Ive been taking my cars here for years. Craig and Neil are great - friendly, helpful, expert. They consistently advise and execute what is best for me, my car, and my budget. I never feel like they put their business or revenue above what is right and what is needed. Heads up: sometimes its a decent wait between when you call and when you can get an appointment. Which is just a testament to their popularity and loyal customer base.
They are honest and friendly. They are very helpful 🙂 I recommend their service to anyone that appreciates quality, honesty, great value and attentive customer service.
Honest, quality service, fair pricing, clean shop, excellent experienced mechanics.. Craig (owner) explains all the details of what needs to be done. Could not ask for more.
JSC II .. quality service .. always support local business
Always a great place to take your car. The service is outstanding
Weve been coming here for years. We always get great service and they are ALL extremely knowledgeable mechanics. Just today my car started smoking under the hood and since I was close, I stopped in. Even though they are so very busy all the time, one of the mechanics came out, found a hose loose (probably bumped 2 days ago by the guy at Shell replacing the battery), topped off my fluid, and even replaced my radiator cap that he noticed had a little piece missing. He took his time, looking carefully to be sure that was it before sending me on my way with no charge. This shop has been a real blessing to have in the neighborhood. Their prices are good, skills are top notch, and they are very nice as well. The ONLY issue is you may have to wait for an appointment. But thats only because theyre that good.
Japanese Auto Service has taken care of my Toyota Tacoma for more about 10 years and I have never been disappointed. They are precise, polite and very professional. You cant go wrong with these guys, they are pros.
Craig and his crew are very competent.Diagnosed and solved all issues.
Craig is very knowledgeable, experienced, helpful, and fair. Our family trusts him and his staff.
Very professional awesome guys great value Craig took care of me best mechanic I’ve found in CA
Excellent Service!! Trustworthy!!
All the outstanding reviews I read were correct! The owner, Craig, is knowledgeable and very patient, answering all my questions and explaining in understandable detail. The cost for maintaining my car is very reasonable compared to other auto shops I called. As the name implies, this shop specializes in Japanese cars including Subarus! I will definitely return for all my car maintenance or repair needs.
Japanese Service Center ll is top notch. I have always received good service, respect and quality workmanship.I recommend Japanese Service Center ll for all of your car repair needs.Best regards.Patricia N.
I didnt actually get any repair services done here.I called there with some questions about my subarus transmission, unfortunately they dont provide the service that I was looking for but they were able to redirect me to a few other places that might be able to help me. They were very professional and honest. I will definitely be using them for some of their services that they do offer.
Great service
Craig and his team are super honest and will get the job done right. The first time I visited, I brought my daughter’s Honda to have the wheel bearings replaced because of a weird rhythmic noise when she was driving. They spent a couple hours looking the car over and told me the bearings were fine and I just needed new tires. No charge! I replaced the tires and sure enough no more noise. I have been bringing all my cars to this shop since. My cars have always been ready on time as promised and no matter how busy the place gets, the team is friendly and courteous. There is a reason the shop is always busy - these guys are the best!
I’ve been coming to this shop for years, thirteen to be exact, I trust Craig, the owner as if he were my own brother. He has always given me honest assessments/diagnoses of my cars, he’s even talked me out of doing unnecessary repairs.Howard and Gordon, his mechanics are super experienced and highly qualified; I’m always happy with the results. The pricing is also very fair, a lot less than the dealerships. I’ve recommend this shop to all my family and friends.
Only shop I trust in Sacramento.Excellent customer service and the extra work they do Is impeccable.
The best automotive services in Sacramento! Ive been going here since 1986.
Good service, reasonable prices, honest.
Great service and always affordable!
Took my car in for what I thought was a strut problem, and it turned out to be an alignment issue, which they no longer do.They were honest, and professional and provided good information to relay to the dealer regarding the repair. Would definitely take my car back for future service.
This is my go to place anytime my engine light goes on (the yellow engine light on the board). The service is excellent and honest, people who run this place is super awesome. You can trust this place, I highly recommend it.
Had the timing belt, water pump. belts and hose replaced on my Toyota truck. Great service, friendly and professional. I am new to Sacramento and was concerned about finding a mechanic here, glad I found them!
Craig is the absolute best. I have trusted him, and hes never steered me wrong for almost 25 years. Ive made referrals without hesitation and he and his team always come through. He is so great, Ive purchased Japanese cars so he is my mechanic. The only downside, his shop is in high demand and you have to make sure to schedule appointments as he is very busy.
