Sophia and her team at Sew-Chic do amazing work. I purchased a suit that fit really well off the rack and she made it go from good to great! Its a custom tailored suit now and looks amazing.She also does great repair work. Id worn the suit above once, had it dry-cleaned by Dutch Boys, and it came back with a snag in the right sleeve which left a small loop and line across my right elbow...right before a big interview. Sophia took a look and said she could probably fix it, maybe not completely but shed try. Bottom line, the 3-inch line that was there is almost invisible and the loop was pulled back through! You can only tell its there if you know where to look, and even then, the lighting has to be just perfect (Before and After pictures attached). Thank you Sophia!! Highest recommendation for a local shop that does high-quality work, is timely, and more than fair in pricing! I take all my dress shirts/pants, military items there....they do it all!

I met with Sarah to discuss making a wedding dress for me because they have the talent to make clothes. Sarah was extremely helpful and has a very caring nature. Sarah explained to me in detail the process of making a dress and the cost of making a dress. She is very knowledgeable with years of experience, and I felt that very taken care of. When it seemed that it might not be a fit for me to have my dress made, Sarah even recommended other places that might better help me if having my dress made would not be an option for me. Wow! Wow! I walked into Sew Chic, and within about five minutes, I was being fitted. The seamstress was very kind and warm. When I asked for her opinion on aspects of my alterations, she gave it honestly and knowledgeably. I really appreciated that, as it was my first time having anything tailored. I needed my two formal garments finished the next day, and they had no problem with that (they were even finished a few hours early). They both look gorgeous, and I fully intend on getting more of my clothing tailored with them in the future, as it turned out to be quite a surprisingly pleasant experience.Bonus points for lots of good parking.

Would definitely use again and again. They were very friendly, fast, and did great work. I was leaving the next day on a cruise and needed some slacks taken in at the waist and they did it the same day, while I waited. They were a lifesaver. I was a little concerned because they did it so fast - at closing time, but they came out great. I have no complaints about anything. Thanks a million for helping me in a bind. Great experience but expensive for two pair of jeans! Wow! Sticker shocked! Regardless, I dont get my nails done or have a lawn to be maintained so how do you still justify the cost? Well, I will have to teach myself how to sew because thread and a needle or even a sewing machine shouldnt cost that much to treat my jeans for the lifetime. Nope wont be going back. I took my wedding dress here for an alteration in March 2018 and though I think they did a great job taking an inch off the chest area and another inch around the hip area, with no height alteration, I dont think it was worth what they were charging for. Wedding dresses could have multiple layers and tons of other details and mine was definitely one of those dresses. One could get a full alteration (vertical and horizontal alterations) for ~$350 from many established stores but I still decided to go with these guys because, like most brides, I wanted everything to be perfect. In hindsight, I often asked myself how much more perfect can their job be that makes them cost $200 more than others that Ive gotten a quote from. They did a good job with my dress but theres no objective way to compare the quality of their job, meanwhile their shortfall is definitely their price point and the value gained from that.

Situated alongside Broadway in close proximity to HEB Central, Sew Chic is a gem for any of your alteration needs. Ive had a suit completely redone from J Crew for a wedding when they didnt have my size and they literally made it feel like a bespoke suit. The fit was perfect and I was ecstatic of the outcome. Ive been here before for other needs since and just dropped off my jeans here. Greatly appreciate the rush for same day orders for a small fee. Their prices are very reasonable and the quality of work is superb. So happy to have found this gem.

Prices are higher than other alterations places, but their work is worth the prices. Everything they do is pristine and carefully thought out and fixed or moderated to perfection. They are meticulous and do everything to very high standards. Ladies are always willing to help find solutions and give you various options to certain difficult options and have good turn around times for simple alterations. You wont be disappointed!

This place is a life saver. Getting the flu and strep within a week of your wedding and loosing almost 10lbs my dress was huge. They helped me out and my dress came out amazing. Took it in the Wednesday before my wedding and it was completed by Thursday afternoon. I will forever be thankful for this place they took a little stress off my back! This is the best tailor in town by far !!! Ive been at least a dozen times over the past couple years for my husbands suits and my clothes. Every time the work is impeccable. One time my pants were still a little too long, but they promptly adjusted them for me. If you want a quaint and friendly neighborhood place to go this is it!!!

