TRULY UNIQUEThis was one of the last stop on a coffee tour that lasted 6 days. Included several stops between Florida and DC.Larema Coffee House was the best! The winner.Starting with the place! Super awesome location. How they were able to keep old part of the building (was a bank before), the floors, the vault, ceilings, etcGreat job!And the coffee! Was great - very good customer service. Talented barista.Enjoyed our time with the family in one of the comfort couches.We would surely come back.

This was my first time visiting Larema Coffee House, I found it to be quite quaint and inviting. I ordered two cups of drip-over coffee that tasted delicious. Seating was plentiful, the service was very friendly and they have many potted plants decorating the inside and flower boxes outside. Im very pleased and plan to return again.

Absolutely love this gem in downtown Rocky Mount!! I went thinking Id get what I usually get, but after knowing Larema makes their syrups in-house, coffee is ethically sourced and the gentleman who took my order studied coffee in Uganda sold me on getting the Swirligig latte with oat milk(hot). Next time I would love to enjoy their food & wine/beer menu. The atmosphere is open, fresh & welcoming. Love the ambiance & the story behind Larema. I want to see more places like this in Rocky Mount. Definitely support this establishment & I will be coming back.

This coffee shop is as good as it gets. Great vibe and music, great service, great tasting coffee and pastries. I talked to the owner and he is dedicated to making sure you have a good experience. I wish Id be around for a live music night or karaoke. Rocky Mount is too fortunate to have such a 🔥 coffee shop. Get out and support it - make it YOUR spot!!!

Still brilliant. What a find. We stopped here on the way from Florida to DC last year and chose Rocky Mount as our late night stopover on our way South again this year in the hope that theyd be open despite the ongoing pandemic (they are open Thursday to Sunday). Great ambience, nice people, excellent coffee and the dense seeded bread they use for the toast is to die for. Please support this place if you can!

We stopped by on National Coffee Day 2021 and helped this great place in celebrating their 2 year anniversary. We had smoothies, tea, coffee and food. EVERYTHING was perfect, including the polite and speedy staff.

The staff were Super friendly, helpful and polite. The sandwich wrap was very tasty and fresh! And they keep the place so clean! Im impressed with their work ethic, the staff were literally busy the entire time I was there. They were taking orders, making the food, serving customers, cleaning tables, mopping the floor etc. They were busy bees in the best possible way. And the atmosphere was very pleasant. What a charming place. Ill be back!

The coffee was delicious and so was lunch. We loved the building and the atmosphere and the folks on staff were also great. So worth the detour.

My significant other and I stumbled across this delightful coffee house while visiting Rocky Mount this afternoon. The space at one time served as a bank in an old multi-story building in downtown. The decor is a tasteful mix of old and new. We each had freshly brewed black tea over ice and a sandwich. The food and service were excellent.

A lovely community space to share coffee or other unique beverages with a friend. We enjoyed a delicious Chicken Salad sandwich for lunch. The renovation of a former bank is so spacious and inviting. Stop in to see Kevin, the coffee expert.

My Mom, my husband and I were able to visit this very special place, after a very full seminar. It was pleasant to sit there and not have to think about anything and simply be present.I was told about Larema Coffee House from my friend Kevin McLaughlin. He is a sweet friend who has a big heart for community and connectivity.I enjoyed how from first entering Larema, the atmosphere, the groups of people and the space of the shop, all reminded me of my friend.Our Lattes, Mocha and Go Tropical Smoothie were all great. The coffee was profound, light yet sweet enough to my palette, without taking away from the coffee flavor.The workers were delightful, kind and authentic.I felt at home and comfortable to move about and explore Larema.Larema has snacks and foods, beers, kambuchas, and much more.Its a welcoming place for community to be, to learn and to grow.Parking was easy. There were various places of street parking and a lot right behind Laremas too.I find Larema to be a respectable small business and find its workers to be of great character.

Made us sit in a dirty and smelly hallway in the back, completely separated from the actual coffee shop, because of our trained, emotional support dog, a labradoodle. Guest capacity was at 10% at the time of our visit. Service and drinks were terrible, oatmilk matcha watery and tasteless. Never again.

Stopped here driving to Maryland from Florida. It was a little off 95 but WORTH IT! One of the best coffee shops I have ever been to. Amazing homemade flavored syrups and great options for all types of food including gluten free and vegan. If I am ever in the area again I will absolutely stop in. The staff was super friendly too 😃

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of dining at Larema during our drive down south. We had plans to stopover in Rocky Mount to see what this town was all about and we found this gem of a place. It is a quaint coffee house in a historic old bank building. Very spacious and cozy, they serve a variety of a small plates and of course coffee. Their avocado toast sandwich is fantastic and I had their seasonal coconut and carrot soup which was extremely delicious. Service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend eating here to anyone whos in and or near Rocky Mount.

