We were so impressed with Mosaic. Everyone was very communicative via email and the tasting prior to our wedding put us at ease for selecting dinner for the largest event we have ever hosted.Everyone was raving about the food and all of the staff was very attentive to the guests and cleaning up the site. We had a very large storm on our wedding day in a tent and the catering staff was first to help keep decorations and place settings from getting damaged or flying away. We really appreciated the extra hands! At the end of the night, we found a cooler box with a meal for two of all of the reception food and a mini champagne bottle for us to share that night. Im sure it was no surprise that we did not really have a chance to eat at our wedding, so getting this boxed up meal was really thoughtful. Rachel and her team also dropped off a note in our card box wishing us congratulations, which was really sweet. Thank you so much to all of the staff!
Ciera and the Mosaic team helped make our wedding day on 10/16/2021 absolutely perfect! Our guests are still raving about how amazing the food was. From set up, to food, to bar services... they do it all and they do it all well!! You need to hire them for your event!!
Mosaic catered our wedding and we could not have been happier! We opted for a plated meal due to COVID but I wish we could have done stations because their options were never-ending. That being said, the food at the wedding was top notch. The appetizers were fabulous, and tons of guests commented how good the food was. Our steaks were cooked as if individually ordered and the service was incredible as well!! So happy we went with Mosaic!
We are so happy to have chosen Mosaic to cater our September wedding! We worked with Tory from the very beginning, who was fantastic - he was very communicative, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about what would work best with our venue and the vibe we were going for. Our original plan was to have stations and a “farmer’s table” spread for our guests to nibble on throughout the night - we imagined this would allow for a more relaxed vibe than a plated dinner would. However, when the pandemic began, we found ourselves making the difficult decision to reschedule from our original April date. Fortunately we were still able to use all of our original vendors, but COVID required us to forego our original plan of stations in order to allow for social distancing. Tory was great at both reimagining our seating arrangements in a way that would maintain the relaxed, warm vibe we wanted, but also keep guests in their quarantine pods. The plated dinner we ended up having was perfect - it kept everyone distanced, but did not sacrifice the warm, relaxed feeling at all. Also, of course, the food itself was amazing. We had been to a wedding catered by Mosaic in the past, so we knew it would be - but our expectations were exceeded at our own wedding. Tory was very responsive to questions about the menu, as well as accommodating to tweaks and specific dietary requests.A very important note about COVID and the rescheduling process: Tory and Mosaic were so flexible and understanding - they helped make a very stressful and unpleasant situation much easier on us. They were extremely proactive in thinking of ways that would allow us to keep our guests and vendors as safe as possible, but still preserve the feeling of a normal wedding as much as possible. We don’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of a caterer - they were wonderful!
Had a tasting at Mosaic for my daughtersupcoming wedding. When paying 75+ dollars a piece for the tasting you’d think we’d get to taste everything we had planned—no. Then I know they did correspond with my daughter but to have us sitting there and speak just directly to her—maybe she didn’t realize we are paying but that shouldn’t matter. They have lost my confidence already! And for 340.00 I got three appetizers, 2 small tacos and a half a cup of macaroni and cheese...it all tasted good but why weren’t the other items prepared too!
We hired Mosaic to cater our sons wedding. We live 2 hours away from Richmond. Somehow or another, the food served was piping hot ( to 200 plus people) and all DELICIOUS! Our guests raved about the meal. We opted for the family style service. We felt our guest would interact more if the food was passed around.I highly recommend them💖
Corporate gift boxes are the thing now covid-19 has made gathering a problem. Mosaic puts together beautiful gift boxes with a multitude of interesting items that really have a wonderful feeling to them. Colorful and festive.
Mosaic catered our daughters wedding this past weekend. The food was amazing, the staff, incredible and so easy to work with. Our guests were so impressed with the food ! Thank you for all your hard work. You are awesome!!!
Alwsys empty, but decent store.
Delicious and easy catering
Untrustworthy group of schemes and lies
Mosaic provided the best menu and prompt delivery to our home for an intimate celebration of life of a loved one who passed away suddenly. No public facility or church was open due to the virus-related restrictions. Mosaic provided a whole meal with paper products at an affordable price. We WILL be having Mosaic cater for gatherings in the future. Thank you Mosaic.
They catered our wedding reception and were amazing! Great communication, very reasonable people who make INCREDIBLE FOOD! The day of staff worked hard, helped out everywhere they could, and made the day worry-free.
Mosaic Catering and Events catered my wedding this month and I also used Sarah Pickard as my day of coordinator! Sarah worked very hard to make sure that my wedding day went smoothly and that I had nothing to worry about during the wedding! She took so much pressure off of me when it came to planning and coordinating all of the vendors as well as setting up and taking care of everything behind the scenes at the wedding. I could never have done it without her! The food was also delicious! We did barbecue and I received so many compliments from guests on how good the food was! I would recommend Mosaic Catering and Sarah to everyone!
Awesome service, explained in great detail
I recently attended a wedding catered by Mosaic. The food was amazing, and the the staff were friendly and professional. What a great experience! I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the area.
