If you don’t like their service, just don’t tip? It’s an ice cream shop, not a restaurant. I see many people giving one star reviews on here just for service. I say, give them a break because they’re probably hiring teens that are learning customer service. Take Brindles for what it is - a dang good ice cream place. Have patience, and I promise it will be worth dealing with the moody teens :)

I frequent Brindles with my family and we love their ice cream. As we also like to support small businesses, we always enjoyed this place. But what happened tonight is disgusting and I am sharing my experience as I dont want other valued customers to be treated the same way.When I came in to the store both the ladies were helping customers, a group of about 5 people, and one of the ladies told me she will be back with me. As the customers took time, I stood there and waited for about 15 minutes. During this time the second lady, who also was operating the cashier, was also serving the same customers but mainly the other lady was the one who was preparing their orders. As the cashier was at times just standing and talking to the customers while she saw me waiting, I was wondering why she did not tried to give hand and help me. In anyway, I was tired and decided to take a sit while both finish with the customers. After I sit for about 5 minutes, two new customers came in and the cashier instantly came forward and started to listen to the new customers. As this happened before I even stood up to tell the new customers I was waiting before them for service, I was dumbfounded why this lady did not want to call on me as she knew I was waiting for a service. And worst of all, if she was able to help in between customers, because the former customers were not yet done as she came forward to help the new customers, why was she not able to do the same with me when I was waiting for 15 minutes.The acts of the cashier is not only unprofessional, it is no less than discriminating between customers and thats why I decided to leave the store without buying anything. It is disgust and should not have a place in this lovely store which I enjoyed their ice cream for a long time. I will miss their ice cream as I will never come back to this kind of poor and inappropriate customer service. I hope the manager addresses this.

One scoop a piece of Coffee Heath flavored ice cream to-go on waffle cones. Being a coffee lover we had to try it. This ice cream was sooooo good and the service was super friendly.

Brindles lives up to its name and has awesome ice cream. My wife and I each got a two scoop cone. Mine was brindle with dark cookie dough in a oreo cone. My wife got the mint chocolate chip and cookie dough. The ice cream was bomb but the cones extremely fragile which made a huge mess. The store could benefit from some inside signage. There is no menu anywhere, nothing explaining one side offers gelato and other ice cream. I also saw a cold stone, which i still have no idea whether I could of ordered mix-ins.

They have a great variety of ice cream! So many to choose from! You cant really go wrong as their flavor has high quality. Love to come to support this family business. I really like mango so thats often one of my scoops.

I’ve been going to this ice cream shop since I was a kid ( I’m 24 by the way) and over the years I feel like it JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER. Flavors are immaculate! Workers are nice and helpful! There’s one flavor that I would literally die for because it taste like God himself made it. It’s called the lavender & honey and they had it only for a little bit but MY GOD! It is one of the best tasting ice creams I’ve ever tasted! Please Brindles if you see this review please bring it back!!! .

My husband and I took our kids to Brindles Ice cream parlor at Huebner Oaks. They let my kids chose their own ice cream it was so cute. We didnt even finish the ice cream but my husband finished it for us.

My family have been going to Brindles since it opened and we really have enjoyed. The ice cream is the best in San Antonio, the favors are amazing and thats why we have been such loyal and supportive customers. We also love that its local and we love supporting locally owned business. So it hurts to report that it seems things have been not going well in our 3 most recent visits this summer. First, the tables are filthy, full of sticky melted ice cream. Its gross. How about taking a rag and some hot water and wiping them off? Next, we arrive about 2 hours prior to closing and 3 times in row no waffles cones! I was told I should arrive earlier. Brindles thats the wrong answer! Make more waffles cones, they arent going to spoil if you dont use them all in one day. All these issues are a management failure imo. Brindles, this is an easy fix, wipe down your filthy tables and make more waffles cones. Dont tell me about an employee shortage, there were 3 employees there, a scooper, a cashier and a third person walking in and out of the back area. We are absolutely willing to keep getting our ice-cream fix at Brindles we want you to succeed but we dont want to give you money if you cant nail a few easy basics.

