A tenant broke one of my argon-filled high efficiency double-paned windows. I brought the window to this location, and the manager swore that no hardware store could repair it.I took the same window to K&K in Bettendorf, and they were able to order replacement glass.Dont trust the advice here, and confirm it elsewhere if there is any question.

Always a good experience here. Maybe some money could be saved at other places, but the employees here are knowledgeable and friendly. It may be a national chain, but it has the neighborhood feel & staffed by good people.

My favorite local hardware store... Everyone is super friendly and incredibly helpful. The knowledge base inside those four walls is worth every penny. And they have an extensive inventory of not-easy-to-find hardware bits.

I cant say enough nice things about the staff here. Instead of searching for help, as I have to do at the other True Value store, they immediately engage me as soon as I walk in the door. They provide great advice and always help me load my car. Also, their delivery fees are exceptionally reasonable. Menards quoted me $450 to deliver a pallet of mulch (just delivery), Handy quoted me $25!

Ive been shopping at this store for over 20 years. Im very disappointed that employees are not all wearing face masks in the midst of a pandemic. While Ive always appreciated how eager employees generally are to help, I also need to emphasize that by not wearing masks they are putting all of their customers at risk. It astounds me that people dont seem to acknowledge that COVID19 is often transferred from asymptomatic people who are not wearing masks or keeping their distance.

The store is fine and the staff is great but the hours are awful. I work Monday-Friday till 6 so that gives me an hour to get to the shop and find what I need before they close. Have a weekend project? Better get it done before 5 on Saturday or TWO on Sunday. Ive easily spent $10,000 at Lowes in the past 5 years because Handy is closed and Lowes is the nearest open hardware store. Ive stopped shopping at Handy altogether out of principle.

Ive never had a problem at Handy True Value. The staff is ready to help. Inventory is varied, always useful items for home, lawn, garden. Great cleansers, keys made, scissors and saws sharpened. Helpful, knowledgable.You can count on it, Ill be back!

Forget the big box stores, especially if you arent sure you know exactly what you need or where it is! This place is fantastic. Employees came up to me asking if I needed assistance, I didnt have to chase anyone down from 4 departments away. Not only was I assisted in finding what I needed, but I was educated on different products and benefits/drawbacks for my project.

Used to like it. But we came in today and not ONE of their employees was wearing a mask. Such an attitude change from before COVID. And they had one hand sanitizer. They had their people every corner, hard to social distance and they didnt care, more dare than care. So we got out as fast as we could, holding our breath.

I just went to Handy True Value Hardware in Rock Island searching for a couple of odd screws/bolts. As I was being helped, a man walked up to the employee that was helping me and asked for help with a screw. The employee literally stopped helping me and helped the other customers instead. What I learned: If you are a woman, shop somewhere else because the concept of first come, first serve doesnt apply here. Men will be treated as a priority over women. For the record, this is the second time this sort of gender BS has happened here and the last time I set foot in this store. Sadly, if you look at their reviews, Im not the only woman who feels the discrimination there. #myvaginadoesnotmakemeincapableofusingtools

Im not a handyman myself, so I sure am glad this place is around. The friendly staff will take the time to understand what youre doing and point you in the right direction. They wont try to sell you anything you dont need and have even fixed some minor problems for free. Forget the big-box place down the hill, this is the place to go. Thank you Handy True Value !

I have used this True Value store for many years. Purchased paint, tools, hardware and many equipment rentals. We have never ever had an unpleasant experience. Great staff and great inventory. Thank you to them for helping us like they do.

Staff dont listen when you request items for your family members example my father has hip surgery on both hips he was told not to sit with his legs together or his knees and not to sit in small chairs Ive asked multiple times if he could have a larger wheelchair and they have not yet after 6 weeks gave him one. The best are older dont raise up and down properly I was told that they had brought the beds over from the old nursing home Oak Glen that just too weird and just recently it came down from the county that they are to remove all of the bed rails off of the beds because they feel its a hazard hows the patient supposed to raise himself up and help get himself up out of bed without railings

Just walked out of here after buying some hardware/tools for a brake job Im doing this weekend and Im thoroughly impressed. Ive never been to this store before but you would have thought I was family, an employee greeted me, asked me what I needed and then actually took me around the store to find everything I needed instead of leaving me to wander aimlessly. A++ service, better than any other store Ive tried. Made a lifetime customer today!

Friendly staff, always ready to help you find something. Went in for something obscure, first person I talked to (cashier) didnt know and called for assistance. After he found it for me and I was checking out, the cashier asked me where it was so shed know for the next person. A+ effort.

Went in to get a chip key cut i here the guy say to his associate that they cant gauranty the key. I asked what he meant, he replied key may not work because my key was a copy. I asked if it did not work would i get my money back? He replied NO! So i would be out $75. I asked for my key back and went to another True Value and asked the same question. They replied absolutely we will refund your money. Now thats TRUE VALUE! Handy has lost several customers cause me, my wife and kids will be going to Trevor from now on.

I just go 2 times, and both are bad experiences, the first time i have a cut in my finger and i go to the store for some materials and i ask for bandages and the cashier say i dont have a free bandage but I dont ask for free i want to buy it.The second bad experience is because i buy an adapter for my range i took the wrong and when i comeback for the right they dosent want to refund me for the wrong, because they say is damaged, i dont see any damage but they still in the same way, i think the real issue is because i am Hispanic and they dont like it, i say to every Hispanic person dont buy at this store,because i work in stores for years and the providers always give you a refund for returns from the costumers.

Great selection of just about anything you can imagine that a hardware store should have and always great and helpful service from anyone in the store. I do shop here a lot for both work and home and Im generally always pleased with my experience. The prices are a bit high but thats expected from a True Value Store and the only real issue Ive ever had is if you order something or ask the staff to look for something thats not in stock or in the store and get back to you, you generally dont ever hear back from them.

X it was kind of expensive just for that little part that I took a picture of but I would have wasted more gas going out to Walmart so and guess it was better there and they was ready to take me right back to the park and I got it fast and right out the door
