Absolutely love this place! I started getting back into a healthy habit of reading books recently and I love coming to this store. The books are super affordable and still I always want to leave with more than I can afford because of the great selection.

Do not sell at Half Price. They are paying 1-3 cents per item no matter what you have. The retail selection on the floor has declined greatly. They are warehousing all the better items .The company and employees has really taken a nose dive. You are better off donating to Goodwill to help people at this point.

I always enjoy looking here for a good deal on something fun. Great board game selection and kids board books. The clearance section never really has the super great finds, but the entirety of the store has great deals already, hence claiming half-price which some of the products actually are. Fun place to shop.

All the locations have good books, at good prices, and good quality. Some of the books are a little dated. The book selection changes by store obviously. The staff is always helpful and nice.

Always loved these stores! If you cant find it on the shelves, they will search other locations to see if they have it! Customer service is always top notch and friendly! I always recommend HPB over B&N.

This is one of my favorite bookstores. There is an ever changing inventory and I love finding random books that I didnt even know I was looking for.

I cant even count how many books Ive bought off the clearance rack at this store. Its a dangerous thing. Today I walked up to get a journal for a gift and got lost in the clearance rack out front for a bit (the hangover might have had me moving a bit slow) and ended up walking out with a book about farming for $3. That tends to be my go-to, books about farming and nature and gardening, and I always seem to be able to find something to bring home. Pretty nice selection of used vinyl too.

I never realized how out of touch I was to reading until I went there . everything has changed so much since e books, but its enjoyable to pick up a book and read it the old fashioned way, give it a try.

Love this store! Not only is their selection great, with popular and unusual titles, they are super friendly. If you cant find something, ask them. Usually they can get a copy of pert near anything for you. Also very good at following Covid clean standards. Its a nice oasis in these uncertain times.

So excited that they are back open! Called ahead to get. 1 hour time slot to bring books in for 💵. I was very pleased to see that they require a mask to enter the store. They do have some available if you have forgotten yours. If you are familiar with the layout, along the outer rows they have alcoves with various non-fiction subjects. Signs are clearly posted stating 1 person per alcove. Unfortunately some people ignored the sign, as I was bent down looking at something on the bottom shelves and another customer came over and started looking at books right above my head. Im too nice to say anything so I crawled out from under her and went to a different section. Still well stocked. Still had a good experience.

This is a financially dangerous place for me to go - I always find great stuff here!

This stuff we have some good items in there you can find basically everything from books to electronic games and birthday cards and science things I actually like it I havent been here in a while though but I found the Lion King the first one the animated one the really good one and Im going to hold on to it because one day it might bring me a lot of money if Im still here on the third God willing LOL but yes its a great place to go

I always love going to half price books to see what they have, especially since theyll frequently have some of the really hard to find books or collectibles for reasonable prices.The team at this store is really nice especially the woman who I normally see cashiering.The only annoyance Ive had is that they wont let me pay with samsung pay with my phone even though it works on all magstrip payment terminals.

Good variety & prices

Great store. Lots of neat books, magazines, videos, cds and novelty games here. They buy used books, videos, magazines, cds and videos but dont sell if they have sentimental value because you are not going to make much at all. My Hubby and I sold a full box of videos and a full box of books. Most books were new. We only received 5 bucks for all. We were disappointed but figured it was better than trashing it all since we were moving so we accepted the cash and left in shock.

I love half price books! I am a guitar instructor. I will stop in the stores every few months to clear them out of all the music books. Found out-of-print music that I could never find anywhere else.

Although I liked the selection of books they had, I felt the prices wernt very much off from regular retail. I did like the books were in good quality. However, even their clearance section did not appear to be much of clearance. The worker at the register seemed to be socially awkward and not wanting to engage much with the customers and more just wanted you to check out and get out. I was thrown off by this due to the lack of wanting to help. I would reccomend Goodwill, Thrift store, or Amazon before coming here for books.

They lie about being able to order books over the phone and you must wear a mask to enter. This means that if you’re thinking you can buy a book from this store and don’t have a face mask don’t bother. You can call the number to order a book all you want but no one will answer. The only way to buy a book currently in the state of Minnesota is with amazon despite what their website says.

Overpriced very used bookstore.If you plan on selling any of your own books, get ready for a shock. They pay 3 cents on ths dollar.A used book current non-fiction you bought for $15you will get 35 csnts. Donate your books instead to library book sales or Church thrift stores

I am a book nerd, so half price books is basically my heaven. The staff are all friendly, and I always find books I enjoy. The prices are reasonable. Gift cards make a nice gift. You can find fantasy and fiction and textbooks and cookbooks and everything of the sort. You can even find comics, video games, DVDs and records. I love this place, any and all store. I have never ever had a problem at half price books. Just happy memories!

Half price books is always a fun store to visit. They not only have great books at great prices, but they have other kid stuff thats great for gifts for the hard to buy for kid. You can also search online for specific books, so you dont have to run all over town.

Do you every need something to do on a raining weekend day? One choice is a visit to Hal Price Books in Roseville, MN. The location is easy to see from the road (Fairview Avenue North). When you arrive, a surface lot is available with plenty of parking. Make sure to browse the store. I also find an interesting item (book, game, trinket, toy, music, etc.) to make the trip memorable. Yes, they also have good books.

Was able to special order a book I had been looking for as a present. Deliver to my home, easy process. Otherwise the store is fun to browse and the staff was helpful.

Love this place

I love this Half price, friendly service, constantly changing stock. Always easy to find something, except regular fiction mass market paperbacks..,.perhaps a dying breed these days. Try them out if you love browsing and books as well of lots of fun add on merchandise!

Store associates are always willing to look up or special order books without being overly attentive. I love my time to browse freely, and it is nice to easily find service help when needed. Book specialists are easily approachable and engage in book friendly conversation too. My place to relax for the evening.

I have had good experiences buying and selling here. They dont offer as much as you could get by selling yourself, but it is nice to walk away with cash in hand. The best deals are when you take advantage of their coupons, I highly recommend signing up for their email list.

Found a Kerouac first for cheap. I like the stores in roseville and st. Louis park especially.
