I really appreciate mickey shorr here in royal oak they take care of my situations all the time. I can go to any other location and never have my situation taken care of until I come visit the royal oak location. I have not had one problem with this location and I will DEFINITELY ALWAYS come to royal oak no matter the distance, and no I do not live close by, but its worth my travel. Thank you mickey shorr for all that each of you do.

What a shame man. I’ve taken 4 cars more to this Mickey Shorr. The first 3 I’ve never had an issue with them and they even went above and beyond to help me. I don’t know if they have different employees now or not, but this time was awful and I will never be returning. They looked up my stereo specs and failed to tell me (or possibly just missed it) my vehicle has a factory amp for the speakers. Whatever that’s not a big deal. What is a big deal is that if they missed it while looking it up, they didn’t stop the job and call me before continuing when they eventually noticed it. The other issue is the fact that they failed to call me and tell me the speakers they said would fit actually didn’t fit so they just went ahead and installed smaller speakers without contacting me (I am apparently getting a refund for the difference.) So not only do I not have the correct size speakers, the speakers that are installed sound like absolute garbage because there’s no amp powering them, they just completely bypassed the amp apparently. I will not be returning with any further business.

Was afraid that Id have to come back at another time as diagnostic guy wasnt there yet and I had to be to work in a few hours. Diagnostic guy arrived after 10 minutes of waiting and I was in and out in about an hour. Went for diagnostic for a car alarm they put in yeeeaaarrrrrs ago that stopped working and the wires fell from beneath the steering column. Wire were set back in place and alarm is working like new! Great customer service, highly satisfied.

It didnt go well, my first visit. I wanted to upgrade my factory radio for an aftermarket Kenwood. The new kenwood cost $400 which is reasonable, however total charges for installation and harnesses and labor was more than $900. Plus I would have to leave my car which would require a ride service for another $50.

Terrible salesperson.. I had equipment to transfer into me new vehicle and was told 3-4 weeks to install because they where to busy with there on store jobs. And there wasn’t any work being done at all. Told me if I brought some new stuff then I could be moved up smh. I’ll never go back after having multiple cars done there for sounds

I have to say Dennis is a great person and if you want customer service he is the guy to see. Will work with you and down to earth. Soooo terrible. Brought my radio in to be fixed and they said they knew what was wrong and I trusted them to fix it and spent money on the things they convinced me I needed. I got my car back and they said they were wrong about what they thought was the issue but still went ahead with installing a whole new radio when it was not necessary. I brought the car back because they said they would fix it but just continued to make it worse. I would not send my worst enemy here to get their car fixed. Embarrassing that anyone would ever give this place 5 stars probably employee posing as a customer. If you know what’s good for you you would not trust these people with your car.

I went to the Royal Oak location after the Bose system started malfunctioning in my Escalade, had them install an all new system and a remote starter. I was impressed with the knowledgeable staff, and my sales guy, Sean, was able to show me the system to fit my needs and budget, at a fair price. I was impressed at the professional installation after looking under the dash, as I used to do stereos years ago myself. Im going to bring my wifes car to be hooked up soon!

I went here for a head unit upgrade. I had an aftermarket unit already, but wanted something newer. The sales person worked me out a decent deal and said the install would be easy as they could reuse all the wiring for my amps and steering wheel controls, all of which I specifically stated the importance of retaining. Sure enough a couple hours later I had my car and everything worked well. Awesome! 5 Stars!But wait...I got half way home and realized the steering wheel controls, which I had an aftermarket adapter for, werent functioning. I took it back and it was at this point they informed me my adapter was not compatible with the new deck. Im a pretty understanding guy. Theres no way they couldve known this when I dropped it off, but simply not telling me or asking if I wanted a new one was frustrating and super uncool.They apologized and worked me out a great deal on a new adapter. Another hour later it was in and working. I ended up spending a little more than I wanted and the lack of communication on whats a pretty important thing to communicate, when I specifically had identified the importance of it was frustrating.Overall it was an okay experience. The shop is not very nice and their selection is limited, the prices were fair, staff is knowledgeable, and the work looks good so far. I probably wont be back, but I do appreciate them working with me to fix the issue.

