Went there with some friends last month and I still think about this place. It’s small, cozy and intriguing. It’s definitely perfect for a little date and hopefully next time I will return with one of my own. I can’t remember which tasting I had but between the 4 of us I know we tried majority of the menu and didn’t leave disappointed.
The place is small and was renovated from a regular house. They are known for their truffles and have a great wine selection. They have cheese plates, truffles, different types of wine, and pastries. The place is perfect for a late night treat. Overall, everything is nice. I highly recommended this place.
Small, cozy place, perfect for a date. Chocolates were amazing, sad to hear that this place will be closing soon, would of been one of my favorite spots.
I was on a date when I went here with my partner, its a cozy nice upscale place for dessert imported truffles cheese wine and beer. The owner Michael was very nice and has great knowledge about wine and great wine trails. The house is decorated beautifully. We had the chocolate fudge cake and hazelnut cake with a dessert red wine that went perfectly with our dessert. It was a wonderful experience here.
My husband and I stopped into Chocolate and Vines for the very first time tonight and were not disappointed! These were some of the best truffles we have ever had. The staff was also very kind and helpful!
Ive been coming here for years and Ive never been disappointed. The staff is wonderful, knowledgeable and always ready with recommendations. The menu is constantly changing and is always great. I highly recommend checking it out!
This place is pretty amazing and the service is one of a kind. They have a great menu selection too and the prices are reasonable.
Came here for my Bachelorette get together and they were very nice and had a great knowledge of their product & menu. Sitting outside was nice and the patio was beautiful.
Great atmosphere and service. Sitting on the porch is the best!
First visit. Really enjoyed the tiramasu and cannoli. Will definitely return.
This is a super charming place to go for dessert or just a good way to spend an afternoon with friends. A great selection of beer and wine and pairings with cheese, chocolates, desserts, and gelato/sorbet. The dining area feels like kicking back in your own living room and is a wonderful atmosphere. The staff was wonderful and very helpful in choosing wines/pairings.
Awesome place! Great for a date night or just to relax and talk!
Delicious pairings for both wine and chocolates. staff was nice and helpful in making decisions. great for a girls night out or a nice dessert after dinner. i went before dinner and it was not disappointing. cheese plate was nice as well. i would go back and even take some truffles home.
This place just delightful. Its great for a date or getting together with other wine lovers. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. We always enjoy ourselves when we go. If you dont like wine, thats okay too. They have other options and their desserts are delicious. Try the truffles! Uh-MAZING
Went here recently for the first time with my wife. Its a converted house on University, not much to look at from the outside, but the atmosphere and decor inside are great. The food is even better. We went for desert and coffee, everything was great. The service was excellent. Definitely going back!
Great drink menu and yummy desserts!Service is always friendly and attentive. The neighborhood is lovely and the atmosphere is relaxing, but I think the dining spaces could use some more polish--perhaps frames on the art and more attention to other decorative detail as well.
Delicious and had a lovely chat with the owner Michael who was more than helpful with suggestions based on your preferences that for us were simply amazing. I think I just became a wine and cheese snob. And the chocolate cake was decadent. Highly recommended! :)
Super place to meet and chat with coworkers. had a friend come into town and she asked me to take her here again. it has a good feel to it. like a restaurant in washington i liked.
Great selection of wine to pair with a seemingly perfect selection of desserts. Highly recommend. Friendly and knowledgeable staff really brings this place up to par with other similarly styled options in Rochester.
College little spot. Very interesting place to snack and chat with friends. Owner is friendly and knowledgeable. Service is fast and attentive too. Highly recommend.
We found this place, on the Google. We wanted to continue our conversation in a quieter setting. Mike gave us quick service, nothing like sweets to quiet the nerves. I enjoyed the atmosphere and found Mike very personable. Good place, good time.
