Really amazing, delicious sandwiches and drinks! I will be going back again to try more! It wasnt busy and was a nice relaxing, cozy experience. The grilled cheese sandwiches are so great. I definitely recommend the breakfast brisket sandwich. Had so much flavor and makes me want to go back for more! The drinks were so refreshing and flavorful as well.

Wow! I really enjoyed it here. A little hidden gem located in the Arden/Del Paso area. They are not lying about their grilled cheese. It’s the bomb! So scrumdiddlyumpsious! I had their “Green Goddess” iced tea and “Your Cheesy Honey” grilled sandwich.

Its not starbucks. They take their time in their craft. If you order a sandwich, be prepared to wait.The bread of the grilled cheese sandwiches are nice and buttery yet crispy. If you dont greasy cheesy goodness, its not for you.I got an iced Tokyo Tea and it was great and refreshing. Has a hint of lavender that didnt overpower the jasmine green tea. It blended and complimented it nicely.I got the bay area brisket and my wife got the hot as hell sandwich (its not actually spicy in our opinion). Both were delicious. The tomato soup was delicious and went well with the sandwich.

I came in there on the rainy Thursday. I found the place no problem! Great location! The place is my kind of decor, race theme with car parts, books, wall art and a crazy looking motorcycle in the front! Place is clean the staff was very helpful and very nice! This was such a nice find! Super friendly, cool atmosphere, and a really creative grilled cheese and coffee menu. We got the roadrunner sandwich with a Vietnamese nitro and americano. The sandwich was perfectly crisp, although it could probably have used an herb to brighten the flavor, and still everything was delicious. Would definitely come back!

Come for the coffee, stay for the cheese. I got an americano and a big, greasy, beautiful grilled cheese with orange blossom olive oil.They have vietnamese coffee, cuban coffee, lavender mochas, and all sorts of things.Service is super nice and friendly. Atmosphere is neat and the building is updated and looks modern.

So disappointed. They have a 20oz iced as their only size option with just two shots in it. I added double shots to both drinks, a mocha and the OD bee, to make it not taste like an adult milk beverage. It’s chalky tasting, and watery. It taste like a combination of french press coffee that sat overnight in the grounds mixed with the driest powder chocolate. I was also charged sales tax on my to go, iced coffees. Will never go here again.

Looking for an alternative from Downtown Sacramento scene and pastry for lunch (not necessarily a bad thing most days), I found Shift Coffee House. A combination of locals, service men and women, keyboard warriors, and father-daughter dates filled the coffee house to escape the midday heat.Oh, the grilled cheese menu is overwhelmingly awesome and the lemonade refreshers hit the spot any time of day. I cant wait to come back to be surrounded by vintage roadster memorabilia, friendly staff, and cheese melting on the flattop.

When it comes to Coffee its always hard to find the right coffee for me. Finally I have found a good place for coffee, only one coffee got impressed so far. White Chocolate Cherry Cocha was a really good coffee, one cup only because more then one it gets to overpowering and I had two! The sandwiches are ok, I personally wouldn’t come back for a sandwich but I will be back for the coffee. The place is a good place to chill and relax with friends or do to school work. The Patio is missing some Palm trees to make look better. The coffee shop has an old rusted look look like New Orleans style. Overall I was happy to be here.

Why is this little gem all the way over here? I want to pick it up and drop it somewhere in downtown Sacramento or in LA. It certainly deserves some more lovin. When I first looked it up on yelp, I thought it was somewhere in Natomas. It was only after I turned on my gps that I realized I messed up (oh well). Im glad I ended up here and got to experience their delicious latte and pastries. While they offer some great breakfast items, I was more impressed with their Vegan baked items. I had a cinnamon roll and absolutely loved it. Unless someone tells you these pastries are vegan, youd never know. It was a fantastic start to a Sunday morning.Im almost never in the area, but Ill make the extra effort in the future. I love nothing more that to support local businesses. It certainly is a great place for the neighborhood. Super spacious, authentic, hipster, and is just about everything I look for in a coffee shop.Lots of street parking.

