I would leave 1000 stars if I could. I have been going here for 8 years and every single time, I am treated like I am the most important customer. They will do repairs and not charge at all, they don’t try to up charge you, and tonight they stayed open late for me. They are all so kind and they have a customer for life!!

Went in to have a flat tire replaced today. Caleb and Burt were knowledgeable and helpful and the whole process was simple. I’m typically used to being up-charged on unnecessary stuff at car repair shops… these guys were totally different and actually suggested I not waste my money on several options that I asked about. I really appreciated that! Would definitely come back to this location if needed in the future!

The last time I went to this location, it wasnt the best experience but they at least got what I needed done so I was content. This time I set an appointment for this morning to get my oil changed and there was an older man working there that I didnt meet the last time who treated me like trash because all I wished to get done was an oil change. He also insulted my intelligence as I was leaving. I was very surprised at how I was treated and I dont recommend going to this shop unless you plan on getting lots of work done. Im sure they will treat you like royalty if you are planning on spending alot.

Id give them 3 stars based on their quality of service. Its neither good nor bad; its simply satisfactory. Ive never had an issue with their service, but I havent ever been impressed by it either.I took away 1 star because (A) theyre liars, and (B) their mechanics dont give a f#@k about your car.(A) When you call in to check their service availability, they will lie to you and tell you that they arent busy at all, and that if you bring it right away, they might be able to finish it today, but if not today, then for sure tomorrow. Dont fall for it. Theyll even lie about not having the right part in stock and that theyll need to keep your car another 2 days while they order it even though every AutoZone and OReillys in the valley caries the part for $13.(B) The mechanics will leave greasy hand prints and fingerprints all over your door, hood, and seat. Have fun cleaning up after their carelessness. I hope you dont have an expensive interior.

This location has helped me immensely. They go above and way beyond. Incredibly honest and fair prices if it’s not something they are able to sort out in a pinch but most of the time they can. I was stressed because my car started having a problem the first day I was to start a teaching job. They relieved me of so much anxiety and I could rant on and on but I digress. Amazing!

Is there less than a star? Ok can tell you that they lied and were out to take advantage of me. They made me feel like they couldnt be bothered with me. They mis diagnosed my car and then tried to tell me it was going to cost over 2000 to fix. Took it to a different place with big o write up and they laughed at big o. This was the worst big o I have ever been too. I am normally a very loyal customer but they sure didnt earn it.

I got there before they closed expecting they’d require me to leave my car overnight since there was no way my tire could be fixed in time before they closed. Not only did they stay late, they patched my tire for free. Their costumer service is amazing and I won’t go anywhere else!!

It was OK pretty good front desk help.also tech checking to make sure proper tires to replace. Kinda stinks they do do all the paper work for dmv emissions

I took my old, beat up car to them for new tires and they treated it like a new Mercedes. I’m impressed by the amount of care they put into their service and their attention to detail. They even washed my windows. Looking forward to the next time I need new tires.

I go to this big o whenever I need any tire services or an oil change. Just today I noticed that I had lost one of the caps to my tire valve thing so I popped in for a new one. A very helpful young gentleman, Skylar, went above and beyond and replaced all 4 for me— while I sat in my car, safe from the rain. Really he could have just given me one at the desk inside, but he did not. Somebody give this guy a raise!

Amazing customer service. Fast. Thorough. Trustworthy. Skylar & Giovanni were incredible. They took care of my limping car by patching my tire. I was in and out in under 30 mins. They didn’t even charge me a cent to do it. So impressed. Will absolutely come back when my tires need to be replaced. Highly recommend.

I drive all the way from Murray to downtown to use this location passing up handfuls of other tire shops and even other Big OnTires.... and I will continue to do so. They have fantastic alignment techs here. The service is always honest and they quick and easy to work with. They always deliver on time and a real pleasure to talk to. Excellent customer service at the Big O Tires the other day. I went in thinking I needed a new tire and they fixed my screw in my tire for free in less than 20 minutes. They even cleaned my windows for me. I will be back to buy my tires at this location, only! 300 West location downtown SUCKS. GO TO the South Temple LOCATION! They are amazing, fast, professional and so very friendly.

