If you are getting the scalp massage and facial be sure to express more/less pressure as it wont be asked. I am giving it 4 Stars as a result of Sean (the owner) being extremely engaged. Sean truly cares about the reputation of his business and customer experience. It is a totally rad place!

Ive been here 4 times and havent been disappointed. I recommend Sarah S. She takes her time and does a great job. The place is clean and conveniently located.

Its not too often I let a woman get close to my face with scissors or clippers. But after getting several consistent and perfect haircuts with Sydney, I let her cut my beard. She took it from homeless looking to respectable. Every haircut and beard trim has been spot on. She listens, is easy to talk with, and gives the same haircut for me every time. The barbershop is comfortable and welcoming, and Ive never been treated better anywhere else. If the owners or management see this, you might as well give her a paid day off or an extra hour for lunch. Shes earned it and kept my business.

Dapper House has become my new spot for cuts since having moved here. I initially thought I would not be able to replace my barber in Dallas, but after finding Sydney at DH, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The shop has a young, hip vibe and for just $25 Sydney gives a better haircut than the $60 ones I used to get. She leaves me with a fresh, flawless cut every time and knows how to do exactly what you ask. As a bonus, she’s a super fun person to get to know. Definitely stop by this gem in the middle of Royal Oak.

Absolutely awful. This was my first time to Dapper House Barber and the last. The Barber left my hair uneven, full of loose long hairs, and never followed any correction or wishes I asked. I stopped at the first opportunity, paid, and immediately walked over to another shop in town. I’d be extremely hesitant to tell anyone to risk going here.

Decent cut but not much of a “barbershop” atmosphere. Barber was not conversational and didn’t really listen to what I wanted. Never asked my name or introduced herself. Seemed like she wanted to get it done as fast as possible. Haircut lasted 20 minutes. She gave me a very basic fade even after I showed her photos of what I’ve done at my previous spot. New to the area and wanted to find a place with that barbershop feel. If you’re looking for a traditional barbershop where you feel like a part of the community, this isn’t it.

Sydney is absolutely amazing! She does the cuts for both of my sons. She always has my young dudes looking like Rockstars. She is so sweet, talented, and focused! I highly recommend Syd!! Love her!

Sarah is the best! This place is incredibly convenient and has amazing service. I went here after growing my hair out for 5 years to donate. Sarah did an awesome job and Im now a convert to the ways of monthly haircut. They also have a loyalty program that allows you to save 10$ after 5 cuts.

I recently switched to this barbershop since its closer to where I live. The haircut I get is a skin fade. Sarah B. always does a great job. She is very quick and I feel like the prices are fair. The workers are very friendly. This barbershop has a great vibe to it and a nice waiting room. Highly suggest this place.

I have been going to dapper house for almost 12 months now. I just wanted to let everyone know that this amazing, very talented, barber shop totally made my day today. I have sat in a few different seats there and all of the staff is very talented. They all made me feel comfortable and welcome when I walked in, but I have found that Sean is the guy that I really dig when it comes to the style that I like and he goes way above and beyond to accommodate my needs. This place is GREAT! There’s easy online booking and when you walk in they offer hot coffee and it’s good too! They do tend to book up fast on the weekends so book ahead of time. I’ve been to someone different each time and they are all good. They listened to what I wanted and I’m satisfied every time. Great selection of products and candles too. This was originally going to be a one star review as Ive never had to return the next day to get a cut fixed. I bumped up to 3 due to the friendliness and efforts to retain me.So I went in with long hair (chin length) to get cut into spikes, I settled for longer spikes with my barber. Halfway through I realized they went too short but by then it was too late to say anything and hair grows back right? So big change and while it looked off due to being short (too short to spike, we are talking short enough to where it can only stand up). Product in and 45$ later I wash my hair after the day and I finally take a good look to notice my hair is an inch longer on one side. I mean I was honestly better off being a volunteer for a student at a beauty school. Their website portfolios show that their barbers are definitely talented, its why I dont name anyone because I dont get what happened and this will be my only cut there. (They are usually booked so Im guessing my cut was rushed due to running long and overlapping with other bookings)They did squeeze me the in the next day with a different barber to balance my hair out though I practically look like Ive enlisted and am easily 6-8 weeks from the length I hoped. Everyone was really nice and apologized but I never spoke to my original barber to figure out what happened. (Miscommunication, time, error?)I paid their premium prices hoping their talent would prevent the kind of cuts Ive had to correct myself from the chains. However, I cant justify or recommend based on my experience.(Im kinda floored I was allowed to walk out like that) Ive withheld the photos since they did everything they could to make it right given what was left to work with.