I absolutely LOVE this place! The coffee is great & the staff is wonderful. This is a great place to go for locally made goods also.

First time there but my daughter Lisa has been many times. Went today and had chicken salad that was fantastic. Not to mention the heavenly Honey bun Cheesecake that is scrumptious. Highly recommend this cool place and cant wait to go back.

Stay a pleasant surprise to find a coffee shop in Rocky Mount that could hold its own anywhere. Great coffee, delicious baked goods, and a modern, airy atmosphere in an old building.Lucky that I had an appointment in Rocky Mount and was looking for a good coffee. I hope I get back soon.

Visiting the area...great ambiance, food was good ( needs a bag of chips or a scoop of potato salad with it...so plain) but took 15 mins in line to order and another 15 or 20 minutes to get the food...new staff in front? Short staffed? Fun place though

Visiting from out of town, I was desperate for decent coffee and a healthy breakfast. They have a seedy toast with avocado and a poached egg that is delicious.

I was grateful to have business in Rocky Mount recently and was able to check out Laremas space. Its a really lovely atmosphere, with wonderful baristas and the best of the four pourovers I had that day (long day). They were brewing Counterculture beans when I popped in, had some really cool local art, and plenty of space to hang out.

This place is so cute and the food is wonderful. You can tell whoever made the menu really cares about what you put into your body. There are vegan and vegetarian options that even meat-eaters would enjoy. Healthy food that doesnt make people sad is so hard to find in restaurants but this place nailed it!

Love everything about this place... the people, the food and drink, and the ambiance upheld by the space, music, events and art. If youre looking for eats, I am a fan of the Alimentaire croissants, chocolate chip oat balls, and in-house avocado toast. For beverage, cold brew for buzz and Homebucha kombucha on tap for chill. Immensely grateful to the whole Larema team for the great business theyve built that welcomes, centers and nurtures the greatest asset of Rocky Mount -- our vibrant and diverse community.

I really really wanted to love Larema Coffee House. I love Counter Culture coffee and local coffee shops. I placed a mobile order about 10 minutes away. Side note, the website is a little confusing and I found in a description link that mobile ordering was available, and that could probably be more easily accessed. The menu had confusing menu items, such as golden and swirligig lattes, and though I didnt know what a golden latte was I ordered one iced, as named drinks tend to be house specialities and worth trying as well as a Big Spoon Bar. When I arrived in downtown Rocky Mount and headed inside the ladies behind the counter informed me that big spoon bars arent available at that location (so, change that on your Square website to reflect items only available at each location) and that a lot of people have ordered banana bread today. I took that as a recommendation and ordered one of those instead. I received my latte and and headed on my way. The shop is very clean and appealing; trendy. I sipped the latte once in the car and realized it was hot with ice added on top. Much of the ice had melted, which led to a warm, watery latte-which I guess is turmeric flavored. This is interesting, and I enjoy turmeric tea, though I imagine most would be turned off by the taste, especially as this is not in the description. Hoping to salvage by placing in the fridge and revisit, I move on to the bana bread. Truthfully, it is the dryest banana bread I have ever tasted in my life. My 2 boys wouldnt even eat it, which is uncommon. The pastries are stored in a plastic display cabinet, which I suspect is the reason, though I doubt it was placed in the cabinet this morning. By the time I was home, about 30 minutes later, the ice had melted and hours later when I pulled it from the fridge I realize its watered down and not appealing enough to drink, and decide to make coffee at home. It was an hours drive total and $12 for a latte and banana bread that were thrown out. So disappointed.

The coffee was ok. But the Service, Im sure it was the owner. Slender Tall White male yesterday around 430ish... OMG so unprofessional, down right rude! You better off at Starbucks of Sheetz gas station coffee where you will be treated with customer service even if its not excellent. This place is sub-par at best. He was simply awful! NOT VERY LAREMA!!!as name suggest!

Nice little shop. Greeted as soon as I walked in. The coffee was good. Theres a good selection of light meals and snacks if you want to sit. Roomy, doesnt feel crowded.

Recommend this place to everyone I know! The Larema Fog and Honey bun cheesecake is to DIE for! This place represents community in the BEST way possible! I love having a place that makes you feel welcomed from the moment you step inside. Kevin has done an amazing job w/ Larema☺️

This is a wonderful place for a few reasons. First and most importantly, the coffee is great! I’m not sure, but I would bet they use Counter Culture Coffee Roaster beans. I got a Latte today and the awesome, unique flavor HAS to be from them. They are hands down my favorite coffee roaster. Secondly, the environment is great. It’s not loud and there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy yourself. There are huge windows so you have a great view of the city from wherever you sit. Lastly, but not the least of these, the staff is great. It’s hard to explain, but they don’t overdo the friendly, customer service act. They’re nice and knowledgeable, and they have a way of just treating you in a way that makes you feel at ease and welcome about staying a while without being bothered. This is a great place and I hope they stick around a while. Check them out.