These guys have helped me build my 1999 Honda CR-V from falling apart to solid working order. But more than that Davon and the team he has there are phenomenal when it comes to vehicle knowledge.The biggest job that I had done was a transmission rebuild and a rack and pinion replacement. The rack and pinion went out but thanks to the 1 year warranty they quickly got it replaced. Transmission has been holding strong ever since.

The customer service here was great. Brought an older car in for new tires/alignment on a busy Saturday and they were quick and friendly. Talked to multiple staff members and all were great. As a younger woman going to car place isn’t always my favorite but these guys were awesome.

I brought my rebuilt Tesla to this Big O tires store for A/C recharging and a correction alignment. The mechanics performed none of the two, gave nonsensical excuses for this, and when they returned the car, I found it was totally misaligned (much worse than before) and that they had kept parts from it. I recovered the parts several days later, and they offered a small discount in the alignment, but the car was not properly aligned, tire wear was not even and the steering wheel was tilted. They said my frame was shifted to the drivers side, and a very rude guy told me that I brought them a wrecked car and that I should be happy they were servicing me.So I took my car to Tesla one year later for alignment. No bent frame (I specifically asked about this). No problems aligning it, no more a tilted steering wheel.No guys, my car is not wrecked. My car is perfectly fine. You just dont know how to do a proper four-wheel alignment.Im sorry to say this, because there are some nice people in that workshop (and some others you want to avoid), but please, go somewhere else.Photos: First, alignment result at BOT, with note about the bent frame rails. Staff very knowledgeable but having problem ordering new special all season tire, been there twice with expedient-first visit there’s about 45 minutes, second visit 1.5 hours with them telling me at 5:30 for the 4 o’clock appointment that they sent the wrong tires. Suggestion, check item when received and check again upon customer arrival this way customer will not suffer others mistake. Parking is scary with very little manoeuvre ability and this time the person driving my car in the bay didn’t have something in his back pocket, he actually put a paper mat down.🤗

Had a bad experience back in 2009 and said I would never go back, but was referred from a friend that things had changed. Wow did they! Cory and the guys went above and beyond and I feel I got a great deal as well. I would highly recommend this Big O!!!

They did a good job of replacing my front brake pads, but their communication is severely lacking. I had a 10 a.m. appointment scheduled, they originally quoted me that they would be done in an hour and a half and would call me then. It took them 4 hours, and me calling them twice, to get them to tell me what was going on and ask me to authorize the work. They told me to pick up my car at 4 p.m. when they were closing and that they would have it done by then for sure – instead I waited another hour and fifteen minutes. I appreciate them taking the time to work after-hours on my car, but they need to improve on quoting customers accurately. Totally fine to tell me it will take all day, so I can plan around that, but please work on giving your customers accurate time estimates.

They were so nice and willing to work with me with my warranty. Definitely went above and beyond helping me out as fast as possible

The Big O on S Temple has always been my go-to place for any tire needs and then some. They’ve always been extremely professional over the phone and in-person and ensure that all my questions are answered correctly. And, they have a great turnaround time for emergencies (aka hitting a curb on the way to work and blowing a tire and picking it up on my way home). I highly, highly recommend this location, even if it may be a drive. Thanks Big O.

Great customer service. Came to Salt Lake City from another state on vacation when I noticed I had a slow leak on one of my tires. They told me I had a bead leak and they fixed it for free. I would highly recommend this place

Can’t say enough about this Big O location! They do amazing work and they’re staff is honest and trustworthy! I used to live up the street and started taking my care there out of convenience. I’ve moved twice since then and continue to make the drive to S Temple because I know these guys will take care of me and my car. Thanks for all of your hard work!

UPDATE: gave them a second chance and they blew it again. Waited for DOUBLE the amount of time they said it would be and not the kindest/most understanding employees. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Great quality, but horrible time management.I set an appointment to have my oil changed and tides rotated and was told that it would be quick, since I set an appointment. When I got there, the man told me it would be closer to 45 minutes (which is annoying, but I was willing to wait). Over an hour later, Im still sitting in the waiting room, late to work, and frustrated that I set an appointment in the first place. I understand there are walk-in customers, but this location did not prioritize my set appointment. Kind workers, but horrible time management.Tires were rotated great and oil looks good! Quality, but long wait.

