Ive taken numerous computers to MacTLC for repairs and theyre amazing every time! They always go through Applecare first to see if the repair is covered and then check for any recalls to see if it can be covered under that. I feel like they do a better job and are more honest than the Apple store. Theyre turnaround time is great too!

This small owned business does great work, fixes warranty and non warranty repairs in house and has incredible customer service and always has cool music playing. A cool vibe exists in the store and they are taking Covid protocols. A gem in San Antonio for sure!

My review is about purchases only. Not repairs. I purchased a charger for my laptop here. It was $95 - - so not cheap. I opened it up and had not gotten quite the right charger I was looking for. I had thought their return policy was ten days. I came back within ten days and they informed me that any opened items were non-refundable. The official policy states “for everyone’s safety we will not be accepting any returns on open items at this time. All sales are final on open items.” Im not sure what “at this time” means or how long this policy has been in effect, but it seems pretty convenient for them - particularly when the only way you can find out if it’s the right item or not is to open it.Apple’s official policy is you can return for full refund within 14 days if the packing is open or not. I find it strange their authorized retailer/re-seller does not follow this policy. So there’s $96 wasted. If you’re purchasing items I would advise going to the actual apple store instead.

Nothing against the Apple store but I love Mac TLC. I bought a desk top from them in 2012 and recently returned to replaced it with a new iMac. Everyone there is friendly and knowledgable. To say Susan Big Spring helped me is kind of an understatement. She answered all my questions, worked with me on the transfer of my content from the old computer and helped with my iPad and iPhone. Thank you, Mac TLC for my new Apple computer!

Susan Big Spring from MacTLC was the kindest, most helpful person EVER to work with! She helped me retrieve my notes and contacts after they were completely wiped from my phone after I upgraded to a new one. Seriously the most understanding and coolest person that could’ve helped me. It took a while to get them back, but she never gave up, tried numerous different approaches to get my information back until we were successful, and was patient with me the whole time (I’m really bad with technology). She even gave me her card in case I had anymore questions after leaving my appointment. Absolute life saver!

I cant recommend MacTLC highly enough. I just bought my latest MacBook Pro from them and I couldnt be happier with the computer or with the service I received. Given all this COVID stuff, I had to wait a couple of weeks to get exactly what I was looking for but Susan took care of me from start to finish, kept me informed along the way, and then when an issue arose that fortunately turned out to be a non-issue, she bent over backwards to make sure I was happy. I had 2 - 21 1/2 “ iMacs that were 8 years old. They were 8G Ram machines that were running agonizingly slow. I tried resetting and reorganizing the hard drives - all made only modest improvements.I was going to buy two new machines and a friend recommended MacTLC. They took both machines in, upgraded to 16G RAM Installed 1T SST hard drives. They restored the data upgraded the Operating system and the machines are now blazing FAST - Like two new machines. The were also helpful with a warranty issue on my Apple Watch on which Apple had refused me. These people are all first rate service providers keeping the customer FIRST. Highly recommend.

For more than 2 weeks I waited for a device this business had sitting there, and they never bothered to contact me. I would not recommend doing business with them, they are careless and unprofessional. I never got an apology from anyone at the store, they honestly could have cared less.I left my iPhone here for repair since May 1st. I called on May 8th for an update, where I was told they needed more time. Fast forward to May 18th I call to see about my phone and nothing has been done to repair it. All this time my phone was there, and no one bothered to contact me. Dylan told me he tried calling me and said the number was disconnected. I confirmed the number was correct, and when I asked why a voicemail wouldn’t be left, he was unable to say anything.

With the Apple stores closed, Apple sent me to Mr. Fonsecas store to process an exchange for an iPad that I purchased that was inoperable upon receipt of the product. To summarize, Mr Fonseca did not comply with @apple representative who authorized them to exchange it for me. As our argument intensified, he repeatedly called me a mother f**cker and behaved in a threatening manner. I encourage my fellow consumers to go elsewhere for their Apple products. Mr Fonseca and his team started out rude and only got worse from there. I encourage @apple to discontinue allowing Mr Fonseca to sell your products. He is a poor representation of your brand. Anyone reading this, please message me if youd like more details of the encounter.