So pissed. After leaving car with them to install the higher quality of the three starters they have - go to use it this morning and it shuts off after 12 minutes which according to them, was what the cheapest model did. Now have to try and get back in after work somehow and wait God knows how long for them to fix.Also- my car smelled like cigarettes after too.Furious.

I went to Mickey Shorr last week and had a remote start put in my 2016 Ford Fusion. I already had a factory remote start on my car but the range was horrible and it only ran for roughly 10 minutes. I talked with the sales staff and they were very knowledgeable and helpful. Alex the store manager took care of me on the price and gave me a great deal plus the install only took 2.5 hours. Overall it was a great experience and I definitely will be coming back for anything else that I need.

Run from this place! Spent 1200 with them and was charged extra to supposedly bypass factory amp. Used radio once and smoke poured from dash . Found factory amp still in place. Ordered a used factory amp thinking that they made it work somehow with it. Radio never worked again. Days later I get a call saying no warranty because amp was plugged in. Joe who answered phone was rude and treated me like I was an idiot. I own a shop and have worked on cars for 30 years. Tried to save time and figuredthey do this all the time. It will be quicker to just let them do it. Should of done it myself. These hacks I wouldnt have put a trash bag in a garbage can Im sure they would screw it up. Do not let these jokers touch your ride. Unprofessional and horrible customer service. I will never use Mickey shorr again and will make sure to tell every customer and friend of mine how bad they are. Truly the worst!Update.... Called me back and spoke with them on the following Monday and they said they were going to take care of it. A week later they still have my truck and they answer the phone and pick up and put you on hold before they even talk to you or you can say a word. after being left on hold for 20 minutes now no one answers the phone at all! I have never experienced such horrible customer service. Now I have to drive there in the morning to get my vehicle back and take it to someone that will actually treat customers with respect and not like a pile of garbage. Absolutely the worst experience ever from any place in my entire life!!!!

When it again failed me, the very same day, I returned for more trouble-shooting. Do NOT go here for remote starter!! Youll end paying $500+ dollars going to the dealership to fix their mistake. They wired it wrong causing my car not to start all together. I had to have my car towed to the dealership. They said it was the automatic starter. Took it back to Mickey Shorrs and they said it was nothing they could do because the starter was taken off. Yes! Ive had a remote starter from this place for almost 1 year, and not a day goes by where I havent contemplated tossing it. I havent is because, well, it DOES start my car remotely, and sometimes in Michigan, you cant pass that up. Also, I dont know how to remove it myself and I dont trust these people. That aside, it has never worked correctly. I have to unlock the car before I remote start it, or the most annoying alarm Ive ever had the misfortune to hear will start going off (side note - this alarm also goes off any time the wind kicks up or a dog barks. No exaggeration). My former key doesnt work correctly. The remote start stopped working entirely 2 months in, and though the people at this company were kind enough to offer to fix it, it took them an hour to look up my information (card, name, everything in hand), and they seemed to have no clue what they were doing. Even after this fiasco, I STILL cant start it without unlocking it first. It also randomly makes my car turn on and off on its own, which is very frustrating. Id take it back in but I dont trust this company to give me something that actually works. Would not recommend.ADDENDUM: Now it doesnt work at all. Again.

Mickey shorr in Royal Oak has been installing Car phones, Stereos, speakers, and alarms for me since 1981. The manager, Alex, was there. Also one of the installer technicians Nate was there too. These men are the best of the best. They prove that it is the people that make a business great. Anyone with any need for Mickey shorr products would be wise to go there and let these men help them.

I brought my car here to get a new alarm installed at 9am. Total cost over $400 dollars. I paid upfront and had to wait for a callback to have alarm installed. The call came at 2:30pm that they were ready for the car. After car was done at 7:30pm I assumed everything was good. I didn’t drive car the next day but the day after that was Saturday I unlocked car with the door lock and alarm didn’t go off at all. I kept playing with the alarm and it would go off and die immediately like the installed alarm was no good or warped. Not happy at all. Would not recommend them. High and products are faulty. Car also seems to hestitate now upon take off. Another weird thing is if I pressed unlock too many times on the viper all the windows would roll down. Bizarre.....

