Nice place, lots of seating for a coffee shop. Few issues...they dont call out your name when order ready so my coffee sat there until I decided to see what was taking so long . If you get a bagal with cream cheese make sure u get it on the side because they put way to much on. But I feel good place to go and chill or get work done. Was a pleasant atmosphere. I will go back.
Go to place to study in Royal Oak! Best coffee in town and the servers are always super nice and pleasant. The atmosphere is also great and there are nice couches and chairs to break up the desks in there. They also always have donations with their drinks/food which is pretty cool. The recent construction nearby didnt even affect them as theyre still always full.
The two stars are for the staff who are doing the best can with what they have. Very nice people. Advertised as a place where you can print, but one of the printers doesnt work most of the time and the other one is from a third party where you have to load $5 before using it! Next time Ill just wait a day and go to the library.
Large Mocha with protein powder - Amazing! Quality & cost are perfect as well! Thankful for all they do there!
Amazing spot. Had a very productive work day outside of my home office. Reserve a table on their website.
Great staff, food, and nice quiet place to work when you dont want to be home.
Hey chill as it says office there a lot of maybe companies in there doing their business on the big tables a lot of people working from there very quiet
I was looking for a different coffee shop to go to in Royal Oak, and this one appeared in my search results. I thought I would give it a try.I typically do not like to do my homework in a coffee shop; however, this coffee shop was different. It was much more quite than other coffee shops. Everyone there was actually doing work rather than socializing. It was shocking to me because people will typically be more social in a coffee shop. But I was okay with that because I like to do my home work in more quite environments. On the other hand, the seating was not the most comfortable. The lower tables have wheels on all four legs, and they do not properly lock. This made it a little annoying if I slightly moved the table would roll in every direction.I ordered The Office Monster smoothie. It was made with yogurt, peanut butter, banana, and spinach. When the cashier said spinach, it threw me off because of the other ingredients in it. I never really had a smoothie with that type of a combination; rightfully so, I gave it a try. The peanut butter and the spinach were the two dominant flavors in the smoothie. It was a good balance of flavor. But the smoothie is a little over priced at $7.50; at most, I believe roughly $5.00 for it is more reasonable.I had great service. The cashier was kind and respectful. He made my order quickly and had a high sense of urgency to make my order. Thank you for the great service.
Rodell, Courtney, Matt and the ENTIRE crew are all phenomenal....easily the best coffee shop in Royal Oak.Courtneys impressive turkey/provolone signature sandwhich is to-die-for.Matts fastball -> iced mocha, half caf latte is also otherwordly.Dont miss out on the best coffee shop in Metro Detroit.
This is a charming spot especially if you are looking to get some work done or read. They have reserveable tables if you want to camp out and get stuff done. The staff is so nice and the place has huge windows for natural light. They had a good selection of very creative and tasty seasonal drinks as well!
Went in for some coffee and a bagel. They had ants in the case and when I told the girl working she didn’t seem very concerned. Said she’d let the manager know and was in no hurry to correct the issue. They ended up throwing away the bagel but that was it. Went back to the case 45 mins later and the ants were still going up the case through a crack / gap. They proceeded to toss out 2 more bagels and placed the rest in a take away clear container in the case, still selling them all. The top shelf still remained which had muffins and other pastries. Avoid this place at all costs, they have zero value for cleanliness or care to address / correct the problem. I hope the health inspector does something ASAP.
Great spot just off the main downtown strip of Royal Oak. Parking was convenient and free and they had plenty of seats for me to work on my laptop. Coffee and staff were also great.
The best coffee shop in Royal Oak! They have friendly staff who make incredible mochas. They also offer locally baked goods and sandwiches. I highly recommend The Office!
Very good green tea latte and coffee. Great staff and nice environment.
Super friendly staff. Had the vegan cookies my daughter loves.
Really disappointed in the lack of mask enforcement. People were wearing them in and then taking them off once inside. Out of the 14 people that were inside about 3 including myself kept their masks on when they weren’t eating or drinking. Not to mention the guy in front of me was coughing/rubbing his nose with a tissue and sitting sans mask the entire time. I got uncomfortable and left. If the culture is that people don’t have to abide by rules then no one will. Do better guys!
These people are honestly so nice every time I go in and are doing so much to keep people safe and stay open. They’ve gone out of their way to help me as a customer once when I requested raw coffee beans and I am very grateful for that service that they didn’t have to provide. I need to explore more of their menu but I usually get black coffee and it’s a good experience.