Genuinely the best experience Ive ever had at a Big O anywhere in the country. Took care of my issues quickly and were as detailed as possible when it came to giving me the information I needed. Very satisfying to have an issue and having a great experience getting it handled!!

Best service ever!! We will never get tires anywhere else. I was packed up and ready for a road trip with my two little kids when I noticed a nail in my tire. I stopped by this specific shop and their service was absolutely incredible! They took my car in right away and informed me that changing my rear tire depended on the position of the nail. 30 minutes later my original tire was fixed and I was on my way out of town with two happy kids. Not only were they kind, efficient, and honest, but they didn’t even charge me for their service! GREAT SERVICE!!!!

I had a great experience here! The customer service was fantastic! The two guys at the front desk, Jason and Logan, were very friendly and happy to help explain things to me. They changed my oil and Pulled two pieces of metal out of my tire and patched them up really quick.

I brought my car in due to a specific issue that I was having. They didnt ask any details of the issue, though I did try to give them the info. They realigned my car again for free since it was in the 90 day window, but the issue I tried to describe to them was still happening. Its fine if they cant solve these kinds of problems, but I wish I had known because I thought my car was fine but I ended up having a terrifying drive on the way to work and ended up dropping my car off at a different mechanic. I no longer trust this shop or the people there to listen to my concerns and tell me what they can help with and what they cannot.

I discovered this store almost 12 years ago. I have used Big O tires and service pretty much my whole adult life. I have never had better service then I have here. I recommend them to all my friends (mostly elderly) and have heard nothing but gratitude for recommending them. They even helped me decide on what automobile to purchase, and where to get it. That also turned out to be the absolute best automobile purchasing experience Ive every had. Shortly after the purchase, I was going to have to make a long trip which would take me over numerous mountains and would definitely require traveling in snow conditions. I took my new car over with the intent of replacing my tires with Big O tires (Ive had years of winter driving experience on Big O All-terrain tires). After looking at what I had they told my what I had were more than adequate, would be safe and would handle snow conditions just fine. I was shocked! I had even told them that I had come to purchase a new set of tires. The current tires are about used up but this store again advised me that I probably had at least another 5,000 miles of safe wear on them. I can assure you, come October, before my next winter trip, I WILL purchase a new set of tires from these guys. Best store I have EVER dealt with!!!

Jose was great! I needed my air pressure checked in my tires. I went to jiffy lube first around the corner and no one greeted me even though they just stared at me when I came in. I know everyone closes at 6 but I don’t get off work until 5 and I got there a little before closing. The customer service at Big O is unparalleled, down to the minute! I’ll always get my tires from here in the future.

I hardly ever review a place, unless it’s really great or really bad. This one is great. These guys were extra friendly and helpful and got me taken care of quickly. Waiting area is nice and comfortable. Definitely recommend this shop.

Been going to these guys for 10+ and always quick and kind! Got the Big-O Big Foot Tires, a little louder than expected. Traction was pretty good due to having solid ice up in Oregon. Brought my 2002 Subaru outback in for a check engine light and suspected timing issues, sure enough BR, Davon, and Tyler were all amazing helping me figure out what plagued my car, fixed the timing issue and replaced my timing belt, water pump, thermostat, etc! The car is now running great, its almost like a new vehicle again!Thanks Big O!

While I dont love when I have to take my car in for repairs, it is seriously a pleasure to bring it to Big O. The employees who work at this location are so friendly and knowledgeable. They explain the work I need done, answer any questions I may have, and dont make me feel like Im being sold stuff I dont need just to make some extra money or just because Im a girl who might not have much knowledge regarding vehicles. This place deserves 5 stars. I’ve had 3 vehicles worked on here and every time they leave me amazed with their quality and performance.What you must understand is that this place receives way more traffic than most other tire places. Sure there’s occasionally a little bit of a wait, but I’ve never felt like I could trust someone else in the car industry more than these gents. This is the best Big O Tires! They are right across the street from my office. Getting my car serviced is so easy, I drop my car off on my way to work and pick it up on my way home. The guys who work here do an excellent job and make me feel confident that my car is being taken care of.