Legendary service! A+++++
OMG, this place is a Toyotas BEST FRIEND! Ive an older Rav4 and it runs decently, but this shop made it run like a dream. They are Zen with vehicles and their diagnostics and mechanics...top notch👍Theyve fixed serious issues my cars had for years, left ignored by other shops. They are friendly, respectful, professional and experienced...with proven results. They deserve 10 stars and are first class🏆One visit, and you will never go anywhere else.MB
I love this shop. They are always friendly and polite, even when very busy. My Toyota is 18 years old and they keep it running like brand new. Today I stopped in unannounced to get a brake light bulb replaced. It was done in less than 10 minutes for the cost of a bulb. That alone earns my loyalty.
My family has used this mechanic to fix our Toyotas for as long as Ive been alive. Craig has seen to keeping 5 of my cars going for longer than they should have, and never once has he charged me an unfair price. Only trick is you probably need an appointment as theyre often busy.
I’ve been coming to these guys for close to 2 years now and wont go anywhere else. These guys are legit and never try to get over on me. I always do extra research on the problems with my car and compare what they say as well and it always adds up. Craig has excellent customer service and I always leave knowing whats wrong with my car and what needs to be fixed. Never had any problems after having parts fixed.
It is hard to find a good honest mechanic these days. But this place.... THANK YOU!!
Honest and kind mechanics. I brought both my Toyota and Honda cars and am very satisfied with the cost and workmanship.
Japanese Service Center is the go-to repair shop when you need an honest mechanic who knows Japanese autos inside and out. They wont try to make an extra buck by talking you into unnecessary services (as many shops will, especially if you are a woman), and will charge you a fair price for their work.
They do good work, reasonable price, and they keep in touch with you and let you know if they notice something that may need work soon or wearing some and to just beware of it, their also a block away from my house!
I decided to try this place out for car maintenance based on good reviews here and on other review sites and Im glad I did. They truly feel like your neighborhood mechanic who are honest and look out for you. I never felt like I was being ripped off or upsold on things. I found their prices to be very reasonable as well. The only issues to note are that they are a pretty small and old school place so they have no website to speak of (that I know of) so you need to call to schedule appointments and they only have one person to act as a receptionist. So if you get there when theyre busy, expect to wait a bit while they answer the phone in the middle of helping people. Also, they seem to only allow you to drop off your vehicle for the whole day or come in at a specific time in the morning for service if you want to wait at the location for them to finish their work on your car.Despite these shortcomings though I feel they deserve 5 stars for being honest and affordable because an auto shop with those qualities can be hard to find.
It wasnt that I had a bad service but more like it could have been handled better. It felt like the owner Craig didnt quite want to help me due to my vehicle(it runs great by the way but you never know) being an older model with the less desirable pre-OBD2 or OBD1 system which some modern day mechanics or auto shops dislikes working with. I simply ask if they perform services such as a leak-down test or compression test. Instead if getting an answer I got asked with a question instead regarding what was wrong with my car. I said that I failed the smog emissions test and I suspected it was my engine. Possible burnt exhaust valves? I simply wanted to know if my engine is in good shape regardless of whether the problem(if any) is smog related or not. If there was any leaks, parts in the engine bay or engine that may need attention that I wasnt aware of than I would like for them to fix it. He asked for the mileage on my car and its 180k. He just shrugged his shoulders as if to tell me that was the root cause and issue. Sorry but the mileage of a car doesnt determine that its failed smog. Its the mechanical aspect or condition of the engine. I was advised to take my car to another shop that can both diagnose and fix the smog related issue because their shop dont deal with anything smog related. Really? A leak, unproper running engine or malfunctioning engine internals can cause any car new or old to fail smog no matter how big or small the issue is. His reasons were to save me time or money and maybe his shop the hassles. While I do thank him for his advice I wasnt looking for a quick fix or the absolute solution to the problem. Just doing a process of elimination. I took my car to them because of the great reviews Ive read, their specialty in fixing japanese automobiles and plus my friends recommended this shop to me. So I was a little let down but two of the mechanics working there spotted me as I was about to leave. Both were very sincere and offer to take a quick look at my vehicle. I got their second opinions in regards to what may or may not be wrong with my car and how I may fix it. Thats why I gave it three stars instead of two and because of them I may still come back to have my car serviced there for other things non-smog related. Thanks Gordon and Lee and keep up the great work! I think that was their names.
Gone there 3 times. Very honest, kept me informed, very fair pricing.
Smart and honest. Reliable advise and service.
