Installer of hardwood floor had to keep returningto correct and finish the job, extending overan 8 month period and only after my manyphone calls both to him and the manager.One excuse after another. I don’t trust them.Take your business elsewhere .
*****Final Update*****Finally, they finished the work, I like this^^Thank you so much Floor store!******Update!!!!Kevin and the manager helped me to solve my problem, so they will retouch the trim for the thresholds, I hope the work is pretty good.***********Kevin at Richmond was good for consulting at the time. But I am not satisfied with their finish. I have never seen like this finish. They have work properly, but the work for finish looks unprofessional. You see the pictures. I am complaining now(Second), so I will repost it when they do last work. Also they didnt work for other two. They make us so mad.
Andrew sold us this off brand quartz countertop mfg. called MSI. Within 3 months it started to chip. He was probably getting a referral commission for pushing their product. Watch out!
A reputable store should not sell defective products. Straw Hickory from Heartland Collection is defective. I know its a natural product and color and character varies, but if the variation is above a reasonable threshold, simply admit the product is defective and take it back.Look at the photo. Sample 1 is close to the sample I saw. Sample 2 no idea... Sample 3 - dark brown zero knots. Sample 4 - All stripes and knots. Sample 5 - milk... No, this is not normal, no, this is not within the boundaries of a natural product. It looks like several products were mistakenly packaged and sold together. Not acceptable.Is the store at fault? Yes - If the product has such a wide variety, provide a sample large enough to illustrate the overall effect. What I was presented with was not illustrative. Or, allow returns or exchanges. Or simply stop selling defective products. Let me know if you need clarifications.
This was the second time I used the floor store, each time they provided excellent customer service. Brandon the service representative did a excellent job walking me through the process. He wanted to make sure I was satisfy, before final payment. I highly recommend the floor store for your flooring needs. Thanks Brandon

*UPDATE: after posting this review, Ive subsequently been contacted by the owner the store. He apologized and took ownership of my experience. It was a productive call and made me feel much better about the whole situation. He seems to care deeply about customer satisfaction and looks like the issues I noted will be remedied. All I can ask for.Mission: buy area rug and mat.Visit 1: I showed up 30 min after opening. Warehouse guy wasn’t in yet to cut the mat.Visit 2: I showed up another day 1 hr prior to closing. Warehouse guy had left for the day. Nobody there to cut the mat. I asked if I could prepay for the rug and mat and have the mat ready for pick up. They told me I could prepay but they won’t cut the mat unless I was present.Visit 3: Showed up the day after visit 2. Computers down. Could not process my payment.Visit 4: Showed up with cash in hand and bought the rug and mat. They asked for my phone number and address. I inquired as to why they needed this for a cash transaction and requested not to be ever contacted by the store. Store manager assured me I wouldn’t. I then waited 30 min in the store with my child as the warehouse guy took his time to cut my mat.A few days later, I received a text to complete a survey - so here you go....one of the worst retail experiences in years. Two thumbs down. I guess I am the sucker for going back 4 times for a rug.
We are very happy with the various products we bought- very good prices and selection. No complaints, and we were very pleased with the installation service they arranged. David Shapiro was our salesman and he is a gem- highly recommended.

We had a great experience with the Floor Store in Richmond, Cal. Dennis, the sales rep, was very patient and informative. When we located a product at another store, he ordered it for us. He kept us informed about the status of our delivery. He answered all our questions about installation, etc. We highly recommend them.
I have noticed this store sitting in traffic on numerous occasions but didnt have a reason to go in. Last Friday (11/16) I was referred to carpet contractors for carpet (near Costco). I arrived at 3 and was pretty much rushed. The Rep at the counter advised me numerous times of the 4 oclock closing. Was absolutely unhelpful in every area. Needless to say I left. Upon departure I remember the floor store. My transaction was complete in less than 30 minutes. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, i got a super deal. I was able to get the color I wanted, the carpet type was a better grade than I expected to get for my price and it was available in store. Too bad I wont be needing carpet again anytime soon. I will for sure refer this company and will always use them for my flooring needs. I would definetly suggest trying this place first.My carpet has been installed and it’s wonderful! So glad I walked into this store!
Great service and price. I was looking for wood flooring that is tough to find. Brandon didnt give up and found what I needed and the price was right. He was available throughout the process to ensure that the flooring was to my satisfaction and intervened when there was a mixup in a portion of the delivery to make sure I received what I needed.

I am dissatisfied with The Floor Store in Richmond, California on many levels. First, my flooring project—to replace carpet with hardwood on stairs, an upper hallway and a bedroom—took almost six months—from early April to late August. Secondly, the final charge ($16.6 thousand) is more than ten thousand dollars over the initial quote ($6.5 thousand), even though, the completed project is exactly as was originally requested. There are no signed change invoices, and, in fact, the Floor Store never asked me to sign off a change to the project.The initial quote is dated April 8, 2018. Materials weren’t even ordered until June 7 and then were not delivered to my house until July 26. Meanwhile, the first bill had come (!) and was duly paid by its July 9th due date. Cardboard stacks of wood sat in my dining room almost a month until installation began August 21, 2018. The project was completed August 27. During the intervening six months, the Floor Store did not proactively call me with updates. Without me calling them for updates and to prod the job along, the project would still be in abeyance.The salesman, Richmond store manager, two different installers and I talked about changing the project. Dispatched to become educated about matters of stair materials. Overwhelmed, I decided not to change anything. When I so informed the Richmond store manager, he told me that additional materials (at an additional cost to me of $50) had already been ordered and could not be returned; to which I consented.The initial quote and signed contract anticipated removal of bottom level spindles and railing. In the end spindles but not the railing was removed and moreover the final invoice does not reflect a price adjustment.In the initial quote and signed contract, we were going to leave the upstairs railings and floor molding as is; which is what happened. No one asked me to sign an authorization to charge the initial signed contract and in fact there is no change order.On August 29, Floor Store salesman emailed me a revised bill with $1850 non-delineated added charges. Representative of the aggravatingly, dismissive “customer service” that I have had from the Richmond Floor Store during this project, to date, there has been no follow-up phone call to explain the additional charges.I will have another flooring project when I remodel my master bedroom, master bath and office/storage area but, most certainly, I will not be using the Floor Store.

We were very happy with the carpet and installation from The Floor Store. The installer was professional and knowledgeable and saved us a lot of grief by suggesting we place the seam in a different location than what we originally planned.
Just had The Floor Store install hardwood flooring in our condominium at Watergate in Emeryville. Our contact at The Floor Store was David Shapiro and he was outstanding. He walked us thru the hardwood selection process and solved a difficult Watergate-specified underlayment issue. Albini Flooring did the installation and they were also outstanding. They met their schedule which involved removal of carpeting, linoleum and old parquet, floor prep, installation of the underlayment and hardwood, application of a sealer followed by the application of 3 coats of oil-based clear finish (no need for stain - the clear finish alone produced a deep rich golden clear finish). One long time resident of Watergate who handles maintenance issues there already commented that he has never seen a better hardwood floor installation at Watergate. I have no connection to The Floor Store nor was I compensated in any way for this positive review.