Horrible customer service. The technicians are not aware or knowledgeable enough to simply value a customers time. I called ahead of time to ensure Id be taken care of, drove 20 mins and stood in line for 30 just to be told when I got in that they wouldnt be able to assist. Basic common sense couldve been used by simply stating TO A LONG LINE OF CUSTOMERS that all walk-ins are closed at this time, this couldve saved me half an hour of just standing around OR over the phone a knowledgeable rep couldve said hey its a pretty long line, walk ins are closing soon.. try making an appointment online.THEN.. When I called to voice my concern and to see if I made an appointment would I have to stand in another line, I was told well you dont have to bring it here if you dont want but youre going to have to wait in line IDK about anyone else, but that defeats the purpose of an appointment. I dont care how great of a service someone provides if they cant handle basic customer service conflict resolution.. youre a one star service business. WASTE OF TIME!

I tried updating my iMac to Catalina and in the process ended up somehow destroying my hard drive. I called Apple support panicking trying to find some way to resolve it and they weren’t able to help me but referred me to MacTLC. I went in the very next morning as a walk-in and they were so kind and helpful trying to get everything back to working. I brought it in on a Thursday morning not expecting to get it back until Monday or Tuesday of the next week and Kyle had it fixed the very next day by noon! To say I was impressed and relieved is an understatement! Highly recommend MacTLC!!!!!

5 Stars ! I am a returning customer of MacTLC. Each visit has been a great experience. Great customer service and a very knowledgable staff. Edward is a life saver and resolved my Mac book Pro issue in less than an hour. MacTLC is by far the best option for any Mac product issues. Operated by a wonderful staff that dont take advantage of over charging their customers. As a college student from a city 2 1/2 hours away there is no other place I would trust for a satisfactory experience at a reasonable price.

Today I needed to replace a battery for my MacBook pro and they took ever procaution necessary to let my 5 yr old son and I feel as safe as possible. Everyone wore masks my computer was sanitized they were clearly using social distancing measures to the T. I had to take him as childcare was out of the question and he did great they were so quick to replace my battery and send me on my way. Worst service Ive ever experienced. I brought my Mac in over 2 years: one for a battery replacement (was covered under a program by Apple) but was told I would need to pay a service fee. I took it to Apple directly and had it replaced for $0. Then, I brought my Mac in to have its screen hinges tightened, I had called/emailed in advance to make sure they could do this, and was given the quote for the service. OK! Great! So I brought it in, and after a few days, I was told it was ready. Picked it up, paid, got in the car, and noticed the alignment of the hinges from the body was off. I brought it back in, and they told me they would need to keep it a day extra. The next day, no news. Another day later, I was told its ready.Turns out, in re-aligning the screen, they ended up accidentally cutting the wire that connects the logic board to the display. For this, they had to replace the display. What? Everyone was nice and apologized, though.The replaced display has 2 dead pixels on it, and the front area near the camera has delaminated spots. In addition to this, theyve stripped 4 screws of their pattern on the bottom of the case of the Mac, and so now I cannot access the inside of my computer to clean it out.Just a little frustrated...

I made an appointment with the Genius Bar and after sitting there at their desk for thirty minutes, waiting for someone to help me, the technician finally came up to me, looked at my computer and began to explain that because my laptop was a much older model, he could not work on it. I was heartbroken. He referred me to MacTLC instead and I drove there immediately. My battery was completely consumed and I started graduate school in a couple of days, so I was in desperate need for my laptop to be repaired. The lady at the front desk was very sweet and kind: she ran a diagnostic on my laptop and told me that the repair would only take a couple of minutes! The experience that I had here makes me reconsider making an appointment with the Genius Bar ever again! Thank you so much for your help!! I am definitely coming back.

If the rating stars could be negative, my review would be more accurate. This place deserves -10. The technician comes, and asks what is the problem. I do explain the MAC is crashing after a while. Then 3 weeks later they called indicating the problem is with the HD cable, that is was wearing out, and the battery and the hard drive needed to be replaced as well. The charge would be $600.00, I said OK, the company I work for would pay for it. The forth week comes by, I pickup the MAC, and 30 seconds after turning it on, I happens again. So 2 weeks later that finally call indicating that the mother board is fried, and cannot be fixed. Good thing I paid nothing the first time. So when to pick it up and they were trying to charge the $600 plus $100 for the final diagnostic. This place is a joke. For all of the customers writing good reviews, either all of you are family members or employees, or people who can be fooled so easy. Good thing that this place has been reported to Apple directly and the Authorized Service Center credential will be revoked soon.

