BEWARE. This place gives customers vehicles without a full tank of gas any then expects the customer to be able to GUESS how much gas to add back in, and then CHARGES you for more gas!I took a picture of the fuel level and returned it with a comparable amount…AND WAS CHARGED $15 for more 3 more gallons of gas…after adding 2 myself…it was a 24 mile trip!!! No way that little truck used 5 gallons of gas in 24 miles!!!I waited 15 minutes for someone to check the unit back in…They had one person checking the unit back in and even he was shocked to see that nobody came out to help me!And if you want your car to be clean if you leave it there…avoid this dirt lot place.I’ve responded and am filing a complaint. Terrible service and a total gas scam…BEWARE.
Service is still good. They have all the rental services as before but they are expanding and remodeling.
I was a little disappointed last week excepting my trailer hitch to arrive and too be installed although today I realized that it was issues with the supplier not the U-HAUL location.By chance I checked today and it had come in and the staff was very polite and professional from the ladys at the counter and a special thanks to them as well as Gabriel the installer I am so impressed by the professionalism of all of those involved. You have a Great team in Roseville!!!
This review only applies to the people that work at the counter. The people that work outside were very helpful.Terrible service, simply returning a trailer nobody came to the drop off area. So I waited through the entire line in side. Was told to go back to the drop off area and somebody would be out no one came out. Went back in said can I just drop the trailer and leave, no someone has to come out theyll be right with you. No one came out. Worst customer service possible.
Made a reservation a MONTH in advanced and they cancelled my uhual trailer the day I was supposed to pick it up. What is the point of reservations if they don’t reserve it ????? Unreliable. I can’t move anymore and my lease is up. What now? Lady on the phone didn’t give me a good reason as to why they didn’t have trailers for my reservation, and she didn’t seem to care. Would not recommend this place, cause no matter how far in advanced you rent, there is no guarantee.
They leavened the buildings leaving a trailer and are building completely new structures Will be a great location in the future
We rented a trailer to haul a car. We told them up-front that we would be returning it after hours, and they said that was okay. We returned the trailer in the evening, backing it into the slot where we picked it up. Discovered this morning they had charged us $20 for after-hours drop off. If they had disclosed that in the beginning, we would have said okay. But tacking it on like an afterthought ticked us off.

If I could give zero stars I would. Unfortunately U-haul has no competition or I would never use them. Ive used them four times this year and only one (in Chico) was satisfactory. Beware they will take your reservation but then repeatedly change your location up to the last minute. And even then the truck may not be there when you go to pick it up. The pickup/drop off with cell phone they like to advertise in fact is a joke. Dont waste your time. The actual location employee will roll their eyes if you mention that! And good luck trying to contact them on the phone!!! Overall U-haul is the worst business Ive ever dealt with. Truly pathetic!!!!!!!!
Total chaos checking in. Took so long and contactless is NOT contactless. App sent us to the wrong truck twice and had to wait in 20 min line to get keys even though app said not to get in line. Then the employee was really rude about it. But truck ran great, price was fair.
This place was excellent. Needed a uhaul van very last minute and I was able to have one within the hour. We ran into some problems as UHauls credit processing system was apparently down nation wide, but Kristyn went out of her way to get the problem fixed and us on our way. Great job you guys! Will definitely be returning here next time I need a van or truck.
Extremely frustrating experience with this location. I reserved a U-Haul almost a week in advance. I had that reservation set for 10 AM on Saturday. At 8:06 AM I received an email letting me know that my reservation has been switched to a location in Sacramento and was now for two days in the future and at 3:30 PM. I called in to see what could’ve happened that adjusted my reservation. One thing that really bothered me was they said because I only wanted one way transportation that location does not do it. If it doesn’t do it why would it except my reservation in the first place? I called the place that I had been switched to and they said they had no trucks available. At that point I was on the phone for 40 minutes while they called transportation services to see if there were any cancellations. Employees at both locations were extremely nice and helpful. However the fact that they changed my reservation 1 hour and 54 minutes before pickup was extremely disappointing. U-Haul seems to really be taking advantage of the current situation. I have heard multiple stories of friends trying to relocate her move in the last two months that this is happened to. My two cents is if you don’t have the inventory don’t take the reservation.End of the day this business model cannot be trusted or respected. To accept reservations and then casually reschedule people the day of like a lot of planning does not go into moving is insane to me. This has definitely shaped my opinion of U haul moving forward. I will pay extra money to use services outside of U-Haul in the future.

