Pretty nice employees. Understanding that textbooks drop half in price pretty much after they are bought. They gave me a pretty decent amount of money. Yea I probably could have sold them on my own individually and got a lot more for them but that is to much of a pain to try to do. They are a great option to get some money back for some old books that are taking up space in your house.

The guys here are really friendly and helpful. They do their best to find what books you need and are also willing to price match if you find it cheaper elsewhere. They also have a huge selection of used books from all genres, (kids, nonfiction, and fiction) only problem is theyre not really organized so its best to just browse, not try to find something specific (except for anything school/learning related. Those are organized).

Having read negative reviews, I was surprised by the fairness and efficiency of the staff. They gave me a good deal on buyback, not extraordinary but very satisfactory. I would recommend this to anyone wishing to sell textbooks, though I did not look to purchase anything. As for matching prices, one of my books had a trade-in value of 37.52 on Amazon (in return for an Amazon gift card). The person assisting me gave me 35 cash. Not sure what others experienced, but thats the best deal I could get.

Great way to save money on school. Was very busy but they had amazing customer service, helped me find everything on my list. They buy books back at fair market value, anyone who says they will rip you off has no clue what theyre talking about.Forget renting, forget your college bookstore, this really is the best local option.

They are always so professional and never let me down!!!! My books are always in great shape and affordable I am so thankful for Rochester Textbook :) I can pick up my books that same day instead of having to wait for them to come in the mail ...even with Amazon prime if I want to get started on my work I am able because it available 90% of the time they have my books. Thank you!!!!

Very messy, looks like hoarding buried alive but with books. Very unprofessional. Tried to give me $10 for all 3 of my textbooks, however other websites wanted $50 just for one. Didn’t even let me finish my sentence just cut me off and said $10 and that what I say doesn’t matter. No smile, no greeting, rude. Don’t even bother.

Con artist. Told me my current edition books for the classes I just took had no value, but he would gladly keep them & “recycle” them for me... come on now. Half of these cost over $100, I’ll sell them on eBay, thank you very much.

It sucks that i cant even give them less than 1 star. Dont even think about going to the store. Cant even speak to anyone on the phone. Instead of me writing the entire story, bottom line...These people will rip you off.Looks like couple of positive reviews are by them.DO NOT GO TO THEM AND SPREAD THE WORD...

I think this place might be under new management. I used to hate it ( terrible prices, rude owner), but the last few times Ive gone its been the same guy who is super helpful and nice! Really good prices too. Only downside is you may have to search shelves to find what you want, but they can usually point you to the right spot.

They cannot be connected via phone, which is more than just an inconvenience, it is just ridiculous. The automated message tell you. you must come in. When you arrive they are rude and slightly condescending. I watched a kid get told how much they were going to give him for his text books and he was shocked and just walked out. They make money off books so I understand the need to be shrewd but this place overall is just a place I will avoid. I need to buy a book for class tonight and would rather drive to my college and pay more money than go to this place which is considerably closer to my work.

Terrible experience. The guy was a complete jerk who tried short changing us by over 100$. He wouldnt even budge one dollar and basically told us to leave. If you want top dollar, just tell your books. Dont go to this Joke of a store. You look embarrassing offering me 15$ for a 200$ book.

Place is a duuuump. Guy wanted to give me 20 bucks for 5 of my books, once I laughed and walked, he kept upping the bid for one of my books. Arrogant to say the least. As crazy as it sounds, Id rather get less and give them back to my school than give them to this guy. Sell them yourselves on Craigslist or eBay.

For of all before I get into it, the guy when I walked in was so rude to us. I bought a book for college for 235$ and he only wanted to pay 15$ for it. This place was so bad! Dont go here, its a rip off!

Basically a pawn shop for books. Yes they will try and rip you off so do your research before going in. Edit: Sell your used books online at Booksrun instead. No negotiating and more than double the best offer these jokers can afford.Last year I said they were reasonable enough. Today I brought in a brand new chemistry textbook I didn’t need and an untampered MyLab eText access code for the most up to date statistics course. I purchased the chemistry book 2 weeks ago, new for $180. The MyLab I’m selling online through book runner for $63. I entered the store and he tries to give me $35. I show him just the MyLab quote For $63.00 and despite their “we’ll match it price policy” he wouldn’t budge on the $35 for BOTH. He said “he doesn’t need it that bad”. Which is doubtful as the access code sells for $120. I thought these were businessmen but clearly they’re ignorant or going out of business because they just threw away over a $200 profit l. I’m reasonable and would have settled for $60 for both just for convinience. But it’s 2019 and with that attitude they might as well donate their stock and close up shop.

They have a decent selection, but theyre almost as expensive as the college book store. The staff is not very friendly; and dont even think about calling to see if they have a book before hand, their phone goes straight to an answering machine saying their staff is busy. This has been the case for over a year. Save yourself the hassle and order your books online.

After reading every ones review, I have to agree. Theres a girl (white) in my math class who returned the same online class code and got $40 dollars for it and gave me (black) $15. I have to agree, there attitudes are awful and I rather died from hoarding all of my old textbooks until they suffocate me, rather than give it to them. From now on I rather order it from Amazon, or pay full price!
