They have a great little outside sitting area. Perfect weather for it.The food was great. I tried all 3 Gyros.Pork, chicken, and falafel. The chicken was really interesting with the mandarins, candied walnuts and feta.. the flavors were all over the place, in a really good way.But the pork was my favorite over all.Grab a Greek beer too (as seen in pic )Love this place ❤️
Food itself was amazing. Im usually a traditional gyro type of guy, but since Im doing keto I took a salad approach. He made me a gyro salad which was fantastic. He made my friend a chicken gyro which made me jealous. Place is legit and Id be more than willing to come by every week.
Amazing authentic greek meals here! 🇬🇷 I met Kosta, who is not only really friendly and welcoming, but a great chef! Kosta is super knowledgeable about Greece if you want to ask him about the islands. Just about everything here is authentic! Even the snacks sold in the store are from Greece! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and not overwhelming just like it tasted when I was in Greece. There is ample parking surrounding the building. It is safe to eat here during a pandemic because of the garden patio that is well shaded and distanced.. You can even take a fun photo in front of a huge Santorini wall! Definitely worth visiting more than once for a fantastic lunch or dinner!
We came in with a Groupon and were pleasantly surprised by the supremely delicious foods and most hospitable hosts. We highly recommend this place. Its truly a hidden gem.
The food is delicious but the service was awesome!!? Alex went above and beyond to make sure that we got what we wanted how we wanted it thank you Alex awesome job
Fantastic Food, Fantastic Service. Gyros are amazing and fresh. My wife had the chicken gyro and I had the lamb. We will be back for sure
Should have cancelled. We got a gyro salad and chips and a drink. $35 bucks 🤪Usually lamb gyros are made from yummy meat on a turning grill. Not this place. It was stewed or simmered chunks of lamb with the fat still on there. Very little seasoning..Salad had no appeal to it. With a balsamic dressing..umm not what a Greek salad dressing comes with!! And compared to other Greek places..pita Q etc you get what you pay for. Step it up guys.. or business will not make it!
This is a great little restaurant. The food is good and very well priced. I love the selection of olives, cheese, and assorted desserts. They also carry a small selection of greek products, which is great. The folks who own and run this place are so friendly! Its clear that they are the kind of business that appreciate customer loyalty and will give regulars that personalized service that can make a cafe really enjoyable. Definitely a hidden gem.
Excellent FoodThis place has authentic Greek Food, and it is delicious.Service was quick, I ate in their outdoor setting area.
A client of mine recomended this place so tried it for the 1st time. The owner was delightful and enjoyed our talk.Ordered 2 lamb gyros unfortunately the lamb was very fatty and the tecture was mushy not what I expect in a gyro.$27.00 OUCH.Will stick with Euro Cafe.
Wonderful Greek food. Sat outside on their patio and enjoyed the meal. Generous portions that are delicious.
I have no issue with paying the the finer thing in restaurants. Today I went to our local Greek import on Fulton and ordered Lamb Gyro. It was more than discussing. The meat was poorly prepared and a huge disappointment a bit like groule, mooshy shredded like pot roast not at all tasty. Don’t expect I will go back there. I miss OpaOpa.
Gyro was not what I am used to nor did it taste good to me. Had nacho cheese in it.Maybe I don’t know what a real Gyro is supposed to taste like but, I’ve grown up on Gyros and I am very dissatisfied and truly upset that my craving and taste buds did NOT get met.😢
The girls behind the counter werent the friendliest. We ordered two chicken gyros and they definitely werent traditional gyros, they had tangerines and candied nuts. They were more like really good chicken salad sandwiches in a pita.
I love this place!!! Kostas serves four types of gyros -- both full-sized and minis -- including organic lamb, chicken, pork and veggie! I always pair mine with his delicious Gigantes beans and a glass of retsina! The pastries are great, too! With the Greek music playing and the classic Hellenic hospitality, its a place you dont want to leave!!
Delicious food; understand desserts made by the owners wife; great cheese and lemon cake; Greek salad was memorable with lots of feta and balsamic; gyros are fresh and interesting in what is included
A great greek deli with gyros, pastries and more.
Pretty disappointing if you are looking for authentic greek grocery. Feta is ok but overpriced. Staff didnt even know what Kasseri cheese is. (You use it for saganaki. They dont have it.). Dolmades tasted like they had been around a while.
Greek Market and deli just finding its stride during a pandemic! The gyros are huge and cupped by delicious warm pita. Real Protein! Not preserved.
The last two times I went, they were out of chicken. I even called them the second time beforehand to check, but no one answered the phone. Please order more chicken so that your customers can have what they want.