We had our car breakdown 3 times consecutively within a span of a month or so. Each time they said it was a different thing and asked for more money than was necessary for parts then charged on top of that for labor. The whole situation has been stressful. First it was the starter then the battery then the alternator. They should have been able to figure out the problem with the parts the first time we came instead of causing us stress after stress and trying to make an extreme profit. I am very disappointed.

Brendan was super helpful and everyone was very friendly. They were able to get me all set within an hour. Highly recommend! This is also a great location because you can walk over to City Creek within 5 minutes to kill some time while waiting.

Would definitely recommend. Although they are mainly a tire shop I’ve had a ton of maintenance work done on my car here. Jon was super helpful as well as the other few guys I worked with. They’re reasonably priced with above average service. This is the only place I’ll take my car while I’m in the area.

I previously purchased tires from Big O and came back for an air check. I also had my check engine light on, and the technician looked at it and provided me with a diagnosis which was just a quick fix that I could do myself. I have been here twice now and I dont feel intimidated or pressured at all. I had a bad experience at a competitor which made me choose Big O for my tire purchase. As a younger female, it is hard to find a shop that I can trust, but I definitely feel welcome at this location. Thank you!

I had a terrible experience at this location a few months ago where the man helping me was super condescending. I thought I would just change where I go to take care of my tires, but this review is about new information I found out this week that could have cost me so much more in the months before I got my car serviced again/my tires checked.Back when I went to this location and drove off in my car after getting my tires checked, my car started grinding and popping at the tire I got changed. When I came back to the shop, it took me arguing and fighting the man helping me to convince him to even look at my tire because he didnt believe me. After it got checked, he admitted someone didnt put the tire on right but tried to divert the issue by giving me the most stereotypical condescending You girls dont know how to take care of your tires speech like it was somehow related to the issue at hand. Offhandedly though, he also mentioned there was a bolt missing but literally told me it didnt matter and Id be safe to leave on the 3000 mile road trip (the whole reason I was there, dont take care of my tires heaven forbid). I should have gotten a second opinion and not trusted someone with such a lack of respect, but when I went to ANOTHER tire shop this week to get new snow tires, they informed me that the missing bolt that was no big deal was the bolt that holds my brake caliper up. I cannot even comprehend how this man, especially knowing I was going on a long distance drive, could send me off in good will that it was fine and not worth looking into. Either he had ill intent, cared more about getting me out of there without following through, or he isnt knowledgeable enough to offer safe service, and all of those reasons are unacceptable. I often go on long trips and commute through the canyon everyday, and his negligence to inform me on the matter could have costed me so much more if my brakes failed me even on my regular day to work in the mountains. I do get my tires checked, and I do take care of them exactly for that reason, and I cant imagine how much time I had left on that ticking time bomb regardless. I do not recommend anyone go to this location unless you want unsafe service and someone who cant treat their customers with basic human respect or show concern for their well-being on the road.

Im always blown away by the customer service offered at this location. I dont usually do reviews, but I just wanted to commend everyone at this location for their professionalism and friendliness. The service writers are always accommodating and knowledgable. I feel lucky to have this shop in by backyard.

I have been coming to Big-O for years. Bring both my truck and car in for service. This time however was not their best effort. My fiancée brought my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. When she got the car back the warning light for low tire pressure was still on. She went back to the store and she was told she just needed to drive the car around for awhile and it would reset. Their is a reset button on the dash of the care to reset the sensor. On top of that all my settings on the dash had bee reset. The display is changed and the blue tooth is no longer working. Currently I am in the process of trying to figure out why things are the way they are.

Ive been going to this Big O location for about three years and Ive had nothing but great experiences. All of the employees I have dealt with have been very polite, going out of their way to give me great customer service. They are very honest and dont pressure me into buying the most expensive tires. When I had winter tires put on last year I must have come on the busiest day of the year - they stayed at least two hours after closing time to complete my tire change that day. I highly recommend this Big O!

