Great little Trading Card store where you can purchase booster boxes of Pokemon and other sets. You can also buy single cards for a reasonable price, every comic book store will raise the price of their product to stay competitive against others and make some profit. The owners are willing to do deals if you buy bulk of items which is something nice that other collectible stores normally wouldnt even consider. Will definitely be doing more card buying from this store as they have plenty of cards that I am still looking for to complete sets. You can also get some of the Japanese products here which are normally hard to get outside of Japan since they are only made there, you will pay a premium for them but that is to cover the cost of getting it imported all the way from Japan.

First time coming in, but this is definitely going to be my new pokemon stop. They have Japanese packs, English, even saw some old German cards in the cases. Love it already. Prices arent too bad either for the Japanese packs

It was my first and last time I go to this card shop they have terrible customer service . I was asked to leave because The cashier was listening in to me talking to a nother customer about doing a trade after . The cashier without any context to the conversation, in a very rude tone told me to leave. And to top it off they are not handicapped accessible . my daughter who is in a wheelchair had a hard time navigating our way in and out of there. And there prices are way to high. scalpers are cheaper than shopping there .

My son and I have been customers here for quite some time now. My son loves this shop and the customer service has been fantastic… they are always courteous and friendly, and super helpful to someone that’s new to card collecting like me.Prices are always reasonable. Ever since I started getting back into cards and browsing all the shops in sa House of Cards is definitely the best! I just found out about this shop today and Im happy I stopped by. I saw the great reviews and its true. These guys are amazing. Theyre very helpful and knowledgeable in the cards and products they sell. I will for sure be a returning customer. ^^ The cards are in excellent condition, even the ones in packs and the prices are fair in my opinion for what youre getting. They also have Comic books, Baseball cards and other cards too. Check them out and you wont be disappointed. ^^

Excellent service and amazing variety of collectibles and Pokémon merchandise. I sold a handful of my Pokémon cards and they gave a fair price. I was hesitant to sell my cards but this entire selling experience from the House of Cards staff was exceptional. I will continue to use their services from now on!!! **They are one of the few places in town that sell Japanese Pokémon cards (sets & individual cards).

Worth a look around. Family owned by nice people. Buy and sell singles which is really cool and had some rare cards I’ve never seen irl. They have a lot of Japanese single and packs for more than I would want to spend but where else are you going to get it I guess. If you’re looking to sell of course you are going to make less money here than if you sell on your own. But of course it’s harder to sell on your own. They buy for about 1/3 TCG prices but sell for a over TGC prices. You get to see the card before you buy but it’s not worth it in my opinion but my husband did buy a few cards. They are doing stuff that not many people do so they can kinda just make their own rules. Overall not bad but could have been better which is why I gave 4 stars.

After driving 700 miles from OKC to San Antonio in a rain storm, the staff at House of Cards made me feel welcome. No, better than welcome, the made me feel like family. It shows that House of Cards really cares about their customers and listens to them. Definitely a 5-star place in my book, and a must visit for any card collector.I like House of Cards for a lot of reasons, but I cant give it five stars entirely (stick with me and youll find out why). First off, the staff are incredible. Friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to help. Any review that references a slight against the staff is simply untrue. They do truly have one of the best selection of single Pokemon cards available in the San Antonio area, possibly the state. The stock is always plentiful and decently priced. (The following is addressed in new edit) My only complaint is the reservation issue. Almost every product they release is a first come, first serve, which is admirable under most circumstances, but it becomes frustrating when you cant line up an hour or more before they open because of work, etc. You end up missing out on product because of that. If they would allow people to pre-order or request a hold on items that would have made it a five star review. The most recent example of this is the Evolving Skies Pre-Release. They do some very cool promotions though which should not be overlooked. Routine giveaways and their mystery bags are a couple that come to mind. A mystery bag has the potential to reward you with a ETB or other prize and regardless will leave you with some cool cards you probably didnt have before. Personally, my last one provided me with a Blaines Chameleon which I never had before, and Ive been collecting since the 90s. They are Definitely a must check out for the avid Pokemon collector.

This is by far my favorite card shop in town. Paul (the owner) and Roman are always friendly and glad to help. This shop has good stock on a variety of collectibles. This is my go to place for all things Pokemon! My son and I always find cool stuff here! We will be customers for as long as they have their doors open!

