Wish I could say great customer service but sadly cant. Walked in with a budget of about 8 thousand dollars for new mountain bike but got kicked out of the store before even walking in the doors by very young 17 or so manager. Kinda a big sale to lose.

The staff are friendly and knowledgable and take the time to explain options. My husband and I recently bought Specialized electric bikes from Bicycle Chain and love them. These guys took great care of my bike and brought it back to life. Quite possibly even better than ever before. They told me it would take a week and they called me in a couple of days letting me know my bike was ready. Highly recommend.

Stopped in here today just to get some info on buying a bike for a senior relative. The associate was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, & friendly. I also appreciated that he didnt try to pressure us into a sale and was just happy to give us the guidance we were looking for.

I was turned on to Dave and Bicycle Chain by a respected colleague here in Saint Cloud. While there are a few local shops here and one that I historically would bring my business, none of them are a Specialized dealer (except Erics but I avoid that place like the plague). I know that referral business is important to small independent shops so I gave it a go.There was a delay from Specialized on the bike I chose, but I was kept fully informed on the status and they had it assembled and ready promptly after its arrival. Fantastic customer service both in and out of the store, theyve gained a new repeat customer. Oh man this place is great. Not only did they do a great job fixing my bike but they did the great job fixing my boyfriends bike after his accident. And considering how long bike repairs are during covid-19. We ended up being able to go in and out when we had a small issue.Really recommend!

Under promise and over deliver! Do what you say and say what you do! Dave and his Bicycle Chain team gave me a great sense hope for our of world today with their service of my ancient Raleigh. They said it would be done in two weeks (this coming Saturday). It was done last night. When I went to pick it up and discovered they hadn’t fixed the problem I brought it in for originally, they fixed it in an hour and didn’t charge me! When I offered to split the difference, Dave said no problem, we got it covered. I agree with the others who have written positive things about these guys and this operation. They care about what they are doing and want to make sure their customers are happy. Bravo Dave and team for going above and beyond with your service!

This place is the worst. Second time here and they couldnt careless. I wasnt going to go back but thought maybe it was just the staff that day. Was willing to spent a few hundo for minor repairs and basically he hemmed and hawed and didnt want the work. Flat tire, new brakes, clean chain, not exactly rocket science and Dave didnt want the work. Never experienced such indifference to a customer in my life. 3 workers basically sitting around doing nothing. $60.00 per hour he stated they charge and he didnt want the business. Still amazed. Took care of it myself for under $50 and less than two hours. I guess they did me a favor.

Loved my experience here. Came in with a problem on my wheel, they gave me an excellent care and fixed it up while charging me an extremely fair price. He even went ahead and replaced the tube on the house. I will definitely come back with my future bike needs.

These guys did a fantastic job helping find what I need and giving me tips on how to install parts. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and honest. Prices seemed fair too (84$ for a basic tune up).They even took a look at work I had done the previous day at Now Bikes and Fitness on Snelling that literally fell apart that same day (I will never go back there, management was unbelievably rude). Go to Bicycle Chain instead!

Great bicycle service here! From buying a bike (bought my Giant Halfway folding bike here) to repairs (broken rear spoke) to overhaul, this is my local bike shop. They have knowledgable staff that aren’t out to sell you something you don’t need (in my case-thought I had to spend way more).

So nice to have a neighborhood bike shop, and the service is great. I was looking for info on e-bikes, and Matt and Dave really know their products. No pressure. After checking Eric’s, I came back and bought my bike here. Thanks, guys!

I have been to this shop a handful of times and am always impressed with the customer service. The staff has routinely talked to me for 20+ minutes about questions I had without trying to sell me anything. I have been to at least 8 bike shops throughout the metro and I have received the best service here. Even when I ended up getting a bike elsewhere I received the same high level of service and the same great knowledgeable answers to my questions. The one critique I would offer is that most of the merchandise is Specialized brand. More variety would be great but the service is top notch.Follow up: Three years later and this is still the best shop in the area that Ive been to. I think what I like best is they always give you a thorough explanation of the work they did so you fully understand everything. I know whenever I bring a bike in its going to be in the best possible condition when I pick it up. The mechanics there are the best. I dont have the nicest of bikes but they always have my bike riding great. Pricing is always very fair as well. Im very grateful to have such a great shop to bring my bikes to.

The good, they did a thorough job on my bicycle. The bad, they said theyd have it back to me in two days. I heard back in 5 days. Not the end of the world, but it did irk me.

