The first time I had my van serviced there I experienced excellent service. I had the transmission fluid changed for the first time ever in my vehicle and I had bought it used. Ashley was very professional and helpful when it came to discussing future routine maintenance. The price was really reasonable too. I paid less for the transmission fluid change and a oil change than the amount the dealership was going to charge me for just a transmission fluid change. However when I took it there to have the engine replaced, the service was not as great. After a month I had to call once a week to find out updates on it. Then when I went to pick it up I was told my balance was $611 more than what I thought. It turned out to be a miscommunication but the reason I am so upset is because it was 100% avoidable. I have dealt with many shops in my life and they have always told me the full amount of the the balance when they called me to let me know the vehicle was ready, without me asking! The miscommunication was over tires. I had approved the tires online but then we decided not to have them put on and my husband told her that when he dropped it off there. I understand that people forget and she forgot to remove the work order from the system but If she had told me the amount and not expected me to ask in order to obtain the information, I would have reminded her we had changed our minds about the tires and there would not have been an issue. When I arrived the only solutions that are offered is for me to wait several hours until the tires are removed or write a check. Neither solution was satisfactory due to my circumstances at that moment. A satisfactory solution would have been they not make me wait several hours and go ahead and take the tires off.

DO !!! NOT !!! GIVE !!! YOUR !!! BUSINESS !!! HERE !!! Our car broke down on the side of the highway while traveling through NC and he towed our car while we spent the night at a hotel. We happened to get a ride past the shop the next day and our car was left in the parking lot of the shop, not even inside the gated area, UNLOCKED WITH THE DOOR OPEN, and over $3,000 worth of items were stolen from inside. This man had full responsibility of our car and was too stupid to even lock the door or put it inside his shop. The police suggested we sue him for his carelessness. I am disgusted by the owner and his service. Not to mention he still charged us $400 for towing after this all happened. Terrible, terrible people.

Replaced alternator over $500/ hr!! Your invoice will not have labor broken out for a reason. OH- it was the warranty that cost hundreds of dollars. I doubt you can have the work done with out the warranty, unless they find you a place to stay a day or two till the non warranty one comes in.

Great experience felt like my hometown mechanic no BS involved . I was in a jam and they came through for me. I am not sure that I would have made it back 2 South Carolina if it wasnt for them. Extremely professional with their customer service and diagnosis!!. I called about 10 other shops in town no one could work on my truck. I drive a GMC 3500 HD. They had no problem getting it done for me fast and efficient so I could get back on the road. If youve ever been to a diesel mechanic theyre going rate an hour is about 150 to 200 dollars. I was extremely happy to walk out spending less than $700. Any other shop would have charged me at the least $1,000 and the warranty that they offer with all their work its outstanding. I recommend this place highly . as a business owner maintaining my truck is my livelihood. And I would not have a problem trusting them with just that. once again had a great experience thanks guys😎

My girlfriend and i were road tripping last summer through North Carolina and our car shut off on the way. I brought it to them and they billed me for $8,000 for a new transmission. I didn’t have the cash so i payed to have it shipped back up to my home state of CT to have another mechanic do the work. Turns out my car only over heated and the instrumentation on the dashboard had not been working. I ended up only paying $200 for a fix they said would cost $8,000 to fix. They really tried strong arming me out of the money at any chance they could. I was only 19! Never do business here if you’re life depends on it

3x Expensive! On Thursday 9/17/20, my alternator quit on my 04 Ford F-150. I agreed to the repair bc I was on a trip and stuck. The estimate included:confirmed alternator was bad, and battery was good $57.Replaced alternator cost $580.When I paid they would not disclose labor cost and alternator cost, only a total bill with the above break down.Since the retail price on new ford alternator with warranty is under $300, they must not want you to know their labor rate is hundreds if dollars per hour.i understand all the great reviews because they evidently perform allot oI services. When you are stranded you are glad to get back on the road but I didn’t like to be taken advantage of.

On my trip to South Carolina my friends following behind me in a different car noticed my car was smoking. We pulled off to a Shell Gas Station in Roanoke rapids and all my oil drained out due to a previous mechanic (not at Roanoke Valley) cross threading a bolt. So I had my car towed to Roanoke Valley and Chris was very nice and calm. They really saved the day. They know their stuff. There’s a reason why this shop is AAA approved

Ashley was amazing. She went above and beyond her duties. Our car broke down and we were directed to to her service shop by the warranty company. The part was not readily available but she offered to drive us to the hotel and pick us up once the car was repaired. I highly recommend this business for their professionalism and kindness. I want to thank Ashley and Chris for coming in early to accommodate us.

