Great customer service, great policies. Dale Wade, Dave Patton, Bryan Kimble, David, and Jennifer helped Deanna and I (Jacob). Originally I had been looking for a gaming computer. We ended up upgrading the computer and buying a very large TV. They allowed me to return the laptop I had just bought and used. Every person was helpful. Dave (sales) was funny. David (sales) was very confident and had a none pushy relaxed personality. Thank you all.
A store you can count on. Had a computer issue during the pandemic, but was unable to get a repair appointment. Called after we had all been vaccinated and felt safe going there to set up an appointment and discovered the warranty had expired. Fortunately, Dan was able to find proof of our efforts to make an appointment before the warranty expired. They repaired the computer under warranty. Thanks Dan for making the effort.
This is the only computer stores nearest my home.. So for most of my techie needs such as electronic devices/ gadgets, PCs, high end gaming computers, laptops,I always dropped by Micro Center for more products selection and options. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable.. Got this Bose Sport Eaubuds for my wife.
The service is amazing ! I recently purchase a work station for video editing from Mr. Dale who was knowledge and never pushed me to buy anything. Unfortunately, I had several issues with the system, none of which it was the stores fault. I took the system in and their tech Jon Z worked with me for almost two hours to make it work, at the end, I just got another system, but he was determined to help me out and overall, he was very empathetic with the situation. I strongly recommend this place.
I brought my damaged laptop into the Rockville Micro Center for a warranty exchange. I seemed to get the run around from the start of my inquiry for service. After first being directed to the cashier to conduct the exchange, the process was in motion. After inquiring about data backup, I was sent to the help desk for them to conduct the exchange and migration. This is where things went completely downhill. For starters the reps kept disappearing for 10-15 minutes at a time. Secondly, they acted as if they did not want to honor the terms of the warranty, ultimately telling me that since their diagnostic found nothing wrong, there was nothing they could do...despite it having visual, physical damage, becoming unhinged. It took me changing the tone of my voice for them to even consider ordering the repair parts. They were going to just send me on my way with an, Oh well.. Such a waste time, money, and very disappointing.
Its hard having a computer die on you. As a realtor I rely on good service to be able to continue to help Clients. Thank you Mark Mooney and Bryan Johns for getting me the best option for me in my new Lap Top. Micro Center is Great!!!
You got to love micro center. They constantly have lots of knowledgeable personnel to assist you with your purchase. I always recommend micro center to tech savvy and the uninformed for a tech purchase. Micro center is my go to choice. I will always recommend the trip. I can only wish that there were more around.
Whenever I need something tech related, I give Micro Center a try first. They have people there who actually know what they sell, return policy is great, they match Amazon prices and I don’t have to wait for 2 days to get my product, I just go there and pick up. Anyone in the area who has built his own PC and played with electronics already knows this place, but I know a lot of people who live close by for years and has no idea this place existed. The selection for headphones, TV’s and Laptops is better than Best Buy. You can see the actual product instead of a picture on the screen, for me that is very important. I have been coming here for around 10 years, I still recommend it to anyone buying tech.
Good selection. Good prices. Knowledgeable, helpful employees. We travel an hour to come to this location and have good experiences every time. Only thing is that I wish the “build your computer” deal was a bit more flexible/had a few different options in what you have to buy. A partial “upgrade your already built computer” kind of deal would be nice.
It is a awesome place to go and shop for electronics. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and make sure you get help to find what electronic you are looking for. The staff give good advice and options of what electronic to buy. My family finds the store helpful and useful. I bought a computer there and it is wonderful.
If u r into diy computer builds and need a part right away this is your spot.
Shout out to Michael who helped me yesterday choosing supporting hardware for the 5900x I drove 2.5hrs to attain at this Micro Center location. I have been building PCs since 2003 so I am hard to impress and Michael knew his stuff. Btw, if Michael or someone he knows sees this, let him know the funky motherboard I was talking about is the ASrock 939Dual-SATA2
Great place for all kinds of equipment. The people are always nice and helpful. Sometimes items arent where I expect them to be, but the employees are quick to help.
