Stopped in to the Penfield store to get an idea of different types of shower tiles available as I will be remodeling my bathroom. Found a display of tiles but wanted to make sure they were appropriate for a shower. I asked this question of 3 associates in the area. None could answer my question and the third gentleman said I needed to make an appointment with someone to get my question answered.Since when?Dont bother Home Depot, Ill be taking my business elsewhere and wont trouble you again.
Employees seem pretty good. Store seems neat. There are items out of stock that I needed, but in 2021- where is that not the case?
Penfield store is well organized and clean. Its a home depot so you know what you get going in. This store seems smaller than others but overall not a bad Home Depot to shop at.
A MUST for any DIYer. Great for all odds and ends whether fixing up something outside or inside. Staff is kind.l but sparse. Download the app and it will tell you the aisle and bag of everything you want. Makes shopping easier. Self checkout is great. Expect lots of carts strewn throughout the parking lot not in the cart return (it’s a rite of passage) and expect lots of terribly parked cars. Join them by parking sideways. The paint people here are especially nice!
I ordered a custom door from Home Depot. Not only did the door come unfinished as shown in the pictures it was delivered with multiple gouges and significant damage for a new door. When I contacted the store I was told I can order a new door (which takes 2-3 months if you’re lucky). Well that doesn’t work for me as I have a siding project starting this week that I need the doors for. The best they could do was offer $300 for the damage and the door being unfinished (the door was a $2,500). Not to mention when I call and speak to a manager they give the impression that they couldn’t care less about the issue. For being such a big company I expect more for their customers! I would not recommend any special orders from this company.

Im working on a home project and have been spending my money on items in your stores for the past week. My biggest purchase was for a big amount of $ for an online order on store #1244 for on 8/11/2021 for vinyl flooring. To my surprise hours later my order was canceled by #1244 (greece store). I then called and the representative was not helpful in giving me much information. I then tried calling #1246 (henrietta store) to see if they had the flooring in stock and he was the worst! the guy sounded like he was forced to work when I called at 9:05am, after 9 minutes on hold he hangs up on me, I called the store back and the same guy answered and well he didnt care much that the call was dropped, he then tells me that there is nothing in stock I asked him to put someone else to confirm that and he said no he was the only one there. I took my business elsewhere to purchase my flooring and now I have to wait 3-5 days for #1244 (greece)to return my funds. But the 5 stars is for Mark from #1247 (penfield store) went above and beyond he even tried to call other stores to find the vinyl flooring. Thanks Mark! For your amazing customer service as it should be.

Awful customer service! I asked a number of employees to help me with unlocking a case to get a drill, each of them said Ill page someone to help you! and then proceeded to just...stare at me, not actually calling anyone, or turned away and went back to the conversation they were having with another employee. I get it, I hated working retail too, but my god, show some initiative
Man do I love Home Depot! I dont live near one, so I checked online to make sure they had what I was looking for in stock. I get there and I cant find it. So I try to find an employee. After locating one, I walk towards the employee and they walk the opposite way after making eye contact. So I went to customer service. They said someone in that section could help me, so ok I walk back to that section. 20 mins later, I was able to ask an employee if they had the item in stock, they did not. Why does this happen every time I go to home depot.

Empty shelves. Going back Saturday to buy on line from there as I need the assistance and knowledge to get the correct things.
They do not cater the contractors like they used to they now require you to order online only. They used to have a personal touch for contractors and pull your orders ahead of time. They do not do that anymore and they could honestly care less after speaking to management they said we are sorry we just dont do that

Well run and rarely out of things. Most of the staff is extremely knowledgeable in their departments. Dan brongo in plumbing has saved me money and helped me fix things on my own. Ron, Greg and Beth are very helpful and paint. I cant remember the electrical supervisor but he is also very helpful when it comes to fixing problems.
This is the beat Home Depot in Rochester, the least frustrating to visit. Well stocked and well staffed.
These days i always shop online first at stores like this. I want to make sure they have what i need in stock. I dont want to go there and just waste time looking for what i need during the pandemic. Better safe than sorry people

The indoor plant care there is sub par. I just purchased a monstera adosonii there and it was half yellow and oversaturated like there was mud in the pot. There were other plants there that were so dry the soil was hard it broke in chunks and smelled like mold. Shame on them

Bad, drove a long way for nothing. They need to do a better job of inventory. The computer shows a product in stock, but the shelves were empty.
Good location, plenty of stuff to choose from and even have large quantities of plants! Employees here are hit or miss.