Best tasting coffee Ive found so far after being in Sacramento for 2 months.Car racing themed shop.GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICHES is their specialty.I did have the Golden Gate GCS and it was fantastic. They are cooked to perfection so you must wait a bit. But it is TOTALLY worth every bite.Excellent customer service. Owner has been present every time I have visited.My daughter loved the Chai Latte and said it was one of the best she has had.Clean and enjoyable with power outlets and patio seating.

Still havent found one.Shift is a one of a kind shop and is such a good spot.I went thro everything in their menu, all of it was amazing!Coffee was just right, not too sweet yet tasted the coffee shots (Lattes).Food was on spot and could tell they didnt just slap it together. Each item had a path of creation to achieve their goal and they succeeded each time i went.Again, fantastic place. I hope they hire compatent individuals who keep the trend!

We love this place, fantastic sandwiches, and the drinks are amazing, i recommend the Tokyo Tea and the Garden Highway. Plus the staff is always friendly and on top of things. The young lady with the butterfly tattoos is sweetest person ever and is such a pleasure to interact with.

Today I enjoyed my first visit to Shift. WOW! Crunchy. Cheesy. Ooey. Gooey. Greasy. Buttery. Decadent Perfection! In. Every. Bite! This is easily my new favorite spot! I ate the Da Philly and to splurge also got the Sweet Cheesus (😄 love the name!) and they were worth every penny! Im going to have to try the whole menu! 😄I make fancy grilled cheese at home all the time but OMG they take it to another level! The brisket was soft, tender, smokey combined with the veggies and cheese that enfolded everything in its loving embrace between two perfectly buttery golden brown pieces of sourdough such gloriously decadent heaven! And I havent even gotten to dessert! The Sweet Cheesus is everything above with sweet added in and even more decadent! What a glorious food experience! They are grilled cheese masters, magicians and artisans worthy of their reputation!If youre in a rush and need your food to be ready in under 5 minutes go somewhere else. This is slow food, a place where everything is carefully handcrafted with care and Love and such Perfection cannot be rushed! I am looking forward to being able to enjoy dining in again and enjoy the lovely ambiance, a place to luxuriate on a lazy Sunday with nothing to do and nowhere to go...a place to savor and mindfully enjoy every magnificent bite of my food!

Also try the tomato soup, it’s to die for.I spoke with the owner and her daughter, both super nice people, while I waited for my food. I was really impressed with the little space, the decor and ambiance, and when I bit into my sandwich I knew I’d be back!Really great place, definitely check it out!

I found this place during our stay at The Greens Hotel. Its such a hidden gem and well worth dropping in. The decor is so rustic and inviting. The motorcycle furnishings and auto theme gives it a nice touch as well.Dolly was a joy and provided excellent customer service. She really knows her stuff and was great at making suggestions and answering our questions.In the morning time, my husband and I had coffee: the Mexican Mocha and the Toasted Coconut Almond Mocha...both very tasty although I enjoyed the Toasted Mocha best.We returned later in the evening and enjoyed the best adult grilled cheese weve ever tasted. My husband and I both had variations of the Garden Highway, both with no eggs and on wheat bread. He opted to add Smoked Cheddar and spinach and I added garlic jack and spinach to my sandwich. The Long Beach Lemonade is a genius mixture of goody goodness.We cant wait to return!

Me and my friend ordered a Capitol Sunrise grilled cheese sandwich. It had Scrambled eggs, bacon, spinach, pepper jack cheese on soursough bread. I think there was another cheese on it but I forget. Anywhoo, this was the best grilled cheese sandwich Ive had in my entire life so far! The bread was so crispy on the outside which is important to me because Im a slow eater and my sandwich did not get soggy at all. They have a wonderful tomato soup as well. The staff and the owner are really nice too. Bravo!

If youve got the time I suggest this place, its very good. Be prepared to wait upwards of 30 minutes for your order to be completed. The drinks are tasty and intriguing. The sandwiches are exceptional. I tried the Smores Please and was very impressed with how the cheese melded with the sweetness of the Chocolate. Thier cheese seems to be of very good quality.

Stopped by this afternoon and got the Hot as Hell to go. I was going to get the Italian, but the owner (super nice) recommended this alternative because I like spicy. Seriously one of the best sandwiches Ive had in a long time.

