One of the better stores in San Antonio if you only deal with the older gentleman that I think is the store owner. I have been here several times and dealing with the other staff has been mediocre at best. The guy I believe to be the owner is nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. The remaining staff is usually lacking in one of those qualities. Prices are slightly high, but that is to be expected from a smaller gun store. But I will pay a little more not to deal with some of the other local gun stores.

Went in the staff most helpful for me I purchased some items. The staff helped me and gave good advice about Black powder Fire arms.

I have done business with them. They are independent and do try the best to help everyone. I have been there there multiple times and at times they can seem short with customers. Take a step back and you will see there doing the best they can. The world does not revolve around you! You do see they try the best they can. I stop by from time to time often just looking. For a place that knows I am more often than not just looking and known for not buying anything they still make sure that my questions get answered

This is a great little shop with a little bit of everything. The owner is very helpful as are all the sales reps. If they dont have what youre looking for, chances are they know where you can get it. They have a great selection of ammunition and guns, and can help you fill out your paperwork if youre a first-time buyer.

1 of the best places to buy a gun. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Went to Texas Guns and asked a question and I felt if I was bothering the guy even though he wasnt doing anything and I was the only customer. David Day the owner out at Powderhorn answered all my questions even though he was selling a more expensive gun to another customer. Even my girlfriend feels welcomed here. Prices are good compared to the other gun shops.

This is one of the only places I buy guns from. They are down to Earth and dont try to rip you off. If they dont have it they can normally get it in a timely manner. The best thing is is that they are very patient in answering questions and have a good deal of knowledge.

Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and will answer any questions you may have, and will make sure you pick the right firearm for your situation wether it be for home defense, concealed carry, or just to bust a few rounds at the range every now every now and then. My dad had a good experience once. Bad one today. Not the best customer service when you are told to go home and find a sku. First time he went someone brought the book out and he bought a pistol. This is why he came back. Not sure if he will go back. I told him to take his money elsewhere.

This place is a big joke, I was told by Peter Griffin who knew my situation I would be able to buy their product then wait a several days for the back ground check to come back to pick up the weapon OR if they didnt hear back in a four days theyd be able to give me the gun Id bought days ago. well I call the morning of, mind you its a work day and they encourage me its time to go with plan B my gun is ready blah blah blah I drive 91 miles from work pass four counties lines and they had a change of heart for reason they rather not have discussed, mind you the background was still pending not denied but that rude pencils neck tree ornaments was so disrespectful, entitled, and talking to me like Im a criminal. I got my money and left went to BRACKEN where I found the same gun ( FNH FNX)new but with a muzzle breaker for 200+ dollars less. One of the last memories I have of my dad was shopping here and I wouldnt recommend it to nobody

Good place, 2 box limit on ammo so they have a much better chance of supply these days, friendly guys inside. Dont let the closed door bother you, they will buzz you in after you hit the button. Keeps the riffraff out.

I recommend this place to everyone I talk to... 3 month payment plan same as cash... plus they guarantee what they sell you.. a friend bought mini 14 ruger and wasnt cycling very good took it back. They took it to back to shoot.. came out an said do you want a refund or grab another one of the wall.. grabbed another and they made sure this 1 worked.. 100% customer-service-support-satisfaction

Unbelievably fantastic experience. Ordered a hard-to-find first-time rifle for my kid; found it for $10 less than any competitor in-town through these guys. Took the order over the phone and handled everything so quickly and so smoothly I couldnt believe it. Also got me a couple accessories for a few extra bucks.Asked a gunsmithing question, and they quickly referred me to an expert on the matter. These guys are the real deal all the way through and through. If youre shopping around, make sure to shop here. One of the few places where you can walk in and get what you need anytime you want, always well stocked, and the staff is vary knowledgeable, I drive from Corpus Christi, Texas without concerns about not being able to find what I need.if I do I will call ahead of time, but dont have to, because they are always well stocked and really know their craft.Thats a hard thing to find in todays fast paced world

Fairly large selection and staff was friendly and helpful. But prices were higher than I expected. Not as bad as Nagels prices, though. They dont do FFL transfers either. I might consider them next time I want to buy a hard to find gun.

I just traded in and bought a new gun from them today. I have taken it to Gander Mtn. the night before because I had seen that their guns were fair priced and they bought firearms, but their offer was like a slap in the face to me. The guy behind the counter there did tell me that Powderhorn would probably offer a whole lot more then they ever could. I took it to the guys in there and they offered triple what GM wanted plus they had the gun that I wanted in stock! Plus their staff was very helpful, courteous, and easily approachable (none of that take a number crap). Now, their price was higher than the other guys price, but with what they offered and their customer service, I just had to purchase from Powderhorn. Im glad to say that from now on if I am in the market to purchase a new firearm, that Powderhorn will definately be the first place that I go to if not the only.

Hello.I walked in said hello. I stated Im looking around for prices on m&p 9 full and a glock 17. This guy was rude.... wow!!!!!! Im a registered nurse and I know that Customer service is very important. Very rude no help considering I mentioned Im first time buyer. I asked a second time in the process and he rudely repeated him self as if he was annoyed I ask d a second time.I hav visited this place previously about a couple years ago just to browse and everyone was great however.VERY DIDAPOINTED CONSIDERING I WANTED THIS place to be my go place for MY GOAL IN Sarting a new investment for my family.Wow. I have to now find another place. That sucks. I curious if he just had a bad day or something that can give a rational for his behavior.This occurred 11/10/16