This one time I had a hangover and the great folks behind the counter senses my struggle and made me espresso and a smoothie that literally revived my soul on a cellular level and it was amazing. Highly recommend.
I understand all of the Covid rules. Makes complete sense. It’s about the delivery. Felt uncomfortable and we went to the coffee shop down the street with the same exact rules(minus the entering card info for a table reso part in a empty coffee shop). Won’t be visiting here again.
Quickly becoming the best coffee shop in Royal Oak if not the entire metro Detroit area. The ambiance is quite unique and the whole set up is very inviting. The baristas sometimes experiment with new blends and part of your purchase goes to charity. Ive lived in Royal Oak for about 2 months and come here every other day.
I really liked this place. My wife and I originally stopped here just to get a coffee and sit for a bit while we waited to go somewhere else. I love this place. Definitely come and visit. It is very unique and I feel that they strongly care for our environment as well. Their bathrooms have black board walls so there is a lot of cool and unique righting and art work. The inside has a very calm vibe so if you wanted to get some work done this place is great too. They even have a scanner and printer and I think a fax machine that you can use as well. If you are in the area and just have some time to kill please stop here. Its FANTASTIC!!!
I have said it once, Ill say it a thousand more. Every time I come back to the D, I visit The Office in Royal Oak . This is the place for me to catch up on my projects without the distractions. I can schedule my stay property. Allowing me to work then visit Fam & Friends. The Office is very accommodating for my out of office needs. But, it is the staff that makes my experience perfect.
My go to coffee/tea shop. Friendly staff ALWAYS. Pre-COVID was a great place to work from, obviously not so much now but their safety protocols are top notch. Best London Fog latte I’ve found in the area!
Great coffee and a quiet place to work when away from the office.
Best coffee I ever had
Nice place but booking tables is a mess - you book one and someone else who didn’t bother rsvping is seating at your table.
Great service. Great food. Great tunes. Overall, great vibe.
I really enjoy this coffee shop. I will go out of my way to get a large latte. The place is always so active and busy (in a positive way of course) My only dig is that depending on the baristas working that day customer service can be pretty flat (no smiles, little eye contact, and that freling of being rushed) I think the product is worth it thought. Tasty muffins, healthy breakfast and lunch options. The proceeds will go to one of three charities ( from helping the homeless, to service dog training, etc...). The Charities options will change from time to time. The office coffee also offers copying, printing, and faxing services and also the rental of offices or tablesfor meetings if need be ( I believe you can join a membership if you want to frequent the location). I live in Ferndale and will come all the way to Royal Oak just to have a better morning.
Great space, average coffee
Really good strong coffee! I especially love that the door opens without me having to touch it as well!
Attentive and friendly. Good coffee and good people
Very friendly staff, ready and willing to make the experience a good one. But I especially want to compliment them on a new offering, The Avocado Toast. Yummmm! See below.
I just had an awesome chat with Miles, a member of the Office Coffee Shop staff. I just love his attitude and the way he lights up when he is helping a customer. He goes above and beyond the job description. Like when I was eating my delicious El Cubano sandwich that his colleague made. You all must try it! At one point I got full and when he walked over to see if anyone needed anything, which I love, I asked if he had a carry out container. He right away offered to take the sandwich and box it up for me.He always has a smile on his face and a bounce in his step. Thats what the Office Coffee Shop does for customers like me. You may come in to get some work done or have a chat with a friend. Whatever issues you have, the friendly, laid back, homey, cozy atmosphere really helps you to chill and be productive. Plus the food and drinks are yummy. Its snowing as I look outside their huge windows and write this. But as I prepare to go out into the cold I will leave with a smile on my face and a bounce in my step. Thanks Office Coffee Shop for being an awesome Royal Oak locally-owned business. Keep up the good work!
Great food and coffee. Hours are a bit short.Down from 3 to 5 stores because of new paid reservation policy. Pretty unwelcoming now.
Great service with a smile.
I love the office spaces they have available for rent. My group came in for a meeting when our regular spot was closed, and the staff were super accommodating. We had a spill, and the drink was replaced immediately, and the clean up was fast. At the end of the night, we were seen out with smiles and well wishes. I will make another trip there just to try some of the baked goods and a seasonal drink.
