El Super Gallo #1 is a great place to find fresh veggies especially Roma tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, tomatillos, etc. We will be going back to try their fresh meats which were bright and looked incredibly fresh. They have a restaurant on-site which is delicious. We got the sopas (pork) and a cubana (carnitas including ham, chorizo, pulled pork, and a hot dog style sausage). The people there are friendly and there is a great selection. We also got some fresh flan and pork fat that I cant wait to try!

I heard about this place but did not ever went for a couple of years since I have been in Rochester. I like to go there and have an authentic mexican experience.

Very nice store with a lot of variety! Friendly staff and open later. They also have a liquor store too and a meat section (the chorizo meat was amazing!)! Wish parking was a little more convinent/upkeep, but not terrible. Check them out!

These guys are friendly, helpful, and always around. I come here for the great food and the great service.

Authentic food and everyones friendly and helpful. I stop in once a week for carne asada to grill at home. Even better than the stuff out west imo

You need it, want it, or have a hankering for it, El Gallo 1 is there to help you. Plenty of selection and all kinds of goodies there, from fresh fruit and vegetables, to a great selection of dried spices. Love going there just to smell all the good stuff and of coarse, buying it on the way out. Thanks El Gallo!!

Shared two plates of tacos, one chicken and one barbacoa, and they were some of the best tacos I have ever had. A+ food.

Best place to get ingredients for dishes you are preparing. They have a lunch special that is amazing (the tacos with onions and cilantro). There salsa for the Chips has a fair amount of heat, very good place to eat. The people in the grocery store are very nice and helpful.

We came here for the restaurant.built into the corner of a grocery store, this tiny restaurant produces incredibly delicious real Mexican food. Wide variety of items can be purchased. This is not American Mexican, this is the real thing! place your order at the restaurant counter, walk over to the grocery store and get your soda out of the coolers (real Coke tastes so good), and pay for it all at the checkout counter when youre done.

This is the only place we go to get Mexican food.

Authentic food but even further delicious and fresh grocery offerings. Highly recommend if trying to make posole or tamales or any Latin dish. Candy selection is on point and guess what...you can try something new here and not have to leave Rochester to do it.

Best burrito in Rochester! The burrito I had here was as good as some of the best Ive had when visiting San Diego (Robertos!) and Arizona. Good people, good food, and great service. You have to try this place if you havent yet.

Love this place. I stop by from time to time just to grab their to-go slices of Tres Leches cake :) They have a pretty large variety of Mexican food & snacks. Staff are friendly & store is clean

I love this store. Huge well organized selection of grocery items. With many unique items that you wouldnt normally find in grocery store. There is a little fresh produce section and deli. The staff is friendly and is great place to pick up essentials. Cant wait to check out el gallo #2

We used to always love these Tacos!! Last few stops theyve gotten the order wrong we had to drive back for correct food, covid protocol no eating inside. It is a bit like stepping into mexico, but the prices are very high. I Dont recomend the torta cubana as mine came with a hot dog on it. Disappointed service has fallen.

A hidden gem in the heart of Rochester. While its primarily a local supermercado (supermarket), theyve got a small kitchen where they prepare authentic mexican/street-style tacos (as well as the Americanized-version if thats what you prefer). Its my wife and Is favorite restaurant in town and its fun to walk into a small, cozy place that few people know about. Give it a shot and dont let looks deceive you, and youll be pleasantly surprised! Plus, the staff are super friendly and youll often catch them throwing an impromptu dance party in the kitchen when no ones around. =)

Dont let the exterior of this place turn you away. The market is fun to tour and the food is great. Have been a few times and enjoyed it !!!! Great lunch spot.

It had a great selection of candy which is what I was looking for, although I did notice some of the items were expired. Also every thing is so cramped it makes it hard to actually see the entire selection.

My go to my place for Mexican ingredients. El Gallo has everything I need for cooking authentic Mexican cuisine. A large selection of dried chiles and spices. There is a limited fresh produce section with tomatillos, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, limes, cilantro as well as some other items.Updated: You gotta give this place a shot for their in house Mexican food. We ordered the carnitas tacos, asada tacos, and a chicken quesadilla for my kids. The food was wonderfully fresh. The flavors and salsa were great. The chicken quesadilla was so meaty and great. Definitely give this place a shot for some authentic Mexican food.