Great atmosphere. Excellent product. Espresso is traditional, deep, cocoa, smoke flavor. Very smooth. Highly recommend. Food offerings all looked very fresh. Interesting flavors included on the espresso specialty menu.

Ive been thinking about my breakfast sandwich all day. It was honestly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had the pleasure of eating. The white mocha was good, drip coffee was good as well, but OMG those sandwiches.

Ive been to other places where the coffee was good but the customer service was horrible. Ive been back since and have taken several friends too. What can I say I love shift coffee. The grill cheese is literally the best and the owner is amazing. My go to place. The first coffee place I visited when I moved to Sacramento.

Stayed at “The Greens Hotel” attached to the building while visiting the area. Great atmosphere with comfortable seating. Coffee was really good and the customer service was even better. EASY 5 STARS.

We came here for coffee and grilled cheese this morning based on all the great reviews, and were not disappointed. I had a lavender latte and The M.O.S.T. grilled cheese - both were delicious. My husband had a Laguna Seca mocha and the Hot as Hell grilled cheese. He really enjoyed both, but as a lover of super hot stuff he said the sandwich wasn’t that hot - but it was still yummy.

I freaking love this coffee shop! The owner is super nice and the grilled cheese sandwiches make for a fantastic breakfast or lunch. Ill take any excuse to stop by!

Great atmosphere and lots of places to sit, indoor and outdoor. Some of the art work might not be suitable for kids. There was piano outside in the covered area. The poor thing needed some TLC so I tickled its keys for a bit. Then I played it. Outside, some local north-sac-riains had a honk battle that lasted for up to 5 mins. It was quite riveting to see Sac in its more natural unbridled state.

Not bad good grilled cheese sandwich but I wont go again on a Monday because they close at 2pm and it felt a bit rushed, nice but rushedI returned on May 13th, placed an order online and the customer is supposed to call when they arrive. Called at least 3 times and got theathe equivalent of abusy signal! This is 2020, a busy signal?? Really? Step up your curbside game at lunch for those of us at work just trying to get a quick bite to eat and get back to work. But I see from other reviews that this is not the place for a quick bite to eat. Good food with a side of bad customer service. The cook has been rude on both of my visits.Probably will not be returning because plenty other options inbin the area with much better customer service for a lot less money

I really wanted to like this place. I live around the corner from a Starbucks. I go out of my way to give small business like yours money. Honesty coffee is pretty good but the service i received was just apathetic unhelpful and overall kinda unfriendly. Maybe they just didnt like me lol. Other people seem to enjoy it. The grilled cheese do looks amazing. But i probably wont be back.

This place was the nearest locally owned coffee shop. The service was friendly and welcoming especially with children. We had fresh doughnuts and for us parents, the toasted coconut almond mocha!!! Just pure perfection mildly sweet with Califia almond milk. Plus the owners throw their own special touch to their lattes.

When I entered this new, cool vibe, artistically decorated coffee spot I smelled....grill cheese! YES, unexpected, until you chat with the owner and find out this is a franchise that is all about speciality cheeses. So their grilled cheese is amazing. Its a comfortable coffee house to relax and enjoy a coffee drink, expertly made, along with pastries and treat.

Really cool place. The wife and I routinely think: if this place was located in Midtown, itd be swamped with hipsters. As-is, were happy its not and is our go-to coffee shop near our place.Its got very cool motorcycle decor and always plays Top Gear / Grand Tour on their tv. Nice lounge chairs and a small, secluded garden sitting area thats reminiscent of Italy or the like. Sandwiches are serious albeit a bit spendy for a fancy grilled cheese. Pastries are also spendy. The coffee is on par for a hip coffee joint (so also a bit spendy). Worth a visit if youre nearby.Only reason it doesnt get 5 stars is because: 1) they have something akin to a bankers schedule which can be frustrating during the holidays 2) they dont give discounts for bringing your own coffee cup (I think thats industry standard). 3) customer service is kinda spotty and seems to depend on how much help they have that day.see ya there!

Her lack of customer service was offputting so I didnt purchase anything. And left. She became passive aggressive and said okay thanks for coming in. Lol I would not support this store. Its a coffee shop for hipsters that doesnt welcome the community it is in. I hope they look at all of their reviews not just the good ones. I hope she fixes her attitude and mindset quickly.