Came into this small shop not too far from where I live looking for some Pokémon.. I was quick to find out that this location is the prime spot to go for singles and sealed products. I recently got back into Pokemon card collecting and the staff here really knew their stuff and helped me figure out what kind of packs I should get and what I should look out for. They werent bothered at all to answer the many questions that I had and didnt try to take advantage of me being a newbie. I walked in not knowing very much about Pokémon but needed a gift for my nephew. The staff was super knowledgeable and super friendly. Always was a favorite for Pokémon cards but theyve increased their plushie stock and now Im in love. Quality goods, Japan exclusives, all reasonably priced. Theyre also very receptive to what their customers are looking for. I was on the hunt for certain plushies, and they really communicated well with me to get them in stock. Bought some gifts for my husband a few days ago (Pokemon Shining Fates items) and I will 100% be going back! Its a small store, but the person was extremely helpful and made great suggestions to help me find the right items. They were polite and enthusiastic and safe! Temps are taken as you enter store and has limited compacity. Prices were also WAYYY better than another store I visited the same day. I honestly wish I had come here first. I just purchased the rest of the booster pack singles from a Vivid Voltage Booster Box, 11 packs at $8 a piece, and I did not get 1 single ultra rare. Either the packs were weighed or I just have the worst luck. That did not sit right with me and wanted to share my experience.

I’ve been collecting Pokémon cards since I was 8 years old. My last set I started buying was Neo Destiny and little did the kid me know the true worth of the cards back then. Thanks to HoC I was able to achieve a long dead childhood dream of finishing my collection. I also just got back into the hobby with vivid voltage and this location had a very good selection of products and cards I needed. Prices are fair and within TCG values, friendly and amazing customer service. Other places try to profit as much as possible like Heroes and Fantasies for the old vintage cards. If your missing anything or need a specific set, they worked with me in finding the right cards and all as near mint condition as possible. I strongly believe I just found my new favorite LCS.

Horrible customer service! Worse I have had in years.Guy with his hair slicked back says he pays 30 percent of a card value.So he goes through my collection and sees the stack he wants and ask to take them out of the case.I tell him I would rather he give me a round about price and if it goes up or down a tad then sure you can take them out of the case risking any damage.He says he cant and I say ok I pass.Instead saying ok thanks he slams the cards down and throws a tantrum and runs off without having any sales or customer service what so ever.On to the next save your time for these rip offs and rude little boys 😂

I had a relatively expensive set of graded Pokemon cards that I needed to sell, and I consigned them to House of Cards and Collectibles. Paul treated me very fairly and was able to sell my collection within days. He paid me promptly and it was an overall smooth transaction. I would highly recommend visiting him if you have valuable Pokemon cards, and you dont want to risk trying to sell them online.

Was in town from KY for work and able to stop in on my last day in San Antonio. Great selection of old and new Pokémon, Sports Cards (packs & singles) and Comics, as well as supplies. The staff is very kind and knowledgeable on all they carry. I pulled a Charizard from the first pack I opened and cant wait to rip into the rest!My only dislike is the store hours. I was lucky to be free before 5pm on a weekday. Will definitely visit again the next time in San Antonio or nearby.

Let me start by saying that i was looking for someone to physically help not just an online store. And eventually found house of cards 😍 & this place was amazing from every aspect. The employees were helpful & friendly especially Paul and Roman who took the time off and video call and let me choose whatever i wanted from the store, bare in mind Im from KUWAIT which is a 24 hour flight yet i managed to buy loads of stuff with their help. Communication, purchases and oayment was easy, fast and instant. Plus as if what they did wasnt enough they gave me a discount for buying over a certain amount. I had a box of old Pokemon cards that I had gotten as a kid and was looking to get rid of them. I found House of Cards online and decided to try the place out after reading several excellent reviews. I was not disappointed at all. I had a great conversation with the owner and he took the time to look through each and every card I had. I had a lot of cards and I let him take them overnight so that he could do some research. When I came in the next day, he had done his research and given me the prices at which he could sell every card for as well as the price he would give me for each card. I was very impressed with his customer service and how he went above and beyond for me before we had ever even discussed money. At the end of the day, I came away with a very fair price and we made a deal. I highly recommend checking out this store as they have a lot of cool stuff as well as some good people running the place. If you have any old trading cards, toys, or comics, this is the place to go.

Went in recently and was super happy with my experience. The owner was super welcoming, helpful and informative. I bought a couple packs of baseball and football cards and they had autos and jersey cards. The shop is clean, spacious and just a cool place to relax and enjoy the hobby. I have driven up from Corpus Christi a couple times to visit this store and it is by far the best store I can find. Great selection of older cards, great staff, and extremely helpful. I have nothing but the best to say about the store.
