The place is located strategicly, the new owners have done a great job with the place. Food tastes better in my opinion. The customer service was excellent and I highly recommend it. My kids liked it and enjoyed the food, which is always a plus.

Went here during lunch and it was very cozy since it was just me and a few other patrons. The food was excellent, and I finished every bite which is unusual for me. I was also surprised that the salad was a mixture of fresh greens instead of only iceberg lettuce. The chicken tasted really fresh which doesnt seem to happen very often when I go out to eat. Great place for lunch and the waitress was very attentive and pleasant.

To begin. This place overall does not look too impressive. The decor is simple and doesnt stand out too much. If the smell of curry is too much for you then you may want to enter with caution. While the smell is not overpowering it is definitely there. Onto the food. I ordered the curry of the day on lunch special which happened to be Panang Curry. It comes with one spring roll a side of rice and your choice of soup, salad, or a second spring roll. The portion size definitely does appear small however it was very filling regardless (I am fairly overweight not on any diet). I was pleased by the only person waiting tables as he appeared to be in a rush to make sure he attended every customer. While it was not super busy I do believe it was about the average lunch rush for a small restaurant. He was pleasant and always made sure I didnt need anything else.

The food was delicious! The Panang Curry had great flavor, and the fried dumplings were nice and crispy. The noodles had a good spice to them, and the kids meal was a good size. We will definitely go back!

Me and my wife tried this place after Googling Glass Soup. Pulling up we had second thoughts because not many cars in the parking lot. But I am so HAPPY we went in. Super calm environment and great food!!!! We will be back.

Ive never had a pad Thai drunken noodles that didnt taste like the sauce. Meat was unflavored, probably didnt sauce before. Glass was dirty, some dried sauce on it, mmmm. Small portions. Noodles where cooled well and had some good charged pieces (all good actually like that) over all though leaves much to be desired.

Ordered to go and its a very quaint little restaurant. The man who helped me was very friendly and the establishment is very clean and well taken care of. I ordered the beef pad thai which was amazing, my colleagues ordered the shrimp pad thai and chicken and broccoli. All were fresh and delicious, we also ordered the cheese rangoon wraps. Cant wait to return 💓

This was my first visit to Chongco Thai.Service was decent, lunch menu prices were reasonable.I ordered the Pad Thai and Thai iced tea.It took a while to receive my order, and the waitress knew I had been waiting for a bit. She came by my table to let me know the food was on its way. The restaurant was a bit empty at lunch, which is why the wait time for my order surprised me. I did see 2 orders come out for pick up, so I think the kitchen was also preparing some to go orders as as mine.However the food had good flavor and the spiciness was decent. The portion looked small at first but it was enough to leave me satisfied in the end. Compared to other restaurants Pad Thai the lunch special here was good. While it might not make my list of favorite places, I would return if in the area.Overall I had a good experience and might return to try some other items on the menu when in the area.

The sticky rice was a small hard lump. The soup had 2 hunks of tomato. Which seemed to take up a large amount of cup of soup. The peanut sauce seemed spendy for the tiny amount. Not impressed with any ofbit.

Id order a patai plate, good presentation, flavor was ok, the price affordable, I know we are in the middle of this covy19, and restaurants needs more customers, a course food quality will be affected, but we are confident that once this time passes, whoever restaurants that survive, will be better.

I love Thai food. Chongo is open for lunch till 3pm and then reopens for dinner at 5pm. We arrived at 2:20. My girlfriend, who is vegetarian had her wishes fulfilled with the #4 special with tofu. I had the curry with chicken. Both meals were good and the service was friendly and efficient. Watch the spiciness. Im a heat lover, but went for medium, after the waiters suggestion. It was cough inducing to start with but my palate quickly adjusted and I enjoyed my meal. Ive had hotter meals, but this was good.

My husband and I came here on a whim, hole in the wall but inside is nice and the food was amazing!We are vegetarians and there were plenty of options for us. Everything was fresh and very yummy. Will definitely come back.

