This place is too cute! Very modern yet old school vibes, a neat take on a cafe. The staff was friendly, polite, accurate, and fast! Was in and out in less then 10minutes probably was even less, I will be coming here more often now that I know about it, and it’s within walking distance of work. The coffee has a very bold taste with bitter undertones, I love that I can still taste the coffee through the swirls of caramel absolutely delicious!!

Great location. Great atmosphere. Coffee decent. Ordered a pour over 12oz, received somewhat bitter coffee. I tend to drink pour over coffee at home due to the bold flavor, but it’s hard to perfect and it’s an art. I don’t blame the barista, just maybe watch the temp of the water and grind the grounds a bit coarser. Otherwise, good experience

A gem in downtown Rockford! The Chai is my favorite- its all about the foam baby! The baristas behind the counter know their stuff! The smell and the coffee house playlist will have you at the door, the Chai will send you to the moon. The upper level seating is flooded with warm sunlight from many windows, table and chairs, and some perimeter bench seating (my favorite place on a Sunday morning). Local artists are able to display their artwork here also. Love Rockford Roasting Company. ♥️

I got a latte and dirty chai and both were very very sour, almost as if the milk had gone bad. Maybe it was a fluke. This was the first time I have gone here and it was definitely a bad experience.

I went on a coffee tour of Rockford during a day trip. I have a coffee shop and RRC is legit. By far the best espresso in Rockford. If your a coffee lover this is the best shop in my humble opinion. Keep up the good work RRC!!

A Rockford gem. They had one pour over option available: Nyamagabe (Rwanda), a medium roast. I usually prefer a light roast, but went for it anyway. It was quite smooth with a hint of fruity. The staff was helpful and kind, but they were swapped and could have used an extra person behind the bar. Simple, welcoming interior with plenty of space.

This place is a great place to meet people. I had a mocha for the first time and it was really good. Usually mochas are supper sweet, but I loved the blend of cream and coffee. Also, the upstairs is fantastic to take photos. Best time is to purchase coffee in the early morning and enjoy some before your model gets there. There are also various artist works for sale on the walls so check those out as well!

The barista was really nice and explained to me how she made the drink. It was orange juice and tonic water over ice topped with espresso. It was an experience. Definitely going back!

Had great espresso. Beans are a dryer roast and not oily like other brands, especially in store brands. This helps keep your grinder clean. Good service as well.

Ordered a pour over with Sumatra Rasuna Honey beans. The barista was very friendly and actually had some insightful recommendations on the available beans for a pour over. To top it off, the coffee tasted amazing. If your looking for a great cup of coffee or some locally roasted beans, be sure to give this place a chance.

In our opinion this place has the best Nitro Cold Brew coffee in the midwest. We have tried many others and they have been good, but theirs is outstanding! Oh and the pastries are delicious also. Try if you are in or near Rockford.

A wonderful local place to stop in for a delicious coffee or tea. They do have muffins/scones/assorted snacks but are mainly about the drinks.Quaint outside seating is available as well.Absolutely love this place! They are the only downtown coffee shop in Rockford open on Sundays.

Its not five stars because the guy didnt really smile. But the coffee was good.. fair price. Better than Starbucks. Even though it was strong. Dont know what is wrong with the lids but they leaked and I had to walk back to the BMO center. Was quite hot.

Probably the best coffee I have tasted in a long time. They roast their own coffee, make amazing espresso and cappuccino. I frequented this place while on an assignment. The staff is super friendly and efficient. I even purchased their espresso for my home machine and it still tastes great. Good job guys!

Good coffee but rude employees. Can’t even say hi when you walk in, and don’t ask “what can I get for you?” Just stand at the register and stare. Also when the girl gave me my drink I said “thank you!” And she just walked away. I’d be much more willing to come if the staff were friendly.

Good atmosphere, but Id imagine Id prefer to take home a bag of grounds to make my own than spend $9 on two lattes that were so bitter we didnt touch them until we could grab some cream.I know everyone has a preference for coffee. Just dont like paying that much for something so bitter.Wired will be getting our continued business. I know what Im paying for there.

This is an interesting coffeehouse with two floors. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I met with a client for a quick consultation here. The atmosphere was great. Our drinks were made to order on the spot. The people made it a great start to our day.

On our way to Madison and looking for a pit stop. This was the best coffee Ive ever had in the States. Nice staff, roasting is taking place straight behind the counter. Reasonable prices. Happy to support these guys instead of any Starbucks. Wif and parkingi is available. Nice merch, although a bit pricey

I liked it. They had a medium roast on tap. It had a great fruity flavor and was not too bold. Nice that they do their own roasting on premises. I bought a scone to go with the coffee and had a nice time enjoying it. The blueberry scone was very tasty.

BEST COFFEE IN ROCKFORD! They offer outdoor seating, in house seating and upstairs seating. They have a tradional coffee menu (such as mocha, Americano, cappuccino, cortada, etc) and they also have a coffee drink menu if you wanted to add in some flavor. They sell coffee brewing appliances and roast the beans onsite! It was quaint and well priced for the product you receive. Ill be going back!!

Great coffee and tasty scone!