Nicely done, Microcenter. I ordered equipment online, went in, had no wait at the online pickup desk. They asked me some clarifying questions which threw me off guard cause most times places will just look in their software system but in this case, no computer checking, just questions so they can determine where your stuff is...seems like a very organized operation.Overall very happy and in and out in less than eight minutes. Highly recommend.
One of the few good computer stores for hardcore parts and components. Organized well, I was able to find a nice replacement mouse.
I am going to miss this place when I leave the area. Very few places like this anymore.
Great store! Special place to shop ... they have it all in the computer and electronic space. I live 40 minutes from this place but it is well worth the drive. The best part about the shopping experience is how knowledgeable the staff is that work in the store. The staff answers your questions as well as make suggestions. I went there to purchase a security system. They helped me find the system and then mention that I would also need one additional piece of hardware to make it all work. Most other places wouldnt have taken that extra step to point out what I was missing. This place is a toys r us for nerds like myself!!!
Quality and service used to be good. I went in for a computer repair saying that I would get an estimate within two days. One week later no response, no update, and all the help desK can offer is that someone will get in touch with you when there is news. Poor service.
Loved this place. I am the kid and this a the candy store. Wish they shipped to fpo,apo
All Micro Centers are awesome and this is no exception. My only observation: the staff at the Fairfax location have been quite a bit friendlier, bending over backwards to help me on projects. I go to both locations, but if you are equidistant to both locations, I recommend going to Fairfax.
Always super happy with Micro Center. It’s my go-to place for anything tech especially with the absence of Frys Electronics. Beats Best Buy any day.
The very best shop to buy any kind of electronic equipments and devices, as well as all your PC and MAC need. Unmatched customer service in the old fashioned way of trust between retailer and customer on your purchases and dignity between you and the customer service. Great, great store.
Customer friendly, courteous, repair shop response for warranty work was excellent. Management and supervisors were actively involved in customer satisfaction. I was very pleased!
Meh ... They are listed as a factory service provider for Lenovo and that they preform warranty service. I went there and they said this is true, but that there is a $40 diagnostic fee, that I would have to leave my computer there for 30 days for diagnosis, wait for parts to be ordered and then wait for them to fix it. Seems a bit ridiculous to me, so I left with my computer. On the positive side, the person at the knowledge bar was very friendly.
If you need anything tech related or want to build a PC head to micro center! The staff are really helpful and can answer all your questions! Ive been trying to get one of the RTX 3080 gpus to upgrade my PC but no luck yet but before the gpu shortage I got a RX 580 and its still running strong! Definitely check out Micro Center!
Found the cable I was looking for and picked the internet order. Was in and out quickly.
One of the biggest technology store, the best place to get computers printers tv audio gaming and related supplies
One of the last tech-centric stores that sells diy hobby electronics supplies (i.e. arduinos, ics, microcontroller addons and etc.)
Awesome store! I bought a custom built PC (which is great) but it had a minor issue. They resolved the issue quickly and easily.
Best place for those that want to build computers or just buy electronics. I love to come here all the time. The staff is friendly and helpful and they always have alot of items in stock. This is where I bought my rtx 3080 but to get a graphics card you have to camp out but its still worth it considering this is the only place in the are with them. Come check it out the prices are very competitive even with online retailers.
I bought laptop and paid for setup, they were supposed to send me text message the next day. Today is third day but no text message so far. I also bought new digital pen but doesn’t work … bad customer service experience.
1 star because I can’t give 0. Repair department is completely incompetent. Impossible to contact the store for an update on my laptop or a quote. When I physically went to the store to get a quote it was unreasonable (which is fine, I half expected it). When I decided that it wasn’t worth it and wanted them to just return my laptop to me they could not find it. When they found it after about 15 minutes, the bottom was unscrewed. When they finally returned it and I took the laptop home, I realized the battery was missing. Tried to contact them to ask about it and received no response so I had to go back in for them to tell me they could not find it.