I just started working down the street and decided to try this place for lunch. I called in a pick up order, Chicken Pad Thai lunch special (medium spice). The service was fast and staff friendly. The food was surprisingly really good!! Perfectly spicy but not too much heat. Food portion appeared small at first but ended up being just right amount. Im a big Thai food fan and I was thoroughly impressed. Would recommend!

Chongco, I wanted to email you so no one else would see this but, I did not find an email for you.I had given you a 5 star review 4 years ago. But, today, I changed it to a 4 star. You deserve a 1 star but, I dont want to give you a 1 star.You are a great cook. But over a year ago, I went in and ordered a dish. I asked for a vegetable substitution. The waitress recommended that I not substitute anything. I asked her, Can you do that substitution? She said, Yes.I got the dish. It was 1/4th the size of what it had normally been before. It was much smaller than an appetizer portion. When I brought it up to the waitress, she said, Thats why I told you not to substitute anything. I didnt know you were going to punish me for substituting. I still had to pay regular price for a super tiny, smaller then appetizer portion.I have not been back since. I do not want to get punished for substitutions by paying full price for a super tiny, smaller than appetizer portion.

This is a neat place. I ordered the roast duck curry and was very satisfied. They will give you a Thai menu, but if you ask for the tiger wings menu, you can also order wings. Im not sure if thats going to be permanent though. Im a big fan of the wings. Highly recommend.

I am so impressed with this little place! Its a small restaurant with maybe ten booths and you seat yourself. There was only one waitress but she constantly checked on us and the five or so other filled booths. She immediately got our drink order, drinks were out in less than five minutes. We ordered our food and the appetizer was out in less than five minutes too! Food was out shortly after. It was great food as well. They have a great lunch menu that includes both Thai and Chinese dishes. Our waitress hustled and you could tell she cared about her customers. We were done eating within 30 minutes and had time to chat before our lunch hour was up. Overall, really great. Definitely coming back!

I have been a steady customer for several years and was a big fan of the prior ownership. The jury is still out on the new ownership. Today I started with an absolutely fantastic Tom Yum soup followed up by Drunken Noodle that was simultaneously bland and sinus-clearing. I will probably go back an explore the menu more looking to find more homeruns than strikeouts. But can we please lose the godawful music?

Staff is pleasant and friendly.I favor their Shanghai noodles and I like the dish prepared slightly differently than the chefs norm..never a problem or up charge and is happy to adjust to my tastes..going through some current remodeling so check hours . What a find! The restaurant is under renovation and there was only one other customer in when I arrived, so first impressions were not good. But Charlie changed that quickly. Charlie communicated clearly and was very kind. To boot, the gentleman was extremely efficient and fast. The food came quickly and hit the spot. Very flavorful and to the particular spice level I enjoy. Will return.

My family love this Thai restaurant over all others in San Antonio. The food is Amazing, try the basil fried rice its awesome so full of flavor and as spicy and you like it! The summer rolls are my favorite app! Service is kind to us all every time we done in. We are so happy and full every visit.

Our first time here, we wanted to try something new. Atmosphere is nice. We ordered and we noticed one of the orders was missing the mushrooms. We brought this to the Servers attention and she offered to take it back. Despite the missing mushrooms, the dish was still good so we decided not to take it back. Soon after, the Server returned and insisted to take it back and make it correct. She took charge and we agreed. The meal was still good with the mushrooms and we appreciated her efforts.

Are you curry crazy? If so, this place is for you! I live curry done right...and they do it well. The bubble tea is great too...try the avocado! You will spend $12-15 and it will be worth every bit.

We ordered MILD Pad Thai for my daughter who can not tolerate spicy food. It was flaming hot and none of us could tolerate it. They said mild has “some spice” and initially they were hesitant to take care of the matter. After some discussion they remade it and made the situation right.

First off, the food deserves 5 stars. We ordered the pad woon sen, penang curry, and cheese rolls. All were extremely delicious. However, I contemplated leaving 3 stars because the music was BLARING, so loud that my husband and I couldnt even talk to each other. Dont get me wrong - I absolutely LOVE classic rock - but I dont want to feel like Im sitting in front of a concert speaker while having lunch with my husband. We arrived around 2PM, there was just 1 other couple in the restaurant, so I think it was unnecessary to have the music so loud. Even if the restaurant was full it would probably be excessive. The only reason we didnt leave was because we were so hungry, and Im glad we stayed because the food was worth it.

