They got me in on a Sunday on short notice and while they were short staffed. Counter/Salesperson was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Performed service as requested and by the time that was promised. Will definitely return to VIP-Saco and recommend to everyone!

I had a very poor experience with VIP, I had an inspection done there and was advised that I needed new tires. I asked for the price of the tires and was told the total cost with alignment etc. The rep came out and told me that the new tires and service would cost $1000. If I was an older customer who didn’t know the real cost of most tires, I probably would have gone with that cost. But I called around and found out that the cost of tires at most other places was much, much lower by several hundred dollars My complaint is that the rep did not advise tire cost options with me until I insisted. After this time I received very vague information on how long the tires would last that I was interested in. I heard that the tires were good anywhere from 20 months to 72 months. Because I was going away and needed an inspection and tires immediately, I got the tires there. Otherwise I would have gone elsewhere, because I was not happy with the experience. In addition I recently needed a new compressor, I called around to get quotes and was told the cost would be $1250 not including tax at your establishment. I was told that it was expensive because the part was hard to get at and would take several hours to fix. In calling around I got a price of $650 including tax. The mechanic showed me that the part was not at all hard to get to and was pretty standard. I just had to say that as a consumer I am sick of being ripped off and that I really have little faith or trust in your establishment at this time.

The store in Saco is great. The staff on the phone are very knowledgeable and thorough. I had a brake light warning on prior to state inspection, they explained the process and got the vehicle in for inspection. They explained about a faulty sensor, and had me on my way. Excellent service

While searching for a place closer to home to service my car, I stumbled into VIP in Saco and could not have been more pleased with my experience. Maggie, the store manager, was friendly and inviting, and answered all of my questions with patience and expertise. The technician, Sebastian, was thorough and personable, and put my mind at ease by explaining what my car needed in easy to understand terms. Overall, I was extremely impressed by the knowledge and friendly demeanor of the staff. As a woman, I’ve grown tired of stressing over the possibility of being taken advantage of financially by a mechanic. My experience at VIP reassured me that this will not happen here. I will absolutely be going to VIP for all of my mechanical needs.

Staff is very personable and supportive. Most recently, Karen and Benjamin were an enormous help with what I thought were brake related issues, turned out to be transmission related. They were upfront what services they were capable and not capable of providing, and leading in the right direction for my next steps. That was appreciated by me more than you know! Everyone at VIP was awesome! I arrived on a Saturday with a minor catastrophe that left me unable to drive. Fortunately, Maggie, Karen, and Greg helped me get back on the road THAT DAY! Not only were they able to help me find obscure parts, but they also helped me out with a mandatory follow-up. This was the first time I have ever heard of VIP, but if I end up in the northeast again with vehicle issues, I know where to go!

I was very pleased with all of the staff over there. I had to get two new tires and back brakes done, and inspection. The brakes were a surprise to me so I wasn’t expecting the cost. They were very kind and found a way to make it feasible for me and not break my bank completely! They also showed me what needed to be done. Im made an appointment for an inspection days in advance they took over 2 hours inspecting the car. When I called to find out why they told me I needed New brakes, new roter... $1,200 worth of work. I have a very new car with low miles and was very suspicious. I took my car to the dealer after and they informed me my brakes were 100% fine it was an outright scam. BEWARE!

Maggie and crew were wonderful. My battery indicator light came on at 5pm on a Saturday. I was near VIP in Saco and stopped to see if they could test my battery/electrical system. I was expecting to have to get a tow home. They were able to get me in last minute on a Saturday and replace my alternator. Thank you so much for everything you did.

Maggie and Karen gave me the best customers service ever. I walked in with need tires to be replaced and they work with me on what that would look like and prices and Karen helped me find the right tire. They had patients with me even after needing more work done to my car and I called back to see if it really had to be done. Everything was explained to be and I could not have asked for such a great experience at a shop. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of like I have at other places I have gone to. My Mom recently passed away and I inherited her car. It came from another state and it was a make and model I wasnt familiar with. The staff was very nice, even helping me with some of the workings of the car. In fact, the Assitant Manager Maggie had the same make and model and she assured me it was a quality car. The guys at the VIP in South Portland are AWESOME! I had to swing in after I got a low oil pressure light the day after an oil change at another location. Do not ever pre-pay for anything here.Update I emailed the person who responded to this post over a week ago and received no response.I prepaid almost $1,800 dollars for car repairs. The repairs were not completed and during the process of not repairing my car the technician deprogrammed my key leaving my car unable to start. They also left simple electrical connections disconnected.I allowed VIP an extra day to complete the work I paid for, and they still were not able to do the work. I requested a refund, it was refused. I have now spent hours filing a complaint with the office of the attorney General, the state department that oversees inspections, and another reputable inspection station. Soooooo much lost time and money.