Edit: the GM reached out to me and offered me an exchangeBought a prebuilt PC from them since video cards were out of stock. They only had an open box prebuilt so i took that. After a week of using it i noticed it kept turning off randomly so i brought it in for service. After two weeks went by I asked for an update and was told a manager would contact me, they never did. 24 days after it was checked in the called to ask my password to get into the computer. All they did was reinstall windows which didnt fix the probelm at all. I contacted them again to request to retrun it, and they told me a manager would contact me. no manager contacted me ever. Now im stuck with faulty hardware and no way of getting my money back. Great waste of $2000
Always has been nice and helpful. Good deal on some stuff. Only wish there was closer to where I live.
Microcenter is the only computer store you should ever visit. they generally have everything you would need. when purchasing a laptop, desktop or tablet, go in as an informed shopper. know what you are going to use it for and if longevity for the device is something you are seeking. meaning, get the hardware protection. accidents do happen.
This was my previous review:I took my HP Envy x360 to Microcenter with a broken hinge. The broken hinge itself was not detrimental to the computer – It was completely operational prior to dropping it off at the store – I simply did not want to risk the screen breaking from any exerted pressure by the loose hinge. After the hinge and a broken fan was identified, I was told of the cost and gave the okay. The huge issue came when they later notified me that the power switch was soldered onto the motherboard and they informed me a motherboard replacement may need to be taken into consideration. My previous completely operational laptop that I dropped off weeks ago was now not powering up whatsoever. I ended up picking up the laptop and dropping it off at an independent computer repair service where they found that the switch was actually NOT soldered onto the motherboard, but the power switch has been broken, likely due to exerted pressure and cracks.I believe Microcenter broke the power switch during the laptop disassembly and was not upfront with their mistakes. This is extremely disappointing as the individuals involved with the case were actually very kind and good at communicating with me, however I truly believe that they did not take the necessary care to handle this simple problem, and ultimately created more severe damage than the original problem. They did not properly diagnose the problem and my previously working laptop is now inoperative after their “repairs”. And ironically, the hinge was fixed to my now inoperative laptop. Incredibly disappointed overall and I would not recommend anyone go to this Microcenter for any computer repairs. And I am very grateful that MicroCenter did eventually fix all that was wrong and did not charge me for any of the parts or services involved with this laptop. I am impressed with their dedication to correcting the issues, especially in terms of how long the entire experience was. Thank you MicroCenter, I do sincerely appreciate the effort you took into helping me. And for that reason I am returning to this review and correcting it to reflect the effort you put into this ticket to make me happy.
Fantastic Service. I wish I had his name, but a representative helped me decide on a purchase that fit my needs much better.
The only place in town to get custom PC parts. Knowledgeable staff, many options.
Wide selection of laptops on display and in stock too.My only negative? Very pushy salesman to add the service plans and virus ware ($129 was way to high for 2 devices virus ware, sorry 🤣)We spent almost as much time discussing add on as the laptop itself, which BTW I did purchase
I paid $40 for a diagnostic chomebook repair, he just open it and said its a cheap computar put it in the trash and buy a new one.I went to other store, they change the battery and the computar is working like new.
Organized and clean store. Usually has what we need for computer repairs.
Best place for electronics period. They sell at msrp!
Although I love the products and service I receive fromt this particular location, I am saddened to write this review. While I was returning an item I overheard the manager deny a medical practitioner the first responder discount. I spoke with the manager after seeing the customer leave upset. He said I only consider fire fighters, police, and something else first responder and he didnt fall into any of those categories. I cant remember what the third profession was, but it left a lot of people in the medical field out. I believe all people in the medical field should be considered first responders as they are the ones we go to when something happens. If this bothers you as well, please say something.
I came here to buy a pc from the ground up. Not only was the experience easy and cool. It took 3 days to make my computer and it came out fantastic! I highly recommend this place to people with the cash and the time to get a good pc built for them.
James at the register was very helpful and friendly to us. Keep up the good attitude!
My Aunt and I came to microcenter yesterday to have my laptop repaired. James helped us in the service center and we rate his help 10/10! Very professional and patient. We appreciated his help very much and also Phils assistance!
