Maybe it was an off day but our experience was terrible. All 3 pizzas were burnt. Not just overcooked, but there was a burnt residue on the bottom of the slices that was horribly bitter. Like the pizza oven isnt clean. There was a terrible jackhammering going in in the kitchen and was so loud my daughter had to cover her ears while eating and we couldnt conversate. The beer tap wasnt working, and the staff was not friendly at all. Also watched one of the staff make two salads with no gloves on. The concept idea was great, the execution wasnt.
Was in town for work and craving pizza so I ordered a regular Margherita pizza. 10 pizza for only $8.99, perfect size for one slightly hungrier than normal person. Tasted great and staff was friendly.
I should have read the reviews before ordering. This was a delivery order - 3 little pigs 10 inch pizza. The crust is super thin (so if you are hungry, consider going elsewhere). You would think that if the crust was thin it would get at least a bit brown - pale as a ghost and greasy. Will not order from here again. Also ordered a cesar salad (halfsies). If I had romaine lettuce, I could have made a much better one at home for half the price they charge.
Came in at noon on Saturday, ALL ingredients were Fresh and even new options. They cooked it to perfection! This place has turned a leaf and really made great changes! Love that they have Stubborn soda!
One of my favorite spots for pizza in San Antonio! I love the build your own process and flavor. I come 2-3x a month post workout 💪🏼
Tried this place for the first time yesterday and it had a friendly vibe. I found this place affordable, Especially since I made two meals of the personal sized pizza. I didnt have to wait long and it was hot, crispy & delicious. You can customize anything you order so youre sure to find something you like. I recommend this place for good eats and Ill be back at some point.
Our food was yummy. But we’ve been fans of this establishment for years- it’s gone downhill. Employees were not friendly, didn’t greet. There were 3 employees, only one was taking orders, the others were making themselves look “busy.” Dining area was messy. Prices have gone up. They took away their Coke Freestyle machines and have bottom of the barrel options. I’m sticking to the Pat Booker location, they’re much more lively or we’ll start becoming MOD regulars. So sad because I loved this place.
We went here for lunch today and I was overall pretty happy with the experience. They have a nice selection of vegetables and even have vegan cheese available. The girl helping us even asked if I would like for her to change her gloves before getting my cheese(other things had already been put on my pizza by this time but I was still surprised). It looked like there was also a good selection of meats but I wasnt really looking at those. The only problem I had was with the number of tables that needed to be cleaned when we went to sit down. I will definitely be going back.
Very poor customer service. Absolutely, dirty place. All the tables floor and employees were dirty. I would not recommend anyone to eat here. Employee treats you like; why did you come here? MOD PIZZA WAY BETTER THAN HERE.STAY AWAY PEOPLE.NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY AND TIME SPEND THERE
OMG! Do yourself a favor and get the Fire Bird pizza! Soo good!Took the wife here for date night Friday at 5pm. Place was empty. We had a Groupon for two pizzas with drinks for $16. No issues redeeming the Groupon. Place is very similar to a Subway but for Pizza. We got the Fire Bird and the Queen Margherita. The Queen was nothing to write home about ... bland sauce, not many toppings. Stouts has a much better Margherita. But the Fire Bird was one of the best pizzas Ive had in a long time!Music on the patio was loud and obnoxious rap. Intercom volume is turned up too high - jarring when someone speaks. Thankfully that didnt happen much since we were the only ones there.
This place has great customer service that is quick and kind. I would defiantly recommend coming here !! :)
Absolutely amazing. And cheap too. You get a good amount of food for what you pay
Best pizza and wings in the area. Will definitely be visiting more often. Our pizza was baked to perfection and the salad was fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this place!! Dont miss out on this!!
When I first walked in, was ignored for a good 10 minutes waiting and not greeted. After being finally greeted, I gave my order. One of the premade and one customizable pizza on cauliflower base (since they ran out of gluten free). Now, they do not warn you that with the cauliflower, half is burnt due to how delicate it is. When I asked about it, saying it was not right to spend around 10+$ for something half burnt, they offered to trim it off. Wasting away the extra money spent on that crust. Reluctantly, I took the pizza. As expected, it was mostly inedible since the burnt flavor overpowered everything else. The other entrees I got were decent and the pasta I ordered was so little and not well done. It was cold and overall not good. Throughout the whole transaction, the employees had a bad attitude and made the whole experience feel off. You could tell they didn’t want to be there. I felt nervous just to talk to them since they were so apparent that they hate their job. I am a regular a MODs, but didn’t want to drive far. Never again.
