I went into this SEPHORA JcPenny location about a year ago and meant to write a review about it. This was my first time ever in a JCPenny sephora store.I encountered a young employee who was literally making up answers to my questions which resulted in eventually turning away my sale. I came in to return an item I had purchased online. It was hard to find the return policy on Jcpenny’s website for sephora items, but Sephora’s website clearly states that items ordered from Sephora.com could be returned at any Sephora location including the JCPENNY sephora locations.The young girl told me that was not the case (I wish I did this sooner so I could describe her - she was a young white shorter, I think blonde girl). I said okay, I looked up the policy quickly in the parking lot before coming in the store and had trouble finding it so I went with it since I just needed to walk into the other side of the mall to go to the REAL SEPHORA. 😒😒😒Next I asked about a clearance foundation I saw that I wanted to purchased. I asked can you return clearance items here (since clearly it seems like this sephora operates under totally different rules than any other). She then lied about that answer and stated “I don’t think so.” Basically this girl kept making up answers and turned me away from the entire store. I was annoyed and could tell she didn’t know the answers to the questions she was just making them up instead of doing her job.... She didn’t want to call and ask how to do a return, or deal with ringing me up period.This kind of encounter speaks for a lot of the chain stores in the mall as a whole. Forever21 is a nightmare if you ever have to call and get assistance for an online order. The customer service is lacking in many of the stores since they’re close to shutting down & the employees really don’t care about helping you. Not all obviously, but definitely the ones that higher younger employees...I would just avoid this JCPENNY location all together & go to the real Sephora inside the mall where they don’t make up answers to your questions & try to get out of doing any cashier work. They are super helpful there & always polite, & i’ve never had any issues with a simple online return. They go out of their way to help you get it straight usually.

Wont be returning. Definitely wouldnt recommend this location, I was trying to get advice from one representative and she recommended I leave and go to a competitors store instead (ulta). Not my first odd encounter at this location, the staff has a habit of acting more like loss prevention instead of helpful knowledgeable Sephora Associates.
Salesperson didnt have time to assist with my item selection. Instead, shed rather put up stock on the shelf. No patience. No sale from me!

Terrible customer service, when asking about the same product being in stock after 3 weeks I finally went up to go look at the selection. I got a giftcard for a Jcpenny exclusive Sephora so the closest and most convenient is here. Everything is sparse so I go to the front after waiting in a line to ask about the product I was looking for. I finally get up and ask and she tells me I dont think we have it in stock and just stares at me blankly. I asked her if there was a section to look for it in and she said no and just brushed me off for whoever was next in line. Not 5 minutes later after browsing whatever is left on any display I see her talking to another customer very disrespectfully. She was helping a woman look for a tester she had in her hand and went well the one you have in your hand says Brown and it says brown right here in the most complacent rude tone. This was clearly an older woman who just needed guidance and she spoke to her like she was a burden. I wish I had gotten the name but she was a heavyset red haired woman. Definitely avoiding here if i see her face if not the whole place all together.