Always busy here which is great. Parking can be sort of hard especially in the front of the store (stair side), but more.parking is on the back, escalator side. Overall the prices are good for what they sell. Sometimes you can find the prices cheaper elsewhere. However I wish the company as a whole would have better online pickup. Several items dont even qualify for this even if they are in stock. Also you cannot even call a store which makes it harder. Im glad this area has a micro center as the next one is in Fairfax and Baltimore area.
Ive been coming here since I was about 5 with my father and Ive yet to not-be-surprised at the variety, availability, and prices in the most positive manner. Workers know what theyre doing and are always willing to reach out and help customers. The deals are amazing and the overall environment of the store is perfect.
The manager, Mark Irby was extremely helpful. Microcenter in Rockville has wonderful staff under his direction.
Overpriced video cable adapter.Good keyboard selection. Helpful staff.
Best place to buy computer parts if you are in to building your own PCs. Their price and deals cannot be beaten.
Dropped a computer off to try to get access to data on a hard drive that crashed. Was told I would get feedback within 3 days. Turns out theres no phone number to call to get any status. Was excited when I realized there was a way to text and get responses about the status. Ive tried that method repeatedly and Ive heard nothing. Its coming up on a week and all I really want is to get my PC back and my money back. I would never bring a product there for service again. What type of store doesnt have a phone number to call? Highly disappointed as I bought numerous products from them in the past, something thats not going to happen in the future. The saga continues. Emailed as requested and got a response 26 hours later that they would look into the situation and get back to me. Couldnt wait any longer so I went to Micro Center to retrieve my computer. Upon arrival I was told that on the day I dropped my computer off they sent their technicians home (at the direction of corporate). Waited 10 minutes, got my laptop and money back, drove home and realized no power cord was returned to me!Lesson learned. Dont bring your equipment to be serviced at Micro Center
My first experience at Microcenter was underwhelming. Well, I will say that the workers in the store are very helpful, but I was not satisfied with the repair department. It took over a month to fix my computer, I had a very difficult time receiving updates on my computer repair ( the workers only communicate via chat, but not via phone call) and the customer service was not very friendly. The communication was very poor and fragmented. They even lost a usb receiver for my wireless mouse. However, while the staff member was not the most friendly when I told them they may have misplaced or lost my receiver, he did get the manager and I was able to get a new Bluetooth mouse free of charge. I dont think I would return to this location for computer repairs.
Absolutely phenomenal customer service. Thank you to Brian for helping me with my new build! He really made sure that I left the store with exactly what I wanted!
Been going to Micro Center for two decades. Built my first computer with their help. Great place! Most times when you get help its from someone who spends most of their own paycheck there, they know more than most professors. Very helpful, yet they work on commission; therefore changing to a different all knowing salesperson can be awkward.Have had 5 rebuilt computers, because I am cheap and did not need the power for those uses. ALL five lasted a long time with no problems. If you have a problem with a newly purchased rebuilt take it in immediately, it will be an odd duck, they will take care of it and hopefully replace it.
No customer care only company profit . Took my laptop for repair told me we will contact you this afternoon or tomorrow with an update. Originally they gave me a texting contact number but no one will reply. 5 days later no one contacted me there is no way for me to contact them so I had to waste another day to go to that location and find out that they are going to look at it in two weeks from now. No way to contact, no customer care
They just KNOW what to do with you when youre there. Store is packed to the brim with good stuff, still have my ipod and camera I bought there in 2015 and use it all the time!! I need to make another trip soon, you just feel like wandering around when youre there.
Great place and great prices. Helpful staff who know their stuff too.
Lot of choice. Good price
Nothing beats shopping at a actual store for computer components, they have had just about all I needed. Salesman leave you alone to do your own browsing.
Update:Even the owner below notes that they wont provide a phone number. Per the owners comment, I sent a text on 1/9/2021 asking for assistance with a battery replacement for my laptop. I received an auto-generated reply that One of our technicians will get back to you shortly. After no response, I texted a reminder. No response.Owner: Contact me if you would like a screenshot.I would not do business with a company that you cannot contact with. Clearly they dont need you.No phone number. No contact info. Chat does not work. How the hell do you do business with them? And, despite their response below, the chat does. Not. Work.Seriously, no phone number? How the hell do you do business?