Nice and clean, first time here and Jaimie was super patient explaining the pizza/meal options. Build your own pizza with unlimited toppings, You cant beat that!!! :P Pizza was Super Delicious! Will definitely be back. :)
Good customer service, fresh ingredients. Will definitely come again.
I must say that from the moment that I arrived on St. Patrick’s Day that Jessica was very enthusiastic and fun. She made our pizzas and made our day. The pizzas were very tasty and I wanted to say THANK YOU to her as I’m from Cleveland and she helped make my time there memorable. I will be back!
10/10 its only my second time here and I love it!
My husband and I just had dinner here, we had heard great things about it and let me tell you, they werent lying. Best pizza Ive had this year and in a long time. We had the White Shroom pizza, the Queen Margherita, and wings. Both pizzas were amazing, wings were perfect as well. The crust is thin but baked to perfection and so tasty 😋 we planned to take half of the pizza home but it was so good there was nothing left, lol! No regrets!!
Pizza was fresh and tasted amazing. The preparation time was crazy fast and they had so many choices to customize your pizza. They also had dessert highly recommend trying it, it came with banana, chocolate and powdered sugar. Had a similar sopapilla taste vibe going so if you enjoy sopapillas youll love the dessert. Restaurant was very presentable and clean and the staff was great !!
The pizza crust is RUBBER and very HARD TO CHEW! My jaw was in pain as I was chewing the pizza. This establishment is a terrible choice for pizza. I ordered the unlimited build your own pizza and they were very stingy with the ingredients; I left this establishment still somewhat hungry. You would think the price would be cheaper due to the lack of quality, but it is still more expensive than Pieology, Pizza Press, and other DIY pizza establishments I have visited. The staff seems to not know what they are doing and are just as confused as the customers. Im pretty sure I am still chewing on this pizza.
I go by the Latin critic I go to new places I havent been and give my honest opinion. So Urban Bricks Pizza(LA Cantera) claims fun energetic atmosphere with 2min cook time pizzas with fresh ingredients. Well walking up there was 4 dirty tables and it wasnt even a 1/4 full. Places looks nice you could barely hear the music and all TVs were off.so walk up greeted by 2 gentlemen (no smiles) and I say its my first time there no different reaction. Ordered top 2 pizzas(as recommend) 3 little pigs and white mushrooms then told ran out of bacon/chicken which both need.substituted it with Italian sausage/Canadian bacon.came out about 5min later which no compliant but some slices barely had anything on it(as photos shown) pizza was cooked well(like the char) but taste was OK missing something.overall experience not a fun/energetic place or atmosphere (When I was there) and pizza was OK I wont be back but definitely try for your self.many restaurants close so support your local ones even if one time.Thanks........
This place is great, the staff is so friendly and helpful and their food is great!
Super nice and great service ! I recommend the wings and their gluten pizza is amazing !
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! Sadly we cannot rate this experience on 1/29/2020 with zero stars because that is what it deserves. Starting out we requested a foundation pizza where we wanted to add just a few more toppings, but the preparer was just preparing the standard foundation pizza. We understand that completely and we agree to what the manager was explaining to us, but we just wanted a few more toppings.....that’s all! The manager kept explaining over and over.....again......we understand, but we just wanted a few more toppings!! LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER!!!! If we have to pay more for it....THAT’S FINE!!! My salad was requested and paid as a whole request, but served as a half bowl! For what we paid didn’t compare to the quantity that was provided. We brought the salad to their attention and fine they switched out and as I was willing to pay for extra salad additions, the manager was wondering why I was standing there with my salad bowl waiting for the extra toppings and when he spoke to the Team Member, I was able to tell the exaggeration in his face that he was kind of upset about what he explained repetitively to us before......he rolled his eyes and made of a face like he was smelling his underwear! We just wanted to get a pizza and salad!!! During the time the manager was explaining the order request after we understood it the first time, he stated “well, the next time on your visit request for a build your own pizza instead of a foundation pizza”.....how could we do that if we are not even going to come back here Mr. Manager?! Best of luck on this endeavor!!
This was my incredibly disappointing. We are visiting from out of town and ordered 2 pizzas, cheese sticks and cinnamon pizza . The cinnamon pizza came with no drizzle and was incredibly thin and cold. It was just crust with cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top, partially cooked. The cheese sticks were literally barely cooked and had a splotch of cheese on them and didn’t come with any dipping sauce. Both were truly inedible & we couldn’t even eat them. The pizzas were also undercooked but we both were so hungry we ate some them but the crust was still complete dough on the inside. Definitely would not recommend to anyone after this experience.
