Nice place, very like our food coop. There is a great selection of personal care items and also a wonderful bulk spice and grain area. I wasnt expecting to stop so wasnt prepared but if you forget a regular bag they have boxes to pack into.

10/24/21 - We were checking to see if they had the Fody BBQ sauce. We heard they were discontinuing that product from another store. We were about to get two bottles of this!

They have the largest vitamin selection I have seen and if they dont have it they will get it. The Greatest part is they give Mayo Employees a 10% discount.......

Expensive, but amazing chocolate frogs

This is my new favorite store, and I don’t even live in Rochester. I’ll be making a stop here every time I visit though. Their gluten free selection is larger than I’ve ever seen in my life! We’re talking baguettes, donuts, English muffins, and cinnamon raisin bread! Plus the kombucha selection is out of this world. And they’ve got a large selection of natural health and beauty products which is a huge plus.

I like this place but it can be pricy

I work for Instacart and today was my first day doing so. One of my first orders was to this store and I was lost. Never been in there before and it was a bit overwhelming to be honest. You could tell I was a newbie for sure. When am employee came up to me and asked if I needed help. He helped me find a few items then I was good for a bit and then got totally lost again so he helped me finish the last half of my grocery order. It was about a half hour or so but he walked with me through the store helping me and making sure I was finding everything. His name was Zack and was very helpful. And when I checked out there was this very nice young lady and this slightly older gentleman who both helped me out at the check out. This store is definitely a 10/10. And very clean and has a lot of food that even though it’s healthy I still plan on doing some of my normal shopping there from now on. Thanks guys!

This is by far the best grocery store in Rochester. They truly value and respect their customers and community. The whole staff is amazing, knowledgeable, and friendly. Their fresh produce is all organic and affordably priced - which is very impressive and shows how dedicated they are to promoting the long-term health and wellness of the community they serve, organic farmers, and the environment. Not to mention they dont use plastic bags at the checkout counters - so important! Thank you Derek, Zach, Melissa, Mark, Mike, Susan, and the rest of the staff for giving Rochester such an outstanding resource for being healthy and serving the community in such an eco-friendly way.

I usually go to natural food stores like whole foods, but since they do not have one here in Rochester, I found this place. It might not be as fancy but it gets the job done. I usually go here for vitamins and supplements and they have a WHOLE area to overwhelm you with.The workers here are pretty customer driven so its nice that someone will actually ask me if I need help - theyve always been friendly and I appreciate that a lot!Would recommend this spot for natural supplements for sure!

They have quite a lot of selections. Just do your own research on what you are looking for before going there. Although the staff seem to be knowledgeable enough, some of the answers we have might have need to be answered by true professional.

Better than the cooperative store in the middle the city for prices, knowing all the produce is always organic, and the staff are generally nicer and take better care of themselves. That all being said its still an organic health food grocery store (more $ generally), so you are ether coming because youve done a lot of research and dont trust the chemicals that big agriculture uses on your food, or youre a crazy wacko spacy hippy type, or a fake yogi or buddhist wanna be, or pretending that you have celiac disease, or take colligan (placebo gelatin). Tread with appropriate caution. Otherwise nice and convenient. Produce is very good to excellent 9 out of 10 times. Other organic items are top notch and usually cheaper than the hyvee (and all other health food stores). If you are a Mayo employee, inquire about the discount.

You can tell as soon as you arrive in the store this is a place centered around wellness and values self education. They literally have a place for customers to research their minds and bodies unique needs. Thats right you will be encouraged to read, research and review methods of interest to make choices for yourself. If you need more information they can tell you where to find the best resources unique to solving your own needs through your own choices. The staff collaborates very well when your wellness needs transition across departments in the store so you dont make conflicting or counterproductive decisions you may be unaware of. The pricing of their products is fair and you know what your getting had care taken in how it got on the shelf. Dont expect them to be able to diagnose or fix your problems. What you can expect is a kind and helpful group eager to help you help yourself!

Natural Grocers is one of ourgo to stores. Love the organic produce section, rice tortilla s,and chocolate section. There are other numerous items we pick up here, also. And, easily accessible from Highway 52!

Good selection, but not cheap.

I live an hour away from here and almost every time I come to Rochester I stop here for a drink and a snack.Highly recommend coming if you’re vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free or other special needs. They have a vast selection of food options.

