Went for the Big Band Jazz Music. Cafe Steam is a full Cafe Bar with Snacks. We were entertained and relaxed for no extra cost.

This is the perfect little place to grab a coffee and chill. Its a cozy little spot that serves up some rich and aromatic bean juice. Its fun to watch the baristas working all the shiny bean squeezing equipment. They also offer a few different sugar free flavorings for spicing up your ordinary cup of Joe.

Tried to order 2 Breves. After the barista asked what that was, we told her it was a latte made with half & half instead of regular milk. After waiting 40 minutes(!!) they brought out the drinks and said we are out of heavy cream so we just made them with whole milk instead. They didnt come and ask what we would maybe like as a replacement, just made something else instead. It wasnt busy inside but they had about 12 drinks lined up to be made (phone orders possibly??) But they were just walking around all slow and laughing/talking and not trying to actually get anything done in a timely matter. Very frustrated with the wait and then still not getting what I ordered.

Excellent interior design and atmosphere. Staff was polite which is always nice.I wanted to like the coffee more but all our espresso drinks were exceedingly sour and acidic. My croissant was also very dry and stale.

A truly local coffee & tea bar with wonderful baked goods. The chocolate chip cookie was large and rich. The tea served just right in a16 oz cup or unlimited service. Very helpful staff. Local art, bakery and feel. Mixture of patrons in late afternoon giving a nice, vibe - no rush - a nice place to catch up or just sit and sip.

Very cool coffee shop. Coffee was great as was croissant breakfast sandwich. Blueberry scone was quite good as well - very soft.

Walked in and for once in my life didn’t feel like everyone was staring at me!Got a large Carmel iced coffee with oat milk, was a bit expensive, but I’m OK with it.The inside is very warm and there are TONS of spots to sit at, the coffee also is very good!

Very very very good coffee here. Cant believe I almost settled for Caribucks and so glad I didnt. Located near hwy 52, its easy to hop off the highway for a pick-me-up if youre passing through Rochester. If you live in Rochester you probably already know this spot.

The coffee was very good. I drink straight espresso so it really reveals the quality of a cafe’s coffee and their baristas. This one really passed the test-very smooth and great flavor.

Cafe Steam was a treat to go to, second only to Fiddlehead. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and the coffee was amazing. I highly recommend the Melya Espresso. One of the best espresso shots Ive ever had. They also have live music and Trivia Mafia! Great place to chat or work.

Coolest spot, great vibes, one of the better me café menus with everything you can think of and even some extra things like house-made Thai coffee, pour overs, yetis, the best tea menu Ive seen in America. The customer service was too notch. Charlie was one of the tenders and was amazing with reccomendations. If this shop was in my hometown, its be the best cafe in town.

Ive been to quite a number of coffee shops around the country, and this is perhaps my favorite. With a warm modern aesthetic, high ceilings and a diverse array of art and menu options, Cafe Steam really had something for everyone. Im particularly impressed by their tea selection, which ranges from the ubiquitous to the quite unique, and by the great buy a friend a coffee board they have where locals (or anyone) can buy a coffee for someone, and leave his or her name on a laminated coffee cup to retrieve. A stellar place to work, to people-watch the locals and med crowd, and at night to hear some local live music.

This Cafe has a nice, relaxed atmosphere, making it a great place to catch up or hang out with a friend or two, or to come in and study. The items on the menu are absolutely wonderful, and extremely delicious. Orders are made in a reasonable amount of time

A good coffee place to go for coffee in Rochester. I tried their Thai Chai latte and Hazelnut latte. While I wasnt impressed by the Thai Chai latte and I dont see myself ordering it again, I really enjoyed the hazelnut latte.The coffee was smooth and the latte wasnt extra sweet or sugary as others do it.The chai latte was overly sweet and you couldnt taste the tea in the drink.I like the atmosphere there but the place get full fast. It hard to find empty tables for a group more than two.

