I’ve bought something like 8 cars in the last ten years and my experience at VW of Rochester was by far the best one that I’ve had buying a car. First of all, the sales woman found us exactly the car we wanted which had a tough combination of packages to find. Other dealers wouldn’t even try. they only wanted to sell you what was on the lot and wouldn’t return my calls. They offered me such a fair price that I didn’t even have to negotiate. They car took a while to come in and they were able to get me a great financing deal even though the deal had technically expired. The car was perfect when I showed up to get it. The financing people were awesome. Super low pressure and didn’t try to push extras that I wasn’t interested in. It was great. A lot of dealers sell you a new car and then immediately try to scare you into all sorts of extra warranties bc of how expensive the car is to fix or how often they need repairs. Not the best way to instill confidence in the new car I’m about to buy. None of that here. Anyway, if you need a vw, check them out. You won’t be disappointed.

Case in point, when I referred my neighbor to VW Rochester and she bought a VW, the dealer mailed me a check for $100 unbeknownst to me. If youre looking for a VW & live in Portland, Portsmouth or the N Shore - check out VW of Rochester first - lets just say some of the other dealers care more about quantity rather than quality and may push business away from this storied brand. I looked around for a couple weeks and couldn’t find the right deal, and none of the dealerships seemed to want to make something happen. The people at Volkswagen of Rochester were very helpful and within a couple hours got me approved for the car I wanted at a payment I was comfortable with. Made the 3.5 hour drive down from St. Albans VT and picked up the car the next day. Very happy with the car, and the customer service.

I dont live anywhere near New Hampshire, but they had the exact car I wanted, and they were priced $2,000 less than any other dealer I inquired with and included the 0% financing. I came here looking for a CPO 2017 GTI that I found on the dealership website. When I arrived, it turned out that the vehicle was in fact not intended to be CPO, but they honored the advertisement, and issued the CPO inspection and warranty anyway.My sales experience here was much lower pressure than what I have experienced at other dealerships. My salesperson, Mark Leahy, was never pushy, letting me direct the conversation, and he was happy to search for any answers to questions that he did not already know the answer to. I had been seeking a new Alltrack, and wanted to take advantage of a financing deal that was to expire in a couple of days, however, there was a limited supply of this model in NH. Chet was the only sales associate of the multiple VW dealerships I called in NH, that went out of his way to find me a vehicle (in my preferred color and from an out of state dealership) within the timeframe needed to procure the 0% financing that was being offered by VW. He is professional and patient, and made the experience of finding and buying a car feel easy and stress-free. This was the best experience I have had working with a car dealership. I would strongly recommend working with this dealership and with Chet, so much so, that I was compelled to write this review - which I am not typically inclined to do.

If I could give this dealership and Volkswagen Credit a negative amount of stars I would. Today my husband and I learned the hard way when we turned in our vehicle that we leased. We had to call the dealership multiple times to figure out when our lease was actually due. We received a tool in the mail and made sure to measure any wear tare that we thought we might get charged for. We replaced two tires and had the other two looked at. We got an outrageous bill from Volkswagen credit. When trying to dispute the damages they told us the car was already sold, that we were suppose to get a call from their inspectors to inspect the car before turning it in, and that we would have the option to fix the damage that they were going to charge us for. They also told us that we should have been in contact with them the entire time and not the actual dealership. The only phone calls we received were from the dealership who couldn’t even tell us when to drop of the vehicle. When we did they told us they were too busy to look at the car and to take a picture of the mileage and leave them the keys. Trusting them and not ever being told to contact Volkswagen credit, we dropped the car and left. Now they are saying they can only take $300 off a $1700 bill. I will never ever go back to any Volkswagen or go through Volkswagen credit again. We had the worst experience ever.Further buyers, be warned of how shady they are and how horrible their customer service is. Never going back ever.

Came on for routine maintenance and state inspection. Reps were pleasant, smiling, and used my name several times. No sales pressure from swooping salesman either. Pleasant experience overall. Service waiting area is the smallest of any large dealer I have been to comparatively.

You buy a car from here, you deserve what happens to you. They will switch cars on you. They will lie to you. They will then tell you the parts department is not available when you try to purchase items that were supposed to be in the car when you bought it.