Great variety of Greek cheese. The dolmas were amazing! Will definitely be back to try the gyros!
Another great meal and during the lunch hour, in their pleasant garden. Happy to see other people dining at this great Cafe
Such a cool spot! Gyro and Moussaka were both great. Patio is great for social distancing. Like a lot of reviews say, Kostas makes the whole experience. So welcoming and kind.
Owner is super friendly and obviously into his food and little treasures from Greece.
Great food and take away items. The owner embodies the type of hospitality that Greeks are known for. I cannot recommend a better place for Greek food in Sacramento.
Please swing by Kosta’s Greek market-cafe. The food is fine and the host is warm and friendly. Seating can be found in the terrace outside. In addition to your choice of meal, Greek desserts are available and so is Greek wine! There is a grocery of sorts as well.
Wow. What a meal. My wife and I decided to give this place a try for our third wedding anniversary. Kosta gave us quite possibly the warmest welcome I have ever received, period (And thats including family gatherings - Grandpa, take notes). He offered some meal recommendations, along with a dessert and some snacks; we settled on two mini lamb gyros, the karydopita (a wonderful dense, moist honey cake), and some dolmadakia, with a Bundaberg ginger beer to drink.Everything was exceptional. The lamb (locally sourced, I might add!) was beautifully tender and perfectly seasoned, with a superb sauce. The karydopita was delicious; I expected it to be a little too sweet, as honey desserts often are, but I was pleasantly surprised. The orange zest and nuts add a lovely texture. The dolmadakia is phenomenal, with a zesty, tangy taste. It would make a great snack with a beer, I think. All in all, I have nothing but good things to say about Kostas shop. Ill definitely be coming back.
Food is great, all of it. Been here four times so far no complaints. Nice dog friendly patio. Good imported beer.Costa is a great guy - He’ll probably invite you to go to Greece, you should probably take him up on it.
The lamb gyro was amazing. Best gyro of my whole life from this local treasure. Costa was super nice. He was swamped and we had to wait a while since he was the only one working when I went but he was super accommodating in his service. I’m going to go again.
Excellent food you can’t find anywhere else that I know of in Sacramento area I love the lamb gyro and the imported tea drinks and the cheesecake is phenomenal highly recommend. Excellent business owner also he’s a good guy
I ordered chicken gyro and side salad for lunch. The food was good... at least I can give them that credit, hence the two stars instead on one star rating. But otherwise it was an epic fail... 1) price point for lunch for one person $27. Yikes! The food was good, but not that good to pay that ever again. 2) there was one lady working the deli, and only one customer before me, but I had to wait 45 minutes to get my food! Took my entire lunch just to get food! 3) the lady working the deli didn’t even know the menu or what anything was when asked - luckily the customer before me was able to help me out a bit. 4) you can just look at the organization at the front counter and start to hope the food you’re about to eat is handled more orderly than that. :/The food has potential, but I’m not expecting this place to last long if continued to be outlandishly overpriced for a simple lunch and take a take forever to get your food and checked out.Won’t be going back.
They are so friendly and what wonderful foods to choose from. Their imported Greek foods are just delicious and there us a good variety available. Thank you for your generosity Kosta.
Some of the best gyros Ive ever had. The owner is awesome. Super happy, very family friendly. My wife and I have been exploring Greek restaurants near us, specifically looking for the best gyros. The food is cheap and REALLY REALLY good. You will not be disappointed
Fresh baklava!
Amazing food & desserts! Bought me back to growing up next to the nicest Greek family in San Francisco. The owner is super sweet & cooks up a memorable lunch! This will be the ONLY place I eat Greek food!
Repeat visit. Food is great, fresh, and fun to look at.The place seems to be run, every time, like theyve just opened for business. But its part of the charm. Great patio, too.
A quaint little neighborhood Greek place with a deli selection of homemade foods and salads. I split a lamb gyro with my love and it was delicious. The people that work there are friendly and accommodating, and clearly engrained in the local Greek community, and have been for a long time!
If you want to taste the real flavors of Greek food this the place you would like to visit. This is a local owner place to eat and to buy Greek olive oil, feta, olives, etc.. I love this place!!
A preferred place for greek food. Got there near seven, it wasnt very crowded. Will surely make a return trip. The place has a great feel to it. Makes me feel like I am back in Tucson.
Great Customer Service!!! The Lamb Gyro is the best Gyro I have ever eaten. You can taste the authenticity in the flavoring which in my opinion is rare. The Frappé was very delicious as well. I definitely recommend this place!!!