I was expecting amazing service and coffee considering the reviews but I was sadly disappointed as I wanted to love this place.1. They had to re-make our coffee because they made a latte even though the order on paper specifically stated Mocha. Ended up waiting about 15 mins to get our coffee.2. It didnt have any latte art. If Im spending $5 on specialty coffee I want it to look nice! The pictures on Google (including the mochas) all have latte art so I was a little discouraged since that was one of the determining factors of trying the place.3. Though the workers were nice, the vibe we got from customers was very judgmental and almost...snobbish? Im brown and I was getting stares from the predominantly white customers. The sign in the coffee shop says All Are Welcome Here but I certainly didnt feel welcome.Im giving it 2 stars because despite all of these factors, the raspberry scone I had was out of this world amazing! I found it better than the ones at Caribou and Starbucks.

Very nice coffee shop in Rochester, Mn. My daughter was going to the Mayo Clinic for some tests over a week. We went to the Broadway Avenue location to get a feeling for the real deal. Most of the time we visited the location in the skyway crossing over Broadway Avenue. Both locations gave fast friendly service and we enjoyed our beverages very much.

Best coffee in Rochester hands down. Great place to read, socialize with friends or even get some work done. The staff is always great(as is the coffee), and I love the laid back atmosphere. It even has really cool art work.

This is my favorite Coffee Shop in Rochester. The coffee, the snacks and the atmosphere are the absolute best. It is a little small and you have to be agile in order to find a prime working table (Size and Outlets) however, its by far my fav place to do work in Roch

$1.50 an ounce for beans. That’s $24 a pound. I have had many excellent coffees in my life and bags the same. But never have I payed $24 dollars for a pound of average medium roast coffee. Very upsetting to see this absurd spike in price.

Cafe steam is such a fun place or a relaxing place depending on when you go. It can be a quiet place to study, do art, write, or simply zone out. Some nights they have music or other shows that are entertaining. The coffee is amazing 😍 and the staff is always friendly and helpful!

High quality coffee and bagels for a very reasonable price! Very nice surprise. When they told me the total for two bagels and a coffee I was shocked! The people behind the counter were really nice and the ambiance was cozy. If we werent busy playing Wizards Unite or they had inns close enough to reach, we would have hung out longer.

On Friday October 18 2019 Will From Cafe Steam had brought his coffee cart for our wedding. It was entertaining to watch the guys maneuver the cart into the building to be set up, But the assortment of coffees and apple cider was a huge hit! Loved the atmosphere, the cosy settings and friendly staff. Make sure to ask them to make your drinks extra hot, otherwise they will serve your coffee at medium temperature.... I highly recommend giving them a visit. I can guarantee that you will go back.

Ill admit I almost went to a chain coffee shop where I could order through a drive thru but I talked myself into getting off my arse and giving a local coffee shop my business. Outstanding coffee

I look for unique coffee shops in any cities or towns I visit, and was thrilled to stumble upon Cafe Steam. For those who care about the quality of roasts and especially espresso, were talking at least two or three cuts above Starbucks level quality. The espresso beans are fresh; the froth perfectly prepared.

Maybe the best coffee I’ve had (and I’m a former local barista) We has an amazing barista who informed us about some HOMEMADE flavors, decor, and kombucha. On top of the unique and comfortable atmosphere, amazing drinks, and good prices they had the most cute and quality made t-shirts and sweatshirts I’ve seen at a coffee shop before. So glad we stopped, we will definitely be back!

Love their spirit and the localism behind it! Unlike chain cafes, this one has authenticity that is difficult to replicate.They have unique options of teas also that does have a multicultural background behind it. I love their jasmine tea.Their coffee is not too strong and not weak, just right. It tastes different from other coffee shops and tastes great. Just unique, thats the right word for it.I was really impressed when I found out that they showcase the works of a lot of local artists, painters, musicians,... etc. Now that is what a cafe should do!Inside the cafe, youll quickly capture the sense of belonging. Its beautifully decorated.Staff are kind and nice to chat with. Ask them what your mood is and theyll fish you up with just the right drink for the time of the day.I very often come here with friends and hand out, study, read, or just talk about stuff.

This is the perfect to go to study, or go with your family, or on a date. The staff is wonderful and so is the atmosphere. They have local artists art in there for sail, and on Thursdays they have open mic night. Overall wonderful place.