I’ve only ever tried them via DoorDash so I have yet to physically enter the shop. Regardless, their coffee/lattes are consistently excellent. They’ve become one of my favorite cafes in the area.
First time coming here and it was great. The staff and service was nice and the place feels comfy to be in. They have plenty of room with tables and seats near outlets if you want to study.
I drive from Novi to get their coffee - enough said. Not to mention, you get to choose from a handful of charities every time you make a purchase. They donate a portion of your purchase to the charity of your choice. Their food, coffee, and service is always phenomenal. I would die if they ever closed.
Absolutely Phenomenal Vibe. Great Coffee, good food and overall a great environment to study and get work done. However, parking is an issue and they seriously need to extend hours or open earlier
I stopped in with a friend to grab some coffee and the atmosphere was wonderful. The espresso is amazing, the music wasn’t too loud, it was clean, and the staff was so kind. There were two girls working and they were just so sweet and helpful, I didn’t get their names because there are no name tags, but one had tattoos and the other had glasses. Plus, you can rent out offices for private meetings which is super cool. I think my favorite part was the charity though. They donate to a charity and you get to choose, how cool! Will be back again!
Great service and awesome staff - I would give the Office a 10 😄
The Office Coffee Shop is such a great throwback style spot on a perfect corner location in Downtown Royal Oak. It doesnt try to create a trendy new way to sit down and have a hot drink while studying or working. Its laid back. The staff are down to earth and helpful. The customer base is a mix of all ages and backgrounds. Its really popular with those who are looking for a place to be productive without being pretentious. People who come there are creative dreamers and hard workers, which is refreshing!
This place is different. This coffee shop has a casual feel and seems to be filled with freelancers, students, entrepreneurs, and a few business people. There is at least one room in back for larger parties. They give a portion of each purchase to one of three charities of your choosing which is cool! Can sometimes be difficult to know when drink is done because it isnt lightning quick and they dont ask for a name. Staff is very friendly and has always been A+. If you have some work to do, this is a great spot. They also have great fruit smoothies.
Need a place to catch up on some work? Have a home office and just want to get out? Grab a coffee and cozy up in a big chair, couch or table and get some things done! Great coffee too. Need a private space to conduct a meeting/business, they have various rooms for 2-4, 4-6 or one even up to 20 people.
I stopped here on a whim before a concert and was pleasantly surprised. Its a really nice spot for coffee. The staff is friendly and fun, and the decor is eclectic with the mismatched furniture, which really I liked. The drink menu is pretty standard and basic, without all the extra crazy coffee drinks, which I also really like; they have teas and smoothies, too. They have a nice selection of sandwiches and snacks, some bottled drinks, and they also sell other merchandise like shirts, coffee mugs, etc. The prices are pretty standard, but the quality is slightly better than other coffee chains, in my opinion. I got the Black Eye and it was really good. I would definitely go back there when Im in the area again.
First time visitor and Im instantly a regular. The place is dog friendly which is all you really need to know. To sweeten the deal, the Manager Miles gave me the most welcoming introduction to the shop, the city, and everything in between. The level of hospitality here is completely unmatched in the Greater Detroit Area. Kona and I love this place already.
I created a membership. Cant access BOOKING CALENDAR per your websites instructions and I cant seem to reach anyone on the phone. The management contacted me and helped me book a room after voicing concerns online. That was very helpful! I still think the website coiuld use some help as I still had the issue with website. The restaurant/ office space was what one could hope for and the staff were very nice. The conference room fit 9. It was snug, but for what we were doing it worked out really well. I will be using this space again and would recommend. Just be weary of the website or plan the space more than 2 days in advanced so that you can see your booking options.
Its really lovely, possibly the best coffee shop in royal oak if youre looking to study and quietly work. the baristas rule and so do the beverages. overall such a cozy atmosphere!
I like the eclectic, older looking furniture and the wood paneled walls. Two walls are all windows and offer a nice view of the corner. The food was good and made to my temperature request. My only concern is the large, automatic door that didnt close quickly enough to keep it the chill.
I come here everyday during the work week and have been consistently coming for about a year. Staff is great. I love that they donate money to charities. Charities rotate every quarter (3 months). You can also get a punch card and get a free drink with that. Theres also a local neighbors card you can get if you work nearby to get a discount, which I always use.Really good local place.
Great coffee, great concept, and nice that its off the main strip. Love the fact that they donate a portion of their sales to charity (and they let you choose which one!) Lovely ambiance that was not too loud nor too crowded. Their shop corner even serves a higher purpose with thoughtful, motivational object for sale. Will definitely be my new go-to for coffee.