Went there on Friday to get my front two windows, as well and my windshield tinted. You will not find another place willing to tint your windows for the price, quality, or speed of installation. I had a remote starter with alarm done on my car 7 years ago. I still own the same car and having trouble with the system and they tell me they cant fix it because they dont sell that particular system anymore and that I would have to purchase it again. Come on dudes! I have to buy another system when I still have the same vehicle??? I bought the system once already. When I first got there they told me I had to pay up front for re-programming the system and then made me wait an hour to say they coulnt do it and I cant get my money back. I was like... The devil is a liar you will refund my money for a job you couldnt perform and a for me to buy another system....I dont think so! Going somewhere else if The cantaccomodate me. The guy Alex seemed to be very helpful and apologetic but do not deal with Sean if you are a woman! He is very nasty and rude!!!! I would hope that they would start to do better business with people because 7 years ago I liked their service.

Simply put- Outstanding customer service provided by a guy named Alec who works there. He listened to what I told him I wanted and provided me with assistance in finding the right system for my car. The installation was quick and I haven’t had any issues with my new set up. I’ve dealt with other car audio sales people/installers in the past from other companies, and their services were garbage- they didn’t uphold their promises. This Mickey Shore in RO offers a way better experience for the consumer. Alec was willing to work with me to get a fair price for the sound system and installation. I recommend going to this store location if you want to deal with someone who is personable, knows his stuff, and willing to work with you to find the right system for a great price.

I understand what its like to be busy but figure out how to manage it - dont blow off a potential customer. and dont just say i dont, know bring it in!. A little communication up front could potentially save both parties a bunch of time. Unprofessional and rude staff. Shawn booked me for window tinting services then cancelled because the guy who does tinting didnt show up. I was patient and thought to give this place the benefit of the doubt. Upon arrival for my rescheduled appt. I was informed that we had to rescheduled again for the same reason. Did I mention Shawn insisted that I pay up front.When I asked for a refund he said he had no cash on hand. So i had to come back later for my refund. His demeanor was such that I will never return. Horrible Service from the bald headed angry and disturbed manager. Had remote start and window tint done yesterday and when I came to pick up my car I noticed a big bubble on the window, went in to tell the guy behind the counter to see if he would have the window tinted fix it. He instantly got angry and defensive and told me it suppose to be like that and will go away in a couple days and wouldn’t even get out to look at it. After going back and forth then another employee came to the front he finally got the window tint guy to go fix it and the installer apologized, the bald guy had some more words for me after word and said them with a smirk on his face that I was half tempted to smack off. Wouldn’t even explain to me how it worked. If I could give a negative star I would, the rest of the crew there was good but long as this pos is ther I will never go back and if you see him just flat out run. Car tunes is down the street and Atleast they know how to interact with other humans when doing business and from reading reviews on this place it seems like a ongoing problem that I’m sure the corporation has to be aware of so why do business with them when they can’t even correct there own problems in house.

I installed remote starter with them on 2 of my cars in between 1 week about a year ago and I didnt purchased any warranty. The remote starter of my second car has stopped working about 3.5-4 months later and bring new problems on it with alarm issue then I went there and they refused to fix it. Now last week the other remote starter stopped working on my 1st car. Im really upset with their product and service. I wont recommend people to go there for remote starter. Waste of money.

If I could give a negative star count I would. Had to contact the regional office over the royal oak location. Needed the window tint fixed due to some dust and hair between window tint. Called the day before to schedule an appointment, they stated it was a first come first serve basis. I told them I was going to be in first thing in the morning. I arrived at 8:57 am. They stated that the tint person was going to come in at around noon or 1 pm. I live all the way on the other side of metro Detroit. It is now 11:40 and still no word on ETA. Talked to the regional manager. He stated he will give me 40$ back on my card and call the person that dose the tint. That phone call was at 10:00am. I am still waiting. The people in the store are not very helpful in giving answers or helping with process. I would not suggest coming to this location to get your windows tinted.

I went there for days ago to have the power source reconnected to my stereo I told them the problem an issue their technician looked at it he did the same thing and didnt fix the problem I told him every time I will hit a bump the music will go out he just put the wires make you the way they were instead of training we doing it like a professional so now I will not recommend these guys I paid them $40 $41 Im not going back because I know theyre not going to give me back my money so I do not recommend these guys I went there twice and its not worth it