Awesome food, super nice owner
Always clean restaurant and restrooms. Great atmosphere. Proprietor is always engaging with clientele. Food is delicious and well made. My child (who will only normally only eat boxed Mac and cheese voluntarily) loves everything shes tried, from desserts, to lasagna, to the wonderful Kalmata Olives. Have not been disappointed yet. Bread is delicious, everything has always been fresh and tasted wonderful. Baklava is AMAZING!!!
This place gets 1 star for the customer service. Food was terrible. Ordered 2 lamb gyros and 1 bottle of coke and total came to $26. I didnt see any meat on those round spinners like the actual gyro place but I thought maybe its hidden in the back. Paid $26 for gyros n 1 bottle of drink so thought maybe the gyros are out of this world good....WRONG!!! The guy making my gyros opened a warmer and took some shredded flavorless roasted meat from the pot and placed it on pita bread with 2 small pieces of radish n 2 small slices cucumbers. I was just so shocked and dont understand why they call the nasty wrap gyros. There was no flavor whatsoever. My bottle of coke was warm and so when I asked for some ice, guess what?? They had no ice! Waste of money!!!
Ive been waiting for 5 weeks for an order I placed. Theyve got my money, Ive got no merchandise, and they dont respond to inquiries/complaints. Terrible customer service, avoid them like the plague.
Owner Operator Greek restaurant. Got the Lamb Gyros, one of the best I have ever had. The Owner was super friendly and foods amazing. If you like Greek you need to check this place out.
Gyros were amazing! Nice food displays and adorable outside patio to eat and enjoy. Food is fresh and absolutely delicious! Hospitality is great very friendly. Great mom pop shop.
The owner, Costa, is an amazingly genuine person who really cares about the quality of his food and ingredients. The first time I came here I had a lamb Gyro and he offered me to try a very generous piece of the feta he uses in store while I waited. Absolutely terrific food, the lamb is unmatched in Sacramento as it isnt the typical ground Lamb Beef combo thats cooked on a vertical rotisserie. Instead its delicious slow cooked chunks of lamb.I really hope this places sees the popularity and success it deserves, because I truly love the food Ive gotten here.
First timer visiting during a busy lunch hour. The food is delicious. Best gyro Ive had, great customer service especially considering ONE guy is running the entire deli. Delicious!
I love this place! The owner is a great guy and every time I eat here I enjoy the chill and inviting vibe. The restaurant itself is spotless, not a smudge nor dust bunny in sight. I suggest this place to anyone who loves great food and an equally great experience. 👍
Costa is really funny and welcoming! Loved their Lamb Gyro and if you order any of their Pastries and Baklava be sure to thank Costa’s Momma (Mom)! They are divine!
An awesome find - and I was in a major hurry to get some food! Quickly served up 2 great lamb gyros, a lamb Greek salad, and a side of galaktoboureko. All ingredients were fresh, well made, and had an excellent flavor. Great owner who obviously is passionate about the business and keeps a clean place, makes excellent traditional Greek dishes (sad to say I didnt get to try everything), and provides fast service. Highly recommend.
Absolutely delicious food served by very friendly service. A little light on the meat, but the flavor is amazing! Will definitely go more often now that we know its here.
Had lunch here this afternoon and the food was great! Will definitely be back for more. The owner was very friendly and made us feel welcome.A small local business that is worth supporting!
Great location for delicious Greek food. The staff was very helpful and observant. Bring your appetite because portions are large. They have so many great reviews for a reason.
Better than the food I had in Greece! We catered our wedding reception from here and everything was great. We had lines of people complementing the food and going back for seconds and thirds!
Great find! Came by and decided to try it out and was not disappointed. The menu is simple but the quality was there. It is currently limited to gyros, pastries, and appetizers but you wont be disappointed. Its right outside the plaza across from Griffin and Reed eye care.
Had an incredible lunch here. The lamb gyro was the best Ive ever had, and the baklava and dolma were amazing. I also had the nicest customer service Ive ever had in my life.
A+ quality. The best meal Ive had since moving to Sacramento. Everything is fresh and full of flavor.A+ prices. We were very pleasantly surprised with the amount/quality of food we were able to get.A+ customer service. The owner was extremely pleasant and helpful.By far the best restaurant Ive visited in the area.
Only ate there once but will be back. Super friendly owner. Nice environment. Best hummus ever.
Gyros are simply the best I’ve ever had. I’ve been to some great Greek places in New York City, and this tops em all. Plus the owner is a great person and really seems to have a passion for his craft. Hopefully more people have a chance to try it!
I never give ANYTHING 5 stars. This place earned it. Costca was amazing! Coolest dude Ive met in a long time. Youll seriously feel at home here. But it is a restaurant, and the food is great. The other reviews are on point!
