The doctor who did the eye exam was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Any questions I had he was more than capable to provide me insight.The optometrist was very rude and unprofessional. He provided no insight to helping decide on picking out glasses the prescription that was going in the glasses or what type of color for my transitions. He was not hands on at all! I almost wanted to leave the business.

Ive been coming here for years, because I have no choice (obviously). You can literally never get anyone on the phone - seriously, try sometime just for fun. The customer service is hit or miss depending on the staff. Theres a high turnover rate. However, all three stars of my review are for Dr. Trieu, who is wonderful and kind and knowledgeable. Ever since he came to the office, I dont dread going anymore. Five stars for Dr. Trieu.

I used to really enjoy coming to this location but my last visit was not good to say the least. I was kept waiting in the lobby for close to an hour without an update as to when I would be seen. I had to threaten to leave before anyone took me in the back. Then the receptionist had to tell Sam that I was waiting to check out after sitting in the waiting area for 10 minutes. He acted as if I wasn’t there and didn’t even ask if I need more contacts or wanted to purchase any glasses. To top it off, it was been two weeks since my appointment and I am still waiting on a phone call for a referral to Reed Eye Associates for follow up testing. I called last Thursday to ask for an update only to not be given an answer. I tried calling today... no one picked up the phone so I hung up after 10 minutes.

Wasted my time on four occasions!!! All I wanted to do was get a prescription for contacts and buy them in store. Booked an appointment and they called at the last minute to reschedule because of lack of staff (it was Presidents Day). Went in for the second appt and they did the eye exam and promptly lost my info in the computer and couldnt re exam because they had booked appts waiting. Go in a third time and they tell me that they actually found my data info just as I left the store but never called me to cancel the next appt!!!!!!! Gave up and ordered the lenses from 1800 Contacts on line. 1800 Contacts calls the store to verify my prescription and believe it or not Visionworks gives them the WRONG prescription. It took me more time to straighten that out. Terribly disappointed.

I wish you could call and get someone to answer the phone. I tried multiple store locations and it’s the same corporate recording putting you on endless holds. Never a human on the other end. It forces you to go online and make an appointment to come into the store. Which is now scheduled for 7 days out to ask a question.Im all for technology and streamlining efficiencies, but this is beyond frustrating.

My visit was overall fine. Discussed all my options. My friend wasn’t aware there was an additional fee for even talking about contacts (not even a contact checkup) and the representative didn’t explain the bill well at all. If anything, it was somewhat condescending. Apparently my glasses got delayed and they found out midday the day before my appointment to pick them up. I have called in 15 times to try and get a rep but have only had success twice, and they were people at a call center. I have been waiting over 2 weeks for my glasses, I find out from one rep the order doesn’t exist anymore, and that there’s a new order that is still pending. What is going on here? This is absurd, no communication. I ordered the glasses on january 26th and it’s currently end of day February 11th. I am BEYOND frustrated. I just want my glasses!!!!!!! Not in two weeks, not in 2 months...

Well I made an appointment at at Empire Vision Works in Pittsford for 9 a.m.. I showed up at 9 06 only because I had a hard time finding a place and had to turn around a couple of times. When I finally got there at 9:06 I was told by the reception person that the doctor is very strict and they have a 5 minute window and because I was one minute late I would have to reschedule. Please dont ever go to this store! Disrespectful and obviously the doctor must be a bad doctor because no doctor would have a five-minute window when there was no one else in the office. The place was empty and the person ahead of me was just leaving. Some doctors think their you know what doesnt stink but this one stinks to high heaven!!!I suggest Empire Visionworks fires this one before he ruins the whole business.

Great staff! Super friendly and helpful. Last time I was at this location (over a year ago) the GM was absolutely terrible. He was very rude and unprofessional. I took my script and didn’t plan on returning. But boy am I glad I did! They’ve done a complete 180. The new GM, Jessica, is amazing! Everyone is super friendly and they really go the extra step to make sure you’re taken care of. If a review is more than a year old don’t even bother reading it, this store has completely changed for the better!