We never heard of Roanoke Valley Auto Works till AAA towed our ‘94 Explorer there a couple of weeks ago. I was extremely impressed when we received a phone call from Ashley stating our truck had arrived and they’d be taking a look at it right away. She was so good about calling with every update and keeping us informed of our options. The turnaround time was just 2 days! Even though there was quite a bit that needed attention. We will be taking all our vehicles here. Friendly, conscientious, efficient, and reasonable. God Bless You!

They were a great find for us when my car’s critical engine malfunction lamp suddenly started flashing on I95 in the middle of a 7 hour drive, several hundred miles away from home. My car was really running rough and I wasn’t sure how we were going to reach our destination. They were just a few miles away from us and we saw they had received several good reviews on Google so we felt this was the right place to go. They were very friendly, explained everything clearly and were able to start working on my car right away which was a tremendous relief. They had us back on the road in just a few hours and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone in the same situation.

What a lovely place-De went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Our van was towed to this facility as I wanted a Triple A affiliated shop. De got us into air conditioning, offered us coffee, soda, or water, and explained things every step of the way. She even offered to drive us to a local hotel, if that was needed. The bathroom was the most elegant I have ever seen in a shop! They were professional, courteous, and friendly.

Our car had a catastrophic transmission failure on 95 N between Rocky Mount NC and Roanoke Rapids. We had the car towed to this AAA certified auto shop for repair. Although a complicated repair which required a special part ordered from a dealer further away in Raleigh, Ashley and team kept us updated throughout the repair and did high quality work at a very reasonable price. Fortunately our car is running 100% and the transmission is back to normal. We really appreciated the communication and thoughtfulness Roanoke Valley Auto provided us in our time of need.

The owner (and his son), both took time out of their Saturday to help me with an emergency. He got the job done super fast & got me back on the road. Absolutely the nicest man I have ever met. The local big-name dealership refused to help me until Monday, and he knew I couldnt wait that long, as I was traveling. I wish there were more stars to give. Id recommend this company to absolutely anyone!

I was in the process of purchasing a van out of state. I live in NH and needed someone locally to do a pre-purchase inspection before I bought the van. Ashley answered the phone and walked me through the whole process; she was extremely helpful and very pleasant to work with. I had a few things that I wanted the mechanic to look at specifically and they were more than happy to accommodate. They were honest and took pictures of everything in the inspection and sent the report in an email. The inspection report was very thorough and they caught a few things that the seller didnt mention which helped me negotiate the price of the van. I would recommend this shop to anyone in the area because of the thoroughness of the mechanics and how easy Ashley made it to have everything done, even though Im 700 miles away.

I was evacuated from North Myrtle Beach on 09/10/2018 on the way back to Virginia my truck had abs and traction lights come on so I was able to make it a hotel in an area called Roanoke Rapids, Nc. it was around midnight. So the next morning I got up started calling around to repair shops and towing companies. I knew nothing of this area several of the companies I called acted like I was bothering them. But I called Roanoke Valley Auto Works a young lady named Ashley answered I explained my situation she was so friendly and made feel like she really wanted to help. They also had a rollback to come get my Hummer H3 the guy that came was Chris he was also nice and let us ride with him back to there shop. Ashley was extremely nice probably one of the most down to earth person I have spoke to in awhile. The shop closes 12-1 for lunch Ashley even took my mom and I to a place so we could grab lunch, plus Ashley went and picked up my part instead of waiting for delivery of it and when she was done she came back and got us. Her and Chris did everything they could to make us feel comfortable in area where we knew no one plus they went above and beyond to get us back on the road as soon as possible so we could get home. So if you are in Roanoke Rapids or ever have car troubles please call them.