First, I have heard many people complain about the small pour size of wine at this place when they are all WRONG. They serve wine in the CORRECT glassware. They come in huge 22 oz glasses(which could fit a whole bottle of wine if poured in) so you can properly smell and swirl the wine. This gives the appearance of less wine however they serve the same amount as local restaurants if not more. If you are used to getting cheap wine in tiny glassware like most of Rochester then stick with it. Chocolates/gelato imported & local desserts are amazing. Staff truly cares about their business and is excited to tell about the heart they put into creating it. They are extremely knowledgeable and are willing to share all they know about wine and their specialty pairings. I knew nothing about pairing wine with chocolate until coming here. It was a delicious and enjoyable education. Atmosphere is classy but relaxed. Pool table is available to play during the week which is cool.
Relaxed feel with more private seating in a refurbished house. Nice that you do not have to tell to hear yourself or others. High quality cheese and desserts with a nice beer and wine selection.
We were looking for a nice dessert place and stumbled upon this little gem. It doesnt look like much from the outside considering its in a renovated house but the desserts, wine, coffee, and truffles were all amazing. Its a very trendy place and we were surprised that the prices were extremely reasonable.
Good desserts but I do not understand why they use styrofoam for takeouts. There are many cardboard and paper boxes that would work and save our environment! I wish I would have looked in the bag first- I would have wrapped the dessert in a napkin.
The selection is amazing and always being updated with the season and holidays. The uniquely airbrushed chocolates are an art in and of themselves, but the desserts are no less of an indulgence. The portions are the perfect size and prices are reasonable given the quality of the menu. I would highly recommend this place for anyone with a sweet tooth or chocolate craving...there is something here for everyone and I wasnt disappointed!!! This is an ideal cozy, quiet, sweet little getaway.
A joyful, elegant spot. A great place to chat with friends and to try rich new tastes!
Really nice quiet atmosphere. When you want to hear yourself think. Desserts were delicious and nice wine selection. Supports local wines!
Quiet and artistic neighborhood. Five stars service. Tried their sweet wine flights with Boucheron cheese, as well as Tiramisu— all of them are delicious.
The desserts we had were amazing and the waiter did an amazing job with helping us pick the wine that would work best with our food (they both worked amazingly well!) And the inside is very cute. Very good for an after-dinner date
Fantastic service, great way to end a date night.
Nice, local stop. The owners are very nice but the selection just isnt as good as some of the other wine bars. Still a very nice place to stop and read or catch up with friends!
Absolutely spot on pairings, just a wonderful place to relax with great wine, cheese, and chocolates
Cute date spot and not busy at all on saturdays. Delicious desserts. Michael is a super nice guy and provides excellence service.
The food was ok but the interior design felt a bit sterile. The chocolate tastings are delicious. Perhaps it would have been better outside but only small group can sit there.
Delicious but a bit on the pricey side. Perfect for a special occasion!
Awesome host awesome wine and chocolate pairings. Cant go wrong with chocolate and vines!
A nice quiet and intimate house like restaurant, where you can have a glass of wine, or coffee and dessert.
Quaint little place. Nice for a dessert and wine after dinner.
Over the top! And I only had a piece of cake. I cant wait to go back.
Very warm and inviting environment. Staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable in wines and pairings. Perfect place for a 1st, 10th, or 100th date!
Place was amazing. So delicious and so cute! If youre in Rochester, its a must!
Great place to stop for date night dessert or drinks.
The owner is so nice and gives great recommendations. Great selection of drinks, cheese, and desserts.
Great wine... Wish there was more drink options however

First time in. Everything was nice. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about pairing.

Charming Ambience, Outstanding Local and imported Desserts, Exquisite Chocolates, Great Artisan Cheeses, Impressive Wine & Beverage List for Pairings! Love the addition of Plates!
Great desserts and drinks nice atmosphere
Very expensive and didn’t care for the wine or beer selection. Everyone seated so tightly and close together Also it took server 4 times to get me the right check. I will not b going there again
Cute place. Nice wine selection. Try the gorganzola with red flight. Delish!
Service, wine, cheeses, were excellent. The atmosphere was cozy and the lavatory was very clean
Beautifully rich desserts and a respectable wine list featuring both dry and sweet reds and whites and including several local wineries. I enjoyed the chocolate mousse with a bottle of Shalestone Red Legend (meritage). Cozy with helpful staff, despite taking a while to greet us and take our order.