This place is good, but they served my husband and I burnt pizzas. I could knock off the edge, but the flavor of the rest was compromised. They immediately cleaned the oven after our pizzas were made, but that doesnt help us. I wanted to complain, but the manager was super sweet and was already having pizzas taken back by others. They didnt put much care into the gluten free pizza, either. Just treated it like any other pizza. I took the impression it was a new girl, so Ill forgive that, even though my body paid for it the next day. It wasnt worth the 30 bucks for two small pizzas.
Great service i am not very fluent in english and they were very patient and had someone who could help with the language barrier .
This is our fave, go-to for pizza. Friendly staff who makes it just the way we like it.
Great pizza, better customer service. I was served by Samantha and she went above and beyond her responsibilities. I want to recognize her work ethic and the value she adds to this company as well as commending the business practice at this location. I will go out of my way to purchase from this business again.
The Cesar salad was better than their margarita pizza. Very doughy and under cooked, skimped out on the sauce and the toppings.
Waited an hour for delivery. Delivery driver dropped it off at the wrong apartment. When I called Urban Brick, they took no responsibility and said they wouldnt refund me even though I never received my food. I ordered through their website but they blamed the driver from Door Dash even though I ordered through Urban Brick and NOT Doordash.
Urban Bricks had the best hospitality this afternoon. They took special care to make our orders to perfection on this gloomy day. A major plus is that the Big Daddy Mac tasted PHENOMENAL!! Thanks everyone for making my day that much better.
Fast and great tasting pizza! Very friendly staff as well. Love this place.
The 2 employees working provided really great service! They were out of wings and pasta when we came this time, but settling for pizza wasnt bad since the pizza was delicious. Really solid portions for the price. Will definitely be back to try those other items. Would reccomend trying this place for sure.
For those with celiacs and gluten allergies be careful here. My ticket clearly stated gluten allergy, the waitress confirmed and I was given a regular crust Needless to say I got very sick for a week. I let my guard down and trusted this place. When called to tell them what happened they seemed very put off and even argued. I can’t believe how unmoved they were about the mistake. Food allergies are serious and can be life threatening. Very disappointed!!!
Ordered a million dollar pasta and a build your own salad. I love the prices, the urgency of my order, & the food is amazing!
Why would a company destroy its own concept? Greed, I guess. Or maybe the concept ultimately failed. Urban Bricks used to be a chipotle / subway method of designing your own pizza; now it charges per topping until the tiny pizza is expensive and then it is unlimited. So you pay extra to use the whole concept of the place. I get it - the little leaves and veggies are expensive even though they all make one pizza worth regardless. But now it works like any other pizza place, just smaller and costlier. And since the people making your pizza are out in the open they ask you to tip them unlike the people running the kitchen in a traditional pizza shop who are doing exactly the same job. No real reason to come here anymore.
We have worked with Urban Bricks the Rim for a few events. They never disappoint. Always on time, and the residents love to see them. We have Urban Bricks the rim team scheduled for a few events coming up and we couldnt be more happier. Great pizza and pasta. The team at Urban Bricks the Rim is always happy to help and offer great service. Highly recommend for your next event.
Sign on the door said under new management. Should have been a big tip off! Staff seemed confused and disconnected. Staff was very young with no adult supervision noted. Several customers appeared not happy with the service. I had a whole with unlimited toppings. Pizza was actually very good. I hope they can get their act together.
My wife and I loved the food here. Pasta, salad, garlic bread, and pizza tasted great. Great staff and friendly.
Excellent pizza and excellent service. Clean and welcoming as well. Recommend this spot as family friendly. Also great for a quick pick up and go as the pizza is made well and quick to go.
Pizza was good. Staff are kinda slow, but then again we usually go during the evening. Once, there was a young guy who looked and acted like he was high out of his mind! With the fact that they have a B/88 rating, its really nothing to get crazy about.
Staff was very friendly and the pizza was really good.
Wow this place is a great bang for your buck.Delicious, fast service. The employees were very very nice.UPDATE: you get a free desert pizza for reviewing them and !!He went to the store to get bananas for me!!!!
Worst pizza i’ve had in my life.
UB has a really downer vibe. Line moves slowly, and they always run out of ingredients. There are too many great options locally to be wasting your time and money here
Dont go there, poor taste
Very disappointed with this Urban bricks. The quality has gone down so much, and customer service is absolutely terrible. The employees had zero energy, carrying full conversations with each other instead of paying attention to the customers order. After I paid, before I was about to sit down, pizza was ready (2minutes). It was as not cooked properly!! And I didnt have that many toppings on the pizza. I realized the pizza wasnt cooked when I got home (it was a carry out order) otherwise I wouldve chewed them out!! Never going back here again. MOD pizza is so much better
Excellent service, great staff, awesome pizza!
