The Sales person/cashier was very familiar, friendly and highly knowledgeable about the beauty products. She was also very patient and engaging with all the customers. Making sure that they left the store fulfilled. Very rare personality in a beauty supply store.

I actually like that the store isn’t Texas size huge, but still has everything you need. Very convenient!

Super convenient organized and clean beauty supply store. Its not a large location (which is perfect) They always have what I need (for making wigs, braid hair styles, edge control. Plus they are very helpful.

This is the ideal business for me to purchase black hair supplies. They provided absolutely everything I needed to maintain my hair regimen. Plus they are conveniently located close to home!!!

So far the positives outweigh the negatives so I’ll keep going there. They have a pretty good selection, sometimes the staff is friendly sometimes they’re not. That needs to be more consistent. STOP FOLLOWING PEOPLE AROUND. It’s incredibly uncomfortable and makes you feel like a criminal. Invest in some cameras if you’re so worried about theft. They can (and have) cross the line between very friendly and helpful costumer service and suspicious, stalking that makes it obvious they’re watching you. I will say though that when I do actually need something they’re very helpful. Basically because they were already on your heels the whole time. The collection is pretty good. If it’s too limited I’ll go another beauty supply. But for what it is, I REALLY appreciate the convenience of their location. It’s 1-2 miles from my house and has most of what I want. I hope they’re actually taking these reviews to heart because I see the replies and they’re responding mostly to the positive ones. Actually try to make your business better because I want to see a black owned (I think African owned too) small business thrive.

Called today because I found out the owner here owns SMASH on Bellaire as well entered today Customer Service was terrible over the phone, SMH. Do they think that people Must buy from them because they are in the area 🤔, and choose to offer bad service.

Great selection of beauty products

Very personable and helpful eleven months ago....This is an update from 11 months ago when it first opened. I had a pleasurable experience the first time but when I returned on June 27, 2021 that was not the case. There was an older woman and young lady working in the establishment. The elder woman was extremely rude!!! Granted, I had no idea about how to puchase a wig at all. They werent very helpful and acted as if I was a nuisance. Their accents were very thick as if they were of Nigerian or African decent.They kept trying to explain to me that I needed to purchase a hair stocking before trying on the wigs but i couldnt understand them. I finally got what the younger one was saying and purchased the stocking cap. I ended up buying a wig but will never return again!!!After I left I noticed another establishment right down the street. I stopped in and what a difference. Great customer service unlike what I had experienced at Venerate. From now on the other store will get my business. Im completely done with Venerate!!!!😡

The location is convenient and easy to find. I love the variety of products available but I am not a fan of the customer service. I DO NOT like being followed around the store, it makes me feel like a criminal when I know I am not. I don’t always research products before I go to the store, sometimes I do it in the store if a product catches my eye. This can take me a bit of time at times but it is fine by me since I want to ensure I’m getting the most for my money and hair health. I’m not sure if the attendant on duty thought I was stealing but I made it clear I wasn’t when I told her I was looking up product reviews. I understand wanting to maintain a certain level of security but get cameras for monitoring instead of stalking behind people in the store. It is terribly uncomfortable.

This store is a God send! The owner and staff are so welcoming and warm... and accommodating. They smile as they greet customers and ask if they can help you find anything. They are knowledgeable and recommend great products. If they dont carry a product, they are willing to order it for you! But, the store is well stocked with product lines for all hair types! The prices are fair and every purchase leaves me feeling good about spending my money there! I went today and the non-stop parade of customers coming in and smiling felt so good to see! We all knew wed done something good for ourselves and our community. And, you will too!

I have been going here for a year. They have the basics. Thats all I need. They have some shortages on some looks and colors but have what I want in other brands. Its a win with them.

This beauty supply is much needed in the arear. Plenty of supplies to choose from. Also I jammed and sang the whole time that I was in there. Great music playlist.

My daughter showed me this store a couple weeks ago and I have been in love ever since. Its still hard to find a wide variety beauty products for the hair type I have and the hairstyles I want done. Its so close to home and makes going natural so much easier. Great customer service and great products.

Great place to get beauty and barber supply needs. I recommend giving this place a try toi get your hair care needs. Right up the street from Sams in Richmond. Maybe 2 blocks away. People were really nice abs welcomed me in when I entered the place of business.

Great people and products. I know my wife will be returning multiple times as she was in love with the store. My only complaint is that the A/C could be turned on as it was a little warm. All in all it was a great experience at this store.

Consider putting a cash register savvy individual with excellent customer service skills. Customer assistance with products also need improvement. With great personnel, your business will grow.

I have been here several times since they opened. They have always been nice and helpful. I am happy to them so close by, so I dont have to drive to Bellaire. They have never been rude.

Over priced...but good service

Poor customer service, selection of hair products seem ok...however store aisles are very tight and hard to navigate for browsing especially during Covid times, it is impossible to stay 6 feet apart. Also the items are tightly packed on shelf or placed on bottom shelf . Just laid out poorly. The customer service was the worst. I asked where something was located because aisles are not labeled and I wanted to get in and out. The person just pointed and said over there. I just left. Not worth my dime or my time.

Very nice place! Very nice lady! Very clean! I didn’t even know it was there!!! I drove everywhere looking for hair products that we sold out! They had plenty!! AND they are right down the street from where I live! I found my new beauty supply! If you are looking for hair products, this is the place!

Ehh, great customer service I guess. I just didn’t care for being followed. Every isle I was in, someone mysteriously stood on the other end. I was in an isle looking at a product and as I turned to walk off, someone was directly behind me at the end of the isle.

Lady working there sarcastically belittled my 7-year-old daughter. She was putting bows on a wig (which she shouldn’t have been doing), and the lady says, “are you buying that?” in a super sarcastic tone... to a 7-year-old. Why not just ask her to stop? Why not come to me and ask me to stop her? Why go out of your way to be sarcastic and demeaning to a child? Please don’t give these people any of your money.

Amazing customer service and a wide variety of affordable hair supplies for natural hair, braids, wigs, weaves etc. The store is brand new, clean and orderly. The women of the store are always so sweet and ready to help when I walk in. I’ll always come here for my beauty supplies.

Nice staff. Bad hair quality I bought hair from here for braids and it tangled immediately, letting me know that the hair was old. I called and spoke with someone but they didnt say anything except for sorry.

Nice place but the customer service isn’t there. Total came to $3.81 they said I needed to spend $5 to use my card. K, cool. I picked up a sample packet just get my total to $5. Before the transaction was over I told her I changed my mind & could benefit from the hair beads, my card proceeded to be swiped instead of canceling the transaction then they told they didn’t know how to cancel/exchange. That turned into they were not allowed to accept returns.. even though I hadn’t left the store nor even received my bag yet. Now I’m stuck with something I didn’t even want.

Rude and unprofessional. I came in today with my mom and daughter and my daughter bumped into a rack and an item fell off. She picked it up and placed it back on the shelf. When it was time for us to go, the older lady at the register commenced to scolding my daughter to put the item back ”exactly” where she got it from. I asked what had fallen as I didn’t see it when it happened and she replies “she knows what she did!” First off, my daughter picked it up after it has fallen and you scold her bc she didn’t put it exactly in the same spot??!! These ppl will get none of my money until they learn how to treat paying customers. And their prices are 50% higher than other beauty supply stores. I went right into Houston to get what I needed with no issues.