Will never waste my time or diagnostic money with them again. They wanted to charge me $1,124 for a new air compressor pump and labor with the towing included. Im computer savvy and ordered my own air compressor pump for $172 and paid $40 for the labor. Thats a sum of 212. Part and labor. Which took all of freaking 18 minutes. Then they said something is wrong with my belt. The mechanic saw nothing wrong with my belt. And I just purchased it from OReilys so its new. $271.60 they want for brake pads that I priced at Auto Zone for $49.99 itll cost me $30 if that to.be put on. Smh. The 1st time I went them last year they charged me $200 for 17.5 miles to get my car from my house to their shop. And turned around to charge me $200 so I could have it towed 8.6 miles. Freaking rip off. This time when I declines the work from I had L&M towing come get my car to take it to Garysburg again and I almost dropped my cell when the man said $80. Same place Roanoke towed my car to and charged me $200. On top of that...they messed my bumper up because the guy Chris didnt tow my car from the front like L&M did. He towed it from the back. Never again and I have a really nice Mercedes-Benz. Community Motors took great care of me. And Shearins Auto put my bumper back on.

To the owner,Thank goodness receipts. Ill be getting mine in a few from.MY file box. First and foremost the owner Mark lied his response to my review. He stated that I have a rear wheel drive. Public, I have a CL550 Mercedes Benz 4matic. AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE!!!! Second, you lied on me in your review and said I drove my car with the suspension down. I never drove my car with the suspension down because IT IS A LUXURY VEHICLE WITH A COMPUTER SYSTEM THAT WILL FLASH WITH RED LETTERS STOP, CAR TOO LOW. In which you can not drive with it like that. As the tire wall is literally sit on the tire. Once that light came on in my YARD I didnt move and I watched my car get lower in my YARD each day. My bumper was cracked not off from a wooden stop sign in Weldon!!!!! Next, your tow truck driver pulled my car on to the truck from the back when I told him that I could slowly turn my car around in my YARD so that he can put it on the truck using the pull key that was in my truck. He insisted on pulling my car onto the flatbed by the back. As he pulled my car up my bumper I stood and watch as my bumper was coming out while listening to.it bend and crack. If I hadnt screamed STOP MY BUMPER WOULDVE BEEN MORE MANGLED THAN IT WAS. HE asked me if I had any wood around which thank God I did have several pieces. As he would anchor my car up onto the flat bed with me guiding him. As the car would go up my bumper would get snagged on the wood. I eventually said, jUst take my bumper off. So do you see how its not good to lie Mark, the owner. Thats what happened. Once he got it on he assured me that yiunall would put the bumper back on with no.problem!!!!!! You all performed the diagnostic and saw that my air shock struts were all good and determined that I needed another air compressor pump!!!!! In which ASHLEY assured me that I didnt have to worry about paying the towing then because it would be included in the invoice. I opted not to get the part and labor from you all as I ordered my own. I asked ASHLEY if I could get my car towed to U.S. HWY 301 in Garysburg and she said no.problem and called the tow guy to ask him the cost and she said $200. I thought that was crazy because it was way closer than Jackson!!!!! But I needed my car towed and fixed so I paid ASHLEY IN CASH WIYH MONEY I WENT TO.THE BANK TO GET AND PAID FOR THE $116 DIAGNOSTIC, the $200 tow from Jackson, and the $200 tow to Garsburg!!!! And you all didnt put my bumper on like the young tow guy said. You mean to.tell me you all tow for free Mark???? Let me advertise that you all dont charge for towing for distances like 17.5 miles! That was the first time I went to you all. This time I drove my car in because my suspension hadnt dropped so low and the red STOP LETTERS DIDNT FLASH ON MY MONITOR. I was speaking with ASHLEY IN your office and this time you were at your desk. This is when you told me its best not to keep driving with it low as to not cause any damage to other parts. I stated that I was leaving to take care of some business and to clear my car out so I can bring it back for diagnostic. I came back the next day, left my key with ASHLEY, in which she confirmed later what I already knew which is that the air compressor pump stopped working. She told me the same price as the first time and I told her I had to see about getting money for the part and labor. I told her I was going to get my own part and get Community Motors to do the work.again. She suggested L&M towing because they didnt have the legal paperwork to put their truck on the street yet. She asked if I wanted to leave my key for L&M whenever they came and I opted to hold on to my key. I paid for.the diagnostic. She said my car would be right outside the gate and said theyve never had any issues with people messing with cars near their gate. She was so sweet and dropped me at Wal-Mart. I called L&M on a rainy evening around 5 and the guy was right there waiting for me😊. He put my tow key in the front pocket, I aligned my car with tow truck & drove it up the ramp myself😎. Boom!!