My experience with this location has been horrendous. The representatives are rude and not helpful in any way, shape or form. I scheduled a tow dolley for pickup. We were sent a confirmation number with all of the correct information. When we went to pick it up, we were told it was no longer available and wasnt there in the first place. Does that make sense to you? Sure doesnt to me. We were due to leave the state, but that has been set back several days. They offered a $50 refund on something that cost us days of inconvenience, the gas to drive from auburn to grass valley to roseville and back to grass valley again, and almost cost us our jobs in the state we are moving to. When trying to resolve this issue, we were hung up on 5 different times. We were transfered all over on the phone and in person. They refuse any further assistance. Why make a reservation if they never had the equipment in the first place, or they give it to someone else?For your own sake and sanity, please try Budget, Home Depot, or Penske. Theyre much more transparent and professional, and make sure you get the reservation you PAID FOR.

Picked up boxes and all the moving supplies you could imagine, including the truck. Truck was ordered online and it was a decent experience. A bit slow to push through it all. The one star deduction is due to the large level of wood rot their structure has. Not kidding that you can see the outside from inside. And this isn’t a yesterday thing. This stuff has been that way for years.

Absolutely stay away from this place! make sure to inspect whatever you rent from them because they do not check it before renting to you. brake light literally fell off 2 hours into trip, that is when i realized fender was broken from previous renter. when i got to Prescott Arizona i took to Uhaul and they said leave it here you will not have to return it to Roseville Uhaul on Wills road, we will take care of it. 6 days after getting back to Roseville i start receiving calls asking where is the trailer. Told them in Arizona. So far for a $285.00 rental they have charged my visa $1100.00 dollars. Use anyone except Uhaul. I would give 0 stars if i could

My past experiences have been excellent, helpful and attentive but today was infuriating. The gal behind the desk today (different from the other times Ive come in) called me forward to ring up my purchase but then she mumbled something about the card reader and Ill help you there but another customer was there so he had to back out. And I was the one who apologized to him, the cashier didnt give him any apology- then a guy in a uhaul shirt came in from the back door and she began helping him. I couldnt tell when she was talking to him or me. I really was inconsiderate of her. All I wanted to do was pay for my boxes and get out. And no offer to help me get my 26 boxes to the car, either. Not a good customer service experience.

I almost let the few negative reviews I read affect my decision, even after renting here just a few months ago with no issues. Im glad I decided to try it again though! I had messed up and reserved a truck for the wrong day initially 🤦♀️ But luckily they still had the one I available even at the last minute. Renting was easy, Gabriel was super nice and helpful, and I was driving off the lot in less than 10 minutes after arriving.

If I could give no stars, I would.1 - The Uboxes I reserved were not available and it took AN HOUR AND A HALF IN A BUILDING WITH NO AC for them to figure out how to get me 1 Ubox.2 - Could not take both Uboxes at once, WHICH WAS NOT STATED ANYWHERE. We brought an F350 to pickup the Uboxes, only to be told the F350 was not an appropriate vehicle to pick up both. So what WOULD be an appropriate vehicle to haul a MAX LOAD of 4800lbs? A semi? The person helping us was unable to provide us with ANY information as to why we could not pick up both.3 - When we FINALLY were able to leave, they sent us off without strapping down the ubox to the trailer4 - We needed access to the first ubox we returned, and EVEN THOUGH THE WEBSITE SAID WE WOULD HAVE ACCESS THROUGH THE 5TH, they could not provide us with access and now we have to spend additional money sending things back to the original location.The Uhaul that received our shipment at our destination was pleasure to work with, which makes me thing that this one in Roseville is the problem, not the company overall.If youre looking at renting Uboxes, I recommend 1) NOT using the location at Wills road, and 2) Paying the $100 for them to drop the boxes off at your house.
I had an amazing experience at this particular Uhaul. I rent trailers and trucks a lot for my work and have come across some pretty terrible customer service. We had a couple issues with the trailer we rented and Kyle was extremely thoughtful in trying to help and was able to make things right. I am beyond impressed and even though there are many closer options near me, I will go out of my way to rent from this location again.

