This location is packed with the most wonderful staff this company employs. Very attentive and friendly, super wonderful people that are all about the customer and business retention. 5 Stars for them.....Corporate on the other hand is a whole different story. I give a zero. Between opening multiple accounts under different numbers to not entering my EIN over a year ago to avoid giving me the business pricing w/ tax free. All while either blaming their in store staff ( which was BS orders were done online and over the phone with the main office), or saying after COVID they would fix it. That never happened. Im owed thousands between the tax and overcharge. Unfortunately I took my bulk buying elsewhere but the staff at #14 are the only reason we have any association with the company period.

Bonnie was very helpful in helping us get into a new and exciting hobby. She helped us select the right tools for starting out. I highly recommend this store and their helpful staff. The prices were way better than we thought!

It was a bit of a drive for me but so worth it! The lady working the floor answered all my questions and helped me make sure I was getting correct size tools for my project. I will be back. Excellent service !

Super friendly and helpful staff!

The manager is great knows her stuff and is able to really help her customers. She warned me that this hobby was addicting, I did not listen and I am having a blast with all of my new toys. This is a very nice way to make gifts of quality once you get the techniques down.

Best sting ray leather ever

First, this place smells like the inside of a leather candle. I could smell this smell for the rest of my life and never get tired of it.The staff was friendly when I walked in, but like other reviews they do not hover over you for your entire visit. If you expect that level of sales pushing, go elsewhere. This is the kind of small business friendliness that I seek out. When I had questions, they were there to answer them. Otherwise, they let me walk around the store and browse to my hearts content. They have a very wide selection of leather, from thin garment weight hides all the way to heavy saddle skirting. Considering how large they are online, I actually didnt expect as much product in the store as I found there today. It was a pleasant surprise.Ive only just been to this location today and I already have a wishlist for leathers, tools, and treatments. I will definitely be returning to this location in the future.

This is more of a question. Do you guys do repairs???? I have a leather backpack that’s in need.

Sad part is I completely agree with Dennis. I had the exact same experience when I moved to San Anton. I even applied there but I guess a young, hardworking, self-motivated, experienced individual isn’t what they are looking for :) I guess keeping a worthless staff to fill “Online” orders helps keep the overhead down.

I wasnt sure what to expect with the mixed reviews. I walked in and was immediately greeted. I asked for help and was shown what I needed and then left browse. It was just the right amount of attention. I dislike places that ignore the customer as much as I dislike the places that hover over you. Thanks for the good experience.

I see some of the reviews for bad customer service here - FWIW my experience was good. However, I usually do not like to be greeted or chatted up - I like to look around then ask questions if I have any. I was able to find someone quickly who was helpful when I did have questions. This is for a new hobby though so I cannot comment on their expertise. I would feel comfortable shopping here for further leather projects though as I said, I do not have much experience to compare.

I adore this store, the variety of products, and the customer service which is highly personalized. People give bad reviews for customer service here because having vast amounts of attention and sales shoved in their faces is mainstream in Corporate-America. The workers at this store dont act like they are a peon of a huge company looking for money from every customer. Instead, they act like actual human beings who work at a job and want to help you if you need it. Apparently, if a retail worker isnt wearing a huge, fake, Disney-esc smile on their faces along with being full of fake hyper-energy, they are not working. If the workers arent trying to cater to your every need like you are the most important human on the planet because you have a few bucks to spend the workers are bothered by you or unenthusiastic. This notion is ridiculous.Dont shop here if you want sales and class A customer service (which is a whole bunch of corporate bullshit) shoved down your throat. Dont shop here if you are lazy and expect everything to be handed to you and your questions automatically answered. You wont get this attention. End of story. Instead you will receive genuine concern and help if you need it. If you ask, you will get more help than you ever needed, guaranteed. The associates at this store even kept the place open after hours just so I could find what I needed. The store is so small and the workers are always close by...you basically have to be a fool to not be able to find them. Or incredibly lazy, which I guess most people are these days.

Its funny but Id have to disagree with the other two reviewers here so far, Ive been designing and building custom costume belts for almost year now and buy almost all of my supplies from this store, Ive had nothing but positive experiences with the staff. When I cant find something all I need to do is ask and they take me right to it and if I have questions on how to proceed with a certain aspect of the craft theyve always helped me out, sometimes going so far as to show me how to use a new tool or die.

I have been going to Tandy / Leather Factory stores all over the U.S. for 30 years. I even worked at one for a short time and the experience was always enjoyable. That changed today. I have never met such an apathetic sales staff in my life. All but one of the four salespeople in the store, including the manager seemed to be completely clueless. In addition, when I went to check out, they could not find me in their computer by name or my local address, despite the fact that I have shopped there off and on for five years. I asked them, How is it that I get a mailer at my address each month and you have no record? They had no idea. I would definitely recommend going to another store for your leather needs. This is the last time I will ever shop at a Tandy Leather Factory.

Purchased some leather here for working on Pipe Organs. Tandy Leather saved my hide because this was an emergency repair and I needed the leather RIGHT NOW.I saw a negative review and I must disagree. This store has a friendly staff ready to answer questions if YOU approach THEM. They are not pushy and do not hover over you. Apropos, they let you go in and browse without making you feel pressured into buying anything. Sometimes I just enjoy looking or snooping without being harassed by nosy, pushy, commissioned-based sales people. The art of Customer Service is to be available when the customer needs help and not to follow them around the store until they make a purchase.Ergo, I will continue to buy all my leather goods from Tandy.