This is the best organic store in Rochester. The Peoples Food Co-Op might as well be renamed as The Wealthy Peoples Food Co-op with their ridiculously high prices, and Fresh Thyme does not provide consistency when it comes to the health and sustainability of the options. Natural Grocers has a wide variety of fairy priced organic produce, including Turmeric, Aloe Vera, and Rutabega, and the best collection of dried herbs I have ever seen in town (did I mention good prices?) This isnt even to mention the vitamin or beauty sections. Definitely a favorite!

Having lived in Colorado, Vitamin Cottage was my one and only grocery store. I missed it after moving away. Upon visiting the Rochester area for Mayo Clinic, my family and I were thrilled to find find a Vitamin Cottage to keep us nourished. Amazing store, helpful and friendly staff, and delicious food.

Great selection of organic foods

Wonderful place to find specialty items. Very large selection of beauty as well. They do not have bags, so remember to bring your own. Mayo employees also get 10% off with their badge.

Really great store. Lots of fresh organic produce (and cheap when in season). The prices throughout the store are good. Its the cheapest place Ive found dairy-free ice cream. We make a trip at least once a week and are never disappointed by the friendly staff.

Good organic options but pricey

Incredible variety of healthy options in every category. Bring your own bags or be prepared to buy reusable bags there. The parking is easy and the store is not terribly big. I am surprised by what I find whenever I go. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Shopped in several Colorado stores for years when I lived there. So glad to find a store here in Rochester, Minnesota. Just wish there was one in the Twin Cities where I live now. Better than any coop or health food store that I found in the two years living in MN. I appreciate the high standards for selection of each items offered for sale, and that, only organic produce is sold.

All organic produce section is great and products are generally adequately priced. Always friendly as well! The only thing I would never buy there are the meats. They are insanely overpriced! Also, items in their clearance section are either already expired or expire within a few days.

The store is always very clean and well organized, the staff has always been very friendly and helpful as well. They have quality foods and produce and a good deli with hot bar as well as an area to eat and lounge if you have some reading it studying to do. I dont live nearby but almost always stop in when Im in Rochester.

Nice clean store. Staff pleasant.Two major problems are: not competitive prices and old vegetables. Tomatoes were mushy, lettuce black at the leaf edges and salad mix sprouts dried up. Not impressed.

Unique selection!

Great variety of goods. Good sales once in a while; can be spendy otherwise. Nice people, but tough seeing someone around in the areas you may have questions. They tend to hang around the front of the store (at least during the evening when I tend to go).

Went here to try and find sugar free snacks and jerky. I was relatively successful, but I was also quite surprised how much sugar is added to the natural foods. The staff were quite helpful and the prices here are on par with what you would expect from a natural grocery store.

Love all organic produce

Its great that all produce is organic and is reasonable. The produce is good quality too. This store is very vegetarian friendly and has speciality items too. They sell Daves Killer Bread fresh, while HyVee sells it frozen. There are a lot of dairy free options as well. Natural Grocers doesnt use bags, but do have boxes available if you dont have bags. (Reusable bags are also sold.) The vitamin and supplement section, which is displayed over multiple aisles, offers a lot of variety. A 10% discount is offered with Mayo ID, which can be used in combination with the Empower rewards. (Empower is Natural Grocers version for discounts and is free to register. )

This is a very nice store and I can find all kinds of gluten free food.

Great place! So much cheaper that a Co-op. All their fresh produce is organic which is wonderful.

As Ive only ever bought RO water here, I cannot attest to the quality of the rest of the store. But the pure RO water they sell is a lie. Its more acidic and hard than my tapwater. If you want pure water, dont waste your money here!

If youre looking for organic, natural and convienent? This is the joint for you! They offer complimentary coffee and or tea, they have an amazing variety of foods and theyre extremely friendly! Also If you sign up for rewards you can save some cash!

I called beforehand and asked if they had beef bacon the lady goes on a tangent telling me about all the bacon that they be carrying and all the beef bacon and how they have their own brand then I go there and they dont have any beef bacon so long story short she wasted my gas and she wasted my time.

Offers a few variations of items that I cant get at Trader Joes or Peoples Food Co-op, but otherwise not worth the time. No extras like the Co-op (restaurant, bakery, etc.). Staff has been indifferent at best, borderline unfriendly the rest of the time.