They have one of the biggest selections of trucks. The computers are slow and I wish the process was faster on busy days. 4 stars is for the fault of their slow systems, not the employees. The computers always freeze up. Theres definitely room for competition to come in this industry. The mileage charges are 89 cents to $1.09 per mile depending if weekday or weekends. Thats where most of the charges end up coming from. Plus the 26ft trucks are gas guzzlers. Ive paid as much as $1 per mile in gas at the pump. Like Ive driven 50 miles, had to pay $50 to get the gas back where it was when I picked the truck up and paid $1.09 per mile for 50 miles. Thats the worst part.

I company I work for dose a lot of jobs for U-Haul and I have had experience on both sides of working for U-Haul and being a customer hey I got a set U-Haul always tries real hard please you in to meet your needs sure I would recommend U-Hauls for all your moving needs they really go the extra mile to make there customers happy.

Large selection of trucks, but LONG wait time. Only one employee working while others talked in the back. Also, Uhaul added an hour drive by changing my registration to this place only hours before my registration. Will definitely look at other options next time...
Uhaul is my go to place for shipping supplies reasonably priced quality strapping tape, light and double walled heat duty boxes. Service is good not as good as when Ryan was there he was the best!
This is a top notch Uhual Rental Center, polite, fast service, good equipment availability. They ask top dollar for some services. This is not the same rent a breakdown van in knew in the past. The only reason I didnt give them five stars was the crappy return line but in the big picture that was nothing. I recommend this place.

I have been here twice this month and have been helped by two different ladies. Both need a lot of work in customer service. I dont know why they both failed to smile at all and seemed angry.Even though I reserved the trucks both times online, I still had to wait in line for about 20 minutes each time.I suggest picking up your trucks from another location.
Want to personally thank Logan Wisely for doing a great job for me today. I had a less than satisfactory initial experience with this store back in January. A that time, the Manager, Jessica, was able to figure out a way to get everything right and handled a bad situation with flying colors. My visit today was for a small minor fix that I was thinking may take a long time or cost a lot, or just be an overall hassle but Logan did a fantastic job. Got me in, did the work quickly, and had me out with a smile in NO TIME. Turns out Jessica is his supervisor so clearly she gets the right people and trains them properly. I recently reserved a Truck and Tow Dolly a month in advance.I wanted to pick-up the truck a day earlier because it was suppose to rain on Friday. I was informed when I picked up the Truck that they didnt have any Tow Dollys. I was told I needed to speak with the Reservations Department. They said that I would have to pay more for a Car Dolly and they would try and find one for me. They found one across town in Shingle Spring 45 minutes away. I complained and they found one in Sacramento on Auburn Blvd.I ended up paying more for the Car Dolly and paid more in gas because I had to drive the Truck down to Auburn Blvd pick- up the Car Dolly and drive back to Roseville to put my car on the Dolly.Ive rented from U-Haul over 20 times in the past at this has been the worst experience Ive had and will look to other companies in the future if I have to move.Why did I make a reservation when I ended up not getting what I wanted and ended up paying more?

Reserved a trailer a month in advance at a u-haul close to my house, but was called the night before by u-haul to tell us not available where we reserved it Needed to travel 70 miles to pick one up at Roseville. Staff was rude and incompetent with a bad attitude. Had to park at the end of the block and walk back. They had space on the property but we were told we could not park there. No restroom for public. Was told we could use the porta pottie out back in the warehouse, no light in it, had to use cell phone to even see. Staff did not even care. 2 hours to pick up a trailer that was reserved a month in advance. Still wound up calling 1-800-u-haul twice during this process because they couldnt get things right. this is the worst experience we have ever had!! Will never use u-haul again

Uhaul is horrible. their service makes me never want to move again. First, I waited a hour to pick up my truck, which turned out to not even be the truck I wanted to begin with. Then, they gave me the wrong truck, which made it look like I put on over 3000 miles for a 10 mile move, and said I owed them $.40 per mile. It took me about 45 minutes of going back and forth with different folks to be told that they would sort it out and get back to me. I will never use them again.
Only one person working there. It took an hour to get our truck. I felt bad for the girl having to work the counter, get the trucks and help with returns! Ridiculous! Hire some people!