Flavors are delicious and varied. Service is friendly. Establishment is clean. And they offered my dog a glass of water. Will come back 👍🏻👍🏻

Ive come in several times. Ice cream is pure quality, made in house, and tastes great. However the customer service needs attention. Especially the woman with the red hair. She can at least pretend to like working. I didnt even get a thank you or have a good day. Its not fair to the business owner who sacrifices a lot to stay open. May the employees here improve their level of service and respect the owner.

I normally like Brindles but today the customer service was just horrendous. What is with the red headed girl and her horrible attitude? You have multiple bad reviews commenting specifically on the red heads attitude and nothing is being done apparently. She was so rude to my boyfriend today and its making us never want to go back again. The other girl working had to apologize for the red heads behavior. I see no comments from the owner on this.

First time here. I was looking for good ice cream to cool off in this Texas Heat. I got a small, which is 2 scoop. I tried Vanilla with almonds and strawberry. It was so good and refreshing. I could take the fresh strawberries and vanilla beans. I tried their goat cheese and it was good. That will be in my next trip. Overall this is a great spot of you are a simple person like me, vanilla & almonds or if you like to mix, match and have exotic flavors!

I will never return. The employees looked VERY annoyed that me and my daughter didnt know what we wanted immediately, even though we had never been here before. They gave us no information and rushed us through the whole process. Didnt even let us know what toppings they had if any at all. I have never felt so uncomfortable ordering anything in my life. It was a young male and a red headed female. They just stared at us with angry faces while we were trying to figure out what we wanted. We felt incredibly rushed.

This is based on the service by the female with red hair. And going by other reviews on here, it’s a common occurrence. I went in around 630pm yesterday, she looked annoyed when I mentioned I wanted 2 pints of ice cream. I asked for chocolate MIXED with oreo, she filled the pint with chocolate then sprinkled oreo on top and closed it, is it suppose to mix when it melts? I had to remind her about the 2nd pint and that annoyed her even more, I asked for half of 1 flavor, then the other half a 2nd flavor. She filled the pint to the top with the 1st flavor then tries to squeeze in the 2nd flavor, seriously!?! The pint was a complete mess on the outside and the other employee when I went to pay kept apologizing for the behavior, which is not right! If she’s annoyed by customers, maybe she needs to work in the back with inventory and stocking. I love that Brindles is locally owned as I support local business. The service provided by her was horrible.

Brindles was recommended to me by friends and I have to say that it was definitely worth a try, prices are good and the flavor selection is pretty exotic for the most part. My favorite has to be their cherry flavored ice cream.

They had a pretty decent amount of gelto and Ice cream to choose from. I had blueberry cheesecake ice cream, and it was good and not too pricey.

Best ice cream! The new flavor was Avocado Orange, it tasted like the old school Flintstones orange push-up with a hint of avocado. It was so good, paired it with Azteca, the cinnamon from the Azteca over powered the flavors a bit, but still so yummy!

According to friends, Brindles Awesome Ice Creams is worth the wait. I have to agree. If you are going for just an ice cream cone or cup it’s an easy thing. If you want to order lunch or maybe a sundae getting a table could be tricky. We got there at just the right time and didn’t have to wait in a line extending out the door. We also got a great table. Sandwiches were excellent. You can also pre order your ice cream with your lunch, return to the register without waiting in line again and pick it up when you’ve finished your sandwiches.

I really enjoyed this place. I cant stop taking about it. The flavors were so awesome!

First time there, not sure Ill be back... Ice cream was good and lots of flavors to choose from, but customer service was sorely lacking! We arrived an hour before closing, but the OPEN sign was turned off and some chairs were already on top of tables and the place looked closed, but I tried the door anyway cuz Google said theyd be open. Once inside, eventually someone came out of the back and took care of us but it was obvious that the focus was on closing down; as they busily cleaned and swept all around us. They even seemed bothered when we used the restroom after they had already cleaned it. By the time we left 10 mins before closing time, most of the ice cream was already put up and they seemed glad to see us go. As a business owner, it pained me to see employees act this way. Hopefully this review will alert the owners, in time to put the Awesome back in Brindles! ... before its too late!