First time here and very impressed! Started off with the greeting from super friendly and extremely helpful staff. We ordered pizza and pasta to go and both came out perfect even after 20 minutes ride on the way home. Pizza was on point. They did not skimp on the topping! I was skeptical about the alfredo pasta but honestly, it was better than a few Italian restaurants weve eaten at on a regular basis. Definitely going back for more. And thank you guys for being so friendly to us.
Ive been here twice before and it was good. Today was different. All three pizzas had a strange flavor to them. Employees were yelling things out loud and arguing. Restaurant was dirty. On google it said scheduled to close at 10pm but manager was tired and closed at 9pm instead. I will try again...hopefully today was just one bad day.
Wonderful pizza. Great taste an great crust. Well for sure visit again when we come to San Antonio. Employees were super friendly.
First time at this location and the workers were very welcoming and accommodating to my pizza needs.Recommend getting the build your own!
This was awful. Between the customer service and the pizza. I won’t be back. No one knew what was going on. Then someone’s pizza messsdd up in the oven and they made that customer go to the back of the line... there were 15 people in line. Like seriously, if that was me I would have asked for a refund and left. The pizza quality was poor, we got wings and they were soggy. Waste of money. Won’t be back.
Not good at all. I thought the LaCantera location would be exceptional. These guys were a discredit to what i expect from this chain. Old tomatoes, no spinach, brown discolored lettuce, very bad. I will never visit this location again
Poor service, extremely rushed and not paying attention to detail. Staff seemed high, but not on marinara.
First time to try it,restaurant was dirty, staff acted like they would be anywhere but here! Baked zita was cold and the cheese on the salad tasted bad. Wont be back or recommend this location.
Place has gone downhill since new ownership. Meager portions on toppings, service is slow, sometimes closes long before the posted time. Taking my business to Mod instead, and I recommend everyone does the same
Good experience and good pizza ! Beware, if you order the chicken wings they will pull them out of a Tyson buffalo wing freezer bag (the ones in the freezer section at the grocery store) and heat them up. If you dont mind paying for frozen chicken then its not a problem.
I have eaten here on several occasions and everytime it has been a pleasure! Pedro always greets me in a personable manner! The food is always delicious and is served in a timely manner! I will always come back to this location! Thanks Pedro!
Great atmosphere, staff was very helpful with there menus. I had the three little pigs and it came out great highly recommend this place
Wonderful place and great food! Jessica was very helpful in helping us on our first time here!
I went to this location for lunch on Saturday, April 13th, 2019. The place was not crowded, but the line was moving at a snails pace. Two people at the front of the line of about 8-10 people had very meticulous orders, and the place appeared to be short staffed. Then too, the toppings had not been well prepared - so the vegetables had to be torn apart by hand to put on the pizzas, and that slowed things down quite a bit.Only one of the two ovens was operating, and it stayed full. So we had to wait to get our pizza into the oven after it was prepared and we had paid. When it came out the dough in the center wasnt cooked, and they sliced it very poorly. You literally had to tear it apart with your hands. (The flimsy plastic knife wouldnt cut through the dough.)The biggest turn off was the filth. I mean everything about this store was gross. The food areas were dirty, the servers had food all over them. Tables were dirty, chairs were dirty, floors were filthy. The mens room was gross. I asked for a knife and fork to try to cut my pizza - and was directed to plastic bins at the back of the dining room. They were nearly empty - and they too were filthy. (They are putting clean plastic utensils into filthy plastic bins!)Finally, the pizza was just not great. It had a strange taste - like some seasoning was missing in the dough or something. Dominos thin crust is much better tasting and better priced. This is a great concept. Unfortunately the owner(s) and/or the manager just dont seem to care about operating it with excellence. I would NOT recommend anyone go here. This place deserves to be shut down by the health department or put out of business because of the poor food quality and poor service.Scrolling through the reviews here I notice that whenever someone says something negative, the owner comes on and says were looking into it. What does that even mean? You have our names. You could offer to make it right. You could be specific about what youre doing to make sure we dont encounter a filthy store. You could fix the app that people are complaining loses their order - and tell them what you did to fix it. You could explain what youre doing to train the staff, fix the strange taste that people are complaining about. This is not rocket science. Looking into it is not going to get you better ratings or win dissatisfied customers back.
Really great service. Fast ordering. Fresh options.
So at one point I would have given this place 4 or 5 stars but the last couple of times weve visited the service and cleanliness has REALLY suffered. Today they werent even busy and the tables were dirty and the freestyle machine had more unavailable options than available ones. When I let the staff know the response was lackadaisical trending toward annoyed at being bothered. Given that the alternatives to this place are cheaper and offer better variety and service I wont be coming back here if it can be helped.