The place is pretty great. I have no idea who the woman is that cut my name, but she does a terrific job. I come here about bi-monthly and have done so for the past year or so. They do a great fade. Its an excellent place to get a haircut. Great environment, nice people. Right in downtown Royal Oak. Kind of a whole in the wall, I didnt know it was there when I first went. I definitely recommend a haircut from here, never had a shave, but Im sure its good too. The online booking system is super convenient. Just sign up for what time you want if its available and show up.

Solid place for a haircut. I see Jacob. Always get a solid cut. They stay up to date with latest trends and the additional services are nice. Hot towel and lather shave is great touch. I have not had the special treatments but have seen others and they look good - but can’t speak from personal experience there.

Coolest location and really good atmosphere. The people are really good and friendly. Knocked a star off because I didn’t get the neck shave the last two times I have been there and because I asked the stylist not to touch my beard before the haircut, and she started to take it down. Brittland has been cutting my hair for years. Well, I live in Tampa now but whenever Im back in the Detroit area, I always make time to stop by and see her. Its really good to see where this place has come from, its small start to a packed house every single time and everyone booked. Make sure to schedule an appointment before you attempt to get your hair cut out of nowhere, dont want to be left out in the cold.

I had Sean K today; he was super accommodating and even waited nearly 20min for me to book a flight before my haircut (only 2 tickets left!), and still gave me a awesome haircut done in 30min flat! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was unable to get to my regular barber before a trip so I thought to try this place in my neighborhood. The vibe is cool and the people are nice, but the barber I had was very disappointing. I just wanted to keep my existing style and straighten it up, but instead received a cut that lost all the lined and style and since then my part turned into a fuzzy mess. Won’t be back. Can’t take a chance like that again.

My son and I have been going to Dapper House for the past year. I have had a great experience since day one. My son is four and was very nervous the first couple of visits, as Im sure most young children are, but all the barbers that have cut his hair have been extremely patient and talented. The atmosphere is great, not your typical barber shop, it has a very vintage feel. At this point in time I really do not see myself ever going to another barbershop.

I have cut hair for ten years, for this reason I am so extremely picky and would rather just do my hair myself... that is until I have been coming to Dapper House. Jake has been cutting my hair and hes a natural talent. He listens to me, cuts with precision, and when I leave I LOVE my style, its always perfect. The staff is very welcoming, the interior space has a very modern feel, and the owner Sean makes sure every guests needs are met. We love Dapper House and highly recommend it!

Good quality cut and service. Slightly more expensive than other haircut spots but only by a little bit. Its a cool comfy spot to get a haircut. Walk ins are welcome here but I highly recommend setting an appointment.

Upscale modern barber shop. Nicest shop Ive ever been to. Barbers are very skilled and practiced in haircuts of today. I highly recommend asking for Sean. Nice leather upholstry, wood/brick walls. Somewhat hard to find because its upstairs but theres a sign on the street. Its right above Burn Rubber and the door is next to B Spot Burgers.

I chose Dapper House because they take appointments and the IG page showcased the kind of cuts I was looking for. I let the ap book with whoever was open. I got Theresa and I could not have been happier. Theresa has been cutting my hair every 2 weeks since and is a a great representation of a top notch business. This shop is clean, beautiful, and efficient. The staff is great. Their decision to close during covid scare even before the govt mandate shows that caring for their staff and customers is a top priority and I appreciate that. I look forward to them reopening. I highly recommend.

Great haircut! Went in and got about 8 inches cut off my hair. I was nervous about the short hair look on me but the hair dresser did a phenomenal job, definitely plan on visiting again soon!

I came here for a shoe shine and beard trim before going to an interview. The service and atmosphere were fantastic. I ended up landing the job, too. Was it because of my shoes and beard? We may never know (but it totally was).

Tad pricy but a decent barber shop. Be sure the have appointments. They dont really do walk ins. Last one I tried walking in they booked me for a hair cut two days later.....

Great addition to Royal Oak and Metro Detroit. A lot of thought went into every detail here and it shows the owners attention to detail. Ive been to the top Barbers in the area and I would put Dapper and Brittlind against anyone.

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a barber shop. I got a hair cut and a shave. The barber did not listen to how I wanted my hair cut nor how I wanted to have my beard trimmed. It was so bad that I had to go to another place the next day to have my hair re-cut the way I wanted. And the beard... after growing it out for months, it was completely trashed. The barber obviously had NO experience with trimming beards and the neck shave.. Worst I have ever had. I left the Dapper House Barber Shop with more prickly stubble on my neck than when I went in.I most definitely would not recommend to anyone who has a beard and wants their beard done right.