We were looking for good ice cream in San Antonio and we found it here! They have tons of flavors to choose from so no one will be disappointed. They also offer dipped waffle cones and bowls which tasted great and added to the experience. Service was friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back!

Came on a whim and am very happy I did! Coffee is my fav ice cream so I got coffee heath I believe and it was creamy and delicious. With all the options I will definitely be trying more. Whoever decorated the place is a weirdo in the best possible way; I really enjoyed looking at the unique art on the walls as I waited! :D

Red head was rude and upset cause we were asking questions. Then I realized why cause she was in a hurry to eat food that was brought in. The ice cream was flavor less and toppings tasted old and stale would definitely not recommend or come back!

This has been my favorite icecream spot for many years. The quality is amazing and so is the price for the amount they give. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful and I love that they are open to pretty late hours.I really miss the green tea flavor, though, I havent seen it rotated through in a couple years...

These girls were so sweet and helpful, and seemed to really love their jobs. Even though one was flirting with my manz, I didn’t mind because they were so helpful and he got me the ice cream I wanted. Normally I’d be ready to bust some kneecaps, but in this case, with ice cream like THAT...we can ALL be “friends”!!! He gets on my nerves anyways!! And he never rinses his dishes. Or showers. Anyways. We’ll be back.

Lame!UPDATE: the freezer is fixed and for 3 visits now Azteca has been back in stock! It’s definitely nice to have the selection back up to snuff with what it used to be - no skimping on either case due to limited space. Also have been racking up the loyalty punch-card marks!

This is the best place to top off a fantastic night dining at one of my positively reviewed restaurants or a place to salvage a horrendous night after eating somewhere awful. The ice cream is superb and always and I mean ALWAYS fresh. You can always feel the love in every bite. This home made cream is truly made home made style. It’s not a front like most creameries. NO it’s is outstanding. The staff is fantastic. Solana and Mohammed are superb customer service experts. They really know the product and can always direct you to the best flavors. Now trust me when I say the ice cream will hit your tongue with a multitude of emotions. It brings you back to the simple days sitting on the porch sharing a scoop with grandpa listening to his tales of wisdom. It brings you back to the late night with the boys (or the girls) hanging out chopping it up over a cool cup of ice cream. To the afternoon after report cards came out and mom just wants to reward you for a stellar academic quarter. Ladies and gentlemen I give you my word. My valiant word. My sacred word. Suggested this place to my husband because we just had dinner and we were passing by it. We’ve been in SA less than a year so we like to try all sorts of places. It was not at all like we thought it would be. The gelato didn’t look appetizing, it looked kinda runny. We were also surprised they didn’t have chocolate gelato. They were out of all their cones they had displayed but the plain waffle cone. We decided to get chocolate ice cream. I decided to add some topping to mine in case the ice cream wasn’t very good (there wasn’t very many choices of that as well) If you are looking for something sweet like ice cream or gelato I personally would suggest Marble Slab or Crepeccino. You will pay about the same price for better quality and variety. Including better customer service! Definitely will not be back!

Cute family-owned shop with tasty ice cream! You can tell the ice cream is fresh, and there are usually one or two bizarre flavors to try in addition to the regular. It has a cozy atmosphere with a couple indoor and outdoor tables. The prices are reasonable.

Has lots of very nice high quality ice creams. Always tastes delicious. Price is a bit steep at over $4 for one scoop. It would also be cool if they offered a lactose free vanilla ice cream instead of just sorbets. Overall a nice place to finish a day off with a dessert to share.

Ice cream was good, but I was disappointed with the constant answer of sorry, we are out of that. They were out of milk, brownies, waffle bowls, and basically anything not scoopable ice cream. I may go back for a second try, but this was very disappointing.