Had a reservation for 3-9-19. Got there at 8:35 and 13 people in front of me with 1 person working the counter. Its Saturday for Gods sake. The people are nice but hire someone . .
I will not be back to this facility. I usually like Uhaul. This time, truck broke down. The Significant Problem is that I cannot reach the General Manager to discuss the bill with me. You cannot reach the facility directly by phone; always have to leave message with the call service. I am told he is the only one who can discuss the bill. G M was left 2 messages on May 14 by the call service, and 1 on May 17, May 22, and May 24. Each time I was told he would call within 24 hours. Never a call. So the only person I can speak with about the service will not contact me, the move cost extra because we had to rent another truck to complete the move, because of the breakdown the move took 2 days rather than 1, I have spent multiple hours on hold on the phone, and 2 weeks later I cannot get a resolution to the bill. At this point I wish to warn others that if there is a problem with the move you may well be in trouble.

Made a confirmed reservation at 1 800 GoUHaul. Received a confirmation by email. When I arrived at 2pm they said there was a problem and that they had been trying to fix it since 11am. The equipment had been promised to someone else. They had 3 hours to let me know but they let me come in to tell me. Their problem is their response to the botched rental. Two stars because I have successfully rented here before. Never again though.

Con-artists with poor customer service skillsThese guys are absolutely terrible. They take advantage of their renters in an effort to make a quick buck. It has been a long time since Ive had a run in with con-artists this bad and these guys are top notch.Working in the event industry and having traveled for business on a million and one different occasions, I rent vehicles a LOT! I am no stranger to the vehicle walk around and, I know what type of damage is notable.When I picked up the vehicle at this location, I did the vehicle walk around. The vehicle was in great condition, aside from a small black scuff near the rear right tire. Everytime I have ever brought these types of flaws up during a vehicle walk around, I am told that it is not notable damage. This is something that could have easy been cleaned up with a sponge and something that would be typical of a work vehicle. There was absolutely no body damage and no paint, or wrap damage. Therefore it was not something that I chose to dispute on their app. I even spoke to one of their representatives in the office who assured me that they were just looking for actual damage to the body or the paint/wrap.You can imagine my surprise when I later recieved a $700 bill which noted damage to the vehicle. The document state that the entire gender needed replacement....for a pre-existing scuff mark. The situation would be laughable had it not had a direct effect on me financially.When discussing the issue, I was patient with the desk boy who was cold and rude. He had NOT seen the before or after photos but was very short wi tj me and insistent that I had destroyed their vehicle. When he finally did see the photos, he tried to say the truck was in pristine condition and by not disputing the damage I agreed to assume those charges.I regularly rent vehicles for events but, this will be the very last time I choose to use U-Haul. I am recomend to you and those who I know in the event industry to instead rent your vehicles through Enterprise. They have always been wonderful, flexible and reasonable. Plus, they offer unlimited mileage on their rentals!P.S. That glorious $700 they scored for claiming false damages cost themapprox. $7,200 in future rentals between now and December. Called at 10am to make a appointment for a hitch to be put on my car. The appointment was scheduled for 3:30 at the Roseville U-Haul. They called me on my cell at 3:10 and told me they just saw my appointment and had to cancel it because they guy that installs hitches goes home at 3:30. I was told they could reschedule me for a different day, no Ill pass. Terrible customer service. So I went to Ultra Truck Works and received awesome customer service . I highly recommend.

The people that work here are amazing! Have done business with Uhaul many times over the years and have never felt the need to complement them. But I cant say enough good things about the Manager Kyle and his team, Aly, Nick and Dustin, just to name a few. If i need a truck or van, this is the only Uhaul I will rent from. Keep up the outstanding work and customer service!
The hitch work that I have had done here has been quite good. I have purchased hitches for two different cars and had them installed here. My only complaint was that on my recent install, I scheduled an appointment online, but it got rescheduled automatically by their system (hitch didnt arrive in time), but I was not adequately notified of the date change and I showed up on the wrong day. While this is the fault of Uhauls central system, and not the location, it was annoying to have to drive over for no reason.
Fast service and they had a pickup truck same day without a reservation. Staff could be more helpful though. I wasnt sure where to go to pick up the truck or how the milage charges work.

