I was referred to Special D under unfortunate circumstances, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I had my oil changed somewhere else, but they didnt put the oil drain plug back in properly and it drained all my oil. Dewayne at Special D got my truck towed quickly, and was able to fix it and have it ready for me that night, even though it was already very late in the afternoon when I called him. His price was fair and he was friendly and professional. I feel like I found a mechanic I can trust, and even though I live in Dallas, I will now go to Rockwall for my automotive needs, including future oil changes!

My family has been using Special D for many years. We really appreciate their fast and honest service. They never upsell or push unnecessary services, so we save lots of money by using them for all our automotive maintenance and repair needs. Highly recommend.

Out of all the shops I have been to this one does a great job. Most shops just try to get you in and out as fast as possible but this one really makes sure your vehicle is running correctly before you get it back

Price kept going up. And when we picked up check engine light is on and truck dies several times. Mechanic says they turned engine upside down when they removed it and that may be the cause. 3,000 to repair. Will never go back

TERRIBLE!! DO NOT GO HERE!! They installed the incorrect part on my truck (harmonic balancer) causing a terrible engine vibration leading me down an expensive path that included a full rebuild of the transmission. It wasnt until I paid $1650 for a new transmission and got back in the truck when I noticed the vibration didnt go away. I called and made them read me off the part number they used and I typed it into google only to realize they ordered the wrong part. The bosss response Well they sure looked the same and keep in mind the difference in these parts is the weight anyways and never the looks. Unprofessional, uneducated, and most importantly they DO NOT DESERVE your hard earned money.

Lets start off first talking about the honest & service Special D Automotive provides. I was at work needing my fiances car fixed. I called up there & talked to Dwane told him what the car was doing & he had a tow truck at the house within hours while I was at work getting it to the shop. Within no time we found out it was the starter. I told him to go ahead and fix it & ill pay him Wed. Called up there while at work & paid for the service. Looking at the receipt detail he did not price gouge us at all & fixed it properly without me worrying a slight bit about the service they provided. I will recommend SPECIAL D AUTOMOTIVE to everyone out there reading this review & would suggest them to anyone needing an honest place with great work for all their car services needed. He even told me he would personally take the vehicle to my wife while I was at work to go above and beyond the service they provide! Thank you Dwane again & if anything goes wrong with our vehicles ever again or just needs a tune up we will be seeing you.God bless Mr. Joshua Rawlins

HONEST company- the price at checkout ended up being $60 less than I was quoted over the phone days before because some of the parts being cheaper than expected. Definetly a first for me to go to checkout and have a surprise price that’s not higher!

Ive had it with these people. They couldnt seem to seal a rear diff and it seized after 8,000 miles and now Im screwed out of work, a rear diff, which ruined my transmission. And they wont even warranty any part of it.
