Really sad Pier 1 is closing...great deals on what they have left

Even though they ate going out of business and dont have all of the amazing items they had prior to the covid closing, the staff that works there does an amazing job merchandising and helping customers try and find what they ate looking for.

This Pier One has some major customer service issues. I bought two nightstands for store pickup and they didn’t work out in my space. The day I picked up I asked the employee helping me to keep the box (I didn’t need it). The next day when I went to return the nightstands after I found out they wouldn’t fit, the manager was extremely rude to me. She kept saying how I needed a box to return the item and “Now I have to find space for this on the floor” and “Why buy two if you know it’s not going to work.” Of course I bought two because I wanted the item to work out. Overall a very unpleasant experience and I will NEVER shop there again.

Worst customer service experience of my life: went to the store to return some items. I was promptly greeted by “grace” (not sure if it’s her real name), who said “I hate this” as soon as she thought I was out of ear shot. Then when it came time to do the return, said that the return wasn’t free and tried to charge me something like $20 to do the return. When I asked her for a written policy, she tried to pull some BS saying this was “California law” (really!? I know my laws and that’s not one of them...). Then she said that this was being recorded and was going to notate my account and that I would be charged for any future returns, because supposedly returns are NOT free. She also was super upset because my mom and I spoke a different language, which I’ve never had happen to me. If “grace” hates customers so much, she should not be in her position. Also clearly trying to swindle customers, should never be tolerated. Please watch out to anyone reading this.

Judy (sales associate) was amazing and polite, had a smile, was patient while we were making decisions, didnt crowd us either. She was amazing. But as for the other employees and managers they where rude, didnt smile, werent greeted at the door, couldnt handle the amount of people in the store. Wasnt very welcoming when we walked it, no music playing. Waited at the register forever. The only reason it was 3 stars is because of Judy.

Very disappointed with this store. I ordered 6 dining chairs; 3 rocked bc the legs were uneven. I went back to Arden Way Store where I purchased them and found one acceptable replacement. Arden called ROSEVILLE store, specifically requesting the sales associate check to be sure they did not rock. I drove all the way to Roseville to find out they had not taken them out of the box yet. I waited 10 min and those rocked too! Roseville associate said they didn’t check first bc they don’t do that on Mondays! Can you believe it? One of the chairs I returned had a leg 1/4 shorter than the rest. Apparently I’m supposed to put felt sticky tabs on the short leg!! No quality for a $200 chair!!

Our first visit was last Saturday afternoon, WORST Pier 1 we’ve ever been to. Customer service is seriously lacking here, no greeting, no asking if we needed help looking for something, no goodbye or thanks for coming in. The 3 women that we saw working gave us dirty looks and were busy talking up their usual customers. The absolute worst experience I’ve had in a long time. If I could give negative stars I would.
