cars nowadays are rolling computers...one miss hap and its a check engine light... Yet people are quick to write these negative reviews cuz something went wrong. And who are the guys that do a better job?...Tell us...so we can check their reviews.

The where extremely helpful and when i had a problem they made me priority and fixed it right away. They can be slow when it comes to install. But at least it was done right. I waited 5 months to write this review to give my honest opinion. And bottom line is im Happy!

Ive been here a few times and always got good service and good price. I got a complete alarm system on my Explorer and they fixed my stereo on my F350.