Restaurant was not open for seating so I got food to go! The food was burnt I called and explained that it was burnt and the man on the phone was like ok thank you and hung up on me!!!! Very rude ill never go back....

Even if the waitress forgot about my order when I first went there (haha!), the food we got was great. Their Tom Yum soup did have a respectable amount of seafood such as prawns, squid, and mussels. I also like the fact that they actually ask what level of spiciness you can tolerate ;)

Dig this place! Ordering is simple and the food is always hot and tasty. Location is pretty easy to access, but parking can be slim during the lunch hour.

Awesome food at very reasonable prices. They are not joking about the levels of spice on their dishes. Curry was perfect.

I usually love this place and would give it 5 stars any day except today! I am so disappointed with my meal. It was a complete waste of money. I didnt even eat it. The noodles in the Pad Thai were stuck together in a huge knot. There was no sauce on it...super plain. The spring rolls were just the breading...barely any cabage or noodles at all inside. I dont know if there is a new cook or what but Im definitely staying away from this place for awhile.

I dont understand these reviews. Maybe the restaurant experience is different then the delivery experience.Order process was easy, priced well, and delivery was quick.The food isnt that great. I ordered chicken satay and fried rice. The fried rice was Thai hot as requested, but the rice was undercooked and kind of crunchy. The chicken satay was rubbery but had good flavor.Too bad, delivery options for Thai are limited in my area.

This is the best Thai food in town. But its like the secret isnt out yet because every time I go, its basically empty. Hard to complain though since that means the service is quick and the food is fresh.

My favorite Thai place, only place in town that I know of that make dishes like I had when first experienced Thai cuisine. Onions, Jalapeños and meat in a smoky fish sauce base (#5)... To die for. The owners are also super friendly and accommodating

FRAUD ON MY BANK CARD/DO NOT USE YOUR CARD HERE!!!On Thursday July 11th between 6 and 6:30 pm a waitress description: Asian female in her twenties with black hair that was pulled up in a pony tail, she was wearing a green t-shirt and jeans a little on the chunky side waited on me. When I was ready to check out she took my bank card and was gone for an extended period of time. The next thing I know, there is a purchase on Amazon Prime. I never use Amazon and have never used Amazon Prime. I imagine she took my card and either took pictures of it or wrote down the info and then used it for her pleasure. I will be making a police report and will be filing charges! Have a nice day sweetheart! I am coming for ya!

Unbelievable little Thai restaurant, and if you want it spicy they wont let you down.

What a pleasant surprise, to finally come across a place that has truly spicy food! Ordered the kung pao noodles and the drunken noodles (my new personal favorite)...chose to go spicy vs very spicy. Let me tell you something, I had to take a break to allow my palette to regain its ability to handle more. Great food and great service, I will definitely dine here again!

This used to be a good place to eat but has now gotten so expensive. A chicken and shrimp plate with an order of cream cheese rolls= $20!!! Outrageous!! The shrimp was just placed on top and had absolutely no flavor. Never again. They dont provide any of the condiments and you have to ask for every little thing, such as salt, soy sauce, hot oil. Mmmm, wouldnt recommend to anyone anymore. Good luck if you do.

Appetizer & soup were awesome. Entrees fell flat. Duck was chewy & theyre dont put verry much duck in the Duck Basil & the Duck curry. Ducks in the title yet both dishes had 3times more bell peppers & jalapenos than actual duck. Doesnt justify paying as much as we did when you get so little. Also, the duck was wayyyy over cooked and super chewy.

Had food delivered. It was on time but wrong. The soup was fantastic. But the drunken noodle was not etable. Not only was it tofu not the chicken that I ordered, it tasted more like spicy dirt than thai food.

Everything I have tried has been good, so far. Its a great lunchtime Thai spot in a city that lacks many options for Thai. The food can be a little uninspired, but its generally better than most Thai food I have had in SA.