If you havent tried this place youve got to go the wine selection is amazing the owners so knowledgeable so welcoming making it friendly their events that they do are off the charts creative fun and the atmosphere is great what a nice local little place keep up the work I love coming there I will continue going there thanks you guys
C&V is always a stop on special nights out. Fantastic imported Italian gelato, French press coffees, and artisan truffles never disappoint.
Chocolate fudge cake from Italy is out of this world!!!Cozy spot on the porch...wonderful way to end the evening!!!
Very yummy desserts. Nice atmosphere.
Great cheese/wine/dessert options! Thier exotic and dream bambas are my, and my fiances favorite dessert!
A bit pricey for what you get but very nice!
We ordered off the smaller menu first, a flight of the Riesling (3 half glasses of wine) and three pieces of ‘paired’ chocolate. If you could call it chocolate, it was garishly flavored colorful candy with a mushy core, not fine, single orgin chocolate, or even locally crafted chocolate. The chocolate was mass produced from a manufacture by the name of ‘Norman Love Confections’; according to the chocolate ‘key’ which was handed to us when we left with our box of chocolates. Also, according to this ‘key’ Norman Love has a few locations down in the Florida area, but is not a local or small business. One of the wines in our three half glasses was claimed to be Hermann J Wiemer Semi-Dry Riesling. Several months ago we went to the Hermann J Wiemer winery (which we do annually), and are very familiar with the Semi-Dry Riesling as we purchased a case of it, what they claimed to be Hermann J Wiemer Semi-Dry Riesling tasted nothing like Hermann J Wiemer Semi-Dry Riesling. Three small pieces of chocolate and a glass and a half of wine (three half glasses) went for around $22. We were both hungry at this point and ordered off the main menu. They served no food other than a small assortment of cheeses (roughly about 5 cheeses to choose from), bread, a few assorted nuts, honey and dried cherries. We got the aged cheddar and the aged gouda on a plate with nuts, honey, dried cherries and ‘bread.’ The ‘bread’ was simply a thinly sliced bagel from a local bagel shop, it was not fresh or warm and was presented as “Bagel Bread.” The combinations off the plate were tasty but it was a VERY small portion and like I mentioned previously, the ‘bagel bread’ was disappointing. While we ate our cheese plate we each picked a glass of wine off the main menu, Forge Cellars Dry Riesling, $12, and Stadt Krems Gruner Veltliner, $8. I do not recall the price of the cheese plate. The Forge Cellars was enjoyed, floral and highly aromatic. The Veltliner was neither exciting nor exceptional. As we were leaving we decided to purchase a box of chocolates. They were beautifully displayed in a glass case by the front door. The chocolates were small, and I considered sharing them. Our server (who was very pleasant throughout the evening) put 20 assorted chocolates in a small box. There were 17 types of chocolates, we got all 17 and doubled up on a few of them. When we were handed the bill for our visit at ‘Chocolate and Vines’ (we spent close to an hour in the business); I almost fell over. For the above items, no more and no less the bill was $120.00 USD, not including the tip and I’m not talking pesos. A $60 SMALL box of chocolates. Chocolate that did not deserve to be called chocolate. $3.00 USD EACH for a small, mushy, fruit flavored lump of sugar. I am embarrassed that we purchased it, it will never happen again. What a waste of time and money to go there. After discussing ‘Chocolate and Vines’ with a co-worker this morning (2/15/2018) she stated that she had a similar experience and would never go there again. My co-worker told me, “It was overpriced, there was no menu. People are paying for the location and the idea of ‘Chocolate and wine.’ I wish I would have known you were planning on going there and I would have warned you not to go.” I shared some of the boxed chocolate with my 14 year old son today. He tried three or four pieces and was thoroughly disappointed. He couldn’t understand how they had been priced the way they were. When I mentioned to him I was going to write a review he stated, “You don’t need to mom, they’ll go out of business soon enough.” I am all for supporting local and supporting small, but Chocolate and Vines will not receive our support or patronage again.
We come here frequently, best cannoli Ive ever had, and the hand made truffles cant be beat
The owners and staff are so friendly, helpful and well-educated about their product. And everything is delicious!
