I bought an air soft kit and it didnt come with the battery that it was suppose to have. This messed up my experience with Academy now I cant trust them to keep anything safe and I was very disappointed with my purchase. You must ask to see the product out of its package to make sure you are getting what you paid for. Now I am shopping on Amazon to get the battery that it was suppose to come with for half the price I bought the kit for. Dont go to this store. They will rip you off!!!!

Not usually too many staff walking around offering help, but I was lucky that day and she volunteered to help me and went above and beyond without me asking which is always a surprise in the current service industry. Friendly, helpful and quick, I dont need much more than that for my personal shopping experience! Only four stars because usually whoever I ask to help me find something has no clue where to begin.

Just a quick note and observation, I believe that management should cross train their employees to help guest when they have a question or concern. I walked in yesterday looking for a pair of boots, rain boots to be clear. I asked the young gentleman in the shoe aisle about a certain note on the shoe shelf, reading:more shoes in another location, he didnt even know what I was even talking about... Just cross your employees... Thanks!

So rude. My husband, son, and grandson went to the gun counter and I went a different direction. Upon meeting back up, I was inundated with comments about how unaccommodating and rude the man working the gum counter was. He tried his best to just ignore them and not answer their questions. They were the only people at the counter. So when he finally spoke he told them they had no ammo for any of their guns anyway, and told them to leave and go somewhere else. Seriously! I told them to speak to the store manager, but they just wanted to leave, so I post it here, now. I hope the manager finds someone to take his spot who actually wants to be there.

Found the shoe I wanted on display but could not find a single box with this shoe in any size. Could do a better job of removing the display when they are completely out of stock. Still gave 4 stars because Academy normally has a good selection at decent prices. You can always order what you want online and return at the store if there is an issue.

Crowded. UNDERstocked. UNDERstaffed. However the manager on customer service was exceptional. She is the reason Im giving 4 stars and not 2. Great job!! The shoes pictured werent available. Yet they were on display. Just this pair. Not even the box. But if you like them and the price try online or another store. But... be patient, they may be understaffed as well.

The older black gentleman with the glasses and another young lady tried to tell me googles were seasonal at ACADEMY!!?? He was no help and pointed me to a corner I left from and said “if you didn’t find them there (the camping section) they are out of season.”An older black lady at the front was EXTREMELY pleasant and helped me with my needs. She told me the exact aisle the goggles were on, and I didn’t have to go to another store. She had great customer service and saved me a ton of time.It may be helpful to teach ALL your employees the inventory you carry.

Never crowded, store attendants are very helpful and knowledgeable. Check out lines are always quick. Always seem to have what I need whether it be sports attire or equipment.

Dropped in for a quick purchase of a pair of workout gloves at the last moment (3 minutes before they closed). Zack not only helped me select the right brand, but also was providing additional advice on the different kinds of gloves available for different types of training at the gym. Super helpful! I am a regular customer from today because of Zack!

Had no issues here. These stores are always clean and well stocked. The cashiers are usually friendly.

Went in for some simple items for my kid: mouthpiece and athletic cup. Mouthpieces are split between weights and football section. Grabbed a cup and the mouth guard on the racks after I thought I made sure the product matched the price because this place is the worst about just throwing stuff on the rack.. so I go to pay and GOTCHA! They got me again. ACADEMY, please make sure your stockers/department folks go thru and place the gear to match the right prices.

Went in for an online order and then walked around the store. No hassle. Simple and Very clean. Most employees wearing a mask. (I dont know what store policy is, however just facts for other shoppers.)

Good location, good selection of gear (I was there for baseball uniform pieces). Staff was friendly and helpful.

The mens shoe dept is a disaster. They have wrong size shoes in boxes, different size shoes in the same box. Some of the shoes in the boxes were obvious returns that they just put back on the shelf. They were dirty.

I love how this store has handled the pandemic. They are always very stocked and keep the store very clean and organized. They have an amazing selection and the staff has always been informative and helpful. Conveniently located off 35 and close to some pretty good local eateries. 5 stars.