I brought several military uniforms to Sew Chic two days before the Marine Corps ball, which needed some significant alterations. Sonja (I think was her name) was great. She got me just what I needed. In one day, she got two uniforms done that myself and another one of the guys needed to wear that day, then had my Dress uniform tailored and put all the insignia on just as I needed. It was a great experience and everyone was very friendly and helpful.I needed to pick up my uniform on Saturday and didnt realize they would close at noon, Sonja called me to see if I would be able to make it, and kept the shop open to give me time to come down and pick them up. If it wasnt for her awesome customer service and genuine concern about making me look great for the ball, I wouldnt have a uniform at all. Sticker SHOCK! $26 for a simple zipper? And $5 to sew a shirt button back on? Ridiculous. Yes, I know the spill, “takes time and effort, quality work... etc”But come on, a zipper is a zipper.One star was received only because they were able to do it the same day, of course for an extra cost.

To say this place is great is an understatement. I read the reviews before choosing an alteration place for my wedding dress and I had heard good things about Sew Chic. Every detail was looked over by the employees and the seamstress made sure that every part of the dress sat perfectly when I wore it. Make sure to bring bigger projects to them early so that they can take the time to tailor your clothes because its absolutely worth it.

I had to get my bridesmaid dress altered. Decided to try this place because of the reviews I saw. I was 33 weeks pregnant so it had to be altered 1 week before weddings date because of my growing belly. The woman was very nice and got my dress altered in a flash! I did pay a rush fee. Only reason I gave this place 4 out of 5 stars is because of the price! It costs me $150 for my alterations. Super expensive but she does great work.

I went to Sew Chic for several alterations to my wedding dress. They were wonderful! Everything turned out perfect! They also made my veil which turned out beautiful as well. I would recommend them to anyone needing alterations.

Very expensive. Over $100 for a basic hem and strap adjustment. Didnt need the work to be rushed either. No special fittings, adjustments or having the dress designed to fit me perfect. Just a basic hem to shorten a dress. Looks just fine and I have no complaints except the price. Plus when I called to ask about picking up my dress the gentleman on the phone couldnt find it. Took him an hour to call me back to say that it was in queue to be worked on next, which indicates that my dress has been sitting there for two weeks and they finished it in two hours. I think there are many other fine seamstresses who could do basic alterations for a fraction of what they charged me. If I needed a crazy request and the best the do it or rushed work then Id understand the price, but Im not too convinced. I still think its overpriced.EDIT: Ive been asked to remove my review by the owners, smh. Nothing negative about this place except the pricing for basic alterations. If youre having a wedding gown altered and want the best then sure, come here. They have great reviews for complicated work. But if several reviews state the pricing for basic alterations is expensive, then maybe thats something to consider. The area has a certain clientele that Im sure dont care about the pricing. This was just my opinion. I also dont appreciate companies hassling customers over negative reviews.EDIT: Finally wore my dress that they altered. The straps were shortened so they wouldnt sit loosely on me and one side fit perfect, but yet the other side slipped off constantly. There was probably 1/2 - 3/4 inch difference in length between the two straps. I stood in a wedding and spent most of the time fixing my strap so nothing would pop out! Even more annoyed now spending all this money just to be fixing my dress all evening.

10 out of 10 would recommend Sew Chic! They did a wonderful job at tightening the sleeves on my wedding dress. It looks as though they didn’t touch the dress, they did such a neat and clean job! My fiancé was satisfied with his suit and said he’s never had a suit that’s fit better. Thank you Sew Chic!!

A little pricey but the did a good job repairing the two blouses that I brought in. One needed a new double hem and the other needed a chain repair.

Sofia at the Broadway locations spent the time to go over 3 suites that i have that have always fit a little big. After about a 30 minute consultation she had my 3 suits and shirts pinned up to perfection. My timeline was only one week and they were more than accomodating! Now all 3 of my nicest and favorite suits fit to perfection! I will only come to Sew Chic from here on for all of my alteration needs!One happy customer,Matthew

If the review can be set as a 0-star review I would put it lower for the hell they had put my fiancé through. They had called to inform us that her dress was finished and as she went to the shop, they had given her a hard time after she asked a few questions. They told her everything was fine, but for God’s sake it was not!The hem was poorly done and frayed. The dress hung down too far so she was tripping all over. It’s ridiculous. They didn’t want to fix it. ALSO: Do Not turn to your co-worker and bash someone in Spanish when you don’t realize how much they speak. Unprofessional. Will never refer anyone here ever. Never coming here again. I will say their price is lower than others, but it’s not worth the trouble. Go spend a few more bucks somewhere for better service.0/5 stars but it doesn’t go lower.

