I was in Vernon Powell around six months ago and the service was terrible but I needed shoes and spent close to $700. Fast forward to today. The service was just as bad if not worse! I walked to the front counter near the entrance where there was a young man and older lady behind the counter. Neither greeted me..so I said hi to the lady and asked if they sold shoe polish.She shrugged her shoulders and said I dont know ask the sales person on the floor! I said show me a sales person. She walked from. behind the counter seemed disgruntled and found an associate. Then she pointed at me and said SHE needs shoe polish. Rude. Then the associate walked me to the front counter where I originally asked the lady about shoe polish. There the other her young man stood . The shoe polish was there the whole time. I dont know why these employees hate their job so much! I have been in the service industry for a long time and this is disappointing and disgusting!. I will never recommend anyone go purchase shoes shoe polish or anything from this store. And note to the owner .Its painfully obvious you know this behavior is happening. So keep your apologizeies and your disgruntled employees and your over priced shoes! ..if I could give a ZERO rating I would!

I am a frequent shopper at this location and I must say there are friendlier people who work on the weekends I guess. The only saleswoman who greeted me today was Linda after she noticed I was there. My mom and I always go to Linda. She is always very helpful and very kind. I had been in the store for about 5 min before Linda had noticed me and three people who were employees there didn’t even greet me or ask how they could assist me. I also noticed that two other African American women were not greeted or asked if they needed help. It seems to be a trend with responses like this as I continue to read reviews. Good quality help is hard to come by and hopefully this review can bring about some change.

My experience on Saturday was second to none. This is a company that has a strong culture and core values to deliver the customer service that they provided. Upon walking into the store I asked two of the salesman on the floor for Allen whom is very knowledgeable when fitting running/ athletic shoes. Even when asking them for another associate whom I was recommended by other customers they did not flinch or assume any negative body language knowing the sale would go to another associate. This was a great sign right away. During the consultation the customer service and knowledge of the correct shoes for my body was second to one. I highly recommend. Thanks!

Stopped in on a very busy Sunday. The female employee who helped us was wonderful. She helped us for a long time and gave us her full attention without becoming impatient or annoyed. I ended up buying 2 pairs of shoes. I will definitely be going back for fall shoes for all 5 of us!

We had an excellent experience at Vernon Powell Shoes today.a young man tried to help me find steel toed work shoes, (very hard to find in ladies sizes).I didnt find what I needed,so we went to the mens work shoes where Jim helped me find the perfect shoes.Jim is extremely knowledgeable,friendly and helpful.Also,he helped my husband find the proper insoles for his work boots!We would give Him 6 stars if possible.Outstanding customer service! Went there today to get my finance works boots and they where so kind and helpful. He has bad feet and it was nice they took the time to find something that would really work for him.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience while buying shoes. We were waited on by a fellow named Kevin, a great person and sales man, he should be commended.

I made a quick stop to see if they had the Hoka brand athletic shoes. They did! The sales person was friendly, knew the shoes and the differences in the different styles. They made recommendations and bright back different sizes and styles. This was great because I could compare and choose the style I liked. It was quick, efficient and helped me minimize my time.

Well I wish I can say they same as all the other reviews, but I can’t . Every time I go into this store alone no one seems to even say hello or anything . But when I do go with my husband for some reason (which I think I know why) everyone wants to help . It’s been a problem every time . Today I went looking for new sperrys and instead of someone asking me if I need help, while more then 2 people were standing around, I had to ask for help and they answered just what I asked and didn’t even ask me if they could help me with anything else . But on the upside of things, the only ones hurt are them . Because I will not take my business there anymore ! I do have to say thank you to the one lady in the kids department that did help me, Tamma . She was very helpful and didn’t think twice about helping me . Oh and by the way I did notice another Hispanic couple, who as well didn’t have anyone approach them for help . Sad I must say !

When you lock doors as customers are entering at 6pm that is rude! Yes, you close at 6; but some poeple still have to work! Not everyone get off until after 5pm and work weekends!!! Guess you dont need the business!

Kudos to Chloe for exceptional service given in search of tennis shoes for my daughter. We had been shopping in the area for much of the afternoon to no avail. Chloe was able to bond with my daughter to determine exactly the type of shoes she wanted and we were able to make a purchase.

Good place to try shoes, but the prices are way higher then anywhere else. Also they say they have college discount, but when you go to get it, its only for certain colleges. Prices are consistently $30 higher than any where else for the same shoes, and the reccomendations they give are not always the best.

Commission based idiots. I saw an item I liked around closing time, slept on it, called first thing to verify it was still there and have it held. These guys are gonna tell me they have a NO HOLD POLICY in COMMISSION BASED SALES. What kind of bimbo doesnt try and close the sale right then and there? Theyve lost a customer today.

They were helpful but rushed us out at 650pm on a Saturday cuz they were closing at 7? On a Saturday?my girl still needed a pair...

The store has a good selection however the staff are circling a half hour before the store closes. I went to check out 10 til closing and had to go to the other end of the store because all the employees were busy gossiping in there little circles. Registers and employees should be on the clock until the posted closing time. All of them.