I have had a u-box in storage here since July 2013. It is supposed to be on auto pay and charged to my credit card each month. of the 15 months they have attempted to bill, they have messed up the billing 8 times. They cant seem to retain my auto pay information and each month I get a late notice and a $15.00 delinquent charge. Was told they cant go back and credit any of the delinquent charges even though the delinqunet charges are their fault. If they cant hang on to my credit card info correctly, how can they keep my items safe!
They set my appointment for a tow package at 7am and told me 3 hours. I got a ride and came back around 10am and they told me 30 more minutes. It was finished 2.5 hours later. Then the tech who worked on it said nobody even started working on it until 11:00! He said he knew Id been waiting so he did it really fast.What??! Really? Thats NOT what you want to hear about your tow package install. Makes me think the work was compromised. Hopefully it holds together. Very very disappointed with the customer service. Rude that they set an appt then couldnt give an honest straight answer about wait time so I could prepare the day. An install should take 1.5 hours. This took over 5 hours. And no discount was given. Stupid
Easy rental over the phone. Only hiccup was we couldnt find our truck after hours on pickup. Called and the lady on the phone knew the exact spot and there it was! Truck ran smoothly and the gas mileage wasnt too bad. We kept truck an extra day and was charged for it via the phone using 1800Uhaul. A great system. The app was a little frustrating to use to rent the truck so once again a phone call had us all situated. Drop off was simple, we purchased the uhaul insurance. Upon drop off the uhaul guy said our truck had a broken rail inside but we were not charged because we purchased the uhaul insurance. A low cost to pay as our auto insurance did not cover our truck size, most dont. Glad our insurance agent told us to purchase uhauls. All in all a good experience.

Do not go here for hitch and wiring installation. On May 10, 2017 I did go to have a hitch and wiring installed on my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. The Hitch was ok, but the wiring did not work. Went back for wiring to be redone and it still did not work. Contacted corporate to file a complaint and they said I would hear back from them in 48 hours, that was 5 days ago. So in addition to having a hitch I cannot use which cost 410 dollars, and a waste of my time on 2 separate days, I am now forced to find someone to fix the wiring. I will never do business with this Uhaul company.
Sadly they sent me 30 minutes the wrong direction to get a trailer. Then completely put my order in wrong. I asked to bring the trailer from one spot to another and they gave me an in town contract. This made it so I would have to pay a charge of 110$-200$ more just to drop it off somewhere close to where I moved. And thats because they booked me wrong and didnt listen to what I wanted. Not using uhaul anymore. They have poor service
Very poor customer service.Arrived at 3:15 pm to pick up a trailer and told them that I would return it at closing time (7:00pm) the following day. They said they wound have to charge me for two days because I was returning it 3 1/2 hours late. They suggested I come back in and hour and a half and check it out then, but I would still be charged for an extra day if I brought it back later than 24 hours, but they were busy and wanted to close at 7:00 pm.Never again U Haul!!!Steve

Made the reservation on the phone. Was quoted $50 + dollars less than when we went to pick it up. A 10 foot truck cost us over $147 dollars. What a joke. And we are only going 22 miles. Thanks for the way over-priced truck. Just saying.

I preordered a van and did express checkout last week. Came in today and they are having internet issues. Ive been waiting in line for OVER AN HOUR. They dont help anyway. They dont know thier downtime procedures. I have movers at the house that Im paying by the hour. And Im just still here waiting in line. Company is not properly run, and employees are not properly trained. Beware

They really need to hire more staff. One counter person on a Saturday morning. I used the online check in and key pick up and all I needed to do was show the screen to a clerk and grab my key and go... but not here. 40 minutes of waiting in line. What’s the point of online check in and expedited service if you have to wait in line for the same amount of time as if you were to just walk in? Not ok. Been moving with Uhaul for 22 years. As a former solider in the US Army I moved dozens of times. I have never been requested or informed of folding the moving blankets on return. My girl friend overheard the manager say we dont have the man power to fold them. Uhaul just lost a very loyal customer due to a lack of creating accurate expectations. Chris the manager did listen to my complaint but didnt seem to care. if service matters I would recommended a competitor.
Great people and service...they accommodated our situation without any hassle.