Such a beautiful atmosphere and kind staff! I had the berry hibiscus tea with the honey ginger syrup and it was wonderful - not too sweet and so refreshing on a hot, summer day. We were visiting from Raleigh and will definitely be back when we are back in town!

Best coffee in Rocky Mount. Hands Down

My wife and I love visiting local coffee shops and Larema is one of our favorites! Everything weve tried has been amazing, but the vanilla lattes are absolutely incredible. They make their own vanilla syrup, and its the best Ive ever had. The owner is very friendly and the service is always quick and courteous. Highly, highly recommend!

As a remote employee I have become a coffee shop connoisseur, Larema Coffee is one of the best establishments. The coffee and food are consistently top quality, well made, locally sourced, and served beautifully. The space is inspiring to work in as it has been expertly renovated and the attention to detail is apparent down to the placement of each plant.The only complaint would not come from me, but from the friendly owner and staff who I bombard with too much small talk.

Great coffee and interesting atmosphere. Stopped by here with my wife and mother in-law around lunchtime on a Saturday. I tried the seasonal mocha and really enjoyed it and my wife loved her tropical smoothie. Will definitely stop by again next time Im in town.

Larema is outstanding! A brand new coffee shop in old downtown Rocky Mount. Skip the chains, and support local! Perfect location for catching up with a friend, getting some work done, or just taking a break from driving down I-95 or NC-64. Counter Culture Coffee, local beers on tap, and nice selection of breakfast and lunch eats too. GO!

So many great things to highlight: Delicious craft coffee prepared with love by skilled baristas, beautiful plants and flowers nourished by abundant natural light enliven the unique aesthetic of the space, and a sweet array of local foods and handcrafted goods make this a must-visit!

An evening at Larema was an incredible experience. From the local beer on tap, to the excellent wine selection, and of course the coffee drinks, to the beauty of the restored bank building, to the community-gathering feel; it all exceeded expectations. Knowing Kevin, the owner, we went on the grand opening night. He personally made the cappuccino - the best I have ever had, as was the pumpkin spice latte - really delicate flavor and not overly sweet at all! Plus they have excellent non-dairy milks. The whole space feels warm and inviting, and perfect for working or gathering with friends in the morning, happy hour after work, or after dinner drinks & dessert. Our friends also had some wraps and pastries from a small bakery, which they said were delicious. They also use environmentally friendly and sustainable practices in their food prep. We look forward to going back soon!

Great coffee in a great space. The attention to detail here is extraordinary, and its well worth a visit. When I ordered a pour-over coffee, dine-in, the barista put it in a nice real mug (with a saucer) for me without being asked. That made my day. Nice to go somewhere were coffee is understood and appreciated around here.While youre there, take a while to enjoy the restored space. The curved glass windows by the front entrance are unique and pleasant.Oh, and also, although I didnt need it today, there are plenty of power outlets available near the tables along the outside wall, so if you need to get some work done while youre here it shouldnt be a problem. Might be an old space, but you wont have to sacrifice your modern lifestyle for nostalgia!

The atmosphere s wonderful and relaxing. My friend said said the coffee was good. But my tea was not as it had no flavor. My sandwich was excellent but the chocolate cake was rich but dry. Would go again.

Larema is more than just a coffee house, its a beautiful gathering spot for people to come together. Located in historic downtown Rocky Mount, its made a tremendous positive impact as one of the forerunners in the renaissance of this extraordinary area. Larema has a wide variety of drinks beyond coffee... adult beverages and otherwise, as well as a menu of delicious items and a plethora of baked-good-yumminess. Though Im not a huge fan of the liberal use of handcrafted these days, Im not sure if there is a better adjective in this case. No matter what the order is, attention is paid. If youre in a tremendous hurry, a drive-thru might be a better option, BUT if you want something exceptional and a cozy, friendly atmosphere to enjoy it Larema is the place for you.

They serve a variety of unique drinks, desserts and meals. A few of my favorites are their lavender latte, regular iced coffee and chai Tea. I Highly recommend.

BEAUTIFUL Space, CALM, RELAXING, its like being out of town in your own town. They have LEMON BARS!!!! They also have a vegan curry hand pie, its all veggies and BURSTING with flavors. D- E-L-I-C-I O-U-S!!! and many more food items to choose from. Great place to get away from chaos or the hustle and bustle of the day OR to just enjoy the character and atmosphere of the Historic Bank it used to be. Come down and enjoy the delicious foods and teas and coffees. A nice after work wind down.

Absolutely incredible space, wide, big windows with tons of natural light. Such a beautifully renovated space - natural wood. The coffee and tea are amazing. I love the Kamboucha and other beverages on tap. Delicious yummy pastries and treats from other local bakeries (Thank you Alimentaire Wholesome Breads!).The customer service is top-notch, quick, friendly, kind.This is the go to space to work, connect with friends, and enjoy arts and music events.