I purchased some items online and decided to try the curbside pickup option. It seemed simple enough. The options to choose curbside vs in store pickup were in the confirmation email & text I received earlier. Long story short, I ended up going inside. It didnt look as organized as others Ive seen. To be fair, the store was crowded, maybe they were understaffed. At the end of the day, I got some good items at a great price but Ill probably just walk in to begin with next time.

Employees were courteous & efficient. They were out of what I went in looking for but it is the end of the season & my bad for waiting too long to go in and shop for more chanclas.

My family and I usually shop at this Academy for college football shirts. Great selection.

Great Customer Service! Only confusing thing is the girls and women clothing is mixed together in the same section. They need to do a better job of merchandising!

Very crowded and not very helpful when I asked for help. Entrance employee was awesome and helped me when no one else would.

It was super busy as kids going back to school. Employees were working so hard I offered one 20.00 for his support to my 12 yr old son and he refused.

I went to look for the Bubba lithium battery filet knife. I tried buying it online with a coupon but my order was cancelled because it turned out not to be in stock. Academy did have it in the store. Since I had used the coupon online it would not work. The manager was called. He was able to give me my discount without any issues. It was great customer service. I would definitely go shopping there again!!

Every time I go there they are out of what I need. So I went five different times and every time I go there they dont have what I need. I went there for crossbow arrows, and there was none. I went for tactical gloves another day and nothing. I went for weights another day and nothing. And 2 other times I went for other things and guess what nothing. Oh I almost forgot I asked about products they did have and they couldnt even explain about there own product. Well I will not be going back to that place again because its was just waisted time and gas yep like money down the drain.

It was just fine. Nothing above and beyond to mention. 3 stars for me means good. 4 is great and 5 is above and beyond.

Poorly run. I understand the curbside pick up concept may be new, but I was out there in the snow for at least ten minutes before I gave up and went inside to go find someone. Even then it took another ten for them to find my item. If you are in a hurry I would recommend just going inside, pulling your item off the shelf, and paying at the cash register. It shouldnt be faster but it sadly is in this case.

Customer service person I dealt with for my return at this location was rude and very unhelpful. He treated me like I had stolen the merchandise because I didnt have my receipt with me. One item was on my credit card the other was on my wifes that I didnt have. Very negative experience.

If you want to look for great looking under amour clothing, yoga pants, athletic wear, they have a huge selection. However, I will say that if you want ladies size 2xl in the under armour shirts you will need to look online for it unfortunately. Still great place to shop!

This store was on my way home. Not the cleanest most organized but I found what I was looking for. Its a good place to find most anything related to outdoors/exercise.

Apparently no one is taught anything outside the area they are hired for, or willing to learn at that. Asked a couple of associates where some equipment was, but neither one had a clue.

There is signage on the door that indicates Masks required. My husband just witnessed two guys purchase bullets (ammunition) without masks! Moreover, these same two guys stood in line sharing their conspiracy theories about how covid numbers are exaggerated and its similar to the flu. Academy should be strictly consistent about enforcing its mask policy! Its not fair the company endangering other customers heath because of two renegades. These guys should not have been allowed entry!

Outstanding customer service during this visit as well as my previous visit! Other retailers need to take note. During both of my recent visits, employees were very efficient and proactive in regards to offering help while shopping and managing the flow of people checking out. On both visits I was waved to come forward from the checkout line to the customer service counter so that I could be waited on. Thank you Academy of Round Rock for teaching your employees to be proactive and present on the job!!!!!

Well was not happy with the greeting at the door. I am sure if it was a normal circumstance many of us would not received the abrupt greeting what are you here for? I dont have it etc.

They have a decent assortment of sneakers, hiking boots and tactical boots but extremely few in a wide size, which is what I am looking for.

Letting have nothing on stop very slow restocking and no help at all no courtesy from the workers I guess academy knows who they hire because the boss party has the same attitude too

Every single time I go there to buy shoes I always find a friendly staff always willing to help. This past weekend there was an older gentleman in the shoe section really friendly plus I can tell he was happy to be there and willing to help anyone who needed his help.