My fav place for quality Greek food. The food was amazing. I will be back with my coworkers. This place has a great atmosphere. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I loved.
Greek food and the feeling here is above par. arrived at six, it was not packed. the service was very friendly and kind. prices are decent. atmosphere is like a restaurant in fort worth i loved.
I love this place..Authentic Greek Cuisine..That homey type vibe..Great taste always..A wonderful owner..
Delicious lamb gyro and hummus. The owner is super nice; introduced himself and chatted about Greece. Quick service. TV on with “walks” around Greece!
For starters: PriceyLacks flavor and textureRestaurant overall uncleanA gyro on its own, without drinks or any add on, over $12. The lamb gyro left something to desire, the flat bread was tough, as if left to sit out all day, the meat was on the dry side.
Excellent food! The owner is very friendly and welcoming, too. If you love Greek food, check this place out.
Lamb Gyros are very good, The menu is small but the quality is great! The Chef is very friendly and passionate about food. you can tell by the way he talks. Really nice place i love it
We have searched all over Sacramento for the best Greek food, and let me tell you this restaurant will not disappoint! The wraps are delicious, fresh, and the service is great! Costa the owner is such a sweetheart! This is our new favorite spot!
Found a gem today! The Greek Food Import store is tucked on a side section of Fulton Avenue where the Arden-Arcade and Fair Oaks areas of Sacramento intersect. Owner Kostas is very friendly and welcoming. I stopped in between appointments today because Im preparing a mezze platter for a party this weekend (stay tuned for photos). There are just four actual Mediterranean markets in Sacramento. Ive visited the rest, but today was my first time here. And Ill be back soon, because this one is hands down the best! Kostas helped me select handmade dolmas, yummy cheeses (taste tested of course), olives, and other goodies. Apparently, they are known for their roasted meats which are used to prepare gyro sandwiches to order, their cheesecakes, and of course their old world hospitality and charm.
Great place! Good food! Stop in for a gyro and a Greek beer ^_^
Was in the mood for some Greek food before classes & found this gem. The owner was friendly, the place was clean & simple but beautiful, with Greek music playing. I thoroughly enjoyed the lamb gyro & conversation with the owner. Ill definitely need to bring my husband next time.
Nice place for quality greek food. I love this place, excellent food & service. Ill return friends next time. It has a nice feel to it.
Delicious food and really friendly owner! Love this place! Cute little patio outside too where they sometimes have live music!
Nick is awesome very friendly food is spectacular freshly-made and taste like home. I would never go anywhere else, its just like eating my mothers 💓💓💓💓 cooking!!!!!!! ( VERY VERY AUTHENTIC!)
You need some different kind of lunch or dinner? Try this place. Everything we have tried is good. My favorite is the soup. A side of cheese and olives go a long way. Park next door because the parking in front will be full. They have live music some times.
Loved their chicken gyros. This place is friendly and the food tastes good. Love that they serve clean foods, organic. Without any synthetic additives . My family has visited this place many times and will tell others as well.Thank you Kostya!
Small menu but BIG flavor!! Had the pork because my wife had the lamb. Pork was very good but the lamb was superb!! Will definitely order it next time. Owner was very friemdly and helpful....great place super clean with both indoor and outdoor seating...will be back with friends next time
We had the lamb gyro which was made with in your area sourced lamb from Dixon, regarding 40 minutes from here. The finest part was the feta cheese which was light as well as cosy so we took a half extra pound home with us.
Amazing greek food and outstanding service from the owner. Very happy and in a good mood. Delicious menu with many options! Will recommend to anyone in the area.
Service was only outshined by the food. Lamb gyro is a must. Love this place.
Really great greek food and such a friendly customer service. If youve been craving good greek food this place will hit the spot!
Delicious. I had the lamb gyro hummus and baklava... I have never liked the taste of lamb, but his was seasoned so well it was amazing! Oooh I forgot his name. He must have been the owner.. Very friendly very nice man. This place is located right next to On the Y where Fulton/Munroe splits to head to Fair oaks Blvd. Amazimg place.
Excellent authentic Greek meal with friendly service. The cookies for dessert were outstanding. Service was very friendly.
Yes to this place. Cute, family spot and amazing fresh food. They have a nice outdoor patio l, too! Definitely coming again.
Authentic Greek food with a nice side area outside to eat.
Eating here was a very pleasant (and quality!) experience. Delicious food AND dessert, and the owner is extremely kind. I love the atmosphere!
Greek food and the scene at this spot is very good. Service is consistently good. The bill was reasonable.