I was having the most horrible day, I had lost my only pair of glasses and was up a creek without a paddle, so i called and Visionworks had me in for an eye exam and a frame selection before the end of the business day! I got two pair of eyeglasses, thats right, two, one and a backup for a GREAT price for my prescription, and they told me it will be less than 11 days till they arrived! I couldnt have asked for better customer service or understanding from their staff, and im telling ALL my friends and family to go there from now on!

We were sent to this location because our regular location in Henrietta was fully booked to see the eye doctor. I must admit we were not disappointed,from the moment we walked in we were greeted . Jessica the store manager was absolutely phenomenal, and took good care of us from beginning to end. I was at the Visionworks, in Pittsford, this past weekend. I went there, because after visiting another Visionworks, twice, I was still not able to see out of my glasses. I did not know if the Doctor who examined me was off or the techs who take measurements were off, but something needed to change. After arriving at this office, there was a world of difference. The staff were much more friendly and helpful, the doctor was much more personable and actually talked to me. I feel I had a much better exam and the measurements were checked and rechecked. The manager, Jessica was fantastic and the Optician, Cindi was fabulous. Jessica comped my eye exam, since I had already had two at another store. I could not have asked for better service and time taken to examine the details needed to hopefully get me glasses that I can see out of! I would definitely recommend this site to anyone looking for good service and they have an awesome selection of glasses to choose from.

I’ve been going to various empire vision locations throughout the years but this one is the most poorly managed. I went to this location because the others had much longer lead time for appointments. The first time my insurance companies website was down to order my glasses so they wrote down everything down (not their fault). But when I called a few days later to check on the status I was told “we don’t keep paper copies of anything so it must have been thrown away”. So I had to come back to see the optician. I then came back today and both of their opticians were on lunch so I was asked to come back in 45 minutes. If you have more than one optician, why would you not stagger their lunches? It’s not complicated. It’s Customer Service 101.I’m transferring my script to another location to get my glasses.

The staff at this office are excellent. My husband injured his cornea on a Saturday morning at 9 am. They took us immediately with no appointment. We were able to see the ophthalmologist and he diagnosed the issue and prescribed medication. We were done and hime by 11 am. Thank you so much for taking such good care of your patients.

Typically, the staff has always been pleasant. They are always running behind but that’s to be expected with Doctors appointments. Today, however, Carmen working at the contact station was incredibly rude to me and asked me several times where my mother was. I’m a 22 year old working professional. Not only was that simply annoying, she also did not seem to know what she was doing. When I initially walked over she was arguing with a customer on the phone using a condescending tone, that was the first red flag. She then tried to argue with me and complained about me having multiple insurances before getting up to print out the necessary paperwork. However, instead of simply printing the paperwork, she stepped in to assist another customer. This may seem like a silly complaint but there were three other people standing around at the counter who could have easily helped and ended up having to help them anyway because she didn’t know what to do. When Carmen finally returned, she proceeded to talk to her computer and complain about how it was not working how she wanted it to. After literally 20 minutes of sitting there with her playing with computer someone else came over to help. Turns out she’d been making me wait for a formatting error she could have fixed after providing me my trial pair. I questioned the trial pair she gave me because I have always had different prescriptions for each eye. She seemed thoroughly annoyed at my questions and slammed open the paper work in front of me and pointed. That instance is why I took the time to go out of my way to right this review. PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO QUESTION PROVIDERS. Contacts are not a cheap item. Of course I would want to clarify before wasting time and money. The wrong prescription isn’t going to help my vision. I’ve gone to this location for four years but I’m thinking its time for a new office.

Went to the Pittsford store to find new glasses and sunglasses. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, and funny! The selection of men’s glasses was better than other places I’ve been and I was able to find frames I liked, but would like to see more high-end brands to choose from next time. Very nice store and employees, and obviously great prices!