VIP Auto in Saco is amazing! I have never had any trouble with scheduling an appointment or understanding what was happening with my car. The mechanics work fast and do everything to such a high quality, I know I will not have to worry about being in the shop again for a while, no matter if its for an oil change or maintenance issue. I have trusted VIP Saco to service my 2009 Honda CRV for the past 12 years and they have kept it running great up to my current 320K miles! Easy to get in for an appointment and they are ready to answer questions and trouble shoot any issue.

Brought my car in for an inspection beginning of February. After 45 minutes was told that my car failed because one of my tires was too worn down and it was suggested that my front brakes and rotors be replaced and my other front tire. Quoted $500 for the brakes and rotors and $340 for tires plus $89 for an alignment. I thought the price seemed high so I asked a few mechanic friends and was told the price was unreasonable. On 2/19 I brought my vehicle back to replace the two tires and get it inspected again to pass. After an hour and a half I go to check out and I’m given $810 as a total and told that In order to pass my inspection I have to get my brakes and rotors done even though originally I was told it’s just that one tire. I was expecting maybe $330 total according to them their system had an error and they replaced 4 tires instead of two so they tried to get me to “just keep the 4” and pay for it to which I said absolutely not. So they took two tires off and put the two best of my old tires back on however they put the old tires on the front and left the new ones on the back. My car is FWD so that was a** backwards and I was told the charge was $450+ but that they took $50 off for my troubles. Brought my car to a mechanic I’m familiar with today and after looking at my brakes and rotors was told they were not even close to needed replacing, that my car is in inspection passing condition as is and after looking at my bill for the new tires there is at least $50 worth of unexplained charges and that their hourly service rate is unreasonably high for a chain garage. There is also a $40 shop fee that is unexplained as well. Basically if you’re a woman and especially a woman with children don’t go here because they will try to screw your over from all angles. Only reason this is getting one star is because I can’t post it without giving it at least one. I will never give them business again and will be sure to let everyone I know to beware of their scams and save their money and time for a more respectful and reputable garage

I have had several services performed on multiple cars at VIP Saco. They always explain service work and let me decide how to proceed with no pressure. Service work is excellent and done on time.

The team at VIP was extremely helpful and even stayed open late when my car battery died. They were able to change the battery for me immediately and were wonderful throughout the process. I could not be happier that my car battery chose to die near this store!

I am awaiting the actual return of my car but I have, so far, been very pleased with the service Ive received. I walked in and asked for a new back wiper blade and a quote for new tires. I immediately received cheerful, quick, polite service by staff who knew what they were doing. I got my wiper blade in my hand and on my car as well as a reasonable quote for all weather tires (including service fees) in less than 10 minutes - I should mention the store was empty due to snow so I did not have to wait in line. I exited and immediately drifted into a snowbank so I figured I should head right back and get those tires I got quoted. I did, and theyre also doing an oil change and checking my alignment (Ive had some minor issues with my alignment for a while - I didnt say anything about having them check it but they brought it up after they saw the condition of my tires). So to summarize: I have received cheerful, expert service at industry standard prices here.Disclaimer: I am writing this review to get a free oil change. If I was not pleased with my service, however, I would say so.

These guys have been Lousy in the Past but they have a great gal running the auto service counter and she is handling it like a boss and getting it done right....and she didnt try to rob me for service work!!!!

They took a long time when I had an appointment. Sign said free inspection, last week but they had no appointments in the a.m. Should have been free since I went in last week. Lied about my oil change being overdue. Makes you wonder what else they lied about.

My children and I were traveling back to MA from ME when my car suddenly started making a loud scraping noise. I called this place, explained my issue and despite being busy, they said to come right in. They assessed the car and we were in need of rear brakes. The drivers side was bad and needed a rotor. Unfortunately they did not have the ones I needed. All of the employees there were wonderful, especially Maggie. She located the supplies needed in a neighboring town, had my car fixed in no time at all and at a reasonable price. It was a Sunday evening and they stayed open to help to boot. I cant be more thankful for the top notch service to ensure that we got home safely.

I enjoyed my first experience with VIP. The young lady kept me very informed of what was going on. It was a timely experience. I had just moved and used this location (and first time VIP) due to its convenient location. I will continue to use this location due to my positive experience.