Service is always excellent even when they have a full house. i had a brother come into town and he asked me to go back here. the bill was good for how much you get. this place has many good reviews for a reason.

Its good but nothing spectacular. They have some specialty desserts that are large for one, but perfect for two. Their flavors are pretty much standard, but theres one called brindle (their namesake) and is t recommend trying that. They do have a Mexican chocolate that is truly spicy and is also worth a sample.

Usually a quiet cozy atmosphere. There are a variety of delicious flavors that are constantly changing. There are some constants but if youre in the mood for something different its an option as well. Coffee and other desserts offered as well. Definitely worth a try at the very least.

I am a return customer at this delicious ice cream place. They offer a wide variety of specialty ice cream treats along with the usual option of size+flavors to fit what you’re feeling. The ice cream flavors here are absolutely fantastic. I try new flavors every time I come here, and I have never been disappointed. The employees are also very friendly. I drive across town just to get ice cream from this place. It’s THAT good.

Amazing ice cream shop! All of the flavors I tried tasted so fresh and creamy. My favorite was the Moose Tracks. The Azteca flavor was also amazing. Chocolate Hazelnut is really good. The employee with the awesome pink hair was super nice! He gave me samples so I could decide what flavor I wanted. Try it out!

The ice cream was great and the staff was pleasant. Im giving this establishment 2 stars, however. I went there on a Friday night, a good two hours before closing time. The first thing I notice is that the place isnt as bright and cheerful as I had expected. The walls were almost bare. There were some things placed on them, but it felt haphazard. There was no care taken to adjust lights to highlight the few pieces of artwork that hung on the wall. A neon sign was only half lit. There was a counter case that was broken, and since it wasnt working, had no ice cream in it. There was only one ice cream case working. They had already run out of chocolate, and were on the verge of running out of more flavors. The far counter case was dark, although it held a display of beverages. The menu was extremely limited. All of the hot drinks (esspresso and coffee) were not available, as well as some other specialty drinks, because the machines were broken. I sat at an inside table with my family. We realized quickly that there was no music playing. The place felt like it was shutting down for good, not just an early closure for the night.

Sad to see that Brindles succumbed to the great COVID hysteria of 2020 and now mandates masks. I was a frequent customer, but now that they want to discriminate against customers who arent crazy brainwashed hypochondriacs I dont think Ill go there again.

Large selection of great flavors and waffle cones that dont shatter while youre trying to eat.If you get a medium or larger in a bowl its pretty precarious as it seems theres only one size aside from the waffle cone bowl.

Family loved this place! Just an overall wonderful ice cream store to visit. I wish we lived a little closer so we can visit more frequently! The ice cream is delicious. Lots of original flavors to choose from.

Glad to see it restored to former glory.********This place used to be really great but its gone way downhill. This was probably my last visit. Young guy at counter was pretty rude when I asked questions. Greeted him when we walked up and no response. Selection isnt great anymore. Lots of great memories here years ago but I wont be back.

Marvelous ice cream and service! We bought the sundae box as an early Valentines day gift for our daughter and she and her friends LOVED it! It is filled with tons of yummy toppings, cones and ice cream! The PB &J was awesome!!

If you want really odd eclectic flavors then this is the place for you. They have all of your favorites with the occasional curve ball to keep things interesting. If youre in the area you should defiantly give them a try.

Decent ice cream. Dont expect free toppings like all other ice cream places. They charge you for them here, and there arent a lot of selections to begin with. Also no prices listed on their beverages.

Great flavors and mix-ins. They have your regular flavors, some sorbets, and the occasional special flavors such as chocolate jalapeño. Their cones and waffle cups are alright but I prefer their ice cream on the cup.They are popular so they do get occasional waiting lines.

What happened to this place? It used to be so much better. I went in last month. They were out of my favorite sundae. So I got another choice, which they were out of an ingredient as well, so I modified it. Then they couldn’t take American Express, which was all I had. The girl just stared at me as I walked out empty handed. The sundae was already made, you’d think she would just give it to me for all of my troubles. That’s what I would do!