Let me say Ive been coming here for glasses since I was 9-years-old (Im 38), back when it was Empire Vision. Always loved the staff and great selection of glasses. However, my experience this time didnt quite hit the mark...by more than a small margin.First the good stuff:1. Still have a great selection of glasses.2. The receptionist was really helpful in 1. helping to decide which pair worked for me and 2. finding my file in the old system since I havent been there in a while - she knew where to look and found it right away.Second, the not-so-good stuff:1. You no longer take my insurance (Eye Med) despite the claim of hundreds of plans accepted! Weird that I SOMEHOW have the one you dont. Awesome.2. The guy who helped me order my glasses was less than helpful (oh how I miss John who used to work there who was SO GOOD and really knowledgeable). When he mentioned that I had a strong prescription (accurate), he started talking to me about different lenses. I took off my glasses and handed them over and said Id like whatever it is I have now. His response was Well, I dont have your file in front of me so I dont know what that it. Ummmm.....the receptionist JUST found it in your old system AND told you where it was. So, thanks for making NO effort.3. When I went in to pick up my glasses I had the great misfortune of being assigned the SAME guy, who proceeded to hand me my new glasses, and look at me expectantly. I put them on, they were crooked, he adjusted them a couple times, every time they ended up not fitting in a new way, and after the 3rd time, when they STILL did not fit correctly, I finally gave up and left. He NEVER sat down with me, never checked the fit himself (i.e. the ear pieces, seeing if they were sitting correctly on my bridge, etc.), and seemed generally eager for me to simply say theyre great! and leave. Also, and this is a little thing (but it always took place in the past), he never bothered cleaning the lenses after wed been passing them back and forth. So, I have a new pair of glasses that I cant wear yet (b/c every time I look down, they start to fall off), and Ill be going this weekend to another vision provider to get a correct fit.Its really a shame because the service at Empire Vision used to be AMAZING. The people who fit your glasses used to know what they were doing, and actually took the time to help and fit you correctly. Now? I paid Visionworks $250 for crappy service and glasses I cant wear yet. Really disappointing.

I was visiting family from out of town and accidentally stepped on my glasses, bending the frame badly. I took them to Empire Vision on Monroe Avenue in Pittsford. A cheerful technician greeted me and immediately went to work. In five minutes, the glasses were good as new. No charge. I couldnt have been more pleased.

I have never had such a terrible experience dealing with any business before. They routinely refuse to pick up the phone during business hours, screwed up my contacts order TWICE (including ordering twice as many lenses for one eye than for the other...?), and then sent me a bill two months later for a service I did not receive. I called to have it taken care of, and-- shocker-- they never called me back after looking into it. Im a student on Medicaid and I had them check with my insurance company beforehand to make sure it would all be covered.Starting to wonder if the bill was in response to the bad review I left on the corporate survey... Take your business elsewhere.

I have never been treated so poorly before. I used to go to the one in Greece till I moved and wow. The women in there are a bunch of moody women. The doctor and the man who work there however are WONDERFUL. Almost every time I went in, I didnt get welcomed warmly whatsoever or treated with any amount of decency. Then after thanking someone VERY MUCH for helping me today the rude girl hung up on me. That was the last straw. No wonder the manager left, working with them I would too. I will be taking my business elsewhere immediately.

Went there for an eye exam and the doctor saw me for less than 5 minutes. Process to get lenses wasnt terribly complicated or lengthy, but when my new lenses arrived I noticed my vision had gotten worse. The doctor gave me lenses that were below my previous prescription strength. Had to return and be rerexaminated, which was an even shorter visit with the doctor than previously. The workers in the front seemed to disbelieve that the doctor made a mistake and were somewhat rude about scheduling me for a reexamination. In total, IveI waited almost 3 weeks to get lenses that will actually correct my vision. Additionally, I did have to wait long times for the lens technician to get my lenses in my glasses. Not a great experience. Will likely be going elsewhere in the future.