Very nice environment for working. The crowd was decidedly professional. The coffee is better than some of their competitors and they offer a variety of food and drink items you wont see at the other local cafes. The staff is nice and I appreciate that they donate a percentage to charity.
One of my favorite places to work and grab coffee at in Royal Oak! Just off the beaten path of downtown, with ample parking and accessible work space, this community is very tight-knit. Matty and everyone who works there knows my family (and somehow remembers our orders!) now and always say hello (even at 6:55am). Plus, part of your purchase goes to benefit a charity of your choice -- a truly fantastic idea. Overall, a fantastic place to be with our local community!
I do like this place. Unpretentious atmosphere and friendly staff. The few occasions Ive tried something other than black coffee have yielded quite pleasant results.
Quick and friendly service, this place has a great atmosphere. Prices are good.
Found this place when looking for a place to study while on spring break. Great atmosphere, great tea and coffee, and great staff. The kind of place that has a nice, happy background hum that works well for me when I’m trying to get work done. I recommend 100%
Really nice little coffee shop. I havent used any if the meeting rooms or anything, Ive just come to read. Its a nice atmosphere, but probably a little louder than some more chill cafes. Always a lot of people working on things together or studying. They do a donation of some profits of every sale and they let you pick which organization you want your donation to go to, so thats really nice.
Great place to work or study. Very clean facility (including bathrooms). The staff is super nice and attentive. Selection of coffees and teas are great! Food is mostly light fare and is very fresh and healthy. They are focused on local community and giving back through donations and supporting other local businesses. Free WiFi access available, printer/copier use $, other office supplies available like stapler.Tip: Be mindful that certain areas (like garage) are available for hourly rent, so check postings or ask staff before you choose your perfect table to hunker down and plug-in.Additional tip: Add a generous tip to the tip jar. Their prices are quite reasonable and they give so much back to the community! Lets show our appreciation to a positive business like The Office!!!
First time there today. Had a meeting and needed to have it off site from our office and we couldn’t have found a better place. Staff was super friendly, coffee was good, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Will definitely be back!
Ordered off of grubhub. Excellent food and amazing coffee. Very reasonably priced. I didnt know this place was there. Im gonna have to stop in! (ordered build your own sandwich, dirty Chai, bacon egg and cheese on English muffin)
A good alternative to Starbucks.A nice place to sit and people watch through the glass.Good selection of coffees and teas(try the Chai tea latte)
We wanted to do some work out of our hotel and this place was just the ticket. Small meeting rooms are 15/hrs for dropins, and you have handy coffee and snacks just on the other side of the door. Good coffee too. When youre done, the town is worth a wander around for a drink or a bite.
I was looking for a place to study for a bit and this place is very conducive to getting work done. Free wifi, great coffee, a percentage of proceeds goes to charity, and overall an excellent setup. They have nice private meeting rooms that have very reasonable rates to use for group meetings.I give a 4-star review instead of a 5-star review because I felt a “cold, removed” vibe from the staff. Specifically, right as I was about to leave, I needed to offer a prayer (I am Muslim) and I figured I could ask the staff if it would be okay to use a meeting room (at least two of which were empty and open) to offer my prayer (which would take 2 min max). The response I was given was “Sorry, I’m not supposed to let anyone who doesn’t pay use the rooms”. I clarified that I would only need the room for at most 2 min but was declined. Though this is entirely within the right of the store to decline my request and to have policies for the fairness of all customers, great customer service and “warm and welcoming” staff generally accommodate and flex policies to garner customer appreciation. I wasn’t asking for much. Instead I had to pray next to my car on wet ground on a rainy day in January. I guess I could have offered to pay $0.50 to use the room for two minutes ($15/hr)...but most business don’t nickel and dime as such.Again, I am not saying that I was not treated well or that the staff said anything wrong, I just don’t feel that the staff really cared to go the extra step to make my experience wonderful.
Fantastic place to get coffee, tea, food, random gifts from their corner shop AND 10% of their proceeds go to charity. Great vibe. Comfy couches and chairs. This is everything I want in a coffee shop and more. Definitely a great place to hang out and a great local business to support.