My husband and I just moved from Florida to Salt Lake City a several months ago, but we finally found our go-to place for all our car needs. My husband had gotten his all-weather tires and an emissions test from this Big O months ago, and was very happy with the service, so I decided to stop by too.My Scion TC needed some TLC for an upcoming road trip to South Utah after being garaged for a while. We went with new rear brake pads—since the fronts were changed semi-recently–fluids check-up, and a new windshield wipers with an oil and filter change. We also got tires balanced, checked, and rotated.Devon was warm, friendly, and listened to everything I needed. Then, he and the techs delivered with excellent, budget-friendly service. My husband and I will definitely be back any time we need a tune up or new tires.

Was able to drop my car off and come back to pick it up! Had my alignment done there after firestone declined to do so for whatever reason (that’s a different review) as for big o tires go get all your tire needs there! The guys are easy to work with and keep in touch if they have questions or need to do more work! Great crew

Again this location (178 E South Temple Salt Lake City, UT 84111) has far exceeded expectations! I had to purchase a set of tires for my truck before making a surprise last minute trip out of state and had 2 days to get it done. I had fully expected at least one day to order the tires in and make an appointment to have them installed, but these guys completely made a stressful time an outstanding experience. A quick phone call as soon as they opened and they informed me that they had the tires in stock and when could I get my truck in? So, before lunch, there were new tires installed and I could focus on getting everything else taken care of. Thank you so very much for your amazing service and again, you guys are the best shop in town!

Huge selection, and a wonderful (and helpful) staff.I needed tires for an unexpected trip to California, and was having an absolutely impossible time finding the right size.Low and behold, Big O had them in stock and at a great price. 2 hours after calling to check, I was on the road with new shoes for the car!I wont buy tires from anywhere else in Utah. Friendly, quick service, attention to detail, and knowledgable employees. Just a fantastic experience all around.

I rarely write reviews about anything but I was so please with the boys at Big O, I had to take a minute out of my day for them. Jason and his store manager are running a business that I will probably always come back to. Upon receiving some misinformation on my first call for a quote, they called me right back and did everything they could to get me the best deal on some weather worthy tires. It was my first time buying tires and as a young female, I get very nervous that Im going to be taken advantage of and make the wrong decision on investing in my car. However, I didnt feel that way at this location and will probably always come back to this store simply because the trust is there and I felt very well taken care of. Not to mention, it took only about 20 minutes to get my gorgeous new tires on. Thank you so much, Im very grateful for my tire buying experience!

Barely made it into their lot with a flat tire, 6,30pm Friday August 2. They were technically closed but still willing to help. Unfortunately the tire was damaged beyond repair but they put on the spare with no charge, no problem. Many thanks and I will be back in the future.

Got there 15 minutes before closing with a nail in my rear tire and 3 tired (pun intended) children. All the workers were super nice and accommodating and fixed my tire. They couldn’t locate my wheel lock and still figured out a way to get it done which required them to stay later than closing. While we waited one employee seriously entertained my kids. Such a good experience, I highly recommend this location!

Devon was awesome! We had just gotten into town the night before after a 1700 mile trip on new tires. We woke up to a flat tire this morning. Devon put us in the front of the line. The guys found a metal shard in the tire, patched it, and they sent us on our way at no charge! Really nice folks, upbeat, and friendly. That means a lot when you’re far from home. Friendly service and not too pushy on upgrades and warranties. I had four tires replaced on my Subaru and they did the work in ~2 hours while I waited. Because they took longer than they promised, they gave me what amounted to ~5% discount beyond our agreed upon price which I thought was nice.

Great service and very knowledgeable. They let you know if you have additional problems and fix on the spot. I am from out of state and let them know i was passing thru. They got me in right away. Awesome job to all the guys.Totally recommend.

I love the convenience of getting my oil changed while Im working. Plus they go above and beyond. When they rotated my tires they found a screw in the front passenger tire. They fixed the tire and didnt charge me anything!!

