I’ve just taken the plunge to leave the big box hardware store and after looking around stumbled into Dakota. With the money I saved I bought a new planer and got some beautiful, giant pieces of lumber for a fraction of the cost. Everyone there is great and they made it as safe as possible to load and pay at the dock without going in. Their prices can’t be beat and I appreciated their patience as I stumbled through what I needed. Thank Dakota, I’ll definitely be back!
In this pic is 2 pieces of Red Oak one from Dakota one from the big orange store. Ill let you guess which is from where and which was cheaper 😏. For this project im making drawer fronts for my kitchen cabinets, and didnt want to joint pieces if I didnt have to. At Dakota i paid $26 and ill have about 4 left over for another project. At the other store would have cost me at least $80 and not much left over. Plus a lot of wasted time doing joining and glue ups. This way I saved time and money and my wife is happy the kitchen is done before Thanksgiving. Now this is why I love Dakota Premium Hardwoods.
Great selection, great prices, but imo more importantly, AMAZING customer service. Richard and Juan were extremely helpful from start to finish. I had a ton of questions, they answered all of them. This is my go to store for quality wood from now on, they have earned a customer for life.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. It seems primarily for industrial use but we shopped it for hobby purposes.
I needed just a few oak boards for a project. They had exactly what I needed at good prices. Also, great service for a small purchase.
Always helpful. The folks working here are knowledgeable and have been great with the advice and recommendations on new products.
Terrible service. Placed an order ahead of time so I wouldnt have to wait. I drive to the place and the staff that is suppose to handle the tickets is no where to be found. Waited around for half an hour and nothing. I dont blame the forklift guys since they are literally doing all the heavy lifting and completing the orders, but whats the staff inside doing besides sitting on their a**?
Great place to get wood. Professional staff. Just keep your head on a swivel in the wearhouse, safety first.
Great source of cabinet grade plywood, hardwood, exotics and any kind of hardware, convenience items and supplies you can imagine. Doug, Elisa, Richard, Greg and Gary have been a great team to work with for many years.
Staff are knowledgeable and accommodating. Warehouse staff will help you pull any pieces you want, as well as cut down pieces if you didnt bring a large vehicle. I love their lumber, and their pricing is excellent. Thanks, Dakota!
It was ok. We had a very nice gentleman helping us & he was patient & helpful. (wish I knew his name)
Great customer service.
All the people there are very friendly and the products are high quality.
Its good the prices are fair they got all kinds of fancy woods.
Service was very good and the quality is pretty superior to the standard fair out there.
Good wood, good price, good service.Thank you.
Picked up some birch plywood, walnut boards and maple boards the other day. Hardwood was very nice and well priced. Not a fan of the plywood. Veneer layers are pulling apart and I haven’t even done anything with them yet.
I have a small woodworking/cabinetmaking shop and find Dakota to be my go to source for hardwoods and hardware. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff and good prices.
My first experience with Dakota was not that great. The front office told me that there would be shorter boards available, but when I went to the warehouse the forklift drivers chuckled at my standard length 6 foot bed and told me they couldn’t do anything to help me after spending 1.5 hours on my day off to get there and back.Fast forward a couple months and I came back based on Dakota having the best price/quality on beech and red oak. This time I brought a uhaul trailer. The staff was much friendlier and provided a very generous military discount. I would recommend....just be prepared they don’t offer 6 or 10 foot boards, only 12.
Great lumber yard. Always have had what I needed.
Great selection of materials and friendly staff!
Great place!
Couple guys in loading dock kind of snobby . But products are good and prices are good
Fantastic product selection, very knowledgeable staff, excellent choice and reasonable prices on their hardwoods, also a Sawstop dealer, these guys have it going on. Ive been shopping there a long time and will continue to do so.
I always come here for quality hardwood at reasonable prices.
Great place with great selection. Competetive prices with fast, friendly service. I always go here for my lumber needs. Skip the big box stores, save some moneyh and make this your first stop
Great selection. Good wood and great prices.
A good selection of top quality cabinet products and great customer service.
Great, friendly staff always willing to help out.
Great place to get quality hardwood lumber
Best Prices, Best Service, Best Product.
I was just in there today. First, I had to call for directions, and the woman that answered the phone gives GREAT directions. Just Lefts and Rights, no colors, or family history about birthday parties. Just left there, and then right there, and then the last left through the gate. TA-DA!Anyways, Im wearing my grubby Contractor clothing, and they spent about 20 minutes explaining the difference between all the various hinges, face-mount, etc... and then the plates that determine where the cabinet door is going to line-up, and also how they are the ONLY authorized distributor of authentic Blum (Austrian pronounciation) hinges, and that all the others being sold in San Antonio are cheap knock-offs. Which was exactly the reason why my Alamo Heights customer hated her wobbly kitchen cabinet doors. They werent real Blum. Once I spent some time comparing the two, the difference in quality was obvious.I bought two, installed them on the wobbliest kitchen cabinet door and it got real stable immediately. Homeowner is going to have me replace all of them (about 50).Anyways, the whole point is that Ive been to Lowes, Home Depot, Allen & Allen, talked to an Interior Designer, and a couple of guys that worked the counter at some millworks on the west side and NO ONE could help me to fix my customers wobbly cabinet doors. She REALLY hates them. It wasnt until I came to Dakota that they gave me the magic fix. Problem solved. You can tell these people know what they are doing, and like their jobs, and they like their customers too. Usually when Im in grubby Contractor mode, the counter staff treats me like Im something the cat just yacked-up. They get this ew look on their face, and it doesnt get any better when they realize that not only am I grubby, Im also smarter than they are. They REALLY hate that. These folks at Dakota today didnt give me that yuck vibe, and because of that, they get this glowing review, from a bona-fide Internet Marketing genius and professional Local SEO. You never know who it is thats talking to you, and you never know what can happen as a result of that meeting.