Ive been coming to The Office almost every week (two-punch Tuesday ftw) for over a year now and have really enjoyed the great atmosphere and sense of community here. Its truly a fantastic place to study or meet. It has consistently been clean, always has a great playlist going and has very delicious drinks--with a portion of your payment going to a charity of your choice, to boot! Manager Miles is the perfect face of the business! Hes extremely knowledgable and passionate about the coffee craft (check the pour-over tattoo on his arm) and is very creative with caffeine (seriously, give him a couple preferences to work with and hell be sure to concoct your new favorite drink)! His cheery attitude and friendly personality brighten my day every time that I come in!
Absolutely enjoyed my first visit to The Office! The staff was great, Miles was incredibly welcoming and kind. The atmosphere is lovely and open, easily conducive to concentration. Perfect office away from the office!
When you need a place to grab a coffee and get some work done go to The Office Coffee Shop. Good coffee and customer service. I like that a portion of all sales goes to one of three charities of your choice. You can also reserve various private spaces for meetings.
Cant say enough good things about this place. Baristas, drinks, food, atmosphere...all top notch.
Absolutely enjoyed my first visit to this place! The staff was great and incredibly welcoming and kind. The atmosphere is lovely.
Great spot for a meeting or networking event and I love that they give so much to charity!
Like the vibe here. Plenty of space to meet people. Tables of different heights for various preferences. Like that they donate to charity with each purchase..even if you didnt want to give something extra.
Love the idea and the concept. This location is a great coffee shop with ample room to study and doubles as a new business office. The Office coffee shop has presentation rooms, conference rooms and space that you can rent for small business or colleague get togethers. The food and snacks are pretty good and the coffee is good. I think it is nice that they donate to a rotating charity every month. The owner is a really good guy as well!
Fun place.... first time patron. Free secure wifi and all the coffee choices. Interesting fact: they rent out rooms for meetings....business or personal. They also have a lunch menu. I will be back.
I really enjoy the atmosphere here. People are quiet and getting their work done. A place you can get a coffee and pound out some projects for work.
Sandwich was fine, coffee was good, staff not so much, kinda felt like we was bothering her by stopping in, plus Im not sure why they close so early with royal oak music theater having and event that night
Very relaxing atmosphere to write. The chai tea latte could have been sweeter but Ill try another drink next Monday. My new place to be. Pleasant staff and I ran into my theatre friends there.
I love this place, great coffee and delicious muffins. Its a little to busy, its often difficult to find a place to sit, but the environment is conducive to working, so i understand why the tables are so valuable. They have a lot of seating, its a nice big space.
First timer. Vanilla Latte was good. Love the cups they put the drinks in. I was really impressed with the decor of the place. Employees were nice...People please spend money at this place if your going to sit there for awhile.
Great coffee, nice atmosphere, I love the concept of this wonderful coffee shop. I had coffee with friends but this place looks great for studying and getting work done. They have printers and free wifi. I just wish their menus were on their website. My friend told me about this place and I wouldve liked to know what kind of foods and specialty drinks they had before I went here.
I stopped in for a meeting and only got a coffee. However, the staff members were fantastic, and their light roast was delicious! The atmosphere was great for my meeting, and I plan on coming back when I have business in the area!
Spacious area to meet with friends, get some work done, or just chill on a Saturday morning. They have a simple coffee menu, a selection of tea, smoothies, and even healthy food options. Their donation to a charity of your choice for every purchase you make is another reason to stop by!
On Wayse a good experience at this place, not much of a selection for food, good coffee, good selection for teas, an awesome atmosphere. Theres always a seat, Royal Oak one of the best places for parking. And I cant say enough about the service!
Hands down the best coffee shop in Royal Oak. A percentage of your sale goes directly to a local charity of choice. The coffee here is excellent and a great place if you want to sit down or be on the go. The staff is very friendly.
Met our attorney there several times. Private meeting rooms were good and also has wifi and computer facilities. Clean restrooms and coffee house items. Very busy most afternoons.
I was in search for a nice cafe to go study. I have been there once and so far I really like it. Prices are reasonable, and has welcoming interiors that I would like in a cafe unlike some other places in Royal Oak. I wish it stayed open till late but it doesnt.
This is my favorite place to get work done. Great location, great food and drink, and I love that I can rent out space as needed. The owner Mike is down to earth and is very benevolent. A portion of each purchase goes towards a non-profit of your choice!
The staff were some of the best I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with in the metro Detroit area. The space is conducive to work but also socializing. Great layout and great place.