They have really good pizza and great service here! The people who work here are very friendly and helpful.
I love urban bricks the pizzas never get old. It’s a great place to go with friends and family
Pizza was just okay. Bacon very fatty and tough to chew. Out of many salad items and sausage for pizza.
Make your own pizza with as much extra cheese/sauce/toppings for a very reasonable price!
This place is the bomb, all the employees are chill and the atmosphere is clean and laid back .
Love this place! Definitely a go to place in the Rim for lunch and dinner! Salads are great and their pizza is awesome! Best part, they deliver too!
I loved the service from Kaila and Jessica. They made it a nice experience!
Order was quick, pizza was amazing. Love it!
This was a second choice tonight. 1st choice had along wait. Started off fine. Young guy took our order and made the food as we specified. Then it just went downhill from there. They were having technical issues with their POS, which happens. Not a big deal. Went to go use their fancy handwashing machine, and it only half worked. Soda machine wa as a disaste . I pushed the button for carbonated water and it got stuck and would not stop running. My kids tried to get Sprite and they said it tasted like water. There was no carbonation for any soda. In the napkin dispenser there were cocktail napkins. To me it seemed like they are about to go out of business. The pizzas we fine, but I am concerned that if they cannot afford napkins that fit the dispensers or CO2, then is the food fresh. It is either they cannot afford these things, or the management is bad. Not coming back. Too many other choices nearby.
Urban Brick Pizza was great, very similar to Mod Pizza in which you pick your base pizza and add any toppings you want. Great service and taste!
Kind of disappointed in my first visit. The toppings on my pizza were sparse and it was burned. I thought maybe since over done (burned black in some places) that they might offer to remake it instead of serving it that way.
The pizzas good, lines not to long and pretty fast service
Food and service are always great. The app kinda stinks and didnt put my order through though.
The staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful.
Pretty good sandwiches. The workers are super nice too. I got the caprese.
Employees very friendly and helpful. Area is very clean and food came out fresh and the way I like it: correct.
Everything was great..it was a lot like a Subway for pizza. I would give it a high rating, but my standards for pizza are high when it comes to 5 stars.
I used to love this place. Ingredients were high quality, service was great, cheap pizza yet outstanding results. However, the past few times I have been to this location have been disappointing and continue to lower my want to go again. The ingredients have mostly stayed the same in terms of freshness, however they occasionally change small things. Most recently being the thickness of their pepperoni. No complaints there. My main complaint is with the employees.Having worked in food service before, I do my best to not put pressure on workers in a fast paced work environment. However, the employees I have been seeing have a serious lack of training before being put out onto the floor alone. One visit, a young girl slightly tripped while carrying my pizza crust to the next area. The crust accidentally brushed the underside of the tabletop, smudging it a bit. No matter how well the place is cleaned, I dont think anyone would want that particular crust after witnessing that. She did not understand why I asked her to throw that crust away. This says to me that she had not gone through a food handling course, or was handling food before going through the course. That crust was then served to the next customer.Furthermore, my latest visit was just frustrating. I had to repeat that I wanted a build your own or neopolitan type pizza over 4 times to the man. It was not busy or loud in the building, it seems as if he just did not understand what I was saying. I had to repeat what ingredients I wanted multiple times, more than three times per ingredient. Beyond that, he placed dis-proportioned amounts on my pizza. If I asked for basil, he piled it on. If I asked for extra pepperoni, he put 6 slices on. I asked for garlic, he was about to put half the bin on the pizza.I can understand being nervous in a new job, especially in food service and dealing with customers, but that was underwhelming to put it politely. This location has started to diminish in quality, as they have removed their freestyle soda machine and replaced it with a standard style with the claims that the freestyle would break down often. One of my visits, the new machine wasnt working either. They used to have their own style pizza boxes, and drink cups. Now they have some generic pizza box and cup. They used to carry some drizzles but no longer do. Instead of replacing the sign that shows what they have, they either use tape or markers to block off what they dont have anymore. It looks unprofessional, and would not be costly to replace. Considering they just had their main menu signs replaced not long ago, along with the front overhang, I can imagine a small sign can be changed out too.I love their food, but this place has gone down so much in quality in the past year that it has been negatively affecting not only the food, but the experience as a whole. They either need to train their new employees longer, or hire better quality workers if they plan to put them out onto the floor quickly.
Very good pizza & friendly staff. Very clean as well.
Great Pies and Desert pizza is super yummy.🤤😛