Good doctors and overall eye care. I have purchased 4 pairs of glasses and 100s of contacts from them over the years. Customer service has degraded since they became Visionworks.The process can be pretty disjointed if you get an eye exam, buy contacts and glasses. i.e. I needed to order contacts at the same time I purchased glasses, but since the person that manages the contacts counter was out for the week, I couldnt place the order or pay for them. In turn, I had to place my contacts order when I picked up my glasses and come back a third time to get the contacts and they wouldnt mail them in lieu of the situation. That isnt the level of customer service I expect when I just dropped $800 on products and services!

MY EXPERIENCE WITH FIVE VISIONWORKS STORE LOCATIONS IN ROCHESTER AND SURROUNDING AREAS.I have been looking for a Frame by Dragon that fits me correctly.I went to the Henrietta Store first and they were not helpful when I asked them how should the eyeglass frames properly fit my face ....The sales man just said its personal preference what? WRONG answer. So I thought maybe he does not understand what im asking here, so Ill break-it down for him, I ask him about the Bridge, the bow and tried hard to get his imput on proper fit so I dont end buy the wrong fit and having to return them down the road. He did not have anything usefull to say other then personal preference So he was no help. Plus I think I educated him more then he did me...lol I told him what I know about proper fitting.So I went to Irondequoit location. Here they did not carry the Dragon Frames but they told me Webster NY had them....So I drive all the way to Webster!Guess what? they do not have Dragon frames. So that was a complete waist of time and gas. ps: I have a gas hogSO I drive to Victor NY because they said they carry them when I called. I will tell you these two guys there were so Helpful they had a guy there that understood how frames should properly fit in the bridge and basically I was EXTREMELY Satisfied with them. Unfortunately they did not have the frames I wanted but again I felt like they gave me top notch service. These guys were great guys and the oldest guy was great with Children. (Not in a creepy way either.)So it was late and the last location I wanted to check was in Pittsford NY. but they were closed by then, So the next day I decided to call them before driving over there. When I called I spoke with Colleen and she said they had about 10 Dragon frames, So I told her I had been to all the other stores already and asked her if she could do me a favor and tell me over the phone what the models they had...Since this would only take about 2 mins it should not be a big deal right? Wrong! Colleen says to me why dont you just come in to the store? (Probably would be easier for her im sure)I basically begged her to please just take 2 minutes to read off the 10 frames to me. She acted annoyed, gave me the impression that she was lazy. So then she puts me on hold because she says she has to get all the glasses..huh?...So now im on hold and waiting for maybe 5 minutes...Then a guy answers the phone and asked me If im being helped. Personally I got a bad impression because I dont think putting me on hold was necessary.. All she needed to do is to walk over the the frames and read the tags off...Im sure she would have been more motivated if these were her personal glasses that she was selling.So basically my impression of vision-works is go to the location that actually works and has knowledgeable sales staff.Go to Victor NY Location.

The doctor pressured me into trying Acuvue Oasys 2 contact lenses even though I said that I like what I currently wear & would not like to try those. He told me that if I didnt like them, I could just call and say I want the other ones. I tried them- they are incredibly dry & not worth a dime! When I called to order my previous brand, they said my prescription was written in the Acuvue Oasys 2 and that I would have to come in for another contact fitting to order something else! They also claimed they could not see what I had last year. I found an unopened pair of my previous lenses, pro clear, and called back to say that I would not come in for something that I have received for years already. I then found out from my friends husband, who works for coopervision, that the profit margin on Acuvue Contacts is higher & their quality is trash. I dont appreciate anyone trying to scam and take advantage of me. I asked them to email me a copy of the new prescription and they said they could only mail it or I could come in and pick it up. I asked for it to be mailed and when I received it, it was a prescription for glasses which is funny because I only went in for an eye exam and a contact fitting. Everything I discussed with them was regarding contacts. I took my business elsewhere for both glasses & contacts. Next year I will get my exam somewhere else as well! I will not return!

If youre not going to check your appointments online then dont make it an option. Then the front desk people were arguing with each other in front of customers which was really unprofessional.