My girlfriends and I have been going to Me Sew Chic for the last several years, and theyve always been very accommodating and understanding! Theyve been especially helpful with last minute alterations to formal gowns and bridesmaids dresses, even when theyve been needed next day or day of. Theyve solved a few nightmares for us! I cant recommend anyone better, and theyre always my go to tailor!

Sophia was very thorough, and made sure that I was happy with everything. She kept me in the loop every step of the way, so that I was involved in the process of my dress fitting. I brought her a picture of a bolero I liked, because I wasnt happy with the one my dress came with, and she made my vision come to life. This my fourth experience taking my clothes to Sew Chic and everytime the service and quality of work has been absolutely outstanding. Would not recommend this place. I took 2 dresses in for alterations, they were both options for my senior panoramic in case I didnt like one, I could wear the other. When I got the back and tried they on they were perfectly fine in length in the front, but in the back is was WAY to short and showed EVERYTHING. Since I got it back later than they had promised, I had no time to find another dress for my panoramic. I am a very petite girl so finding another dress that didnt need alterations was difficult especially with a day to find one. So I ended up not taking my panoramic and was out $80 bucks. Guess they didnt take into consideration my booty.

Professional service and quality work. Alterations were made to my MOH dress and I am so pleased with the results. Big thanks to the women who were very accommodating to my hectic schedule before my best friends big day. I will def use their services for future alterations. Ps. Sophia did alterations on my wedding dress and WOW! Because I put it off, I had to purchase my dress off the rack and it was a size 8 which swallowed me! Im 50 and 100# (clothing size 00). I also didnt realize that all the beading and lace would make alterations even more challenging. Four fittings later, the dress is gorgeous and she is a genius. Highly recommend!

I was at Sew Chic in Leon Springs with my daughter for a fitting at the time this guy walked in at 5:00pm demanding his alterations be completed the very next day. He was extremely rude and insulting to the manager, Maria, who kept apologizing repeatedly for not being able to meet his unrealistic demand. His arrogance and sense of entitlement was disgusting to watch. There were no other customers there at the time or anyone being escorted out the door - ALL LIES!! ***Bottom line is I walked in for the first time with 15 items 1 hour before closing and Maria and her staff were very friendly and more than happy to help with my fitting. Sophia is an angel in disguise I have to wear special garments due to my lymphedema. So anyway my garments did not come in proper and they were custom-made and I was told that they couldnt do the fit that I needed so I purchased the Garment. I brought the Garment to Sew Chic and told Sophia how I needed it to be well needless to say she was able to fix it for me a $1,650 garment that couldnt be done by the company could be done by Sophia thank you Sophia. So if any person out there with a disability that needs garments fixed please bring them to Sophia she can fix them.

The woman who altered my wedding dress in Utah did some serious damage (including a hole where she burned the outermost layer with her iron). With my wedding two months away, I was desperate for some major alterations in a super short amount of time! Best place in town for alterations. You get what you pay for: quality. Rush service is available and the service is immaculate. This should be your first, and only, stop when having your garments altered.

The tailor did not know what a guardsman slant was (aka fishtail, aka angled bottom). Being new to town, im shopping for a tailor. Called Chicago Custom Tailor and asked for cost to do a guardsman slant for my trousers. The gentleman who answered said he was a tailor but did not know what a guardsman slant was. After much explanation and him eventually understanding, I told him that suit-trouser material was wool and the style was slim fit and needed 1 inch slant. His answer..i dont know price, you have to bring here, I have to see it. Really? Sew Chic and two other tailors were able to give me price over phone...And you didnt even know what a guardsman slant was. How are you a tailor!

This place is way too expensive. I went to get a vest made for my friend wedding and they charge me way too much just for a stupid vest never come back again.

The best Alterations & Tailoring shop in town. Fast and friendly service, and the work is always top notch. I take all my clothing that needs to be altered to this shop.

First time I came to get some pants done, I got charged 46$. They did a ok job. Not worth the 46$ and the 80miles drive to get here. Seacond time I show up to have some pants done, they charge me even more. 50$ for the same job and it will take a week. Last time it took 3 days. I Highly DONT RECOMMEND coming here. They will rip you OFF!!STAY AWAY!!!

Inferior, substandard, over priced work. I took in a formal skirt to be shortend. The result: uneven length and shorter than at the fitting, fabric gathering at the waistline was not evenly spaced, and the zipper no longer lay flat but had waves. I am very dissatisfied.

Going back today for the third time because they have not let me down yet.
