I have a 1987 Chevrolet El Camino that came from Oregon and though it was running, it wasn’t up to California’s standards, unfortunately. My feelings on that aside, this was the —ONLY— place that would see my car. I suspect this to be because of its year, a lot of places don’t like dealing with OBD1 computers and older SMOG technology, but these guys pulled it off. I am very thankful to them and their crew, for making my dream car a possibility in this asinine State.

Modern Classic ALWAYS gets the job done. They have consistently smog passed ALL my vehicles. Even if repair is needed. They offer fair labor prices and fully explain the issue. I recently had a BMW 328I that would not pass a smog station around the corner (SpeedDee) and got the run around too. So I took it to MCA and they smogged and passed it in under 30 minutes. Good service A+++++++

These guys were so helpful I couldn’t have dreamed of better service. We took our 1997 Leisure Travel Van - a Dodge 1 ton van conversion essentially, to Lennys shop based on a recommend from RV Dr. George. It needed a few major repairs, but we were planning a trip to CO at the end of the month, and wanted everything tip top. They did a very thorough job, needing a little over 3 weeks, but we left on our trip feeling very confident in the work they had done. The front end handling on the van was so improved, we were so happy we finally found a shop with the skills and desire to do great work on our older rig. So many places nowadays wont work on rigs older than pick a capricious number year. We love our van, its in great shape and plan on keeping it for 2 more decades. Now we know where to take it for all mechanical repairs. Thanks Modern Classic Auto!!!

Jay was super friendly and helpful! I made my appointment for smog in the morning and came in during my lunch break. He greeted me with a smile and go me in and out within 20 minutes. The lobby was super clean and very nicely decorated, nothing like you would expect from an auto shop. I would definitely recommend anyone to come here for your smog and smog repair needs.

Shoddy service and shady practices. Its a miracle the BBB hasnt shut down this mickey mouse operation. Youre better off doing the repair or restoration yourself. Do yourself a huge favor and AVOID these crooks.

Very nice people here. Love the friendly atmosphere. Very hectic trying to manage a smog before the end of the day on a short notice. They made it happen. The inspector Mario was friendly and very quick. He even made us feel as if this was the most important snog hed done today. A++++--

Finally found a place to do a Brake & Lamp Inspection for my motorcycle, it was quick and well priced. Very friendly customer service, Shannon and the boss (forgot his name) were very friendly and even stayed a little late to help me out, would highly recommend!

Horrible service, and not very knowledgeable of classics outside of their field (which is very small btw). Take your trust and cash elsewhere (or better yet, to your OWN garage)!

Only place I could find that would do a brake and light inspection, that DMV required, to register my 36 rv. Also got a lube and oil change. They did everything while I waited and at a fair price. The shop is clean and the staff were honest, professional and friendly. Highly recommend.

Modern Classic Automotive is so much more! My 40 foot class A motorhome (they work on RVs!) failed a smog test and I needed to find a smog and repair location for an RV. I used the web for recommendations and was very impressed by Jay and his crew and their reviews!. These guys are AWESOME! They gave me an estimate, diagnosed my problem, and fixed my RV under that estimate to the highest professional and ethical standards. Jay told me about a couple of things that I might not be aware about (like an exhaust leak into the cabin!) and then fixed that as part of the service. They even fixed a minor automatic step problem that would have cost me $100 to have diagnosed. Just part of their service. Point of this review: Honest professional repairs where they will not take advantage of you in your hour of need. What is that worth? Repeat business, and kudos from an unsolicited customer. Thanks Jay!

Ive had many cars, and even motorhomes repaired here over the years. Lenny and Jay can troubleshoot just about any automotive problem. I originally discovered this shop nearly seven years ago when I had a car that would no pass SMOG. They repaired the problem and got my old VW van back on the road. Honest, family-run operation that has been around for over 30 years.

Lenny will take care of you. Best part about their business, they dont find things to fix unless you ask. No surprses, just honest work. You wont find Lenn using scare tactics to talk you into work that is not needed. Very flexible, long time family business, nearing 30 years.