Im a bike commuter (year round) and have been since 1999. This shop has been my LBS (Local Bicycle Shop) during that entire time. They have been an excellent supporter of all my weirdly pragmatic and skin-flinty (read: cheap) needs. The shop has also continued to support a not-so-fast bicycle racing club of which Im a member. All the staff ride and they can answer your questions about a wide variety of cycling needs. If you live in the area, go to them for parts, service, or whole bikes. If you dont see something on the shelf/rack, ask. They might be able to order it for you.Dont let the crappy strip mall or the crazy parking lot fool you. They are serious about bicycles and a great bunch of peeps. GO!

I bought my Specialized carbon frame bike at The Bicycle Chain after visiting at least seven other bicycle shops. I had formerly owned a 35-year old Schwinn bike that was quite uncomfortable by comparison. I liked the friendly personnel and their insight and suggestions and the competitive price given on my purchase. Its a smaller shop with a neighborhood feel but they have found an excellent brand of bike to focus on and they carry the accessories that have worked well for them. Ive done comparison shopping on the accessories too, and their prices are always as good or better. For me, it has become my go-to bicycle shop. Highly recommend.

Best bike shop in town. Theres honestly no reason to go to other bike shops in the area. Ive been to the larger corporate chains, and the difference in knowledge and customer service is astounding. These guys know bikes better, and have lower prices. They sold me new handlebars and had it set up in less than a week! A+!

The staff knew exactly how to help me find a bike that fits my needs and describe the different aspects of the bike. When the staff member found out I work with computers, he compared where in the product line it falls to computer hardware I am familiar with.I am also quite pleased that bike purchases come with free adjustments for two years, which gives me the opportunity to have it checked while I am there.

I recently moved to the area from Michigan and was looking for a LBS that is willing to work with me on buying a new bike. I knew somewhat what I wanted and a price range. The store worked with me and I decided on a bike they didnt have in store due to size issues. They ordered the bike for me and gave me a great deal. The store even worked with me on my accessories. I will keep going back and this LBS is worth the drive. You will not be disappointed.

Brought a recently purchased bike whose chain had gotten stuck and the derailleurs needed adjustment. I explained that it was a recent purchase bike, I had the option of returning it but if it was going to be an easy fix, then I’d rather have it fixed and not deal with hassle of returning it. Anyway, they proceeded to give me an estimate on the assumption that this would be fixable. In no longer than 30 minutes I got a call back informing me they had run into further issues (?) which he suggested would be too expensive to repair for a recently purchased bike and therefore better off to return it as I had initially stated. He was adamant about me paying the estimate for the chain they had replaced (which was fine by me) and the derailleurs which they had “repaired” even though the bike couldn’t even move forward at this point, it was in worse shape than when I had brought it in.That being said, I would never bring my bike back to this shop and I don’t recommend it. I ended up returning it for an exchange, while also losing money on it at this shop for having someone incompetent who was not able to make a proper evaluation of my bike before even beginning to fix it and then demanding to be paid for doing absolutely nothing.

Professional and quick service.I found out I had a worn bottom bracket while tearing down and inspecting my bike. I do my own maintenance, but I dont have a bottom bracket press. I called Bicycle Chain, they confirmed they had the correct bearings, and Josh pressed in a new BB on the same day.

Just bought my third bike from the Bicycle Chain. Been dealing with them for more then 10 years. They have alway been fair on there price. They know bikes and are good at matching the right bike to your type of riding.And more important they do a great job servicing my bikes. I do a lot of riding and you guys have been a great. I wanted to give this shop every opportunity to be my familys LBS. I learned from neighbors the owner resides in our neighborhood and went out of my way to buy from and support local business. After ordering and purchasing a new fat bike the bearings wore out after a dozen rides, which I acknowledge has more to do with Specialized than BC, but when I brought the bike back to the shop 3 mths. after purchase, I expected the shop hand 1. Remember that I purchased it from him 2. Offer some sort of an apology on behalf of Specialized for using cheap bearings 3. Not ask me how often am I really going to ride the bike off-road (uh, well, I didnt buy a gravel grinder or road bike...EVERYTIME!) 4. Offer some discount/incentive to keep me coming back. For a matter of fact, not only was I charged full price and then some for the repair, they even charged to put on a new pair of pedals that I purchased from them at the time of repair. I expect this kind of treatment from a CBS, but at least I would not pay $5-20 extra for every item/service in the store. I elected not to order the shoes I needed for my pedals and went to Eriks and saved $10 and then some as they threw in extra cleats. I will purchase my wifes and daughters new bikes from a LBS that appreciates and works hard to earn new loyal and returning customers.

Dave from Bicycle Chain represented his shop at the Science Museums recent Social Science Bike Night event. After one of those novelty LED valve cap lights pulled my valve right out of the tube shortly before the night ended, Dave pulled a MacGyver and worked the valve back into the tube (he was repping the Fix a Flat station), aligned the tube and pumped up my tire. Had it not been for his expertise I would have been out of luck, because the Green Line was running 45 minutes behind!