I brought my car here for an inspection and an alignment. I normally NEVER bring my vehicle to VIP, since last time I got a simple oil change, they “typed in the wrong code” and put the amount of oil that a Jeep Grand Cherokee would need, into my tiny Hyundai Accent. I’ll never forget waiting for TWO HOURS for an oil change and looking through the window into the shop to see FOUR MEN standing around my car, literally scratching their heads....but anyways, I digress! (That was the one in Scarborough, by the plant nursery) I left my car at the VIP in Saco for three hours. When I came back, they hadn’t aligned my tired, and they failed my inspection. Funny, because I had just done almost $700 worth of work to bring it up to inspection standards. They told me I had ANOTHER $600 worth of work to do. They didn’t even do my alignment, because they said I had this “work to do.” I was so frustrated because I needed these things done for more than a month and don’t have all this extra time (OR FUNDS) to keep bringing my car to auto shops. I ended up taking my car BACK to my normal place AND had someone else look at all the “work” VIP said I needed for an inspection, and both places said that NONE of the repairs were dire OR necessary for inspection. One of the repairs (the most expensive repair, although there were several) was the engine mount/torque rod; the guy shook my entire engine around and created this creaking sound I had never heard before and claimed that it needed to be replaced and that I MUST hear this creaking over every bump and turn. I don’t. My normal mechanic literally said it was a bolt that needed tightening, he tightened it. MAGICALLY nothing moved, wiggled or creaked after that, no matter how much my mechanic shook my engine! VIP also showed me my rotors were a little rusty, but HELLO it’s winter in Maine! Tires and brakes work just fine! Rotors will rust with salty roads! I’m not replacing something that doesn’t need replacing to turn around and have it rerust next winter! Foolishness! It’s so clear you people are just here to rip off poor unsuspecting people who don’t have normal mechanics to take their cars to! I now know that I can’t take my car to you for SEVERAL simple tasks! Not an oil change, not an inspection, couldn’t even align my tires! I have dealt with several stores from this chain and every one of them has been more frustrating than the last. They did this to my husband as well! Told him the straps holding his gas tank in place were completely rusted through and his gas tank could just drop off at any moment and that was also a bald face lie. STOP RIPPING PEOPLE OFF.

I called last minute to get my car in urgently for repair. Was not starting - they got me in promptly- fixed repairs and had great communication of explaining what was wrong and what to do in the future. Girl at front desk( I forget her name was very professional and polite)I go here for all repairs and maintenance and will comfortably continue to do so in the future

I went there 02/27/19 to get my alternator fixed. Yesterday morning my car broke down and I was on the side of the road for hours waiting for triple a. Turns out my alternator went out, again. I had my car towed to my dealership. They checked it, said it was my alternator. I asked the guy if it was normal to have to replace a alternator in two years. He said its not. I told him I recently had it replaced. I ended up paying and going to my car. Next thing I know the mechanic came out and asked me about previously getting a new alternator. Told me that the one that was in my car was very oily and old and there is no way that its a new alternator because my car is not leaking oil at all. He seemed very surprised that I had to get two alternators in two years. I wont be back.

This place is always really great!! The customer service is never a question coming here! Whenever any little thing goes wrong I’m usually bringing it to VIP would definitely recommend these guys to anyone looking to get affordable and fast work done !

Historically, I have gone to Sears Automotive for my annual state inspection. With Sears now closed I ended up at VIP. They were super friendly and very timely with my state inspection. On top of that the mechanic that inspected my car was someone who used to help me out at Sears. VIP will now be my go to place. Thanks for the great service!

The V I P Saco, supplied great customer service along with technical support for the truck. The initial appointment set up over on line chat. I was able to get a day and time that worked. The drop off was very easy with Jon the Service Advisor, easy social distancing and clarity provided on when vehicle would be done. I received a call roughly 2 hours later, service complete. I had a great experience at Saco VIP. I had a reservation at another establishment and when I arrived they said they didn’t have time for me.I immediately called VIP in Saco, talked to a gentleman named Johnathan and he said we will squeeze you in, come on over. I told him what I needed, tires, sticker, and he said no problem. Recommended a few different tire options and explained the difference. I will recommend this VIP to everyone. I was impressed with the number of women running the shop - more than men. Neat to see. Secondly, as I waited, I heard one of the regular customers tell another guy that hed told one of the mechanics not to retire until he passes away or moves, as she takes great care of his truck. Jessica was super user-friendly, explained the brake wear, the service she rendered, and even thanked me for my service in the military. When she asked me if Id be interested in filling out an experience survey, of course my answer was yes. This is the third VIP Ive been to for service since coming to Maine and everyone provides exceptional, not just good, but exceptional service.

Usually I go to town fair tire. I was in a pinch today and was getting ready to travel and noticed my back tire was ready to go.