Its still not that easy to find what you want quickly, but you will find what you want eventually. At the time I was there all the people working there seemed to be engaged with customers, stocking shelves. I was not asked if I needed assistance at any time. The lady at the checkout was jovial and professional. Its nice to see a smile during the day in these times.
Updated Review: Since Letter was recieved by Home Depots CEO, immediate action was taken by regional staff from Syracuse: Stephanie and Kelly. The installers, were extremely professional and courteous. I asked where they were from because if their accents: Guatemala and Ecuador. The floor looks great and my loyalty to Home Depot has been restored. Thank you.I purchased carpet and it has yet to be installed. The scheduled install date is April 20. They had a cancellation so came early. The installer did not want to do the job. It was clear from the start, no introduction of who they were, no evaluation of the job,. Instead he boasted about it taking 5 minutes to install, stood on his phone socializing the entire time. Younger installer began work, when I asked a question, that apparently irritated him, They lost it! Said they were not going to install carpet, I pleaded please install carpet and they walked out! Store called shortly thereafter and said theres a25% restocking fee! And hung the phone up on me!!!I Wrote a letter to the store manager--Mr. Valentino--5 says ago --no response. Called today left two polite messages wondering when carpet would be installed? No return call, I think theyre trying to charge a restocking fee. When it was the installer which walked off job. Two weeks prior, I had a stove installed. Luckily I had a friend who could turn the gas valve. The installer said he could not turn the valve. I would have had to hire a plumber or call gas company in addition to reschedule the stove install for 3 weeks later.This Home Depot is a real mess!! A lot of un-knowledgeable youngsters or stressed out employees. A lot of excuses of what cant be done and no knowledge of customer service.Lowes and local hardware stores will have my business from now on-- as soon as Home Depit calls me and installs the carpet I paid for. I shall never darken their doors again.

Penfield store. My first time there. I felt dumb in the self serve. A clerk came & scanned my stuff. Easy to pay by CC. The receipt is given almost by your feet lol.

I came to this store because the Victor branch told me that it would be the same deal at this branch. It did not turn out like this at all this branch had the worst inexperienced associates and manager that I have ever had to deal with. I am a large contracting company owner and can assure that I will never spend another dime in this particular store again and will be sure to steer clear of it in anyway. They were unwilling to honor deal and refused to help in anyway.

Good inventory. Lacking knowledgeable staff. Saw a employee clipping their finger nails in the isle and letting clippings fly all over and he just left them. People can be gross.
No big issues. Went there to purchase dry wall compound. While there I decided to look for a lanyard which would go around my neck and attach to my glasses allowing me to simply remove them when not needed and hang in front of me until I needed them again. A store employee approached me and asked if he could help me. When I told him what I was looking for hr said he wasnt sure but maybe in the hardware department. And that was his only effort to help. He didnt offer to ask anyone else or to even make an attempt to help me look. Needless to say I wasnt impressed by his lack of effort and never did find the lanyard.
Picked up several large pavers at about 95lbs each in two separate trips from the Penfield location. I was greeted each time with eager employees to help me load them. Thank you for your help!
Products are very good. The young man who worked with us (Tom) was most helpful and pleasant. Went far beyond basics to help us get what we needed.
Would like more consistency with help in the store, but they are the only game in town at that location.
Penfield store is my favorite. Cashiers are awesome and alway s know who to ask questions for the right answers. Especially Dan Brongo in plumbing.

As Home Depots go, this one is decent. That being said its still like pulling teeth to get returns/discounts processed. Classic 10 to 1 ratio, for every 10 employees only one knows what theyre doing.

Went in 5o get a few electrical items. Some selections were limited, and completely out of 1/2 PVC pipe. Friendly staff but cant make up for empty items, sign of the times I guess.

The gentleman that help my group and I is Dane (like the Great Dane :D, a title well deserved) from Lumber. In actuality, he helped us TWICE and both instances were great experiences. Not only did know where the items were, he quickly answered our questions and offered advice. Dane is a great conversationalist, has a great sense of humor, and treated us with respect (being a female in a home improvement store, it seems like the older men feel as though the women that visit the stores are merely there to fulfill their husbands shopping list, rather than the fact that we know what we are doing). Thanks for all your help Dane :)
