This had to be by far the easiest and fasted car buying experience I have ever had!! I manage a very busy automotive repair shop in the area, which makes it very difficult for to get out shop for a car and had just come from work with my service dog. I was exhausted and wanted to look at and possibly pick the car up that tonight. It was out getting inspected for its VA safety inspection. The shop was closed by the time I got the the car lot.The assistant manager made 1 phone call to the owner of the inspection station and was able to pick the vehicle up even after they had closed. I was a salesman at a traditional dealership years ago. I was skeptical about CarLotz at first. I almost bought a similar vehicle locally, but was treated so poorly that I was thought I would give CarLotz in Richmond, VA a chance. I do not regret that decision at all! I am an out-of-state buyer and was very nervous about buying a vehicle I have never seen. Jacobi sent me detailed videos, pointed out any deficiencies in the paint, started the vehicle, operated the some features and even had people smell the interior to make sure it did not smell like smoke.I spoke to Jacobi at least 5 times each day as I worked through this deal and he was always patient and understanding. He walked me through the paperwork, explained everything and made sure I was comfortable. No question went unanswered. I realize that I was the most annoying customer ever, but he still worked with me and understood my concerns. Even after the purchase, he has still been helpful throughout the process. If you are not sure about CarLotz; go for it- especially the Richmond location.

We had an amazing experience at CarLotz. 10/10 would recommend doing business with them! Jon helped us with the test drive and checked in with us the next day to see what we thought and Alex helped us with the application and purchasing part, they were both full of knowledge and had no issues answering any questions for us. Our truck only had 1 key and they made sure when we picked it up a new key was made and ready for us. What a great no-hassle experience. I found the perfect truck for myself online and drove 3 hrs. for a test drive. I was apprehensive, but the staff, especially Jasmine and Quincy were so friendly and accommodating and immediately put me at ease. The purchase procedure was quick and easy. They provided DMV registration so I left with tags and title. And they filled the gas tank for my drive home. Great experience.

Bought a Lexus RX450H back in February of this year and I love BUT the windshield has leaked ever since I got it. The leak just happens to be right where a bunch of wires are. Yikes! It’d be nice to have CarLotz pay for a replacement windshield. I’d change this to five stars.UPDATE: Spoke with someone from CarLotz on the phone today (6/8/21) and they unfortunately refused to assist in any way. Didn’t think a couple hundred bucks would break their bank. Downgraded that review from three stars to two. My advice to anyone looking to get a car from them is to avoid them at all cost. You’re just a paycheck to them and that is all. Customer service IS NOT a priority there.

Gonna be a long post, sorry. We went in to see a certain vehicle. Upon arriving, someone else was there to see the same car. They got there before me and its a first come first serve basis. They wanted the car, so we left. About an hour later we get a call saying they passed on the vehicle would we like to come back. I already knew i wanted the car. Low low miles and priced below kbb. We worked with Alex (i believe he is the assistant manager) and he went over and beyond. I have 0 credit so I knew to bring my Cosigner with me. We were determined to go through my bank (mistake), and he obliged. It was a nerve wracking 2 days. As it turned out my bank wasnt the lowest route to go. Alex found a different lender with a lower APR and worked with us to get me in the car i wanted at a price I can afford. He is amazing! The entire staff was amazing actually. Cannot thank them enough!!

This is a no frills car joint where calling in advance for an appointment doesn’t result in the vehicle you’re interested in being pulled to the front for you. There is no haggling, so if you want to haggle you should find another dealership. Cobi, the assistant manager responsible for the financing and paperwork portion of the deal, was great to work with. He was knowledgeable and friendly, answering any questions I had. From a vehicle standpoint, I wasn’t happy that there was only one key fob and that they wouldn’t replace the missing cargo cover that was included on the listing. Despite that, the vehicle was listed at a fair deal and I was offered a good price for my trade-in. Overall I’m a satisfied customer with the things addressed that matter most to me.

Purchased a car on Friday from here . The car wasnt cleaned in the inside or outside. No detailing what so ever . It was just how the last owner had left it . Driving over two hours i expected more for the money we paid. We politely declined the warranty offered and the salesman kept pushing after we had said we had our own personal mechanic, asking what was our back up plan if the transmission fell out etc.I overall just wasnt pleased with service and how the vehicle was brought out to me to take home.

Personnel at this location are great. However, they are extremely busy so business could probably use more help. My biggest issue with this business transaction was inability of CarLotz to have both vehicles I wanted to test drive on the lot at the same time. Too many vehicles in this small lot. Itll be nice when new location is found.