I had the best experience today in the Rockville store. I walked in with an emergency as the server computer in my office wasnt working and Billy greeted me with a smile even behind his mask:) He was so friendly, so knowledgeable, so patient, so honest and he worked so hard to help me. It is rare that you find such amazing people in the customer service industry anymore these days but today was my day! By far I had one of the best customer service experiences ever and it was all because of Billy!!! Id truly like to to clone him and put one of him in every store possible.
The sales employees will help you get good value for your money. Building a PC? They got you. Selecting a Monitor! They got you. They will make sure you get the tech you want, and help you avoid making a bad decision.
Had great help selecting computers and parts..continue to shop here based on my great experiences
What can I say its microcenter I love this place
Micro Center always has everything you need regarding technology - old and new so its a great place to go in and browse and immediately find what you are looking for. There are many employers working that are available to help you if needed. Wish there were more locations!
Good prices for electronics. Good customer service here.
Computer store that basically took over after CompUSA closed. Pretty much anything computer-related you could possibly need or want can be found here. They will sell you what you ask for, but they are techies, so bring a second person to make sure that what youre asking for is what you actually want.
Great place. Good service but you have to find the sales person that know what you are trying to do. The Build Your Own desk has smart people.
Another good customer service and good price value. Once again thanks 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.
Love this place, best local place for BYO, Build your own computer.
Troys a great employee! Im loving my new gaming laptop and its thanks to him I was able to make this match. Thank you!
Worst place to buy electronics. So disappointed. The tech guys cannot even give you what you really need. Ludicrous.
Great customer service. Has lots of product
Uncomfortable environment. Ill just say that. They have good items and prices from time to time but they desperately need an online shopping option.
Dollar Tree is in this building. This store has no order and the staff was rude.
This is the best place in the Wahington DC area to shop electronics. Good price, staff are very knowledgeable. Great customer service...The Manager Marc Irby is very helpful; hes always on top of everything to solve any issues; in addition, hes always around to check on customers needs. I like that store.
I took my sons PC to be checked because it wasnt turning on. I left it because I was told that it would take (just) a week to be checked. After 9 days I called and was told that the PC had been checked and I would get a call the day after. Tow days later I went to the store (since I got no call). After waiting long enough the technician told me the PC had not been finished yet and that it would take 4 more days to have it fully checked. I could not waste more time so I wanted to take the PC with me. After 20 minutes I was brought the PC, untouched. The poorest service ever, and no one seems to be accountable. Just a waste of time an taking unnecessary risks.Save your self the bitterness of frustration and think twice before coming here for a service.
The best Ive ever seen in so many ways. Computer system, consumer electronics, peripherals and service. This was the first place I ever saw a working 3D printer. There is even a section of store that reminds me of the old days at radio shack, when you could pick up vacuum tubes and discrete electronic components. If you want to buy a gizmo, this is the place to find it. If you want to build it yourself, you can get all the parts and help you need here.
Great experience! Social distancing is in place and everything works very well. Everyone was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
A lot of cool stuff for the electronics do it youreselfer, and just about anything computer related the average person might need. A go-to place for hard to find electronic parts, cables, or a new laptop/desktop (which is a specialty area for this store)...far better than a radio shack and, imo preferrable to Best Buy (in areas those two stores overlap).
The workers are really helpful and know what theyre doing
Good place for my son to nerd out!
Placed a reservation order online only to be notified an hour later that they sold the item in store and cancelled my online order. Pretty disappointing.
This is the first time I was here (and probably the last for a while... I live 10 hours away from here). The first impression of this location was absolutely amazing. It was my first PC build, and one of the employees (His name was Gene Lee) walked me through from start to finish what parts I would need, along with helping me choose peripherals and a monitor. For about 2 hours he gave his undivided attention to me, one customer, which not only helped because it was my first build and I was a little confused, but made me feel special and valued as a customer. The knowledge and expertise of the employees shows that they all truly do have a passion for computers. The employees are always on task and helping everyone they can. The store is organized in a very rational fashion. The prices are competitive with those of amazon, newegg, etc. However, the experience of holding a mouse or trying a keyboard or seeing a case is invaluable to choosing parts or peripherals, which one cant do with online shopping. Even in the checkout line, the employee scanned the items and set them on the counter carefully: these are hundreds of dollars of computer parts, after all. This experience was one of a kind, and no other computer store could have made it that way. Bravo for the amazing customer service, competitive prices, and attention to detail.
