First proper 6 oz cappuccino I’ve had in Richmond; this spot lives up to the five star reviews. Places like this make me happy I live in Richmond.

Hands down the best espresso drinks in the area. a shame they are only open on weekends but it is definitely worth the wait. The cappuccinos are perfect and the specials are always fun and different. A Lemon con Panna was especially delicious.

Recluse is my favorite coffee shop/roaster in the city. Their seasonal drinks—both hot and cold—are always incredible. Their beans are also so good, and they pay the farmers/producers well over fair trade prices, which is a huge plus.They’re also just super nice people with a really cool spot. Don’t sleep on the pastries either!

New Saturday ritual is coming here in the morning for coffee and breakfast. Their coffee is some of the best in Richmond, and their awesome food is made by Pizza Bones (cardamom bun and danish morning bun is my go-to). Aimee and Jack are legit cool people, and I cant wait to experience their shop as more than just a walk-up window.

If youre a coffee aficionado, enthusiast, expert, or casual drinker, have good faith that Recluse will be providing you with an incredible coffee. They have a clear and undeniable passion for the best coffee possible and you can definitely taste it! If you want beans for your own set up at home (I use a V60 and a Flair espresso at home) or if you want a fresh drink, the experience will be wonderful.They also have ready to drink, batch brewed coffee thats canned! A perfect fridge item for your iced coffee needs. A few local vendors also carry these cans, so be on the lookout around RVA for them.

I dont know how I havent given this place a rating yet, but Recluse is easily a MUST check out spot on the weekends in RVA. Order early if you want either of their monthly coffee or tea slushies (believe me, you want them), as well as either of their morning swedish buns provided by the awesome people under the Pizza Bones roof (Thursdays at Jaspers on Cary st, their pizzas are killer)! If slushies arent your thing, their vanilla iced latte easily satisfies on a hot day (go for the oatly instead of whole milk), and so does their ice teas!