In the last few months I’ve had five, FIVE flat tires which is not happy to say the least. Big O has fixed them all for free, which is something we should never take for granted because that’s a great service. Today my fifth flat tire started to sag, so I took it in.While waiting I got talking to some of the other customers, and unfortunately one of them had scheduled ahead of time to have her tires rotated, and still waited for about an hour. I can imagine that’s because they just get really busy. Just have someone to pick you up so you can drop a car off, or bring something to read! Thankfully they also provide magazines and a TV that works most of the time.I also regret to say that part of my experience waiting included hearing a little animosity between the employees, but I’ve been here more than once, and it would be unfair to penalize a business for having humans for employees.Happily I can say that the staff is friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to. Gavin even took me into the garage to show me exactly what I hit, why my tire was permanently damaged, and why it would be safer for me to buy new tires. I didn’t feel pressured to buy new tires, and he gave me advise to stay safe if I did decide to not replace my tire (he certainly recommended I replace it).Gavin also recommended that coming Saturday morning is a great time to come in as they’re not as busy then for quicker tire rotations etc.If you have questions, I think they’ll take good care of you here, that’s been my experience at this location!

I took my Mini for an alignment in August and discovered I was desperately in need of new tires. The man who helped me was extremely knowledgeable about tire options and was sensitive to how much I was comfortable spending. Im very happy with what I ended up with. Then this week, I discovered a slow leak in one of the tires. I took it in this morning, and they fixed it for free! Ill definitely be coming back in the future.

I have been bringing my cars here for 15 years. Everything from tires, to oil changes and mechanical issues. I have always been treated with respect and kindness, this team is great! Just today, I brought my car in because I picked up a nail in my tire. The thing is, I didnt have one of their tires, I have a new leased vehicle. The tire was able to be repaired, within 15 minutes, and they didnt charge me. They know and understand customer service, I will be going to Big O when my lease needs new tires.

I ran over something over the weekend that gave me a flat. I went into Big O on my way to work this morning. After being told by AAA that I would have to get a new tire, Big O said we can patch that! Since I was not first in line, I left the tire there. A few hours later, they called to inform me that my tire was ready for pickup. When I arrived, they mounted the tire and placed the spare back under the rear deck. Even though the tires came from the dealer, they repaired it at no charge. No hassle. No upcharge. No expensive recommendation. Loved the experience.

I dont usually do stuff like this but these guys were so great today! I had a flat tire and they replaced it so fast. I went to start my car and it wouldnt start. They did a battery scan and helped me figure that out for free. Great customer service and affordable prices.

Good place to buy tires on the better end. Price might not suit you though. Didnt seem like they were unfair just saying its not a discount store.

It upsets me there are tire places/car washes/gas stations in downtown. They don’t make the city aesthetically pleasing. I wish there was a restaurant here or a statue or a fountain.

I love coming to this location. They have some of the friendliest, thoughtful, and most helpful employees Ive seen in an auto shop. On my most recent visit, when the maintenance on my car turned out to be more complicated than anticipated, the associate even offered to give me a ride to work! Ive never seen an employee in the auto repair industry care about a customer that much. Theyve earned my business.

I brought my car in a few times and was always impressed with the quality of work and the friendliness of the staff! Especially Davon! Hes incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and an overall nice guy! 11/10 Recommend coming here!

I dropped in without an appointment and they looked really busy but still got me in and out in a reasonably amount of time. They were happy to help.

I came in with what I thought was a battery problem. Upon further checking, the technician thought that it might be an alternator problem. He asked me to leave the car so they could perform some additional testing. An hour later i got a call stating that both the alternator and battery were good! They offered to hook the car up to a charger for several hours to boost the battery, which was appreciated. When I picked up the car they told me no charge Wow, I could not believe it! You have a new customer for life.

I have had 3 wonderful experiences with this location of Big O Tires. The two men at the sales desk that I have worked with were helpful, informative, honest and efficient. They have gone above and beyond with their customer service, giving me a discount on a new tire after I had blown a tire that didnt have road hazard warranty. They have never tried to up sell me on any product, which I have experienced with other mechanics and even other Big O locations. A big thanks for always making me feel like I am in good hands.

They over tightened the screw during oil change and it caused a big problem when I try to do my oil change next time. Besides, they dont provide a sticker with reminder of the miles of next oil change.

When I bought snow tires, I didnt get the old tires back. I thought they were storing them for me, but when I went to have my snow tires taken off, they said they dont store tires. My window wasnt broken and my doors and trunk were locked, so they werent stolen. They said they didnt get rid of them, but I dont know what else could have happened. They said that if they had gotten rid of them, it would have said so on my reciept, but it didnt. Make sure you get your tires back, or youll have to drop $400 to replace perfectly good ones.