Rockford Roasting Company is the best coffee shop in Rockford. Rockford is lacking any other good quality coffee roasters so I purchase all of my beans exclusively from them. I just moved to the area and have gotten the Papa New Guinea beans twice and have absolutely loved the coffee I make in the morning. It is really fruity and smooth and is all around a fantastic cup. I went about two weeks apart and both batches of beans tasted exactly the same so they have their consistency down.My only critique is that their shop itself is kind of small and doesnt allow a lot of room for people to work but that does not change my opinion of them in the slightest.

Rockford Roasters, by far, has the best coffee in Rockford! They roast their own coffee, their menu has a lot of coffee and tea options, and they serve delicious bakery too--Baristas are friendly and knowlegeable and plenty of seating upstairs

Great Coffee made from beans roasted on site. You can literally smell the delicious fragrance of roasting coffee beans as you sip coffee on the patio. The inside atmosphere is fantastic as well. The best oatly chai I’ve ever had! Oatly Cortado was steamed to perfection and we also enjoyed our iced americano! It was our first time in and when we’re in the area we’ll always be sure to stop!

Black coffee drinker. One of 3 or 4 places in my travels where the coffee was fantastic. Im not sure what they were serving today but the flavor profile kept evolving as it cool off. Each stage flavor evolution was sooooo good. Each sip was very satisfying.

Friendly and kind staff, make you feel comfortable as soon as your enter. They are always experimenting with new drinks and different ways to make people happy. Every time I come here I feel like I should come back soon. Also they are constantly supporting the local community which is a great way to run a business!

This place made my day. It was within walking distance and I was desperate for caffeine. The inside is quirky and comfortable, small but they have a whole deck area outside and tables on the sidewalk. They were busy, but fast. I considered giving them only 4 stars because they dont have nonfat milk., but man, that percent milk sure is creamy.

The best coffee you can get for many miles in any direction. Served in a cozy downtown space that feels upscale but not pretentious. Unfortunately the staff didn’t extend much courtesy beyond taking my order and seemed preoccupied which tainted my experience a bit. Would try again.

This is an absolutely ideal example of what local coffee can be. The shop is beautifully inviting and feels like it could be at home in any major city, but here it is shining a big bright light on a reemerging downtown Rockford, IL. The coffee is on par with the best roasters anywhere and I have tried them in Chicago, Seattle, Portland, you name it. These guys get it. I liked the coffee so much, I have since placed an online order for coffee. When the package came, the included a free sample of another coffee. A++++

As a Philadelphian who travels a lot for work, it is quite a joy to find such a spectacular coffee shop because they are such a rare thing to come by. Their cappuccinos are as good as my favorite places in Philly, and I do not say that lightly. This is easily my favorite coffee shop away from home. Well done Rockford, IL, you unsuspectingly blew my socks off. Youre so cultured!

Stopped by here after running some errands on a Saturday for a little pick me up. Saw a couple workers, not so busy in therr, but saw a handful of people lounging, working, or just hanging out. Noticed there was also an upstairs, but did not go look to see what was up there.

Locally owned. The best cup of coffee in town. I also enjoyed a scone and took a bag of beans home to brew. I usually use cream and sugar but their coffee is so good that I dont need it.

Have been here a few times and its a Very pleasant coffee shop w/ great customer service. Seems small but theres upstairs seating not to mention the parklet in front. I do wish there was a couple more shade umbrellas (Id rather set outside) but thats a personal preference. Great drinks great staff what more could you want.

This is a must stop shop. Rockford Roasting recently won second best tasting coffee at a competition in New Orleans. The coffee is smooth, roasted in house by knowledgeable people. If you want a great cup of coffee, stop here. If you want mediocre coffee, this isnt the place

Great place for coffee downtown

This was my first time here and I really liked their coffee. Since I was there on Sunday morning, it was very cozy and quite. Very good experience, I definitely recommend this place.

Very much a hipster hot spot. I was wholly out of my element in this establishment. Not an extensive menu in terms of choices but what they do have is good. I had an almond milk latte and it was quite tasty. My friend shared her lemon poppy seed muffin with me and it was delicious and even had lemon curd in the center. I also purchased two bottles of the cold brew but havent had a chance to drink them yet.

Maybe the Best Cappuccino Ever. I was in town for my daughters dance competition at the Coronado Theater, which claims to be the crown jewel of Rockford, and stopped in Rockford Roasting for a quick cappuccino. I actually think Rockford Roasting should make that claim. I have been all over the country and I am telling this place has the best cappuccino. The espresso is perfectly roasted with several layers of delicious flavors. The barista was especially good. Very precise preparation of the ground beans in the portafilter and adept milk frothing skills. They have an upstairs hang out area that has a really laid back and friendly vibe. Everyone was super cool.

I believe the best local coffee house in the area. Great selection of quality coffee to drink and to buy as beans. The two guys who work there often are awesome at what they do and make a solid cup of coffee. They can provide advice on home brewing and advice on just a simple selection of coffee. I highly recommend this place for a calm and relaxing environment in which have a conversation or study schoolwork. My only gripe with this place is the small space it takes up, it makes no difference however, when you start sipping on their brew.

The coffee was good. When I went there was only one person working and they were very busy(line out of the door). I do not know if this was an isolated incident or a common occurrence. I would have given four stars if I didn’t feel bad for the employee who was working extremely hard.

Lovely urban feel with quality coffee. Limited menu that glows with specialty items; coffee is bright and individualized (not commercialized). Quiet and unpretentious atmosphere. Plenty of parking.