We hired Mosaic to cater our wedding and they went above and beyond our expectations. Every dish was delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly and professional. Our guests raved about the food, particularly the creative spin on breakfast for dinner options that were served as part of our late-night snack. If we ever need to hire a caterer for an event in the future, we will absolutely look to use Mosaic again.
I’m so glad I chose Mosaic for my wedding catering needs. I especially wanted to give a shout out to our event coordinator, Marie Basil. Marie went above and beyond as my catering point person. She quickly responded to all my questions throughout the months leading up to the wedding. She went out of her way to coordinate with the venue – being a much needed middleman. Marie also went beyond the call of catering and talked me through important items, such as ceremony needs, timing, etc. This was guidance I desperately needed. When it came to the day of the wedding, I had no worries. Marie and the Mosaic team made everything go smoothly. The most important thing when looking for a caterer is obviously how the food tastes, and Mosaic’s food was delicious. We got many compliments throughout the evening. Mosaic catered to my and several guest’s vegetarian needs. It was also really nice that we could provide our own alcohol, and Mosaic served it. This allowed my husband and I to get the exact craft beers we wanted.Mosaic offers great food with fantastic customer service. I will definitely use them again for any future catering needs. I recommend them highly. So thank you Marie and Mosaic for helping making my wedding wonderful!
Visited for ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation. Great food!
Mosaic was absolutely great to work with! They did so much more than we ever expected a caterer to do. They took all of our needs and went above and beyond by creating reserved signs for certain tables, setting up centerpieces, and creating a cocktail hour for the bridal and grooms party while we were taking pictures. All communication leading up to the event was prompt and professional. Definitely recommend!
As an established event coordinator that handles weddings in DC, Charlottesville and Richmond, Ive worked with countless catering teams. Mosaic consistently sets the bar for professionalism, punctuality, presentation, creativity and taste. They are ABSOLUTELY worth the money. Every leader Ive worked with on the staff has been helpful and solved problems with a zen-calm, exactly what my clients need on their big days. Major props to Maggie, Phaedra and Tory!
Top notch place to have a catered event. The service and the food are both outstanding!
My fiancé met with a Mosaic representative on August 19th in reference to catering our wedding reception. She was told she would get an official quote the following week. Fast forward, we reached out again early this week and still haven’t received a response. I would not trust a business that cannot follow up for the most important event of our lives.
Very knowledgeable and professional staff. A warm, beautiful place.
Great company, I have had the pleasure of working with them many times and everyone is always friendly 😀
Wanted to reserve Mosaic for our wedding. After weeks of back and forth, we finally had an appointment on the calendar to meet. We no longer live in the Richmond area, so planning our wedding from New York. We drove down to RVA just for them to cancel on us last min after several times confirming we were coming. We also had to pay for the tastings and have yet to receive our reimbursement.
1.5 years ago, my husband and I got married. We are a combined family and had a small wedding of about 50 people at our home. I contacted Mosaic to do the catering. I was very specific that this was an evening event and we wanted to serve enough food for people to fill up. I repeatedly asked the girl (wedding coordinator) who helped us plan, if the amount of food we were ordering was appropriate. I had not seen what 1 platter consisted of before. In multiple emails and in person, she assured me it was plenty. After I delivered my personal platters for her to put the food on before delivery, she assured me once again I had enough food. Ultimately they didnt even fill up half of the platters and returned the others empty. The portions were tiny and there was no way what they delivered would feed our guests. For example, a dip was honestly 1 ice cream scooper and that was supposed to feed 12? There was no issue on budget or cost for us so there was no reason we wouldnt have ordered more. I had been very transparent during out conversations and was completely surprised and upset when they delivered the food. I could not believe that was all they were delivering. I couldnt reach anyone. I called and called. I later learned they were too busy at another very large function to answer my calls (per their delivery driver). The delivery guy agreed there wasnt enough food and made some calls. He was gracious enough to go pick up some bbq they had made for a different event just to give us some extra. However by that time I had sent my father and sister in law to Fresh Market to pick up pre-cooked foods and sides. What was delivered to us would barely feed half the party. A few weeks later I had a conference call with the coordinator and the manager from Mosaic. The manager was incredibly rude. She refused to refund us any of our money or even compensate us for the groceries we had to go buy in the middle of our wedding reception. More importantly, she told me- you got what you ordered. Well obviously thats the truth but I trusted the coordinator to tell me the amount each platter would serve and to tell me if it wasnt enough. Believe me if they say it serves 12- it really serves about 4-6. Their tiny portions may be what they consider high end but the food wasnt even that good. All in all, I live off River Road and near Mosaic. I will not eat there, give them any business or recommend their services again. The food wasnt very good. The portions were tiny. They misrepresented their platter size. They made mistakes in portion suggestions. They were not responsive the day of the event and then finished it off with an unprofessional conversation. If you want people to actually eat more than a small appetizer, Id suggest ordering double or triple if you have to use Mosaic. Id highly recommend using a different caterer.