If you need anything Mac fixed, repaired or resurrected this is the place ! Customer Service makes you feel that you are one of the most important clients in the State ! Mac TLC is also the place to go when you have been to Apple retail and they have not ( will not because it’s about sales numbers for the store) fixed or repaired your issue - give Mac TLC a chance and don’t get rid of your “vintage gear” as much like a car it can be repaired with newer more efficient drives, memory etc. A big shout out to Julie and Vincent for resurrecting my 27 inch iMac - vintage warrior !

I agree with all of the 5-star reviewers. My Macbook Air was fixed promptly and competently (wont go into details) but James knew instantly the trouble ad how to fix it. Service was great, super-friendly and totally customer oriented. The repair costs were/are fair. The Apple store is modern, clean, and totally reflects the quality of Apple. As a first-time experience, and prior to arriving I wasnt quite sure of what to expect -- but that clarified to an absolutely perfect and pleasurable visit. They also sell Apple products. MacTLC is where I will purchase my next Macbook. You wont be disappointed with this Apple certified business!

I recently had a hard drive crash and as I do with all my Mac issues I took it to MAC TLC. They did a fantastic job of recovering most of my info from the broken drive and migrated my very valuable data to a new 27 iMac. Kyle, the tech genius, did an outstanding job of saving me in a very bad situation. I picked up my new Mac today and within 30 minutes Im up and running. I cant over emphasize how professional, friendly and competent John and the entire staff at TLC are in getting you out of a computer crisis and back in operation in a minimum of time. If you use Apple products and have a problem, MAC TLC should be your first stop.

They have great customer service, however, their communication is subpar. Our district relationship was great up until they decided that disposing of brand new inventory at their discretion was a good a idea. Switching our whole business from UBreakIFix seemed like a great business decision until they decided to do this. They definitely do not care for the enterprise customer or losing business to large companies. We decided to open up a LTSA Account straight with Apple instead of dealing with this location again. SA school districts beware and think twice before before doing business with this location.

We were happily amazed at the speed and cost of MacTLC! My brother brought his MacBook home from China because the screen was broken. After unsatisfactory visits to other screen repair businesses, he went to MacTLC. It turned out to be just some loose connections. Their techs reseated the connections and screen now works great!

The two techs behind the desk never made eye contact even when standing right in front of them. The other emp, a blond woman walked past me, and again nothing. I am a long time Mac TLC client, not customer, because I get treated like client not a customer. John and the staff are just great. Mac TLC moved from its north of the airport location to a more consumer friendly West Avenue and Blanco retail store. This is much closer to me and there is more table top room in the store. Mac TLC is a far better experience than the Apple Store where frankly I cannot hear anything with all the sound waves bouncing around all the hard surfaces. Most recent purchases from TLC are an iMac slightly used for my school office and a Mac mini at home. Thanks MAC TLC

It was an okay experience. Clean facility and unrude staff. I gave it 3 stars, because...1) I stood around both times I went without anyone saying Ill be right with you or how can I help, even though I made eye contact with more than one staff member.2) The guy out right admitted since its an iPhone on warranty he was just going to replace it and I would have to pay.3) I could not hand the phone in now and walk away with a new one. It had to be shipped to Apple, inspected, then they would ship back a replacement. I was told the replacement would come in less than 10 business days and it took over 2 weeks to get is.

While in San Antonio for a couple days, I took my Macbook Pro in for a broken keyboard key retainer issue. Another Apple authorized repair facility in Dallas quoted me $45 just to look at it. MacTLC replaced the retainer for free and did the work in less then 5min! Exceptional customer service will bring me back for any repair service I may need!!!

I took my several year old MacBook in for a general clean up (it was running slow). Turn around time was pretty quick and results were great.The staff at Mac TLC is very friendly and knowledgeable, as is the owner, John. They are honest and frank. They will tell you what you need and what you could do without. I trust their opinions. Highly recommend over any big box retailer with a computer dept (e.g. Best Buy) or even the Apple store (Mac TLC carries more parts, especially for older models, that the Apple store does not always have in stock).

For about the past 5 years we have used MacTLC everytime we have had a operator problem with our MACs. Recently my 8 year old iMAC decided it was time for me to get a new one. Never thought about it twice. MacTLC was my go to for the new purchase. Same price as I would have paid at the Apple Store.....same stand by the product. No standing in line....and no hassles. From John (the owner) to the receptionist and to the technicians....Customer Service is a 10. Trust me they will take great care of you.