Spectacular online ordering & pickup!!!Ordered in the middle of the night, got email and text by 9:30 am. Showed email to front door employee, was directed to pickup counter. No muss no fuss...no waiting in line (the in store shopper line to checkout extended down the center aisle) did not spend enough time in store to get covid.
Super helpful if youre white...not so much if youre Black. Your employees made a family member feel less than while shopping for parts for her laptop today, July 23. Your employees need customer service training as well as the big, burly white manager who viewed her as an annoyance and not a customer. She wont be back...we dont spend our money where were not respected. When yall get that call from corporate, remember this review.Yep, ran into this gentlemen today. The bald guy in the blue manager shirt. Shame how one guy can ruin a store like microcenter.
I decided to go to Micro Center for the first time on a whim, as I had heard high praise from PC builders when discussing my plans to build a PC myself. When I arrived, it was like eye candy for the ultimate techie: every aisle was stocked to the brim with different brands of pre-built computers, TVs, and any computer accessory you can imagine. When I arrived at the Build Your Own PC section at the back of the store, I was further amazed by the variety and value the stores stock had to offer. I was asked throughout if I had any questions, and I was able to have conversations with fellow PC builders throughout the store.I wasnt planning on beginning my build for a few weeks, but the experience was such a high quality and the prices were competitive enough with the online retailers that I left the store with the first parts I needed for my build. I highly anticipate returning to the store and finishing my build.
The customer service here is excellent! My boyfriend and I camped out here waiting for the chance to get the new graphics card along with many other hopeful people. The whole experience was streamlined and very well handled by informative, friendly, and extremely competent employees, notably the manager Dan. We really appreciate how well this process was managed, especially after personal experience seeing how new product releases can get messy. Thanks Dan, thanks microcenter team. Well be back soon to get more PC parts and we highly recommend others do the same :)
Good location but their service desk check-in seems chronically understaffed - managers and sales people standing around unable to help the service desk. They need to open a location in DC - low retail rents right now (March 2021).
So before you enter this location you evidently need to put your name on a wait list in person. The wait list procedures were not mentioned clearly at the website. I drove from another state to this location and was refused entry to purchase an item in limited stock. When I mentioned all this to the employee his drone like response was that it had been like this for months. If I had never been there, or any other Micro Center, and its not clear on the website how would I know about this procedure? Im not commenting on their choice of procedures, but the lack of notice. You would think it would be easy for a tech based retailer to clearly add notification for this location to its website. This would have been my first visit to a Micro Center as well. It is disappointing.
I don’t recommend this place at all for repairs. It’s a scam where they charge you 40 bucks to then tell you your computer is completely done to convince you to buy them a new one.A few weeks ago, I brought it for a diagnosis. They took 1 week!!! to even look at it and said it was done. Then I took it to someone else because I wasn’t convinced and this other technician elsewhere in Rockville was able to make my laptop turn on again. These people are literally a waste of time.
We want to thank Mark Scott for his outstanding customer service. Mark took the time to answer all of our many questions and set us up with the right fit for our equipment needed to keep our business going. We left Best Buy in Germantown right before going to Micro Center because there was a line to get in, very few employees and no one would help us once we finally got to go inside... which is a shame because we ended up sending a lot of money at Micro Center thanks to Marks quality service. We will continue to give our business to Micro Center thanks to Mr. Scott. Bravo in a world where good customer service is sometimes hard to find!
This is the best place for PC nerds. I personally am one, and their customer service is great. Their prices are way better that other retailers like best buy and sometimes even amazon. My favorite section of the store is the Build a PC section, it has a wide variety of pc components, and they are very high in quality.
